Use our rumours form to send us leeds transfer rumours.

I done a post yesterday about the possibility of Wickham joining us. I agree with most replys that it is most unlikely but never the less not impossible. Andy mot seems to think that it is totally out of the question, because he seems to think why on earth would he join Leeds United! Why would he drop a division?! Why would he take a paycut?! Well it was only last season when he was doing the rounds in the championship in Yorkshire. His contract is nearly up. He is not on massive cash at sunderland, about 30,000 a week. So why would he not want to come to Leeds United mate?! Answers on a postcard Andy. Because I can't see your logic pal because even though we are a work in progress we are still a draw for most professionals and i'm sure Wickham would take a paycut with performance related bonuses. We are Leeds after all!! MOT.

For me, I would think it is a question of professional progress. Surely it is a safer bet that he will learn more with a more qualified coach / management team - someone with a healthy, respected reputation and history. I think this is one if the reasons Viviani backed off.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed003's Note - How much more qualified as a coach would you like him? give it a rest and see how he does Dan.}

Hi Corkwhite.
Appreciate your comments pal, but disagree.
Yes He was a journeyman last season and we dropped lucky in getting Him on loan, despite McDipstick playing Him out of position! However, from the moment He went back to His club He showed exactly what premiership quality He is! I agree with wanting him at our club my friend and the asset He would be! Sadly I don't share your dream of it becoming a reality! He will definitely be playing Premiership football this season! MOT my friend

ONLY my opinion mate (we are allowed an opinion are we not?)

I REALLY hope he does sign i'm just stating the obvious but hope i'm WRONG.

1. £30k a week is that fact or a guess? (that would break MCs wage cap) & that's not a guess.
2. A few premier league teams looking at him, would you stay in the premier league or drop down to the championship?
3. Last season he did drop down to us but on what wages? ONLY guessing but might be half the reason GFH were in poo poo land paying his (allegedly) 30k a week.

Have to say sadly I agree with dan and gman, After Saturday I am prepare to give Hock a chance as performance was much better and showed good qualities. However I think Dan has a point it could certainly be seen as a reason to put players off. It may of been a factor with players not signing and I certainly think it was a big fact in Ross leaving. Ed03 you ask how much more qualified a coach would you want? why I agree with giving him rest and see how he does as a player you might want a coach with a proven track record, a better c.v. and win rate and that could be a reason not to sign or sign for someone else. Also gman makes the biggest point, he 'slummed' it in the championship last year then lit up the prem when he went back. His form at the end of last season in Prem probably means he won't want to or need to drop leagues anymore. Sunderland may still want him and if not I think he will get a lot of suitors that would be far more attractive than leeds. Shame but sadly his form probably means either a pay cut and league drop is unlikey certainly not both. Still we got other options so not all bad news as good as he would be for us

What's the story with the kid who signed from ac milan he still hasn't played for us is he injured of something.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I don't get it either, still early days but why sign a player who you are not prepared to use? Don't think Hockaday fancies him, I would have had him on the bench for the last game to freshen the midfield up

Agree0 Disagree0

The fact it's loan with an option to purchase means it's more long term than most loans and we are looking at the kids potential. I remember his first interview he said he aim was to break into the first team which implies he knows he not a guaranteed starter.

In the last few hours Kevin McDonald has laughed off talks of him joining Leeds and has said he is "not interested in the slightest" believing it to be a step down.

Have to agree it would be a step down for him to come here. Would never leave Wolves for us.

Chris Woods is staying with Leicester, especially since his equaliser for them v Everton. We could have got him earlier, but I think it's too late and he's out of reach now. Shame

I wondered when paddy kenny was going to be released because I saw him in wetherspoons in whitby on Saturday when I was out celebrating our win, let's just say he'd been on the drink and met him in the toilet (ironic)

Looks like this Atenucci is going to be pushed through. As much I am all for signing players but:

1. He is 30
2. We are apparently spending £1.2mill on him
3. rumoured to be a 3 year contract
4. He will be the 8th striker at the club

Doukara, Ajose and sharp look like our front 3. Where is this chap going to fit in? we have Hunt, Poleon, Morison, Smith and the youth players already at the club.

Smith will stay, does that mean the end of Morison and Hunt. Or will he be a "winger" type player as smith and Sharp are typical front men.

I just don't think its value for money and surely, there are other younger players out there we could sign.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Fa wrong with kevin phillps was there and how old was he when he was still banging in goals at his age!

Agree0 Disagree0

I can see where your coming from, however we clearly need a new striker, one that scores goals. We weren't looking like scoring against Boro

Ds

1. Good enough old enough. This guy is. Represents value for money. Suitable for this league.

2. Cellino is loaded don't worry. Fee is peanuts.

3. Length of contract protects against premature Bosman. He should still have skills at 33.

4. You really think Hunt and Morison will be much longer? Ajose is more winger than striker.

Bottom line. This player will make us better and our bench will look pretty tidy.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we have enough central strikers (there's always January if they don't deliver). This lad is too old and not prolific by any means.
For me we need at least one genuine touch line hugging winger who is proven at this level (shame we missed Chris Burke) and a Claude Makélélé.

Hock saying Sam will stay. Personally I think he will go to Dunderland before the transfer window shuts. If he wants to go and we get 8 mill, I'll say thank you Sam, and good luck. If he stays, and plays his heart out, I'll be delighted. This looks like a win-win for us either way!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

MC holding out for £10 mill ;)

Hi ed(s), can't u tell me what r the chances of us getting this Adryan lad? He is supposed to be very promising so I can't understand how we could afford him, and that other big clubs aren't in for him? STW

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed003's Note - no idea sorry, just covering for Ed 013.}

Football Italia, HITC, Inside Futbol all reporting that Adryan is set to travel to Leeds today with a tour of Elland Road, meet club officials and hopefully a medical.
He is apparently happy to move to Leeds and I for one am really excited. This kid is quality and will bring Braziian flair and vision that nobody else in the Championship will have.
He can score his fair amount of goals and is a demon from a free kick!
Happy days!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hope he is half the player of our last great brazillian roque jrn leeds legend. Looked this guy up and hope it pulls off would certainly bring something different to what we have and be a different option even if he is no where near as good as sir roque 'The Rock' jrn

Agree0 Disagree0

I do hope you are joking about Roque Junior?

Good old Rocky, what a quality central defender he was! Ha ha ha

Agree0 Disagree0

No way roque jrn made radabe, woodgate, charlton, hunter and ferdinhand all look like fools. greatest defender ever. I have partitioned to get the bremner statue replaced by one of sir rouqe. for some reason it only got two signtures mine and his mothers and even she didn't want to sign it

If Byram goes for 8m MC will have £19m (inc RM money). If it was true that this is surplus to his transfer fund he has the cash to buy back ER. What a cracking bit of business.

Just a bit of banter on a monday morning lads n lassies.

Does Warnock deserve to be removed from the transfer list after saturdays great performance?

I know its ONLY 1 good game but he's got a lot of knockers over his performances or his name who knows.
Whats your feelings as he did put on a match winning performance and his work rate alone was emense!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Warnock has taken a lot of stick from fans, but he had a great game on Saturday, I have always liked him, so let's keep him

Agree0 Disagree0

He played for england and had a good career so must have some talent/class and for me anyone who works that hard for the badge and team should not be on transfer list. I have always liked him and think he should stay he would be my first choice

Agree0 Disagree0

Looked to me like he was playing for the shirt. I'm sure that's what was asked of him and he delivered. It would be nice to think the entire team played with that same desire over the entire season as the improvement was there for all to see. I hope this is part of a new togetherness and team spirit and it brushes off on some others who have been guilty of tossing it off over recent times. If so, we could be onto a good thing. and in answer Andy, yes, I think Warnock should come off the transfer list.

MM

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to admit I had him as man of the match long before the end of the game.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ive always liked him
Dont know why he gets knocked

Antenucci is not good enough IMO. No better than we already have. If Bamford is availabl then he would add to the squad nicey. Also this Adryan looks a quality player.
So Adryan & Bamford in this week (& Noel Hunt out) and I think LUFC are soreted until January.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Bic
Even though I put the rumour out last week about Antenucci (from another site)
IMO I can't see MC paying £1.5 for a 30yr old striker it just does not fit his previous signings at Calgari/Leeds.

Maybe just maybe MC is sending out the rumours to force ANOTHER striker to accept personal terms?
