Ed, I've built an excel add in wgich pics up the rumours from the leeds site. I was wondering if you'd let me e-mail it you and possible allow you to distribute, just a bit easier for when people want to sneak a look whilst at work.

The code it totally open so you can view it and check that it's safe if needs be.

E-mail me if you want the file and i'll send it over

Cheers and keep up the good work MOT!

Not surprised to see a SG team that can't defend and switch off in injury time. Some things never change league 1 manager at best. So glad that we have NW at the helm look at the players he has attracted with less money than grayson had at his disposal. Squad is infinitely better now. MOT

Believable8 Unbelievable2

More solid definitely but 'infinitely better' is a bit of an exaggeration. No better than our league 1 team in my view.

Anyway - Grayson did a good job for us and is a very young manager still learning his trade. He'll probably improve with experience and we should be grateful for the fact that he got us promoted and then finished 7th in our first season in this league. A decent run by any rational assessment.

Grow up and show some respect instead of trying to make pointless political capital out of a single result. Pathetic, disrespectful post.
ML

Agree15 Disagree5

Joey I know your old man lost but seriously time for bed kido, didn't mean to hurt your feelings and for you to take it so seriously lmfao!

Btw he got us out of lg1 so it goes without saying I'm grateful however I'm not grateful for the dross he signed and left at our club or for the way he man managed players, created a rift in the dressing room and placed Connolly, brown, paynter, or rachubka on contracts that even man city wouldn't hand out!

Agree1 Disagree0

In all fairness they looked solid defensively and a bigger threat going forward then Cardiff that young lad at RB kept Bellamy quiet Whittingham had no impact on the game whatsoever it took them 70 minutes to register a shot on target to work Smithies. So to say they cant defend is very harsh i personally wish Grayson all the best at the end of the day he got us promoted and HE IS A LEEDS FAN too and came through our youth academy as a player. So lets not bitch about one of our own.

Agree2 Disagree0

3rd poster - agree on many of those signings and about his defensive blind spot, and it's not a case of losing my sense of humour, I just think that some of pathetic Grayson-bashng on here shows a lack of respect for what he did for us and the original post here looked like someone looking for the first excuse to have a go. I'm not, and am very rarely, offended by posts on here - it's a banter site ffs!

Just thinking aloud ...

1. Let's suppose that the squad Warnock has assembled is a great improvement on last season's shower but not good enough to look bankers for automatic promotion.

2. That what Warnock meant what he said about the takeover - "I imagine we’ll be having this conversation around Christmas time about the takeover and then probably March" and wasn't saying what he said for some ulterior reason.

3. That the supporters have already been driven crazy with frustration at the non-completion of the takeover.

4. Let's suppose that after a promising start to the season Leeds tank and slip out of the playoff places.

5.THERE WILL BE COMPLETE EXPLETIVE DELETED UPROAR!

Have Bates etc thought of what is likely to happen if the takeover is still something that may happen in the indeterminate future and the club is struggling on the pitch? Boycotts, demonstrations, a sustained campaign by very angry people generally. This would surely do their commercial interests - which is all they care about - a load of no
good.

Thoughts?

Let's face it nobody likes Leeds United, Warnock, Diouff , Our anthem MOT or indeed us Leeds fans ourselves, we have signed players that have suffered the wrong end of this league last season but will have a desire and hunger to succeed this season, a manager who has seen it all worn the T Shirt and knows what this division is all about,Hopefully Elland road will become the place where teams visiting can't buy a win, we will continue to fill every away ground as we always have done,Tomorrow is the start of a new fresh Leeds United so let's get behind the team and going to games and start enjoying ourselves .

LUST have been deadly quiet for the last few days, if it is true that they have access to the potential new owners, does their silence mean that they have been told to keep quiet and that the deal is imminent? Read earlier on TSS someone claiming via a reliable (yes i should know better) source that the deal has been finalised but wont be announced until monday! In my opinion, after keeping his trap shut for 3 months Ken wont be able to keep the news quiet all weekend, otherwise he might explode!

To the person slagging off the spl for being a one horse race, hasn't ur precious epl been like that for years in fact since it started (6 diff winners in twenty years says it all) it's all abt the money as u guys(Leeds) know all about {Ed013's Note - What are you talking about? The last I saw on here was some good fans wishing each other good luck for the new season, I think it was Hearts. I am sure it means nothing to Leeds fans what goes on in the SPL or the EPL as the main aim for Leeds is promotion}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

6 winners in 20 years is a little better than 2 in nearly 30 years and whatever happens to Rangers it will not change in the next 30 years either.

If you like Leeds why did you not come on here and offer support like the Hearts fan did. I very rarely see any abuse towards the SPL from Leeds fans on here and if they do post it I delete unless it is light hearted banter. Believable7 Unbelievable11

Would you care to expand on the "rubbish" we have. I see mostly very solid championship players.

Give me 5 rubbish players we have, the amount of money we would save by getting rid of them, and who you would get in to replace...

Back your argument up please.

Macca72

Agree7 Disagree0

I'm not the original poster, but i can name five players:
Paul Connolly
Danny Pugh
Ramon Nunez
Robbie Rodgers (dont really agree to selling him not given him the chance)
Paul Rachubka

Don't think he was calling what we bought are rubbish.. more that he wants the deadwood out to free wages.

Only dross we have now is Rachubka. Even Connolly is ok every now and again. I am more excited by developing youth we have.

Rachubka 50k-250k?
Nunez 700k-2m?

OS states club are expecting a crowd of 25,000 for tomorrow so not sure why some people on here are adamant club have sold 30,000 plus tickets.

Believable2 Unbelievable6

If we have only sold 25,000 tickets, that is bad news and not a good sign for the season. If 11/12 new signings plus a new manager cant get the supporters out, nothing will. A full stadium is essential to a successful season, why cant benny bates and harvery realise that. They should do whatever is required to fill the stadium. Travelling over from Dublin this evening, cant wait for first game of the season. AidanMOT

Too expensive £31 - £36 quid. Early ko for Live tv...25k crowd pretty good goin!

Agree2 Disagree0

I think we will be nearer the 30K mark... people will come down and buy on the day as well.

L3EDS

Agree2 Disagree0

25,000 is higher than our average last season and this will not include people who turn up and buy tickets on the day. This will be one of the highest attendances in championship even though it is a lunchtime kick off and is live on sky. So i cant see how it is bad news?

Yes but Bates is still in charge, and i put this out to all Leeds fans that have said bad about any potential signing. How many of you had heard of a certain Adel Taarabt before the summer QPR turned them from a team lucky to avoid league 1 to a team that won the championship? I also remember all the QPR fans slaggin Warnock off for signing Kenny just like we have and clint hill Shaun Derry Helgarson etc. This man is the best manager the championship has ever seen when it comes to avoiding it. Now stop moaning, the only time these lads have kicked a ball playing for Leeds at Elland Road they won 4-0. Before you say it yes it was only a League 1 team but whats that saying? Listen, lets put things into prespective a little?

had this talk of the "takeover" not come about then surely this time last year we would have been chuffed with a signing like piquionne?!

i think some of you are a little farfetched?!

yes we would all love to see maynard etc rather that piquionne.

Agree1 Disagree0

Brolin a waster?? Are you high? Brolin was pure quality before he joined us check what he achieved as a player before his time at Elland Road.

To say he was a fat waster is a truely uneducated comment about a man who had a great career as a professional footballer playing at the highest level for many years until injuries crocked him.

If you had have said he was a waster DURING his time with us then yeah I'd fully agree he just couldn't find his old form and was absolutely shocking for us.

Sorry but can't stand outrageous comments like that about a player who was pure quality just because he flopped with us doesn't make him a bad player.

A players career doesn't only consist of when they play for us.

Settle down guys about the icing on the cake. The cake was only being iced if the take over actually happened. No takeover = No icing. NW now has to fill the couple of spots that we are short with players at a low price tag or free. Best of what we can afford is going to have to do. I don't mind PiQ. a couple of poor seasons means nothing. Look at Roscos first season with us. Just as a sunny day doesn't make a summer. Our strike force is looking ok IMO. Rosco, Becchio Diouf Varney and Piquionne in that order until Somma is fit. (Gray is the one I can't understand)Have faith guys 3 - 1 against wolves and we are on our way...In Warnock we trust. MOT

Yeah okay piquione may not be the greatest signing made by warnock but lets just get behind the team and warnock whatever team we have! Bring on the wolves MOT!

Piquionne and Maynard will probably have similar wages at West Ham, so why pay a transfer fee and wages for Piquionne when we can take Maynard on loan for a season which would probably work out cheaper if its money that's preventing us from getting in a proven goalscorer, which Piquionne is not.

well I for one am pleased with the potential deal for piquionne, it was'nt that long ago that he was banging them in in the PL, I know he has had a couple bad seasons since then, but I believe Warnock can get anyone playing there best again.

Also lets be honest he will not be an automatic starter, so therefore He will add very good competition for places, which is what you need.

very good signing imo, cant wait for new season, really hope we can get busaky now and then another CB, squad would be complete for me then.

Believable9 Unbelievable5

Sorry, rubbish.this is a poor poor signing and as for making team nearly complete then no way.we dont need a cb.got lees.pearce and peltier can slot in there.we need the flair now and fp not anywhere in that league..shrew leeds

Agree4 Disagree6

Oh and it wasnt long ago that alan shearer was banging them in but id even have him now at his age than fp

Agree4 Disagree1

I agree very good signing although other Leeds fans seem to think if you hit 30 years old in football you must be sh*t. I even saw someone earlier say Diouf is a non prolific has been. since when is he a has been he was best player to come to ER last season comfortably lol.

Agree4 Disagree1

Op here yeah I agree, I dont undestand why you are past it if your in your 30's.

Also what happens if one or two CB are injured or suspended, we will need a little more cover than just moving peltier to Cb.

everyone has an opinion and I am quite comfortable with the squad we have just now and believe we will stand a great chance of a playoff spot, as for automatic I will reserve judjement until 10-15 games in.

Anyone driving or near ER? A lass I know from work is stuck at ER and has put on that traffic is really bad and there a couple of cameras etc outside ER anyone shed any light as I'm off to bed just finished a 12 hour nightshift

The cameras are there because we are on sky tomorrow thats the only reason

That was brilliant by everyone involved, Us (Leeds) being linked with West Ham team mate Nicky Maynard for a lot of the summer only to find out we have got Frederic Piquionne instead.....genius! MOT SussexLeeds

It is true we have signed Piquionne, 33 yrs old never done a great deal for Pompey or West Ham, to me another signing which has not a lot to offer and shows are lack of desire to bring in a top goal scorer to push for promotion

Believable10 Unbelievable7

Has nobody on here ever heard of giving a player a chance to kick a ball IN A LEEDS SHIRT before slagging them off?
In fact, we haven't even signed him yet.

Pointless, ridiculous moaning post.

Agree13 Disagree4

Whats wrong with this chaps post.lets face it all the players centre forward wise we have been linked with and we end up with a chap who hasnt scored for toffee in years..of course he will get support on the pitch but really is this what we have resorted to now.christ we try to get rid of rogers to generate money to get fred..crap..shrew leeds

Agree4 Disagree4

Everything's wrong with the post! How on earth would the signing show a "lack of desire"?

I repeat, we still haven't signed him as yet and as such I think it was a non-story. I don't think we even want him.

I also repeat that it is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS to slag a player off before we've even signed him!

Does Warnock's track record mean nothing to you? He knows what he's doing. How can anyone call any possible new striker rubbish when we've had the "pleasure" of watching Bungling Billy for the last couple of seasons?

Stop moaning and get behind the manager.

Takeover will be completed however no big signings will be made this transfer window , warnock is building a solid squad that will have us up there come christmas , he will then have access to funds to make a massive promotion push in the new year... Other clubs will over price there players this transfer window if we were to buy them now

Believable4 Unbelievable8

My information is the deal will be complete if not today this weekend my contacts have been dead right so far (very close to leeds) prepare to 'live the dream'

Agree5 Disagree6

If takeover was nigh then we wouldnt be signing rubbish like piquionne...shrew leeds

Agree4 Disagree2

Maybe we wouldn't sign if takeover was near but still think piq is a good squad signing if we sign him as the is nothing on os yet and could be worse he could sign heskey imo would be a lot worse signings than piq.

piquionne scored 94 goals in 10 years. 2000 to 2010 seasons jermain beckford scored 85 goals in 3 season . looks like we are improving on strikers. NOT

Believable6 Unbelievable3

Another moaner never happy how about letting warnock be the judge of who he is signing and then if it doesnt workout then you can start to moan

Agree5 Disagree2

I can understand wy the original poster is moaning wy sign another target man who's scored 19 goals in 94 games not exactly prolific goal scorer is he

Agree2 Disagree3

Piquionne didnt score his goals in League 1 though put it into perspective. Teves hasnt scored 85 goals in the last three seasons is he worse than beckford then?

why spend money on 33 year old Piquionne if similar aged Fuller is on a free? Andy Gray looks destined to become the 'forgotten man'.

Believable2 Unbelievable5

Totally agree..dont often get annoyed and warnock has made some great signings but piquionne for god sake.fuller would be miles better and as ive said on previous post if takeover was imminent then we would be looking at even a 2mill striker which isnt alot to ask for..shrew leeds

I honestly think warnock saying that the takeover won't be completed till the end of the season was just done to take some of the focus off the business side of Leeds and bring the focus to football, if we all think its going to be a year we stop thinking about it and then its back to football talk, feel free to tell me if you think I'm wrong, like to hear others views

frederic piquionne will be fine, big strong athletic. He will give opposition defenders something to think about! OK may not be a marquee signing and a little old, but still an improvement on last year. Who would you rather see warming up him or forsell? I know who'd scare me more!
