For all the people wanting our current manager sacked, who do you think would want to take over..can you imagine the interview with KB.
so how much money will i have to strengthen the team Ken?
Ha Ha did you say money old lad i am afraid i don't give managers any of that, what we have here is a 'pot'
and whats in it isn't worth pissing in..time a lot of people realised this, fair enough larry plays a lot of players out of position and gets his tactics wrong (as all managers do at times)but with the pittance of a budget he has worked on we are about where we should be,lets be honest a lot of us think we have over achieved with the current squad, lets stick with/by grayson till the end of the season and see what happens...this maybe his last window for once lets hope he looks out of it and sees the right players we need,if so we are not too far off to mount a challenge for a play off place...i know a lot will disagree with this but there is far too much negativity around the ground/club at the moment,we all pulled together when we were minus 15,its time to do the same again and support the current team/manager till the end of the season...rant over {Ed025's Note - good rant mate..

Believable7 Unbelievable6

Wheres your evidence to support that Grayson is working with a pittence of a budget? KB and SG have publicly stated there IS money available to strengthen the squad - we have a massive wage infrastructure based on poor signings, irrespective of loans or freebies all of which Grayson is accountable - his coaching staff is abysmal and his team selections and tactics are questionable..! worst Leeds team since 1984. PS please stop posting we are 3 points off a playoff, we are also several points off a relegation dogfight, nothing but six points in our next two will be good enough to save Grayson -

Agree5 Disagree3

I would say judged on the signings we have made..brown rachuba and o dea on loan,we obviously don't have a great deal of money to spend..that's the only evidence us fans get to see

Agree2 Disagree0

No need to speculate - the evidence is in the accounts - in the public domain just as with all other companies registered in England & Wales. Bates has also publicly stated we're not a buying club and mainly looking at frees & loans.

Grayson has improved our position every year despite a negative net expenditure of about 10 million over 3 years. Anyone who thinks that is poor performance clearly has little knowledge of football history. Sometimes teams overachieve in relation to their expenditure and Leeds have been doing that. Generally though, success follows the cash - Blackburn under Jack Walker, Chelski, Man City...

If we want to be back in the premiership we need investment in the team. Look at the respective fates of Crawley (investment in the team, flying up the leagues) and Darlington (investment in the ground not the team - out of the league, on the brink of bankruptcy)...

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2012 22:11:20
Hi can I just say I'm getting sick of all the negative posts on this sight I understand people have the right to voice there view but the best way to get of this slump is to back the lads things could be a lot worse look at Darlington! Let's stay united! Mot

Andiroo

Believable3 Unbelievable5

Look at leicester and ipswich who spent big, new managers etc doesnt guarantee success! might help if we stick together and get behind them

Think Simon should see out season, but if he does go the right man for the job would be Dave Jones. {Ed003's Note - Good shout }

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Dave Jones would be a great shout. He doesnt play most players out of their position unlike Larry!

Agree6 Disagree2

Yes IF we lose Larry - cos we lose more games - which may happen folks ! then a change is justified what ever peoples feelings for Larry are on here - and the best man would be Jones I agree - not warnock - David Jones gets on with job - lots of experience good and bad - steady hand and a decent welsh man

Agree2 Disagree0

He ain't welsh. he's a brummy.

Agree0 Disagree0

He ain't a brummy or a welsh man....... His accent gives it away... He's a scouser

Agree3 Disagree0

I'd be gutted if that slimy Scouser came near our club. We really are in the mire if he takes over. Rubbish track record even when given money to spend. Has never taken a club forward, just kept the status quo or worse. No thanks.

Agree2 Disagree0

No he's from mars.

Agree1 Disagree0

Dave jones aint a brummie or welsh hes a scouser

I'm finding it extremely hard to understand why Simon Grayson is not talking to the media
Come on Simon show yourself !

Believable4 Unbelievable0

No way would jones come to Leeds he hates our fans whith a passion I take it you have never been to a Cardiff Leeds game when jones manager ,The no smoke whith out fire song .he has said Leeds fans are vile after games in interview. But watt I think is vile is the amount off money he was able to spend at a club whith money problems at the time,And he still couldn't get them promotion ,Give me larry any day !!

Agree0 Disagree1

Maybe cos he does not want to? just a thought.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he should stay quiet and get on with his job. He does not need to come out and make a statment, he's clearly going nowhere yet or he would have gone.

MOT with SG

Agree0 Disagree1

He just needs to come out and say something to the press/media even the usual rubbish about transfer targets one or two in by end of week etc

Grayson has the full backing of Bates.

I have heard that the Delph signing is a done deal!

I think he will be the missing spark when it comes to creativity, now all we need is Becchio to get his confidence back of Forsell to be given a few run-outs to prove his worth!

Tonnes of praise for the lads at the back at the minute, the are doing well and Lonners is doing a great job as well!

We all love Leeds!!

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Good post and I feel the defence is improving but Thompson not the answer at right back. Play him CM where Brown plays and get a solid right back!

Agree2 Disagree0

Original poster - yeah I think O'Dea and Lees are getting a decent partnership going and needless to say Aidy White has been class from what I have seen!

I think you are right about Thompson mate, the kid is going to be golden but needs a solid run in the holding role just to make the position his own!

I don't know if anyone will agree with this, ed included, but I think Grayson may very well be saving funds for if we do get promoted an using every other resource we have to get us up there...I say this because I work in insolvency and understand what would happen should we go up and that would be that the majority of the 'promotion payout' would be eaten up by the creditors...therefore if we can get promoted without spending we would then have more cash for more class next season! Or am I just being hopeful haha!! {Ed025's Note - just being hopeful mate..

Agree2 Disagree1

16 Jan 2012 17:15:29
Im sick of all the twaddle on here. Graysons going nowhere . if you want instant glory grab a prawn sandwich and piss off to scumchester.Slowly but surely this team is improving . If we get a new manager in we start from scratch all over again. stick with it i say it will come with patience. {Ed025's Note - well said mate..

Believable5 Unbelievable6

No way is the team improving

Agree5 Disagree3

IMPROVING, where , when, how, Defensively awful and we have been since promotion, Midfield weak and always look overun, Attack of which use to be are saving grace has now gone AWOL .tactics shocking , form dismal 4 points from 15, 5th in dec it's on 3rd week in jan and were 11th and on the slide ,embarrassing defeats at home I can still hear the Blackpool/ Barnsley fans singing, this season is on the brink of over and I can't see Grayson pulling it round.

Agree4 Disagree3

Y can hear every teams fans at elland road atmosphere is shocking

Agree2 Disagree0

If I'm not wrong we were league one two seasons ago and we've been in and around the play offs for last two seasons. We beat the scum and got good draws against Liverpool and arsenal. We separate the wheat from the chaff with the turnover of cheap players we sign or loan. Bates won't alter the pay structure or spend money we ain't got. So let's lay off Grayson . Like I said the other day, it could be worse we could be Leicester . Spent money and floundering.

Grayson to leave and Lucas radeba to take over till end off season. FACT!!!!

Believable0 Unbelievable8

You know someone whose friend walks his dog with Ken Bates's gardener? Think we'd need to see a bit more evidence...

Agree1 Disagree0

1st I don't think he will leave on his own accord, 2nd Lucas isn't the man to take us forward. The ex player come manager has never worked at ER.

Who is Lucas radeba ? {Ed025's Note - its only spelling mate...get over it..

people on this site will get grayson the sack half will not go to the games half are just cyber supporters get of this back

Believable5 Unbelievable5

I don't wish him the sack, but on current form something has to give, 4 points from 15 is not play off material, only a run of wins can save him from the inevitable,Managers live by results irrelevant of the performances.

Agree2 Disagree3

HURRAY! At long last someone talking sense. Cyber supporters, Football Manager experts, keyboard warriors, I'm sick of them all!

Football management is not easy. The Championship is an extremely difficult league to gain promotion from.

I know these transfer windows are usually frustrating things, but stick with the club. If we can sign Delph, Andrews, Lichaj and a commanding centre-half (and I notice none of these "pundits" come up with any realistic targets) we will have every chance of a happy end to the season.

Stop pulling the club to bits. There looks to be a crisis of confidence at the moment - a couple of good wins will change all that. I only hope the players don't look at internet sites such as this, how would you expect them to feel?

MOT!!

Agree3 Disagree3

I wish him the sack, i have wished him the sack since jan 2011

Agree4 Disagree4

I hope you don't get the sack mate, because if you do you will have more time to spout drivel on here.

i must say i am very disappointed in all this hounding out SG, has has done very well with us and think if the purse strings wernt so tight he would do better, admittedly i do think some ov his tactical decisions are poor at times, but he like the team are still learning, i kno its a results business but so is club stability and between SG and hate to say it KB we have that. But we do need something to happen somewhere in the club fast b4 its too late. dont 4get tho we are only sat 1 point out of the playoffs.....M.O.T

Believable4 Unbelievable6

Erm I think you will find its 3 points not 1

Agree4 Disagree0

It is deserved if our team perform like they did 2nd half of last year will will be relegated for sure!

Just wanted to put this out in the public domain as lots of people say that bates does not invest in the team here are the facts from the current squad not including loan players. Leeds have bought 8 players, signed 11 players on frees, and have 6 players from the academy in the first team squad. You can see the breakdown below. Question what is your thoughts?

Andy Lonergan – Undisclosed Fee
Alex Bruce – Undisclosed Fee
Andy O’Brien – Undisclosed Fee
Adam Clayton – Undisclosed Fee
Danny Pugh – Undisclosed Fee
Leigh Bromby – Undisclosed Fee
Zac Thompson – Undisclosed Compensation
Ross McCormack – Undisclosed Fee

Paul Connelly – Free
Patrick Kisnorbo – Free
Mika Varynen – Free
Michael Brown – Free
Billy Paynter – Free
Luciano Becchio – Free
Lloyd Sam - Free
Mikael Forsell – Free
Ramon Nunez – Free
Robert Snodgrass – Free
Maik Taylor – Free

Jonny Howson – Academy
Ben Parker – Academy
Aiden White – Academy
Tom Lees – Academy
Alex Cairns – Academy
Lewis Turner – Academy

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Grand total £12.98 and a bad of salted peanuts

Agree3 Disagree2

The question is how many of these could you get rid of? I know i would get rid of about 8 or 9 of these players. Not to mention the fact that we still have no idea what bates has got or what he`s spent?. DP.

Agree4 Disagree0

Didnt we pay a fee for Becchio and Snodgrass?

Agree3 Disagree3

I'm original poster, snodgrass and Becchio was both free as there contracts had expired. In response to getting rid of players i would clear out Bromby, Connelly, Brown, Sam, Forsell, Taylor, Paynter, Parker, O'brien. I could accept arguments to get rid of Bruce and becchio although however I believe both players confidence is shot and the current set up explains allot about both players performances.

Agree2 Disagree1

Reasonable post, maybe I am following Leeds a bit longer than most of those who say that Mr Bates does not put money into the club, or try to at least have some facts at hand to back up what point Iwish to make.
Please remember the fees paid for players no longer at the club, I reckon close to £2million,
p.s. for the Grayson out clowns, my source says that he missed the after match thing because the Dalai Lama called him to make up a fourball at a charity competition because Elvis had to cancel at the last minute as his current girlfriend, the tooth fairy, had gone into labour.

Agree0 Disagree2

The problem is as Eddie Gray said on YR, it's hard to get rid of players that are under contract, most if not all of these won't move without being paid off.

Agree2 Disagree0

Thought snodgrass was 150k almost certain

Agree4 Disagree0

We paid we payed 280,000 euro's for Becchio

take from our o/s(player profile)

leeds will do most of there buisness on the last day and that,s when players will be leaving ken bates does not care about leeds wot so ever he hates leeds and said so when he was chairman of chelsea

Believable2 Unbelievable4

First and foremost, Bates is a businessman. As a businessman you do not enter into a venture without the aim of making a profit. To make a profit at a football club you must be successful, so although the vast majority of us cannot agree with the way he conducts the running of LUFC (myself included), I do understand that (in his mind) it is ultimately for the best of the club.

What is up with everybody, Grayson must be like all of us at the moment, frustrated at the lack of results, just because he has not spoken after the Palace game does not mean he has been sacked, we ran a very good Palace side ragged for long periods of that game OK against 10 men, but all the same we looked good on the ball and the speed of the passing was too much for them. Injuries and lady luck have been against us for the last few weeks, lets all stop moaning and get behind SG and the team, As far as Bates goes he was the backbone behind us surviving bankrupy so come on, the team we have with some additions is more than capable of promotion, this league is very ordinary and with a luck change we can still go on a run that will secure the playoff's and even automatic promotion, the top two are very patchy at the moment. If anyone as seen a better side than us this season then please let me know. And finally dont forget that we are LEEDS and evrytime we play it is the other teams big game and they all are gunning for us, all the grounds are full and the atmosphere makes ordinary players perform at a higher standard, this is what we have to put up with week in and week out, who the hell cares and looks for the Southampton fixture at the start of the season, i can tell you all the sides will look for the Leeds fixture. maybe its time to think about giving 1 of our young strikers a chance to prove a point ,they cant possibly score less that the strikers that r playing at the moment

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Dont think simon would even think to do this as we all know what hes like.. Only brought in thompson cos the team was shocking but he proved a point!.. Fans need to state this point at the game f they want younger stirkers to playi

Simon Grayson hasndonena superb job with Leeds, the players shouldntakensome responsibility, and i do not believe bates has the desire for topflight like the rest of us. Get your wallet out or sell to somebody who will

16 Jan 2012 12:30:06
just to clarify to all the rumours on here, beckford
is able to sign for leeds as everton are in a different league i can confirm this as a recognised member of the football association. also the reason why simon grayson is not performing is because of ken bates who is above him and will not give him the funds to spend so it is not the manager but the owner. i am a leeds fan and would like to see grayson stay and bates put his hand in his pockets MOT beckford to return soon delph is in the pipeline.
Samuel H*****d

Believable3 Unbelievable3

I believe that a manager should first and foremost be able to get the best out of the players currently at a club. The amount of players we have signed who should be more than comfortable at this level and are not performing is ridiculous. Look at how many players have left us and improved, when we start getting the best out of the players we have, is when we need to start spending money on people, otherwise we will just have a squad of expensive missperforming players, rather than cheap ones.

Agree1 Disagree1

Absolutely no chance of Beckford returning. His current contract at Leicester is huge and far more than anyone will ever get at LUFC while Papa Smurf at the helm, and I don't think Leicester will pay £25k a week to Leeds for a loan deal.. Accept it, Lazy Attitude Boy not coming back !

Agree1 Disagree0

Bates wouldnt even pay 7k pw for keith andrews so 25k for beckford no chance

Agree1 Disagree0

Re keith andrews that was 7k on top of what he offered

Agree0 Disagree0

Forget Fabien - yes it would be great but other teams will offer to pay more of his wages than KB will part with.... another smokescreen to mask our inactivity as usual. As for Lihaj he will be staying at Villa cos Huttons a red card waiting to happen

Believable2 Unbelievable1

16 Jan 2012 11:28:30
Its ridiculous how many Leeds fans want former players back.

Alan Smith - Gone at Game
Jermaine Beckford - Cant play for a third club this season anyway.
Eric Lihaj - Theres far better about
Rob Hulse - Not played a competitive game for about 2 years
Max Gradel - Went back to France because he was homesick.

Yes Fabian Delph would add so much to our team so Id take him but in the main, leave the others where they are and move on.

Fans calling for Grayson's head - Who is Leeds through and through, has done a fantastic job with no money - has had to put up with Bates publicly putting him under pressure.

Leeds fans can be so fickle - MOT

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Smith- no
Beckford- he can play
Lichaj- was quality last season,
Hulse- just no
Gradel - is from the ivory coast :s France will hardly be homely , he has even stated he misses Leeds

Delph

Agree3 Disagree0

With no money? o'brien and mccormack cost more than a million.
look what happen to them, inconsistent and won't play the team anymore. That's why Bates not willing give him more money.

I have close friends who work within the Leeds academy and i can honestly say SG is going nowhere even if we mis out on playoffs he will still remain in charge next season. From day 1 Leeds target is championship security not premiership promotion. Look at the money we've spent that is not the behaviour off a promotion chasing team. Sorry to disappoint all you SG haters.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Championship security? Are you mad? We are Leeds not Doncaster

Agree4 Disagree0

Bates and grayson have both said the target for this season was promotion. Grayson even went as far as to say that automatic was the target.

Wonder why Grayson hasnt talked about the game on the official website and it was left to Snodin. I may be reading too much into it. Dont know how i would feel about SG going, definite progress made under him although at times i feel he may have taken us as far as he can

Believable2 Unbelievable2

If you call progress going backwards then yes definite progress.

Before some of you try to cut me down, Grayson style of football, tactics, substitution, media statements, transfer record is all proof that he has taken Leeds backwards. Leeds used to play football not anymore!

I really really hate him as our manager!

Agree6 Disagree2

Thats because he has been sacked 2pm OS

Agree3 Disagree3

Original poster, i call League 1 to Championship definite progress

16 Jan 2012 09:30:20
all you people who want Warnock in, yes he is proven to get teams up, but he also brings them back down he next season, thats no what were after, Grayson with a decent budget suits the job, its just a matter of getting the poor guy the budget otherwise we would go up, only reason he signs crap players on frees is because Bates gives him naff all, the 'money' bates says is available is for wages of 2nd rate loan players and free transfers {Ed025's Note - even fergie would have trouble getting leeds up!..without investment it is very difficult...if not impossible..

Believable2 Unbelievable2

I disagree with ed's response in particular without investment, this implies that Grayson has had no money to invest in new players and that he hasn't bought any new players. This is just plain not true. Brendan Rogers got to the premier league on a tighter budget than Leeds and his teams play football in the right manner, Grayson is clueless.

The original comment then you just do what palace did you sack him when he gets us up it’s as simple as that football a business no time for loyalty unless you earn it.

Agree4 Disagree1

Brendan rogers bought scott sinclair for a million we aint spent that much in ages {Ed003's Note - 500k }
