Superb to meet Bermo and his lovely family last night in his final performance of The Greater Game, Bermo is a great guy and very talented playwright and actor, The Show was a fabulous production, he transformed this adaptation based on the book "They took the lead" by Stephen Jenkins superbly to the stage and not only that but his Character Jumbo was multi faceted with a subtle mixture of Pathos and humour with some grit thrown in for good measure, The Greater Game is a moving, thought provoking tale of sense of duty to King and country or family and the senseless loss of life that war brings, it leaves you questioning what really is the point of it and who really is the winner! Bermo skillfully mixes the drama with entertaining banter and humour from a really good cast of fine actors, it was good to see Nick Hancock treading the boards along with Charlie clements (Bradley in eastenders) And the humorous Danny Walters (Tiger in Benidorm) all in all a thoroughly entertaining evening. And whatever Bermo decides to do next, you can be rest assured it will be well worth watching 😎.

Cheers Aussie reckon Berm should consider a play on the damned United that would really be a bit of Drama to get his teeth into 😂 😎.

Glad you enjoyed it DJ and thanks for the review. I really wanted to see the show but didn't have the opportunity due to distance and work - real shame and I hope the success of the show means BW can take it on the road in the future. Having read The Damned United and watched the film i'm a bit bored of it now - would rather see something based on a more recent story, like our resurgence from bottom of Div 2 to Div 1 winners or even the Ridsdale era and its ridiculousness.

hello, thanks dj lovely to meet you and your wife and thank you so much for the support and kind words, not sure about a play about leeds as I might find it to sad to write unless I make it bates the musical. I have been asked to write a play about millwall which I find really funny. The show should be going out next year and being streamed and filmed as dvd which is exciting. again great to have the white of leeds amoungts the sea of red leyton shirts MOT.

If Mowatt is lacking pace, why play him on the wing? The only way I would consider it would be to play him on the wrong wing, tell him/order him to cut inside and fire at every opportunity. Alternatively, if Roofe is showing any type of form in training I would start him on the wing and give him an extended run.

Leodis How do you propose Mowatt outmaneouvre his opponent and cut inside? With his experienced tricky wing play polished when he was a youth player? Maybe via that repertoire of Waddle stepovers he's got in his locker? No, that's it. He'll use his searing pace. Playing him on the wing is a feeble idea. If Monk was so against Roofe, he could've played Taylor there and put Denton in as LB. Monk can out with weirdness I don't know what his deal is.

George I see your point but let's be honest every manager Mowatt has played for has played him on the left of midfield on many occasions. Maybe they all at one point or another want a balanced midfield?

I think putting Mowatt (and Sacko) on the wings just shows how inept Monk is and why we will never progress far under him? We seem to go three steps forward and one (or two) back?

You can not call monk inept! The difference in what we are playing now is incalculable! Monk is the man to take us forward! he needs a little more time, making most of the loans perm and a striker and we will be challenging!

Where would you play Sacko? The guy is a winger. Think you are on the wind up Leeds4alongtime.

Morning people, well the game yesterday was pants very poor, we didn't really show up did we! When Sako Pablo and wood don't get going ee just don't look like scoring, again our problem was not enough invention in the final 3rd, and we keep getting done by a shot outside the box because the lads don't charge it down or guard against it quick enough. A very frustrating game to watch yesterday and one we should have at least got a point from Grrr. On a very positive note it was Superb to meet Bermo and his lovely family last night in his final performance of The Greater Game, Bermo is a great guy and very talented playwright and actor, The Show was a fabulous production, he transformed this adaptation based on the book "They took the lead" by Stephen Jenkins superbly to the stage and not only that but his Character Jumbo was multi faceted with a subtle mixture of Pathos and humour with some grit thrown in for good measure, The Greater Game is a moving, thought provoking tale of sense of duty to King and country or family and the senseless loss of life that war brings, it leaves you questioning what really is the point of it and who really is the winner! Running is no use to anyone, for once I can''t knock Woof though, when we played Mowatt on the wing, unfair to both of them?
