You had a bang on the head mate? what's with these questions?

Yes to both

No he's had the snip, Cura. By the way, well done Lucas, I've always thought it takes balls to have that done! 😊

16 Apr 2017 21:26:27
Volunteered to have it done believe it or not. My sister and bruv in law have just had an accident, and it's triplets! They already got a couple of resource drains and didn't want any more. Thought I'd best have it done, don't want any mishaps. I'll be the one doing a lot of shuffling in my seat tomorrow.

For me on the season as a whole Ayling has been the stand out player. He is solid in defence and better going forward with the ball than any of our wingers. Green has come into the reckoning recently as his form has been outstanding and Bartley has also been excellent.

Wood has been phenomenal with his goals for chances ratio but other than that he is lacking. He is player who you can be watching and saying 'He's not up to much' then a few minutes later he scores. He is like that for most games. Can't complain about him though as his goal record is excellent but if his all round game was better we might see better results from the supporting players.

I agree about ayling. when we first signed him i did think that a defender from Bristol for 600k or whatever it was wasn't the most inspired signing, but he has been brilliant and proved me wrong.

Curahee everyone proves you wrong in the end.

16 Apr 2017 19:46:40
Oooh I don't know - Bartley I think for me. Solid, ever present and although his playing style nearly makes me have a heart attack he just gets it done.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Apr 2017 19:49:26
Hesslian - good point about Woody. Like the Newcastle game he does nothing all game then just pops up with a brilliant goal - I'm thinking all game 'just change it, give someone else a chance he's doing nothing' then all of a sudden - BOOM!

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Apr 2017 19:47:36
Yes, I can't believe myself sometimes. Even after he bankrolls our season with a goal every other game I still look at him and wonder, if only? He just does not threat for 90 mins, poor first touch beaten in the air. Then from nothing at all we are one up. What am I worried about but somehow I am. What's wrong with me.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Apr 2017 20:01:00
Sure about that cork?

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Apr 2017 20:24:39
I also agree with the point about wood, he tends to do that a lot, proved it again in games like Rotherham and Wednesday. It might sound daft but if he didn't score goals he wouldn't be having good games, it's not like he provides assists or just generally plays well. The only other thing I think he's done for us this season is a brilliant slide tackle against villa.

At the end of the day though striker ms get goals and he's done this all year, he's been in excellent form and he's a top striker for this league. I'm glad we've got the big lad and he's not netting for anybody else. He is a leader and a senior player, and he's a white through and through you can see that from his interviews. Ayling for me is also POTS for us, because he's been class in 90% of his game time. Solid signing and credit to monk for finding quality from league 1. Going to have a bright future that ladπŸ˜„

16 Apr 2017 22:30:24
He's had a fantastic season. I think the proof in his quality my come next season, which ever league were in. Either it will prove he is prem quality or it will prove he's not a one season wonder.

Right then. I'm bored, crappy weather and I've just had the snip so in a little bit of discomfort so need cheering up. I've remembered a heated debate from early in the season that had you lot split and want to resurrect it. Green or Silvestre? Who should start? Let battle commence. Enjoy. MOT.

It isn't a debate Lucas. On current form it's green no exceptions!

Although when we have cooper in defence speedy we might as well.

16 Apr 2017 13:35:23
Nor even a debate or battle Green all day long player of the season material

16 Apr 2017 13:51:47
OK Speedy, if they were both fit?

16 Apr 2017 14:08:22
Thought so. Thanks guys for cheering me up with a debate to relieve my boredom though πŸ˜ƒ. I'll see what other posts I can come up with before I go to the boozer for a couple of shandies

The future is in our hands. No reason why we shouldn't take 6 or more points from last four games. Dare to believe. We are destined for the playoffs and we are the team nobody wants to meet but they will have to get past Leeds United

Believable0 Unbelievable0

16 Apr 2017 10:56:57
Id like to think we should win all 4 remaining games, but football isn't played on paper as we know. At least six is a must, that would mean Fulham have to win all of theirs if I'm correct. they are the ones which we need to gauge our points required on.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Apr 2017 12:33:58
Don't forget Fulham play at Wednesday's last game of the season. Let's hope we're not 3 points behind both of them. Surely they wouldn't deliberately play for a draw. Would they? πŸ˜‰

Now I didn't know that danum.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Apr 2017 19:54:37
When I was but a lad I drew a football pitch on an A4 pad and made tiny players and a ball out of another page. I could then act out games using those players and ball and the pitch during History or Maths class. In those cases, football was played on paper! I also enjoyed Subbuteo but couldn't generally get the set out while at school.

The vultures are circling already. Pontus to the saints, Barts (OK, he's on loan so not officially ours) to Burnley. Next it'll be the turn of Wood again, Green, then Monk himself I'd expect. If we stand any chance of keeping them then we need to go up this season. Or I fear an onslaught of offers this summer. It's testament to what the MC and the team have achieved this year. Take it as a compliment guys that the prem teams are looking at many of our players. It makes a refreshing change at least from other champ and L1 teams!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

16 Apr 2017 10:27:18
Also heard that some German team are looking at Vieira as a replacement for a midfielder worth 26 million who spurs, gooners and pants United are after. Can't see why the Bart man wouldn't want a move here as Burnley are poor second to Leeds in my opinion. There a yo yo team so better sticking with monk and what he knows. I think we will learn a lot about AR this summer if we don't go up and will see just how ambitious he really is. MOT

Agreed Lucas, at least apart from Bartley we own them and can name our price this time.

Just think our potential first choice defence next season could include cooper! πŸ™ˆπŸ˜³

Agree0 Disagree1

16 Apr 2017 10:33:58
So potential team for next year:
Green,
Beradi, ayling, cooper, Denton, Phillips, bridcutt,
Dakoura, Hernandez, roofe,
Antonson
Not exactly the same quality!

16 Apr 2017 11:21:37
Martyn, Burnley might be the first prem team to show interest in Swansea's best player. And guys, don't forget we still own Bellusci, him and Coops as 1st choice CBs would be a match made in heaven. Also, Silvestre in nets, then we can relive the good old days! Is Redder's still out of work?

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Apr 2017 11:31:51
Lucas don't forget the hock, he could be assistant! There's more chance of the swans wanting to keep Bartley than him going to Burnley. not ruling out that switch, but they may well want him for themselves.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Apr 2017 12:01:29
If we sold all our best players, then we'd have about Β£60m in the bank.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Apr 2017 13:36:50
No we wouldn't. 10 for Pontus, 15 for wood, 5 for Taylor doesn't add up to that at all! plus would we able to replace the quality we have and the amount of players that are being touted and being watched with the money we would get in? i doubt it.

Agree0 Disagree1

16 Apr 2017 14:01:35
A lot more than Β£10m for Jansson. If Saints sell Van Dijk for Β£50m, why should we roll over for their first offer? Anyway promotion is worth Β£200m, so wouldn't be worth selling our best players on the cheap.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Apr 2017 14:11:22
The only one who'd definitely leave if we didn't go up is Taylor, as he's out of contract. The media are just trying to unsettle our players so we miss the playoffs. Nothing to see here.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Apr 2017 14:16:09
IF we're promoted then they won't go and it's a mute point. 10 m is what has been reported. Ok say 15m for Pontus, that's still way short of the 60 m you sugggested we would get

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Apr 2017 14:33:06
It would have to be at least Β£30m before I'd even think of selling Jansson. Β£20-25m+ for Wood, Β£10-15m for Vieira. If Leipzig want RV, then they will pay big bucks like they did for Burke. But anyway they'll all be here in September, so it's a moot point.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Apr 2017 15:14:29
I agree with your valuations sg I do, but we aren't likely to get that are we?

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Apr 2017 19:55:52
Hopefully Garry and the scouts are working overtime already finding quality cover for just about every position just in case of worse case scenario. Hopefully most of it is paper talk but our best must be attracting the attention of the big boys.
