In the space of 3 years we've gone from the best average support to eighth in the leagues not counting prem So when we were owned by bates we had best crowds still paid highest amount for matches yet we complained about hates and demanded a change Well we've got the change but lost 8000 supporters for every home game as an average just don't understand

Believable3 Unbelievable3

The point is that people do not believe there is any meaningful change, bates is still at ER, calling the shots and playing gfh management like a marionette, and hitherto the fans.

Agree10 Disagree1

You don't understand people won't pay £30 to watch who can kick it high as they can in the air?

Agree11 Disagree0

I think you will find we lost the support before we got the change. Also, how much change have we really got;
- Still no communication from the "leadership"
- Still selling our best players
- Still no investment in the squad
- Still "undisclosed" values on players fees
And before anyone says its early days, our new owners had 8 months to review the club during the takeover. WHERES THE BUSINESS PLAN?

Agree11 Disagree1

Yes surely business people know the phrase speculate to accumulate. with abit of player investment leading to better football and better results then fans will flock back. fill the stadium, buy the merchandise. shrew leeds

Agree4 Disagree0

Well put to the 4th poster. There is no buisness plan, there in the buisness of making money off fans heart strings. They must of thought all we wanted was a change of owner and we would come back and allow these mugs to mug us off like Bates did. Why buy a club and then tell fans to sit tight for a year and half. REALITY CHECK, GFH! We've been sitting tight for 8 years now. So don't exspect fans to be happy with your no vision statement.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with most of the points of view on here. But it just goes to show you don't have to be a financial genius to work out simple equations. If I had lots of money (which I haven't) then I would not be investing in GFH on the part they don't seam to have a clue.

I have been a Leeds united fan for 20 years, I owe this to my passionate uncle who took me to many a leeds game. I have seen the rise and the fall enjoyed the highs and endured the lows. The main thing that sold me as a Leeds fan was the never say die attitude of our supporters. In recent times I have become more ashamed to call myself a leeds fan and this is due to the increasing moaning and bi***ing that seems to have taken over what was once a great set of fans. Yes we have had a awfull owner with master bates we all wanted a change and now we have new owners what do we do? Moan! From what I can see gfh although not flush with money have taken some good steps forwards in the little time from the take over. I say let's show the world why we are the best fans in the world by how does the song go again oh yes marching on together!! Leeds leeds leeds

Believable18 Unbelievable5

Total rubbish mate, if you want to accept what we've seen this season then you would be better off being a glory hunting man united fan

Agree8 Disagree15

Well said mate all this negativaty has got to stop. mot

Agree9 Disagree2

Fans don't care what GFH have had to payout or cover. They knew this when they messed about for 7 months. People at home have debt to clear long before they can think of shedding out that little extra for match day. So I think they need to dig a little deeper or come may, what will be the point in getting a season ticket, when there going to try and build a team from are youth. You bring youth through as there ready not build a full team from them, this could destroy what comfidence they've built up already.
I say why buy a club and not have a transfer budget to atleast get fans a little bit excited. We don't want big bucks but more than what we've seen.

gfh are an investment bank wasnt it investment banks that have got the country and world in this state they gamble without a clue of witch way it will go. gfh are chancers and its gone wrong allready for them and they don't have the money or knowhow to put it rite. I for one won't be giving the crooked bankers any of my money untill things change. the bulldog

Believable6 Unbelievable9

Not giving bates my money, not giving GFH my money, we'll get another new owner soon & won't be giving them my money because, why don't so called fans just get on with supporting the team instead of trying to justify not going to games.

surprise result by tomorrow tea time. If we can't
beat them first time round wouldn't it be great to have Man City back at ours?

Agree3 Disagree2

Arsenal aren't man city

Agree2 Disagree3

Arsenal aren't Man City. But suspect they got a result at Southampton. City are not immune from sloppy performances against teams the players perceive as weaker and some of the foreigners will not have the same passion for the FA Cup. At least go into the game with a faint dream of optimism - leave realism till the final whistle!

Well Bates did say that he hated us, and would like to see leeds united out of football for good. He is still there people, we have all been conned by the cockney spiv and will continue to do so while he remains in any capacity dispensing his "advice". He stated that he has LUFC's interests at heart yet he "sells" the club to some like-minded arab spiv's and continues to milk lufc from afar with assistance. We will be forever away from the PL whilst we retain an association with bates. Gfh has been another way Bates can squeeze more money from lufc. I for one am not going to suffer this toilet any longer. There is only one solution to this, he needs to go. No honorary positions in this club for him, he has spent his time at leeds insulting the club and fans, and we have taken it, like the mug punters we are. The lack of ambition shown by this club is depressing.
Come on Pearson, make a move and restore some dignity to this great club of ours.

The David Conn article is enlightening. I interpret there will be little funds for transfers in the summer.
Warnock position I'm still not clear what their plans are from Conn interview. IMO if NW is given a new contract for another season nothing will change, we can project what we have now and where we are now to being same this time next year!

I can accept GFH not spending big on squad in summer, but they should understand a change in manager who will bring football back to ER and use mixture of youth and experience.

Glad to read they acknowledge investment is important key factor. Also good to have they come forward with statement about B#####d Bates 13 Million loans farce.

I think Warnocks interview on Football Focus said it all. Its HIS glass that is half empty.
Time to go, off to Cornwall with you. There is no way you will get offered an extension to your contract and the fans don't want you.
This is YOUR Leeds United team and you have failed miserably. The fans have voted with theeir feet and continue to do so.
Secure our championship status and blood the kids.

Just finished watching Football Focus and tv Soccer Saturday, we have become a laughing stock. The "experts" ripping GFH apart. I've got to say they are right, clearly the new owners have no ambition, no ability to financially manage the club to the next level, without either selling Leeds or at least a large amount of shares. They clearly thought that as dealing with Bates was to difficult for most would be investors, they would buy us and then sell us for a profit. Unfortunately, if someone wanted to invest in the club, would selling your top goal scorer really encourage a union with a group who have little to no knowledge about running a Football club? It's sickening really because we all know if someone came in, with money to invest in the squad the fans would flock back, we could easily rejoin the elite clubs in this country. Instead we've had to endure a decade of shady business men attempting to make a profit on the cheap out of once great name. It's time for this to end.

My views on the squad at Leeds United.

Gk Kenny - Good goalkeeper but no better than Ashdown. My view - High wages, Sell and get off the wage bill. SELL

GK Ashdown - Good reliable goalkeeper on low wages. First choice keeper for championship. Keep with a younger goalkeeper warming the bench. KEEP

RB Byram - Huge potential, Future premiership and possible international full back. A must keep, Build the team around him. Key player. KEEP

RB/CB Peltier - Plays well at centre back it seems, useful squad player, better out their, ok at this level. replacable. SELL or BACKUP

CB - Lees - Huge potential, England u21 defender, getting better and better, replacable yes, but local lad and gives 100%. Must Keep, build team around him. KEEP

CB - Pearce - Good defender at this level, Good attitude too. Championships John Terry lol, replacable yes, but a Keep for me. KEEP

CB - Bromby - Local lad yes, but well past his sell by date. Currently injured and getting paid until Warnock retires. Time to release and get off the wage bill. Never really cut it in league one either. SELL OR RELEASE

CB - Kisnorbo - currently on loan at ipswich, injury prone, but gives 110% every game. i'd keep at this level as backup, otherwise allow to move on. couldn't play every game. Definately wouldn't have the pace to perform in the premiership consistently. We love kisbo tho. SELL OR RELEASE

LB Warnock - Strong left back at this level and definitely a few more years left in him. A first choice left back for any team in this division. KEEP

LB Taylor - Definately our left sided Sam Byram. Huge potential. Should be in and around the first team and fighting for a place.

LB/LW White - Huge potential who could play higher level. need regular games. Build team around him. i'd love to see him play down the left with Warnock behind him. KEEP

LW Varney - Played better recently. replacable tho. sell and replace with better. SELL

RW Hall - Waste of money. Not been given a chance either. Not good enough for premiership, all we know is he played well in League one. replacable. get off wage bill. SELL

CM Norris - an average championship player, not good enough for premiership, replacable. not a top defensive mid, not a top attacking mid, in the middle really, doesn't really bring much to the team. SELL

CM BROWN - cannot fault the effort of Brown, runs round being a nuisance, strong in the tackle, old warhorse. he's a defensive ball winner and doesn't bring anything else to the table. Getting old now, too old to play next year. SELL or RELEASE

CM Green - another midfielder who doesn't have the attributes of an attacking mid or a defensive mid, but Green will work hard and get from box to box. Plays internationally for Ireland. Replacable tho. useful squad player. KEEP

CM Austin - Defensive midfielder, good in the tackle, makes good surging runs, but his passing and shooting at times can be awful. i'd ask him to concentrate fully on winning the ball, protecting the back line and playing it off to a more creative player. if he did that, he could even play higher level. KEEP

CM Tonge - another old stalwart, his attributes are his passing ability, can shoot too, but due to his age, no pace, Tonge should be in the team now, but next season for me would be a bit too much. SELL or RELEASE

CM Thompson - a young kid released from everton, battled hard at leeds and forced his way into graysons plans, looked neat and tidy on the ball and wasnt afraid to win the ball back. however one late challenge playing out of position at right back, saw him recieve a red card, a public rollocking infront of home fans by neil warnock and never played for the club again. currently out on loan, warnock has done this to charlie taylor and dom poleon too after making costly mistakes in games. all have not played under him since. i'd like thompson around the first team and to be given anothher chance. KEEP

CM Dawson - currently training with the first team, recently impressed for Wales u21, consistently impressing for the reserves and youth academy. A creative young attacking midfielder in the same mould as Howson. Hot prospect. KEEP

LM Pugh - currently out on loan. another midfielder who seems to be one of those in the middle. More of a utility man. For me Danny Pugh performed superbly this season versus Everton in the cup at left back. At this level Pugh for Leeds would be a backup player, he won't change a game coming off the bench but could definately do a job when needed anywhere on pitch really. if he's on high wages i'd sell, but he has a great attitude and is a top pro. so if on low wages I would keep as backup. replaceble tho. SELL

ST McCormack - after Becchio leaving, Ross is easily our best striker at the club. One of the most creative options in the current squad. KEEP

ST Morison - new signing, yet to probe himself at Leeds. Norwich weren't wanting to keep hold of him, should be a good striker at this level. KEEP

ST Habibou - who? like Hall, either play him or or let him return after his loan spell to his club. Looks a presence in the air due to his height. KEEP

ST Somma - Injury prone, good player tho, superb finisher. Replacable? yes. Play him or sell him. adds a bit of flair to the team. I say play him. KEEP

ST Diouf - the most gifted player in the squad, lost his pace but plenty still to offer. would rather have him on your side than against your side. KEEP

ST Poleon - another victim of warnocks punishment after making over a handful of appearances this season, showing signs of pace, ability, promise, he made one costly mistake covering for the left back and showed signs that he isn't the best marker in the world, well that's why he's a striker? Warnock dropped him after this and hasn't played for the club since. for me he could be very useful at this level and his pace would change a game. KEEP

That would drop the squad size down to 17/18.
Add Ross Barkley to that team and you would have a very promising squad Mr Warnock.

LUFC Squad.
Ashdown, Byram, Lees, Pearce, Warnock, Diouf, Barkley, Austin, White, McCormack, Somma, Green, Morison, Habibou, Poleon, Dawson, Thompson, Taylor.

SELL or release

Kenny, Peltier, Bromby, Kisnorbo, Varney, Norris, Hall, Tonge, Brown, Pugh.

1 good central defender.

1 good creative midfielder (barkley) or 1 good right winger with crossing abilty.

thats all we need to add next season, or now to get promotion.

Weve gone from Chelsea pensioners running the club to Sheffield pensioners managing the club and now we have warnocks pensioners playing for club.

The good news is we still have the makings of a good squad. Next season is definately our year when warnocks leaves. We are going up!
Fingers crossed for the right manager to be appointed.

mostly agree with your assessment - i'd keep Tonge - he's a better passer than anything we have and chips in with goals.
Id let Habibou go back and also release Somma - I don't see him ever being fit enough now.
Sad but true. And he never really proved he was the answer - just flashes mainly as a sub.

Please look at the blog done today by David Conn of a well known national newspaper, he has done an interview with GFH, its called

Crock of gold remains a mirage for Leeds United.
New owners need further investment but tell disillusioned fans they are in it for the long haul.

Very interesting blog, the owners are talking about sustainable development of the team and they will not necessarily be pumping millions into the squad, also explains the amount of money Bates mortgaged upfront for building works which they have now got to ride out financially, also explains what will happen with Warnock

What an interesting article. First concrete news I
have read from GFH. Salem Patel actually saying
stuff. Although why he's saying it to the Guardian
and not to the fans I am not sure.

Agree5 Disagree0

Have just read the Conn article;

why on earth didn't Haigh and Co come out and say this earlier, it just defies belief.

It makes sound business sense and I for one do not want to return to the PR era!

What I find difficult to digest from the article is GFH are looking for investors (FACT), an investor turns up but GFH refuse their offer;

so are GFH looking for investors or
not!

I've supported LUFC since the early 70's and I'll continue to do so but; I still can't see the storm clouds clearing any time soon.

Let's cut to the chase; sack NW now!

give him a five year contract and a five year goal.

Adkins is not going to be joining us. He is waiting till the summer to see what options are available then. If Warnock gets sacked before the end of the season we will only have a caretaker manager till the summer.

Top targets for GFH as new manager are either Poyet or Robinson, both of whom play nice passing attacking football but won't be available till summer.

I think one good result in the league could make all the diff. football is about confidence an a little bit of luck if we get a little bit better rub of the green things will get better. One other thing is I thought us Leeds fans were here at least until the world stpos turning round if so we should stop moaning an gwt on with supporting our beloved team. Here's hoping we get battered against city, so we can get warnock out ASAP and Adkins in and so warnocks last memory of leeds is having 6 thousand Leeds fans telling him to f. off! Mot {Ed013's Note - Whats to say Adkins would replace Warnock? The FA cup will not decide a managers fate, the league will. Are you one of the 6000 fans that have paid to go to City? I for one have not paid to go and see Leeds United get "battered" and would never want my football team to lose}

Believable0 Unbelievable11

Well said ed, I hope leeds win every game! Some people need to remember we are all in this together, here for the same cause. Forget agenda's! Everyone should care about the club and question where it is going and question those ultimately responsible from the players' to the manager to the owners! But as soon as the team take the field we all should support Leeds and pray for a positive result, ever single game!

Agree7 Disagree1

Could not get a ticket like many others, although would love to be there just. To tell warnock to f. off after we've been walloped, I do not want this Pethetic man to take anything from my team, not even one good memory, he does not deserve it, my opinion and I am entitled to it, I have spent nearly a grand watching this rubbish this season so I am entitled to my view.

Agree2 Disagree2

You would never want your team to lose? Even if it's for the long term better for the club?how can you call yourself a real fan?you need to be a little more un selfish to be real fan!

Agree3 Disagree1

I think his fate is allready decided and sunday may be his final game.
i am 1 of the 6000 who paid to go sunday and I hope we win but a draw would be fantastic to bring more revenue in

Agree6 Disagree0

I do not see the point in changing the manager now, it won't cost a lot t dispose of Warnocks services but will cot a lot to bring in the right manager, money which we obviously do not have, even ig GFH did find the money to change the manager then we did get some investment we would probable want to change him again in the summer. GFH seem to be saying they are here to stay which to be honest is what we need right now STABILITY. With the best will in the world we will not get promoted this year so I would like to see GFH given the breathing space by the fans to bring there plans to fruition. I personally would not choose Atkins as our next manager he has done quite well with Southampton but he did it on a very healthy budget and I do not see us having that any time soon, I would like to see Poyet brought back he is young, has had some success and he has his team playing attractive football, but which ever manager we employ it must be a long term appointment because keep chopping and changing a manager is not productive.

Life and football is about partnerships. My wife and I are in a partnership, and LUFC is in a partnership with the fans. Remember one can not function without the other. So the secrecy from GFH is really annoying me. Do they look at us as fans/partners or mugs? Do not keep us in the dark. Tell us what is going on and we may even understand! But to say nothing is not acceptable. If I did that to my wife, it would end in a divorce. I do not want a divorce from LUFC. but I am losing interest quickly.

There was no one happier when we got new owners but GFH I've got to say I'm not impressed. When you came in you said you wouldn't have purchased the club if you didn't have the investment to take the team forward. 8 weeks later you state you are willing to sell a 30% stake because you need the money but you will only sell to an investor that has the money to take the team forward. Yet you won't relinquish majority control because you don't want to lose the money that you might get if we get to the premyet you haven't got the money to invest yourself to buy the players needed and the wages required to get us to the prem

Believable12 Unbelievable0

Wait for the summer mate. i'm glad we didn't spend loads in january with warnock still here. If they keep him them yes I definitely would be disappointed, but i'm clinging onto the hope that they will sack him and give the new owner (hopefully adkins) a reasonable war chest to spend on good, YOUNG players not old codgers. But no one can complain about brown to be fair, he solidifies the defence in midfield and is probably on miniscule wages.
