Use our rumours form to send us leeds transfer rumours.

Sorry guys but I couldn't resist this one.
Don't yawn yet.
I was just chatting to 2 old Beeston guys in Tesco's 1 aged 95 and the other 94.
As lads they supported Leeds City and then went into the army where they both served with distinction and suddenly I realised its 100 years since the 1st WWar started 28th July so what a way to start the season and fill the ground say Stuttgart or Bayern Munchen(Munich) to you lot.
Anybody think it would work if I managed to get Massimo to agree.
I'm bonkers and I know I am but I can do this.
Jeff

What's to loose in trying? Just one thing. "don't mention the war". Think that I might have got away with it that time!

Agree0 Disagree0

They suppported Leeds City when they were young? They are now 95 and 94? Leeds City dissolved in 1919 after 7 games of the season. Our Leeds United were formed in 1919 and entered the football league the following season. i'm being cynical but the ages and timescales don't add up. Maybe a child who was newborn was a die hard fan of his local club for 7 games, maybe so.

Jeff, I don't mean to be rude to you but I am generally a cynical person. a lot of the stuff you post has been utter nonsense. Youve got a few things correct or close to it but mainly after various news sources mention it and get tracked by news now.

Crmd.
I couldn't agree more. I was just about to send the same message myself.

Haha maths not your strong suit Jeffy boy. Ask Massimo if he will perform with his band at my daughters birthday a while your at it

Agree0 Disagree0

So the younger guy of the two supported Leeds City when he was minus 1? Impressive trick :D

Agree0 Disagree0

All quiet on the Western Front!

Agree0 Disagree0

BUSTED!

Agree0 Disagree0

Jeff, I mean this in the least disrespectful way possible but you seem like the type of guy that wishes he was somebody important (to do with Leeds) rather than somebody that is important!

You keep going though, it's comical if nothing else, thank you.

I notice how Survivor is happy to post on the site and start new conversations but doesn't appear to be showing an acknowledgement of this.

I am 57 years old, and supported Leeds since the early Revie days - that actually IS a mathematical possibility and the truth.

I've also watched John Charles play for Leeds but will admit it was an 'old boys' team - lol!

I doubt ANYONE alive today would have ever watched or followed Leeds City?

Survivor might have the slightest inkling of what is going on these days but he has no idea about the history of football in Leeds?

I really fear the football league are going to screw us up over the cellino take over and not approve him out of spite. They have always had it in for us. And this is too good an opportunity to miss to put the knife in our back. Then we may have to go into administration. And all the fl s fault. As they rub there hands together gleefully and dish out the heaviest penalty possible! I so hope in proven wrong. But can see it happening. Any one else agree?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree with you, in so much that the football league hate us and they always have, always will as well. But they have to act within the law of the land or cellino can take them to court, he'd end up with the league paying for us

Agree0 Disagree0

I totally agree with you mate . everything leeds want or need always happing next week or next month everthing is always close imminent neary over the line it never happens now . don't think this is going come out good why because were a very unlucky club

Bit harsh saying all FL fault if we go into administration! Surely gfh must have played a part?

Disagree mate, I think it will go through

Agree0 Disagree0

FL may well hate us but they ain't mad, if they don't approve deal by going outside their own rules they will get sued for loads of cash, and they love money more than they hate us so they may delay decision a bit but their lawyers are not going to, advise them going against their own rules unless they really are mad of course, will be sorted in 10 days I reckon.

Gotta think positive bob, but it's definitely squeaky bum time! degsy leyland

I do not know what everyone is panicking about. Contracts have been exchanged between GFH and Eleonora Sport Ltd for the aquisition of the 75% stake. This means both sides are satisfied that each other can complete the deal. The only stumbling block is FL approval but this may not include Cellino personally. His company directors of Eleonora Sport Ltd plus any individuals owning 10% or more of the club have to pass the test. It is reported that Cellino will only own 9.5% of the club after the sale so he, personally will not be involved.

Also don't worry too much about GFH and their lack of cash. How many of you exchanged contracts to sell your house at an agreed price, then fit a new kitchen before completion?

Just a note from the commentary match earlier this evening. According to the tv Brighton are the best supported club in the Championship!

Agree0 Disagree0

"but their lawyers are not going to, advise them going against their own rules unless they really are mad of course"

Er, they could always make another rule up as they go along, as in the case of our 15 point deduction?

Leeds are past experts in breaking rules that don't exist until AFTER we do something the FL don't like.

I know everyone is sick of me so after this post I will try to stop but I've tried before and it's difficult.
The players
Mac has to stay
Warnock is ok
Byram is special
Smith will be awesome in a couple of years
How many more have we got who will shine in the Premiership?
Please tell me.
It's ok and correct to say too many changes won't work but this team is very poor and will do well to stay in the championship.
The manager disappoints me and so did Warnock we seem to attract managers who just want the money but are past their best.
Shame Don Revie didn't have a grandson.

Spending no money on players, selling there best players, making very bad management decisions and turning fans against him are just a few things been reported about cellino, all you fans expecting him to spend millions you will be disappointed, if anything expect him to sell our best payers and divide fans.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Right so an Italian bloke who knew almost nothing about us a few weeks ago sells his pride and joy that he has spent 22 years building up spends 40 mill euros of his own money and some (can't swear) thinks he will wave a magic wand and sell all out best players.
Mr we only have about half a dozen decent ones and he already told Gfh (Haigh) not to sell our best player after a £6 mill bid on the 31st.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would you put big money into a club that can not pay for its wages Cagliari only holds 16500 fans so dealing with cheap players making them better then selling them for millions is all a smaller club can expect in Italy. now if he takes over leeds then I feel he will invest a lot more in the team because we've got a better setup and bigger fan base. Hence the "fiat 500" and "Ferrari" comments that annoyed the Cagliari fans and led to the negative comment on YEP. Only time will tell if I'm right but let's all pull in the same direction and MOT.

if I was about to buy a club I wouldn't want the people I was buying off to sell the best players off either because I would want to sell them myself to get some of the money back myself, why would he want gfh to walk away with 6 mil and the money he was going to pay for the club.
personally I think cellino will spend enough to get us promoted to prem league .
cellino is all about buying players for cheap and selling them on for a profit which is basically like bates . the only difference is cellino has enough cash in his account to wait for a decent offer worth taking meaning there's enough money to bring in a replacement player, probably a better younger version as well . its a good way to run a club if you have the funds to replace what you sell .
I know we don't like to see our best players go but if you can replace them with 2 decent players out of the money you make then its all good

Agree0 Disagree0

To the OP, you are spot on mate, I was just about to post something similar but you got too it first. Some on here think he s the new messiah with the millions he s going to spend(not). He s got all the characteristics of a foreign BATES, except we ll have to put up with Italiabates for longer than 8 years. To Radio Survivor, one of his biggest fans of course, (think he s looking for a radio contract)of course he put a block on McC sale on 31st, not because he was showing some resistance to the sale for our benefit, it was because if GFH had of sold Ross they would have kept the money themselves (its not like they didn t need it) this way Italiabates keeps the money himself when he sells him in the summer, he ll be in charge by then and will do what HE wants, hey he ll probably have sacked 3 managers by then. As for the 'fiat' 'ferrari' comment, this guy will say anything to keep us on his side and more importantly to him, get FL to grant the approval. And by the way, Fiat owns Ferrari.

Agree0 Disagree0

Buying players for small fees and selling them on for big money is how Dortmund operate. it has taken them from the verge of bankruptcy to the champions league final in 6 seasons. It's also how LUFC operated while we were playing European football every season (buying JFH for £2m and selling him for £15m is a prime example) Our downfall was spending money we didn't have on players we didn't need. it's good business

CELLINO MARKS THE END OF LEEDS UNITED AS WE KNOW IT. don't believe me just read the article in the Yorkshire Post here -
http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk/sport/leeds-united/latest-whites-news/leeds-united-cellino-divides-the-opinions-of-all-fans-1-6443575
He is far worse than Bates has no respect for fans is just an ego on legs wanting to milk fans. Is the poster called Survivor a part of Massimos mafia? Success has to be worked for other wise it will all turn to nothing - Cellinos promises of a Ferrari - are for him not the fans. Be careful what you wish for. Revie would turn in his grave.

Agree0 Disagree0

Some people on here need to get a grip, cellino sold players in italy due to the low turnover from tv rights and attendances, the amount of money the club can potentially generate in the epl will dwarf any of that received by cagliari, period. we could buy players of large value and still turn a profit just look at some of the clubs in the premiership that are doing it now with lower fan bases and turnovers than what we will have! all the premiership teams bar one or 2 have broken their transfer records in recent seasons
