Amazing how some on here want players with championship and premiership experience and when we get them they become " cast offs " and other clubs rubbish. You can't win sometimes

Well said wex, total agree.

Gotta give boro guy a chance. I wanted someone who can run a midfield. Get stuck in and pass the ball. Seems this guy can do that. Form a bit sketchy but he has the experience in champ and prem! $2m a bit steep though. A bang em in striker and i reckon we could be in with a fighting chance of top 6.

All transfers except free ones are cast offs. Even Neymar. He was a Barcelona cast off.

Yes Forshaw hasn't been playing much under the current gaffer but sometimes certain players aren't for a certain manager and it works out better at a different club with a different philosophy and a slightly different role. Just because he isn't for Pulis doesn't automatically mean he won't do a job for us. Everton just paid £20m for Walcott who wasn't getting in the Arsenal team - does that mean he is hopeless, a 'cast-off' and won't do well?

Not good enough for Middlesborough. Enough said. He is probably another one who has had his best days,

Boro just got a new manager who prob is trying different things with the players snake bought. And Forshaw had an injury earlier in season too. Hadn’t played in about 5 weeks but is fit and ready to play again. A good solid experience midfielder in this league was what we needed so let’s wrlcime him as in my opinion it’s not a bad signing. MOT . just a good goal scoring experienced striker that will get 20 goals by end off season. Should do the trick. ⚽️⚽️⚽️👍😃

I'd be crap at boro as well Some players grow when they wear white My lad likes them scouse folk. His reaction when they signed the Ox wasn't repeatable I said at the time, maybe he needs a manager that believes in him, maybe Klopp sees something in the Ox. Currently my lads favourite player Now. Maybe TC can get this lad back to his previous form If so £2m is a good punt

You know how Pulis plays his teams. Unless he's a 'break yer legs' sit on defence player - he won't make the grade. Forshaw can pass the ball -no good for Pulis, could be good for us.

deal agreed with Boro for Forshaw. Good signing imo. He was excellent at Brentford and in Boro promotion season.

Slightly better than what we've got in midfield interesting to note Orta signed him for Boro from Brentford know surprise there then his goal return is poor for a midfielder, but like I say slightly better than O'kane and Phillips.

Agree3 Disagree1

17 Jan 2018 19:56:13
Exactly type of player urgently required in midfield. His old pal Dallas ought to or is that Orta help him settle in.

Tenuous link to Leeds. Apparently Massimo sacked the manager of his new club in October, but has now sacked his replacement and replaced him with the guy who he replaced. For all of his faults, Massimo was never going to be accused of being boring.

2 goals and 3 assists in his time at boro. another holding centre midfielder, would he be any better than Phillips, o'kane or viera? . appreciate we need cover short term for viera and o'kane who are both out, time to give klich another go, or do people think he's going?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

17 Jan 2018 16:07:29
Klich has burned his bridge. He was badly treated by the club though imo. Best for all parties he is moved on. Expect him to be loaned out to another club right before the deadline.

17 Jan 2018 21:08:11
Woody any good gambler will say if a bet is more than 4/1 it should be backed each way. An each way bet on your horse would have paid a profit. Lucas struggling in this respect but he assures me that will change tonight.

I am not too fussed about us not going for Martin from Derby. He is supposed to 'guarantee' goals at championship level. If that is the case why are Derby so keen to off load him to a rival. If he's not good enough for Derby he shouldn't be good enough for us. Going for British players is fine but its a worry when we are linked with championship cast offs. I thought Ullua might be a better bet however even if we could afford him his goal record over the past few seasons isn't great. The Preston lad is the obvious choice at the moment but I can't see him coming either. A cast off mid fielder from Middlesborough isn't inspiring either.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

17 Jan 2018 14:12:59
Ulloa has not played much in the Premier League to be fair. Good Championship striker.

Agree1 Disagree0

17 Jan 2018 16:14:34
personally if i was manager i'd get ulloa, did well in prem at first, apprently nigel pearson spoke to his team when they went up and said who do we sign up front they all said ulloa, perfect for this level and exactly what we need

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2018 17:44:31
It looks like Aston Villa have got Ulloa on loan! To slow again, we only get interested in players when it’s to late!

17 Jan 2018 08:25:03
Bear with me, I'm being a little bit more serious than I usually am. I eluded to it just below. Assuming we still have the £15m from Wood and the £5m from Taylor in the bank, why don't we use that to put a bid in for a very good or world class player who's near the end of his contract? OK wages may be a slight stumbling block but even at £250k per week that works out at £6.5m for half a years worth of service. Then if we don't go up this year, potentially sell him for a massive profit (say £50m) in the summer. Would certainly be a massive show of intent from Radz, could be a nice little investment and would show the world of football that we mean business, if we don't go up this season then it could attract the bigger players and a bigger name coach come the end of the season. Flawless strategy, don't you think guys? #stilldrunkafterbirthdaydrinkslastnight

Believable1 Unbelievable5

17 Jan 2018 09:45:21
Happy Birthday mate, couple of problems not sure Sanchez will turn down utd and city for us. Also if he is near the end of his contract he would still have to be brought which might still cost a fee. Don't think we should go for Martin as not good enough for derby why would he work for us? there is players out there but can we afford them? I still think the answer is changing the manager but then I always think that

Think radz said wood sale would be reinvestedin team wex. i'm not sure we would have much more than $8 left though

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2018 12:11:26
And what happens when people realise we spend near enough 30m in the summer on players fees, have sold wood to put some of this back in his back pocket, spend a couple million on electronic boards, wasted money on dross like grot, lassoga, cbj, lonergan, cibicki, sacko, and don't forget their wages for the last 6 months. assume for all of those an average wage is around 7000 a week, been 5 months since the season started, that's 20 weeks, 140000 per player, so you're looking at 1m rather than this lots wages, on top of transfer fees of a total 4.5m. i wouldn't expect any more signings, and a dreary finish to another 'what could have been' campaign
