I believe the above curahee comment was supposed to be on the conversation him and corky were having on the rumours page. Curahee obviously created a new post rather than replying. My switching over post above was another failed attempt at humour.

Ok. Now it's sunk in enough to post. Never heard of him (obviously) . BUT. I'd rather give him a go than, say, Steve McLaren or David Moyes or Sven or virtually every other name who was a realistic rumour. So welcome TC and let's start the roller coaster. Again ! Oh, and please keep Pep

On a different note I thought it was really refreshing to see derek McInnes reject Sunderland as he has unfinished business at Aberdeen. At last some loyalty towards a project, fans, a club and personal morals. I hope some younger people take note of that! not mentioning any names

Give the new coach a chance, Wagner was a bit of a no name when he turned up and now look ! from the YEP :
Christiansen is understood to have run the Italian through a lengthy presentation, analysing the individual players at Elland Road and identifying areas of their squad which required improvement. He also dissected a number of Unitedβs fixtures under Monk and outlined the changes he planned to make to the clubβs style of play. At the end of their conversation, and on the strength of Christiansenβs homework, Radrizzani began the process of appointing him immediately.

Personally, a disappointing decision. We spend money on creating an executive team (nice to have) but not necessarily the same in the choice of manager, cheap option. No experience of English football which will take time to develop if he stays the course, particularly with choice of players being selected by another party - DoF. Being a businessman the approach is to create a structure (business perspective) but as a football team, no direction.

Bit premature- give the guy a chance - wonder if the Cypriots said the same thing when he rocked up there? In fact - wait - yes they did! I have relatives in Cyprus and they are raving about what he's done - different league - same ball! It's what you do with it! I for one am prepared to give the guy a chance to prove himself.

Schooled at Barcelona by the great Cruyff, has a good relationship with Pep at Citeh (potential loans) , hasn't done much wrong in his brief managerial cv so far, gave a real in depth presentation to Radz apparently, going through our entire squad and highlighting areas we are strong and where we need to improve, has a plan B and C and was pointed out elsewhere: every manager has been an unknown at some point. It's a thumbs up from Mick and he could be a diamond. Let's give the bloke a chance. He is no Hockaday that's for sure! MM

I agree with with the guys wanting to give him a chance. Let's face it. No matter who was named would it been known or not known some still would not be pleased. We won't attract a top top manager and we just have to let the guy have a go. I'm actually looking forward to the next 3-4 weeks to see the standard off signings. I can just about remember him playing, so don't really know much about him . everyone has to start some somewhere, so maybe we are the place where the new special one finally has his big break. Yes cyprus is it renowned for its quality football, so doesn't that mean his achievements in Europe are even More impressive? We need to give him a chance. Honestly I'd be surprised if we bettered last years position, but that doesn't mean it's not the start I of something special.

{Ed001's Note - I am shocked that people are disappointed, I have to wonder what did they all expect? Surely the options are basically 3 - an older manager on the way down in his career. A career lower league manager or a young, up and coming manager that might just become something special.
This is the Championship, Leeds have been in it for years. The ground isn't full every week, who did you think was going to look at the situation you are in and think 'I want that job!'? People have such unrealistic expectations.}

Seems like a reasonable appointment to me - the guy knows how to win and although untested over here can make the best out of a squad that aren't necessarily the greatest. Have a look at the guys stats in the Europa league. Topped a group that included Olympiakos and Young Boys. Then beat Athletic Bilbao before losing 2-0 over two legs to Anderlecht who then pushed in the next round. A 60% win ratio, obviously very organised and whilst the Cypriot league is not full of quality, to me he seems to have the basics of someone with promise. Whether that is a good enough grounding for the Championship time will tell. But then is the new guy at Sunderland coming from the Scottish Prem any better qualified or the Russian at Hull? Villa will walk it, followed by Derby, Wendies, Fulham and hopefully ourselves. All to play for and who knows AR just might have unearthed a gem. MOT

I've done as much research as possible and here's what I've found. In his time at AEK he knew how to make the best of the squad he had with 4/5 additions over the 12 months which were all successful from Spanish first and second division, roughly. Between 28-33 years old. He generally plays a 4-5-1 and a 4-3-3 when going forward, possibly suiting woody and sacko. Implications of a 3 in midfield suggest vieira, bridcutt and okane, perhaps someone new to come in and challenge for this position. He is a very welcoming manager and is very passionate about his players work ethic. A real family man apparently so if he gets it right here we may just have a new father. It's very early doors but I'm excited. He's worked under a DOF in Cyprus as this is allegedly normal for them, with scouting networks already implemented in the teams. To me this suggests that orta's role, and AR's budget may be a combination to admire, with TC getting the best from the players. I can finally get to bed now and on go the transfer rumours, who's first?

Give the guy a chance, ok it's a little disappointing after being linked with various bigger names. I mean, who'd ever heard of Wenger, Wagner, Pochettino before they came to England. Judge him after a handful of games in the league. What we need now is for radz to splash a little of cash, keep key players and hit the road running at the start of the season.

PP, not many unknowns succeed in getting out of this league the right direction. Wagner yes but he was known to and rated by Klopp so just unknown to us. TC unknown to us too but have the feeling top Cypriot football men aren't exactly shouting his name from their rooftops. Even if they were with Wagner its German engineering from a well-known football country. Cyprus hardly a force to be reckoned with. His pedigree questionable therefore. I see nothing to suggest success. At best I see mediocrity.
