One thing is for sure last season we would not have come back. Squad is woefully thin we have to strengthen from whatever sources we can.

Dont agree the squad is woefully thin. It’s Bielsas approach and so far so good. Four key players out yesterday yet we got a point from a game we agree we would have lost last year.

We need time to see whether his strategy will work throughout the season and then in Jan we will have a better idea and a chance to fine tune.

Harrison, Baker, Roberts and soon Clarke and Edmondson need playing time to improve and show us what they can do. They won’t get it if we keep buying other players.

Middlesbrough have bought a bigger squad in and it didn’t help them at Norwich where we won 3-0!

Well, the game was not on the Tele today so I didn't get to see it. I followed the commentary on BBC but it's difficult to form an accurate picture from that. Although the stats tended to favour us I admit to being somewhat nervous right up until Jacko did his thing. So, tell me, people from Bielsaland, how did we go? Who was up to the task and who has a way to go? Is Roberts the answer? Do we give him time to find his boots or do we need to turn to the young guns?

Just watched the highlights on Quest and their views" Millwall were by far the better side". I listened to the game on radio Leeds and until the last few minutes it seemed we had had the better of the chances, so a draw seemed fair overall.

Waiting for Bermondsey to get back from the pub to see how it looked in real life!

Don't know if you are being a little bit tongue in cheek or not George but although I don't think much of O'Kane it's not a nice thing to happen to him.

I agree. i slated him a lot last year and was not too upset to see him move on but am not pleased to see this happening to him and wish him a speedy and full recovery.

Wow! Bermondsey, you must have had a great day and Brown pants at the end! Let us know how it looked. Seemed like a difference performance than last year? The difference between Roofe and Roberts!

A point will do for me, a (little) bit of clear water, and better, Boro took a beating :)

Sounds like the performance wasn’t that bad considering the disruption of the week. Feel for Roberts, got into some good positions but lacked the clinical touch, if one had gone in, it would have done his confidence a lot of good. The bosses substitutions were interesting, perhaps thinking about a whole week of football rather than performances in this game. But he pushed Harrison up front and he scored. Good to get Forshaw back playing again. Obviously wanted to protect the youngsters from this kind of game, perhaps they will get some time in a home environment against Preston or Birmingham.

But who would have thought it, we suffer all the grief and Middlesbrough go to Norwich and lose! Now the only unbeaten side in the championship!

Roberts needs a spell on loan in league one.

Roberts just needs a few games, and a goal to get going, from what I've read he wasn't that poor.

15 Sep 2018 20:10:37
It’s his first game, got into spaces and found opportunities, needed one of those to go in. I would imagine that Bielsa will give him another chance against Preston or Birminghamm. Remember it took Roofe time.

15 Sep 2018 20:59:14
Give him time. It took Roofe a while to find his best for. Roberts will come good in time.

Sounds like four good chances missed by Roberts. Still in it though. Let's hope our fitness that Cooper was on about in the week sees us have a strong last twenty minutes. A point would do for me now, but hoping for more. Roberts subbed.

Quite happy with 0-0 at halftime. Need to get the ball more to Tyler Roberts and get it out much quicker to Harrison.

Roberts replaces Roofe, Harrison stays in for Hernadez, Pontus for Beradi, Clarke and Edmondson on the bench with Blackman, Baker, Pearce, Dallas and Forshaw. Actually given the situation, team looks good as does the bench! Good luck to Roberts, and hope Clarke and Edmondson get some time .

I have to disagree about Roberts looking lively in pre-season, as he started late, was behind the pace of the team with abject passing ability. Admittedly he was playing on the wing and not his natural position. I also hope that he has improved whilst on the training ground and I hope he proves me wrong, but I think he requires a season at this level (like Roofe) to get to the standard required. We have limited options and I would have brought another striker in during the window as we only had 2 recognised experienced first team strikers and Roofe has not lasted a season whilst playing for us. Apologies for the negativity but I genuinely feel that we have made a mistake with cover for strikers and these are the players that win you games.

Massively important week, Millwall, Preston, Birmingham. I think this is the real test of Plan Bielsa and perhaps will go a long way to resolving the arguments on here about whether the squad is deep enough. Really looking forward to this one! This game almost seems more important to Millwall than there year end position. After all the hype and the tough week, let's get out there and stuff them!

It’s ok beating wannabes with a weakened squad. We need to scratch out draws and wins against better teams.
I have faith in the b. But time will tell if we have the quality.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Sep 2018 10:32:06
I will go for 2 or 3 nil to us. Millwall overachieved last season and have managed to weaken their squad for this season. If we stick to playing football and do not let them bait us into individual little battles we will have too much for them. Goals come from anywhaere in this team so not too worried about Roofe being out, though i would have prefered him up front as Roberts not shown a lot yet. Personally would be cautious of blooding Clarke in this sort of game but sure if Edmondson gets some minutes he will hold his own against their bruisers. Fingers crossed no more injuries and we get a decent game from the ref.

Bige Edmondson my choice to start due to his physicality. Like to see Clarke come on after an hour.

Morning all. Hope you all have had a good week and earned lots of beer tokens.
My prediction for today is a 2-2 draw. It is Millwall's cup final so they will up there game. Got a feeling in my water this morning that one of their players will get an own goal for us and the other will be one of the u23 stars coming off the bench to score in the final 5 or 10 mins. Favouring Clarke for this but this read in my earl grey morning tea leaves so could be totally wrong.
Anyway fellow banterers, take care and I'll be seeing you. 👌🦉

It will be tough today Lucas, but I feel we can get a positive result. Winning the Midfield battle is key. Really disappointing that Roofe and Hernandez have got injured in training. Our squad will be tested over the next month. If we can keep in top spot or thereabouts things will look promising when the injured players plus Brown return. MOT.
