anyone who says we are not getting a new kit know nothing. i was at the end of season dinner and award ceremony where ken bates announced that we will be getting a new kit sponsor and home kit.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

So we are gna have net flights on away kit and a new sponser on the home kit? The blue away kit was for 2years with next year being the 2nd

Agree0 Disagree0

Your talking rubbish, as the above says. The away blue kit is still active and the sponsor for that is Net Flights so we wont have a different sponsor for home, away & 3rd kits. Stop gassing rubbish

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jun 2011 21:20:15
Think you will find net flights no longer sponsor kit just because they have sponsorship on stadium the stadium and the kit is 2 different contracts and the news that they no longer sponsor kit came from club shop manager and he was briefed by the club

Leeds can now take up vieria as he as been released.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

He earns too much, he will want more money and to play for a bigger club.

What a fool Neil Killkenny is, he would "welcome" a move to Hull City (Sky Sports).Burnley, Ipswich, Forest & Bristol City are interested.

Nice one mate, leave the biggest club in the Championship to move to Hull............. Whats the appeal of Hull? It stinks of fish and there club is rubbish. Its like swapping a Audi R8 for a Robin Reliant! Silly boy

Source: Probably every Leeds Fan out there.

Believable8 Unbelievable1

Hull are probably the most likely side to match his and his agents signing on fee's and wages... That's the appeal. He's clearly driven by money and not playing games and getting promoted.

Agree5 Disagree2

Yes mate....he overweight, slow and useless.we dont need him anyway....we just need super howson!! leeds, leeds, leeds

Agree5 Disagree1

That's the most sensible thing I've ever read on this site. If a player leaves to go to a Premiership club, then good luck to him. But to leave Leeds for Hull? What a joke!!!

Agree8 Disagree1

Vieira to Join Leeds after being released by Man City?

Believable2 Unbelievable5

He might be getting on abit but he would be massive un championship

Agree2 Disagree2

Why don't Leeds just get all the players from the past, that have all been released on freebies. Woodgate, Smith, Bowyer, Kewell etc. Let's go back 10 years, and think where in the champions league again. What utter garage, bring in the new not not the old

Agree2 Disagree2

Oh yeah Viera was on £120k a week at City, he won't like £120.00 a week at Leeds

Agree3 Disagree2

We need new players not old crocked hasbeens!

Leeds must come first, not your attachments to old players. Whats more beneficial new hungry talent or players that will not be able to play all the season? Well' be paying for players that'll be out injured. Why dont you all take your sentimental rose tinted glasses off!

Agree2 Disagree1

16 Jun 2011 12:58:35
I've just heard on the BBC news that Jonathan Woodgate has been released by Spurs. I know he's always been injured but as part of a '2 from 3' team with AOB & PK he'd be an excellent addition.

We'd just need a bit of steel in the midfield & we'd be in business.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Its defo the defence we need strenghten not the midfield.......hence our goal difference last year.

Agree3 Disagree1

The midfield didn't cover the defence, which resulted in teams charging at the defence with little resistance. That is why we conceded so very many goals.

Agree3 Disagree0

The midfield do midfield jobs, forwards do forwards jobs, and the defence do defensive work (well we were supposed to). So to say that we conceded goals because the midfield didnt cover the defence is absolute rubbish. The defence were VERY POOR, even the manager and ex players said, and Ken Bates & Simon Grayson have come out and said they need to shop for defenders and midfielders, with defenders being a priority.

Agree1 Disagree0

All the goals came from nothing. bad set piece defending, and too much space between the back 4 and midfield.

Agree1 Disagree0

.........Which boils down to the defence at the back noticing that. Rubbish defence, there's no argument. We would have been promoted otherwise

I'm sorry to all those people who think bringing Smith back to Leeds would be a mistake. Truth is he's a brilliant player and as seen by lifelong Leeds fan Howson they play amazing. Smith Would be an epic signing and personally I would love to see him back. As well as this Leeds legend Eddie Gray thinks he would do an awesome job.

Source for Gray: Yorkshire Evening Post, Gray writes a column

Believable2 Unbelievable4

He's never been brilliant.

Agree4 Disagree5

Rubbish scared to tackle and can't pass. Poor addition if it ever happens

Agree3 Disagree4

No your just think he'll look good with his shirt off.
Moral of the story is he was never that good really, people just blew smoke up his rear because he was Leeds born and bred.
As for gray he changed his tune quick, he didnt want him back last Jan when doing phone ins by the Leeds fans. He stated that old players turning were the wrong direction, and we needed young players at the club for the future benefit of Leeds. So lets not take Gray as the be all and end all of spokesmen. I love how you posters pick and choose what info to ignore, its certainly suits your personal agenda's. ;)

Leeds are linked with south African striker tshabalala. He scored a screamer in the world cup
=====================
if we sign him, his names straight on back of my shirt lmao

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Never heard of him (pardon my ignorance), but then again, going by the standard of spelling usually seen on this site, his real name could be Jackson or Smith or Mackawelumbe or anything really.....

Agree1 Disagree0

If Leeds sign him it will cause a right ding dong ..........

Agree0 Disagree1

He scored the first goal of the world cup in south africa and tbh he wouldnt look out of place in any PL team so if this is true then it would be realy good

Agree0 Disagree0

Could be the next Yeboah... we can dream.

Agree0 Disagree0

A Tshabalala ding dong ................

===================
for experience and cos their good players

Believable2 Unbelievable5

What's your dads name mate?

Agree2 Disagree0

Why would the kit man be at Thorpe Arch now? Who's he "kitting out"? The pigeons?

Utter cretin.

leeds have been strongly linked with several players who have since signed for other clubs... i.e david norris to pompey. the way grayson tends to do business suggests we wont hear of the player till he has signed.. so if you hear a rumour its probably bull... MOT

Believable4 Unbelievable1

There are always some correct rumours )McCormack, Kilkenny, Sam) but I agree, for the most part we don't sign the players the papers link us with

Players that are available on free's that we must have a realistic eye on:

Lee Bowyer - Birmingham
Stuart Parnaby - Birmingham
Andy Reid - Blackpool
Jlloyd Samuel - Bolton
Alan Smith - Newcastle
Jonathan Woodgate - Spurs
Jonathan Spector - West Ham
Daniel Gabbidon - West Ham
Jason Koumas - Wigan
David Jones - Wolves

I aint saying that we should sign all of these players however if any of them sign they would be good additions to our squad, and as they are free's uncle Ken will be happy as long as he swindle the wages!!!

Players on the way out:

Grella - New York Cosmos - Free
Bassone - Charlton - Free
Kilkenny - Hull/Burnley - Free
Johnson - Norwich - Free
Parker - Carlisle - Free
Paynter - Sheff Utd - £450,000

Also it is good to see that Martin Woods move to Chelsea worked out really well for him!!!

MOT

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Please let Paynter goe he is utter garbage

Agree2 Disagree0

Parnaby is awful, I've never once seen him have a decent game, I've only once ever seen him pass a ball to his intended target. Terrible player.

Agree1 Disagree0

Can I just clear something up? Smith isn't listed as a free agent by premier league so not sure he could go on a free? can you help ed?

{Ed010's Note -My understanding is that Alan Smith signed a 5 year deal with Newcastle United in August 2007 which means that his contract doesn't actually expire until 2012.

In the last month, Smith was told by Newcastle that there was no future for him with Newcastle. This means that Smith is free to find another club, with no transfer fee involved. However, if Smith cannot find a club that meets his wage demands or offers him a long term contract or promises him first team football, he is quite within his rights to stay with Newcastle and draw his wages until this time next year, when he will become a free agent.

Agree1 Disagree0

Thanks ed, that clears that up, come on Leeds let's get Smithy!!! :-D

Agree0 Disagree1

Smith has stated he's hesitant to leave if he isn't happy with possible destinations, sounds like he doesn't really want to go. Maybe he'll follow Nolan to West Ham, that looks the most realistic destination, that if he leaves. Which is doubtful, who's give up 60k a week? And even if he moves he'll be looking to alot richer clubs then Leeds. people claim they know he'd take a wage cut.......where's the facts to prove this, or is it hearsay?

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jun 2011 11:40:07
Do we really need j woodgate to shut up our defence? Or do we just need a wood gate

Believable1 Unbelievable1

What we need is a brick wall, as last years defending at times was shocking re: Preston, Barnsley to name a couple

Giles Barnes, Daniel De Ridder, Patrick Vieira, Lee Bowyer & Jason Koumas all free transfers, SG & KB should at least enquire over them

Tshabalala Is a left winger not a striker plus strikers are the last thing on Leeds minds we need defenders and midfield seen as we scored over 80 goals last year we don't need strikers

Simon Grayson is preparing to bring Paul McKenna in for pre season training, no not the one from Forest as someone else suggested, but the hypnotist. It's rumoured that McKenna will be drafted in during the first two weeks of training to help sort out the shaky defence and turn them into premiership class players.

Meanwhile Paddy Kisnorbo is said to be working overtime in his basement, concocting 5000 litres of a self help confidence remedy passed down from his great great grandma, in preparation for the new season.
