Looking at West Broms released players and few there that might be worth ago. chris Brunt, Liam ridgewel, Dorrens and gera.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed013's Note - I thought I heard that Dorrans had been given an extra year}

Dorrans and Brunt both given extra year

Agree0 Disagree0

Would look at Gera if he takes a small wage. Would be a great player at this level.

Does any one else agree with me that in the light of Andy Hughes' release from Charlton he would make a great coach for LU?
He's got the passion, desire & fighting spirit that has been severely lacking over the past few seasons. And if he could pass that onto the players then we might be in with a chance of doing something in the next few seasons.

I agree, I posted something similar recently. I wouldn't mind him doing a bit of playing as well.

: RELEASED: Jamie Ashdown, Michael Brown, El-Hadji Diouf, Adam Drury, Paul Green, Danny Pugh and Luke Varney #LUFC

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good news we need to clear out the older dead wood. MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Only slight surprise to me is Brown, thought he added a bit of steel in midfield when he played. MC must have irons in the fire.
MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree about Brown as for the rest no loss.
I would place Wootton, White, Norris, Austin, Tonge and Kenny on the transfer list.
Give Dawson, Mowatt a chance with a class midfielder brought in Scott Parker or Leon Osman

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd have kept Brown and Pugh in light of their low wages. Both have performed reasonably well this season and provided value for their contracts. They could've been valuable squad players. I hope this means we acquire a decent left back and defensive midfield.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't understand Leeds fans sometimes, moan because we've got no money, then moan when we release mediocre players on huge wages, because they had one or two decent games at the end of the season. We've saved £3m on wages releasing these players, thank God they're gone. Now we need to get rid of Kenny, Peltier, Norris, Morison, Warnock, Poleon, Austin, Thompson and Hunt.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think anyone is moaning about players being released SG. Get a grip and read what people are actually writing rather than trying to find excuses to start an argument.

One or two people think keeping Brown makes some sense since he's played well. Not just recently either. He's played well in pretty much every game I've seen him his year. Pugh has also had some good games throughout the season. Neither of them are on high wages.

We'll all be happy if they're replaced with better players but if not they're both still good enough to be part of a squad. Now go and try start a different fight.

Agree0 Disagree0

They were both on over £10k a week, so yes that is a lot of money. We've saved a lot of money getting rid of two average players and should we spend that on bringing in two better players, the ones who wanted to keep Brown and Pugh will be complaining about them being given a new contract. If we gave everyone a new contract who had good games, then Morison, Varney and Green would all be here.

Agree0 Disagree0

I believe Brown was on 2k a week

Ok I've a meeting with Massimo at 3 pm on Monday afternoon.
Do you want to come with ED13?
Jeff

{Ed013's Note - I am in France, but I am sure Mad Mick would go}

Nice one Ed, Holiday I hope not work, steady on wine.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - Unfortunately work mate, but I will make an effort to taste some wine ;-)

Ask about a pre season game in Ireland sound jeff

Agree0 Disagree0

Pretty certain there is a match in Ireland as part of the Robbie McDaid deal. Might add on some more to make a small tour out of it

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair play to MC not only running the entire club on his own he still finds time to hook up with Jeff, maybe there's a consultancy role in the offing

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed13, wow what a trooper working cup final week and having to force you're self to try the local vino collapso! My hats off to you sir! Lol but seriously does anyone know wtf is going on between mc & bmc reference bmc being AWOL and MC doing the team cull? what's THE NEWS GUYS sounds ominous for bmc serious thoughts or ""in the know comments guys""maybe survivor you ask this 1 serious question at you're meeting onmonday please
Thanks in advance

MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - I know mate, work does tend to do these things to you, but I should be back for the Madrid final. From what I can work out Cellino is trying to make Brian resign so that he doesn't have to pay him off. I also suppose he is hoping a club come in for him as West Brom and Norwich are interested. Cellino needs a right hand man to keep him on the straight and narrow, calling the players and staff back in a month early will only cause more friction and likely see more players leave}

I suppose it's his mc way as you say but it might have been a little different had he known about all the little ( large debts slipping out of the ERs woodwork)said with sarcasm! As god knows theirs bound to be a few more to pop out soon, he may have paid b mc off if, if theses weren't in abundance, gfh bloody sucking parasites,
Ed13 safe journey and thanks for bit of info bud

{Ed013's Note - Thanks buddy}

I'm all for building a young talented squad but would like to see a smattering of quality experienced players to show the way when form dips over a season. It can take a season or more for youngsters to settle here & man up at times. I'd especially like to see that midfield player who commands the ball & creates chances. Something we've been crying out for unless you see Murphy doing that job which I don't tbh

I can live with another year of dreadful football (providing we don't get relegated) if it gives MC (who has impressed me with his no-nonsense methods so far, bar the occasional glitch) time to rid the club of all the freeloaders and incompetent directors. I think he'll need the time as there seems to be too many staff members at Leeds and too many directors with their hands out.

This is just my opinion, but what does everyone else think? Can we survive another dreadful year on the pitch if it leads to us restructuring the whole club?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree & was sayin summat similar to a mate yesterday. Can take another year of rubbish if it means Cellino gets to sort the club - would rather that & still have a club to support than keep haemorrhaging money & go tits up!

Agree0 Disagree0

There is no way on earth I could stand for that dross for a third season. Its playoffs playing half decent football or nothing at all. Its Beyond a joke now

Shaun

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with Shaun. Enough is enough. Can't face any more seasons like this. We've been saying the same thing for years and no progress has been made. Only near-disaster and shame. We have to start next season in with a shout and carry on that way until May.

Just a thought, no rumour.
Pringle YES
Agard YES
Simon Grayson??.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Always liked Grayson's way of playing but his inept signings (with the occasional exception) and woeful defence just cost him too many times. Maybe if he had money and a good defensive coach to tell him where he's going wrong then it'd be good to see him back.

I await the backlash for this .

Agree0 Disagree0

No backlash from me Mr Happy, I think that you state your case pretty fairly, but I for one am never sure that it's ever quite the same when someone comes back.

Agree0 Disagree0

I liked Larry also but the only difference this time MC would be choosing the players to buy. Could any British coach accept that? I don't think so, it spells foreign coach.
MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Grayson would have run through a brick wall for Leeds United. He loves the club. I'm pretty confident he would jump at the chance to be at Leeds again even if he doesn't get to choose all the players.

I think Grayson with Andy Hughes and Richard Naylor as coaches would be a good idea. No one we have now in charge of the first team has as much passion as these 3. Plus Naylor has worked wonders as the under 18's manager.

Not a rumour, just a suggestion. Rudy Gestede from Blackburn.

Picked up some good form towards the end of the season and seems a handful. Been prolific for Blackburn as well.

What do you guys think?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Would be a good signing, I said we should have bought him last year, thought he played midfield at Cardiff but seemed to play as a striker for Blackburn. Is ridiculous in the air though

Vellios has been released from Everton. 22, 6"2 Wickham style player, must be worth ago, how is he not better than Hunt/Poleon. Martinez quoted "he has a terrific attitude"

Believable0 Unbelievable0

So if Martinez is speaking that highly of him why did he let him go >?

Agree0 Disagree0

Because it's Everton - a vastly superior team to us right now.

If he has the right attitude then I'd take him just to replace Hunt. The difference in wages will be huge most likely and this lad has a chance of doing well.

We're a championship cub with a terrible squad. Why can't some people see that still?

Hi Ed

Just looking at your Poll of the Day, which are great by the way.

Think the World Cup will just be a distraction as we try to keep pace with all the changes, ins and outs and everything else that will go on through the summer at ER as the Mighty Leeds prepare to start on the first step to their new destiny.

We will probabley all be exhausted by the time the the first game of the new season arrives.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed013's Note - I fear without the World cup there would be a rise in depression with all the goings on at Leeds!}

16 May 2014 10:41:41
Bw1, hope you are wrong mate, but fear you might be right. The club are heavy debt ridden. Milky bar, you are completly wrong. MC's deal included the Gfh loan and Sport Capital loan as well as the Enterprise loan. Together Leeds offer was just for a percentage of the club. They did not do DD as Gfh would not talk to them. Gfh were only bothered about their loan being paid, as was Haigh. I'm sure Together Leeds would not have been able to pay, or woudn't. Nice of Gfh, our owners leading money to us at generous rates of interest, making money for THEM and putting us nearer financial meltdown. Is this not insider trading. The FL should be looking at this. Owners not paying the wage bill then borrowing money off another part of their business is criminal. The owner before building corporate boxes in a ground we do not own. This is like renting a house and getting a mortgage to do an extension. Our landlord must think it's christmas every day. We pay the rent then add value to his property at our expense.

Hope BMDs mum gets well and all, but to an extent you can't blame MC brining in Carbone as a "consultant", but this guy has wanted BMD out since day 1 (literally). Any excuse will do (an I think we all knew that from the outset), but if these chaps aren't even talking to each other on the phone then this relationship will be severed sooner rather than later.

However I am a little worried that no one is at the club looking at the recently released players. No matter what everyones opinions are of them:

Golsing had been released and has since been snapped up by Bournemouth.
Cole is available, Rowe (i bet the posh wished they had taken our bid seriously now) has been released and there are probably a number more. Free players are going to get snapped up quick this year, with FFP and unrealistic valuations this year and I just want us to at least consider some of these players for the squad.

Given that the 3 relegated teams Cardiff, Norwich and Fulham will all receive tv money of £50million + . Does anyone else think our chances of premiership football are dissapearing.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No not really, Wigan, QPR and Reading came down last year and didn't make the top 2.

who did go up were established Champ sides who had settled sides.

Cardiff will need to get rid of their players first, which means a new squad will be playing next year. Same goes for Fulham, can't see many of thos players sticking around. And Norwich some players will leave, Fer, Snodders and RVW. But the rest will probably stay. They are the only threat.

Agree0 Disagree0

This year Cardiff have just received as much money from premiership as did for winning it last season"". if that's a fair playing field to start from we've had it already

Agree0 Disagree0

An expensively assembled squad doesn't necessarily mean success. Look at Burnley, dirt cheap and done well. But I'll admit it goes the way of the money teams 9 times out of 10 and we could see a future where the only clubs that get promoted to the prem are the three that came down the previous season. I hope it isn't the case, but with ore and more money being committed to the top flight . I can't see a happy future for us who are left behind.

Kept away from here for a week as I'm really busy making a few quid.
Same old stuff from Mick from Lincoln.
Next season is going to be awesome with a totally different team from last.
Told you many times Massimo will be the manager but for some reason he didn't speak to Brian as Brian still thinks he's the manager which he isn't.
After your holiday Brian start scouting for your money please.
Where would we be today without Massimo?
In the basement so to speak.
Next season is going to be great and best of all not in debt to anyone other than Massimo Cellino.
Promotion is his goal.
Jeff

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I thought you were supposed to be meeting with Massimo this week Jeff and getting drunk on Chivas Regal (scotch whisky)?. haha you really make me chuckle. Same old Jeff just another day! Enjoy your weekend and when your back on planet earth let us all know what you and massimo have been up to eh?

Massimo Cellino- Bull in a China shop or just in a rush to get things sorted?

April 2014 - " I'm the Manager, Brian is just the Coach".

May 2014 - "Were's Bran, who is managing the club, who is the manager"?

This could be interesting (to say the least).

Believable0 Unbelievable0

June 2014 - "manager? coach? what do you think this a Football Club?

July 2014 "I am the only one, the director and all the other staff are "consultants""

Haven't they just been released by the club? Doesn't sound like disloyalty or grass is greener. Young lads who haven't made the cut at leeds good luck to them. Hardly forcing a transfer, come on?!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It's a pity. Folk had big hopes for them. Here's hoping Taylor and Dawson still make it.
