Use our rumours form to send us leeds transfer rumours.

18 Jan 2014 22:03:44
I'd be happy with this transfer window if we managed to get a good goalscoring striker, preferably Le Fondre but after his hat trick today I can't see Reading letting him go so maybe Billy Sharp or I would definitely have Becchio back, no matter how much some fans dislike him we all know he can score at this level. If Reading do get Sharp we should definitely go after Le Fondre even if we after dish out 1-2 million for him because that is what we are going to have to spend on players to fire us up to the Prem.

Also, we need a creative midfielder to go with Austin in the middle of the park because we need Rudy, when he brings his A game he can be near unstoppable in this league.

Serious question to Leeds fans

Why on earth are you questioning Brian mac. 7 games ago he was our saviour. We then lose a few on the bounce, same team and tactics as before, and suddenly he needs sacking. Surely the players are at fault if anyone.

Unreal comments from you all. What sort of support is that slating the manager

We need to get behind the team and manager and not on his/their back.

Brian Mac is certainly the right man to take us forward

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed013's Note - Well said}

All those who back McD please speak up now.
Get behind him and the team. There's one thing that will make this run get worse, getting on their backs.
In McD I trust.

Agree0 Disagree0

I like bmd and he got the formation and tactics right today, I just think he should of used the subs earlier today. It was obvious from the hour onwards some of the players were shattered, vinny.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2014 22:16:57
McDermott is man for the job. Wait until its his team and all the dead wood is off the wage bill.

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair fans have been saying go back to 442 for weeks now, soon as he does the performance comes, it's not coincidence. The defense looked quite solid today. I will support any manager of leeds but if I think he is wrong where better to voice my opinions, mot, vinny.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2014 22:42:15
I am right behind BMD. we need continuity and stability and the results will follow.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2014 22:47:49
Manager gets backed after our 5th game without a win. BM out, signings are terrible, tactics too .

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely the fans have a right to question 5 defeats (a few?) on the bounce, 13 goals conceded and a meagre 2 goals scored, no wins in 7, 1 win in 9, an embarrassing FA CUP exit, thrashed in a Yorkshire Derby, come on give the paying fans a bit of credit.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2014 23:48:27
Just look at his signings! Joe much good money has he wasted on fees and wages for some more squad players! He is a joke liked his tactics. We deserve better

Agree0 Disagree0

I say we have seen some of the worst performances of a Leeds side under BMD, the derby last week was even worse than under Warnock. We're slowly slipping down the league and can't score any goals, his signings have been poor to say the least and you wonder why people are questioning the management.

Agree0 Disagree0

OP here.

Andy were you complaining when the same guy had us 6th?

Questions should be directed at the players mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Your the one that's a joke call your self a fan do you what happened to backing the manager when the going gets tough fans like you are no where to be seen.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wondered how long it would be before someone questioned if those questioning McDermott are proper fans. Believe it or not people are allowed different opinions. I personally think That despite makin some obvious mistakes so far this season, McDermott should be supported & given time - however, that doesn't make me more of a fan than those who think maybe he should go - just means we have different opinions & I can understand their arguments sometimes to be honest.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'll be there v Ipswich, right behind the manager and team, I was just stating that fans wether it be justifiable or not have a right to question when it's going wrong it's natural.

Agree0 Disagree0

It took him until the 84th minute(!) to make a sub, when it was obvious to cyclops that Kebe was struggling after HT.

Agree0 Disagree0

There is nothing wrong with questioning what BM does and anyone not happy is perfectly entitled to say so. However, I don't think it is necessary to call for him to be sacked because he makes a few mistakes. Give him chance to put things right and then if he doesn't fair enough!

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2014 21:04:31
My trust with Brian Mcdermott is going. Why don't we get someone like Lucas Rabede and risk it. He would like to manage us and fans would like him and then bring in coaching staff of other leeds players

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yeah let's fetch em all back, FFS, what's this obsession with ex players, judge Mac at the end of the season, there's time to turn it round yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lucas Radebe is a Leeds legend without a doubt, but above post suggesting he becomes our manager is totally ridiculous! What management experience does he have? Leeds United and English football are very different animals to when Lucas was a player!

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2014 22:45:52
We can't judge BMD until at least the end of next season. When he has a clearout in the summer and gets his own squad together the improvements should start to show.

Agree0 Disagree0

What experience did middlesborough boss Karanka have?

Agree0 Disagree0

He was only the assistant manager of Real Madrid

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2014 20:20:38
With Wells gone and ALF very unlikely to be sold after today's performance anyone think Lewis Grabban could be worth a punt? Hasn't torn the league apart but has consistently chipped in with goals. Can't imagine him being highly priced either.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed013's Note - How about Danny Graham?}

18 Jan 2014 20:54:39
Grabban had a 1.1m buy out clause, that was until he rejected Brighton and signed a new contract!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ya Ed, Can't see Danny Graham getting much of a run with Hull after signing Long and Jelavic. Sagbo was ahead of him too. Graham would score a few in the Championship, but what would his wages be like? Can't see Alf coming after today either! Matt Fryatt would be another option. We need a center half and center mid too. what's happening with G.Dorrans at WBA? Is Liam Bridcutt injured for Brighton?

Why can't we get a few cheap players from La Liga or Bundesliga. Newcastle signed Ba for free! Surely we must have some scouts out there as British players are too expensive! We definitely need 2 or 3 before the window closes and build on that again in the summer.
EnnisWhite

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - Brian says he is trying to sign a player that is complicated, well Danny is on loan at Hull from Sunderland and would have to come to us on an emergency loan = complicate?}

18 Jan 2014 22:47:58
Germany I would have thought could be a good source. They have the right mentality and discipline.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Ed isn't there something about playing for or been on loan at 3 clubs in a season? JD

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - As Brian says, very complicated}

18 Jan 2014 20:16:11
we should of snapped wells up . proving he's got what it takes in this league .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

18 Jan 2014 20:08:20
Smart play in transfer market BMd. Wells and ALF score again.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

18 Jan 2014 20:00:33
Kenny definately cost us the point today: slow reaction, and out with his feet first instead of throwing his body to block the ball! Absolutely helpless! Starting to support you guys who think we need a new goalie!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Spot on. The ball was almost 50/50. A brave keeper would have had it with the striker having to jump over him to avoid contact.

Wicklow White

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree I thought kenny was hesistant when coming out, he came and then paused. Should of just pounced on it. Probs would of scored still but he may of got summit on it and who knows Lees could of cleared. I think he is a good gk but no presence in the box. Dunno who we could bring in. Good performance from the team today. MOT.

Agree0 Disagree0

The difference between him and George schmichel at the other end was massive. I think we could find better

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2014 22:20:40
I've said all along we need a new keeper if we want to move forward and I think today proved that. Kenny isn't going to get any better either, its too late in his career. I suggest trying to get steele from middlesborough.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have to disagree. Kenny has stopped a lot of games this season from being as embarrassing as the Wendy game. You say 50/50 and Kenny should have come. What about the defender in front of him (Think it was Peltier) who didn't challenge? Fair point if Kenny didn't call, but they were both to blame. A keeper isn't our priority! Kebe & Stewart were pointless today. Varney for me was MOM. I've slagged him off, but hats off to the lad. Brown did a job and even Austin wasn't as sh!t as normal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Remember Schmeichel, was a great Leeds keeper. no idea why we sold him!

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jan 2014 08:36:21
We sold Schmeichel because Bates wanted the 1m, he didn't want to leave.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jan 2014 11:16:24
Schmeichel is best keeper in division by far. Should never have got rid of him and we would have had a point yesterday

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jan 2014 13:13:31

this quote; says enough is enough for me and any mature Leeds fan . McDermot ; Leeds boss Brian McDermott said he was pleased his side had restored lost pride with a much-improved performance in a 1-0 loss to Leicester.

Please leave Brian - can you imagine Don Revie saying that

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well said. Brian must go he's a muppet.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - I think he should be given time as it is proven that 10 managers in 10 years doesn't work. If Leeds were in a relegation fight then fair enough. Give him the chance to get rid of the dead wood players and time to build his team}

Be fair, whilst Brian McDermott did say pride had been restored he did go on to say however it was still a defeat which knows isn't good enough and the players knew still lot of work to do. He and they weren't happy and sitting back just because improved when couldn't have been much worse!

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2014 19:24:00
Some people on here need to get a grip. Getting on Stewart's back after 2 games. Gradel was pants @ first and Ronald O was a laughing stock @ $(um when he first started.
Give the lad a chance.
You should be ashamed of yer selves.
Get a dictionary and look up the word SUPPORTERS
OPTIMIST should check out his word too and be one or do one.

Lastly
Better! well done Brian and the lads.
Jt_lufc

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Grades was pants at first? He had his debut off the bench a day after signing on loan and inspired us to snatch a draw with Norwich!

Agree0 Disagree0

He also nearly cost us promotion

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2014 18:28:31
i don't think kebe or steward had any impact today whatsoever but to tell ya the truth they both looked jaded and fitness not up to scrath so not going to hold anything against em or any player just because I think we out played leicster for most parts of the match but the longer the game went on the more nervy I got!
thought leicester produced f all beside the 1st half strike didn't deserve a point let alone all three but that just my opinion and i'm not being biased either MOT gradually lol

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I thought steward did okay had some good touches and dribbled a bit. Kebe didn't have a attacking threat at all but he did a good job defensively

Agree0 Disagree0

Stewart drifted in and out of the game but did show a few touches of potential, he just needs to want the ball more, Kebe had a few more opertunities to impress but seemed to want to pass backwards instead of linking up with the forwards and I must say he did look lethargic, Performance wise the team put in a good shift but I always thought a Leceister goal would be first to score instead of us scoring, as previous seasons have gone we should start to win a few games when it is to late to make a play off push, The squad is still top heavy on defence and midfield, striker options are limited, it won't be until next season before a balanced squad is in place.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kebe had clearly been briefed to defend with Sam, this is one reason for not much going forward.

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly between the two of them kept dyer in there pockets.

{Ed013 - Good evening all, please take a few moments to vote on your man of the match from today's game on the Blog/Poll page at the left-hand side of here. There is also a new poll on who impressed you the least. Thanks in advance, MOT}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sorry Ed, but are your stats lies & damn lies? The votes at present must be a computer error! Stewart is walking it. I reckon his mum must come on this mighty fine site, because he was shocking today.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - I agree, Varney for me for man of the match. You may be looking at the wrong poll, i,e the worst player of the match}

Ok bmd has pulled a performance out of the team still very much in transition and trending water until we have what we need. Today was proof we will not go down . Good performance . Poor result . We will not see a contending team till next season which was the goal from the start I believe there will be surprises in outgoings and incomings until then buckle up for the roller coaster ride for the rest of the season .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

18 Jan 2014 19:49:43
Teams who do have good performances but poor results usually do go down! But still don't think we will

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2014 16:43:13
Starting to wish BMD would go back to Reading seeing he talks about them so much. then we could have
Adkins!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

How about you go and support reading then if your so bothered about adkins would you of posted this had they not of won today no of course not

Agree0 Disagree0

No but when was the last time Leeds scored 7!

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh yes, 8-0 against Leicester in 1934!

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2014 16:15:56
After watching the game today I was fairly happy.
Good performance, unlucky result.
However after reading everything on here I`m now quite depressed again.
Thought Varney did well, but looks like he`s going
Kebe still not fit and doesn't seem to want to get stuck in.
Take over stalling AGAIN
Talk of signings who then score a hat trick else where. Why can't a team like us just go to reading and say here is 2 mil for Alf and sort out the transfer early. Now I don't know if he was a target but as usual with Leeds we don't have a f. and chance now.
Lerooy lita. Please god help us, i'd be happier keeping Varney up front.
lets just get every player whose jobs around the championship year after year. Mills, Lita, Emness, etc
Leeds i'm afraid are still in decline, and another season of false hope and promises is passing slowly and painfully by.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Proud of the performance today but until the so called take over goes through we can't do any permanent deals so we miss out on Wells 2 goals in 2 games the Hud and any other quality players. Cheers GFH another season gone.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2014 17:09:32
I'm not surprised you are depressed after reading this site, some of the comments are just unbelievable considering we are all supposed to support Leeds. There were some good comments from BMD on the takeover in press conference which I think shows it is almost done. Hopefully there will be a couple more signings but if not we are still good enough to improve on last seasons final position which will be progress.

Agree0 Disagree0

The thing that worries me Scoops is that we keep buying/loaning players that to be honest are no better than what we have.
In some ways its more depressing than not getting anyone.
At some point surely a club like ours has to show some real intent and ambition.
Or can we not attract the better players anymore? If that's the case then we really are in trouble.
Only a lucky streak will get us out of this div

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2014 19:26:10
The thing that will get us up is prolonged, sustained investment. Unfortunately as you said Trev we continually tread water with signings that are really no better than we already have. Ashley Barnes would have been another so maybe losing him was not so bad. This consortium are said to have the interests and the ambitions of the fans and the club at heart. I hope so as although I don't advocate reckless spending it is obvious we need 4 real quality signings between now and August to have any chance of developing the consistency required to achieve promotion. Either way I am glass half full and Leeds Forever.

Agree0 Disagree0

People keep slating Kebe and Stewart and saying they are no better than what we already have. They've played the best part of 2 games and before we signed them we had no wingers at all

Agree0 Disagree0

If you wanna see the owners show ambition then how about all you stay aways help us loyal fans fill elland road instead of moaning about this and that just get behind the club

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2014 20:11:14
Spot on trev!

Agree0 Disagree0

Firstly I`m a loyal fan and not really moaning, just giving my thoughts.
I havn`t slated new signings just saying they are not exactly a step forward. Kebe is a long way off match fit and I thought stewert did ok yesterday, but didn`t think he had great pace? Time will tell for them both and let's hope they come good.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2014 16:05:52
Better performance from the team. BMcD does concern me with his reluctance to have effective replacements on the bench, I understand the limited quality available however having 2 defenders on the bench is too negative for me. It was obvious to everyone that Kebe was blowing out of his a**e after 10 mins in the second half and Stewart was ineffective. In the interview after the game he talked about the width provided by his wingers, I can only remember 2 crosses from the wingers in the entire game. We still lack quality from midfield, Brown and Austin played well in breaking down play but do not provide a creative spark. Chances created today were mainly through opposition mistakes

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think we need one or the other playing, I think with either brown or Austin shoukd be murphy mowatt or diouf. Austin would naturally get more game time because of browns age but he is still good enough for us

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Jan 2014 16:04:16

Believable0 Unbelievable0

18 Jan 2014 15:39:33
Doesn't look like we will be getting Adam Le Fondre anytime soon just scored a hat trick for Reading can't see them letting him go now!

Macdermot out now please better performance but I've been to nearly every home game this season and we are totally lost off ideas can't play on floor and basically no midfield to speak off!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

IMO that was a quality performance just not clinical enough, can see he has still got the dressing room due to reaction. Shut up about sacking him. Driving me crackers

Agree0 Disagree0

He has 3 goals already.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, OP, let's change our manager every time we have a bad run of results. That's just how the all best teams run their club.

There really are some short term thinkers amongst Leeds fans. As someone who actually goes to the games, I've yet to hear anyone at ER calling for him to be sacked. Real football fans with a bit of knowledge know that it takes time to get things right. We really don't need 'supporters' like you.

Agree0 Disagree0

Been to nearly every home game yeah course you have bet you wasnt there today as you would of seen us match lester for all the game and we actually played some good stuff at times could of been 4 up at half time in brian we trust.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

18 Jan 2014 14:33:08
I'm not one of these guys who's like 'we need a new keeper' but today I felt the first time Kenny was very poor. Although he didn't make any saves he was poor at what he had to do. There corners were all in the six yard box and he didn't come for one and then I thought he was incredibly slow at coming out for there goal, anyone else agree?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yes thought he was slow. Yes his distribution was poor again. Yes he doesn't command area at all. However, he is the best we have at the moment and unless ownership issues sorted out quickly will be for rest of season!

Good effort today and unlucky in defeat, imo bmd should of made changes a lot earlier. Brown and austin were shattered and kebe just couldn't run from tiredness, still unlucky but it was there for the taking and bmd dropped the ball on this one. Vinny.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No he didn't you always seem to moan about mcdermott all the time we need to stay of his back and get behind him

No doubt in my mind and heart: we'll play a hell of a match today, and have a comfortable win! A long life with this wonderful club has learned me:
- if we play a bad team, and expected to win: we loooose!
- if we play a top team, but expect to win, we loooose!
- if we play a top team, and expect to lose - guess what?
WE WIN!
The mighty white is for us schizofrenic with big hearts!
Come on lads - we'll sing our throats off!

This takeover just feels like the Bates era all over again. A transfer blocked when the cash was ready? Team in free fall and nobody keeping the fans up to date. There is something badly wrong with this takeover which looks like it won't go through in time for this transfer window. We fans have seen that trick before. Owners like that we don't want. I will remain a Leeds fan as I have been for 45 years but I won't be spending my hard earned until I see some proper investment. I'm not going to be fooled anymore!

Fed up of all these "fans" who still think we're a champions league club. Get off McDermott's back! He said he picked the wrong formation at Sheff Wed and now he's trying to put it right. Its not his fault the takeover has stalled. There are players who know they will be leaving when the t/o happens, so its a very fragile dressing room. Just get behind the team and stop slating them!

Something is wrong with this takeover, the deal gfh confirmed the other day is not the consortium we are lead to believe, gfh said they had sold part of there share not majority so there's a difference.also if they had agreed to sell majority share would they refuse any transfers no because its not there money, david haigh does he remind you of s certain person called sainbury a few years back, he said he had a consortium in place to buy our great club what happened we ended up with Bates.haigh is panicking because he knows no takeover means administration, that's why gfh are trying to off load there shares anyway they can.believe me here is only one way this is going to end and that's badly.
