Given the fact that we are due to release a large number of players at the end of the season, does that mean GFH are actually going to put their hands in their pockets and allow Brian McDermott to spend some money? I know that we have a few good youth players in Poleon and Dawson, but we need to quality estbalished players around them. I don't have a problem in signing players on free transfers if it benefits the team, but we have been here before and it hasn't worked. I hope that Brian McDermott can perform miracles and get us back into the Premiership, but even I think that he is going to struggle if he is not given funds.

not a rumor been reading my emails last few moments ( can't sleep and wanted to read all scraps of info on our transfer gossip)
good news regarding the e petition a good lot of us signed a few months ago, when brought to our attention by one of our own fans regarding the research into c. d. h sent to our illustrious peers in government/ health council as it has obtained over 10,000 people ( actual total was over 35,000+ they are going to look into the matter further and could lead to further funding and work! well done each and every person who, signed up and for the original poster who brought it too our attention

could poleon be the new beckford? should he be given a chance? maybe in a 4-5-1?

I think dawson will be given a good chance next year, maybe a lot of the time around the fringes, sub appearances but I think poleon should be given a better chance, his pace and eye for goal could be vital! new RM and CB and creative attacking mid we could be a force!

I have to completely disagree with your comments on Poleon.

I think he is an absolute headless chicken who has very little to offer to our club but if McDermott wants to give him an opportunity then fair enough but I really think he will be no addition whatsoever.

On the bright side I think we have quite a bit of potential within our youth ranks especially Dawson I can see this being a big break through year for him and with a few good signings a quality year for the club all round.

My belief in us going forward is back after dwindling during a horrible time under that demented lunatic Warnock.

Eye for goal. Think he only got 3 or 4 in whole of last season for three different clubs! He looks dangerous with his pace and power but whether he's going to be a top goalscorer we will have to wait and see. Billy Sharp is the man we need. A natural scorer at this level and higher if given the chance. Reminds me of Kevin Phillips and people thought he was a lower division player earlier in his career. The young player I hope breaks through next season is Dawson. Could be a bit like Hughes at Derby and he's some player for his age. Got a feeling BMD will blood a few youngsters next season altough not 6 or 7 like some posters seem to be hoping for. Bring in 4 or 5 experienced players and hopefully some youngsters will take their chances when given. MOT

I hope he is not the new beckford bcoz he won't get in our team. , the only time beckford has been prolific is in the 1st division with the likes of Johnson, howsen, gradel, Snodgrass and becchio around him. he only scored 6 league goals after xmas when we got promoted with all that quality trying to get him chances. has anybody got a chances to goals ratio for him.

Original poster here-seems like everybody wants ready made stars, wake up! gradel wasnt prolific in league 1 for the few months he was with us, he came more into his own when we reached the championship, with the right mentoring who is to say he can't become a class act~?

For god sake give poleon a chance! The boy is 19 and will improve. I followed his progress for couple of year with u21s, 1st team and loans. if he starts he gets 1 goal maybe 2 (no hat-ricks I can recall tho, YET!) he was sub all the time at blades but the scorline improved in there favour when he came on (causes havoc with pace) Bury were raving about him 2 goals in 7apps 3 or 4 as sub. His finishing will improve with age. support all the youth ffs, they are our future. JT-lufc
