Only the management know what Byram is saying behind closed doors and if it is "I want to go" then let him leave, in Jan. Hopefully a few interested will bump up the price. He could go for very little very soon so let's not get over inflated with some of the figures bandied about. Altho he does have talent he clearly does not appear to want to give it to Leeds at the moment. Again only the management know if it is a temporary loss of form (anyone can go through these) or if he has had his head turned and is already kicking a ball in the Premiership.
At least it will give us the ability to offer a strong financial package to any quality target that we identify either in Jan or if we are sailing along nicely then wait until next summer.

I think even if he did pledge his future with a contract the kind of numbers being banded around is a no brainer.
He hasn't played consistently well enough for about a year and hopefully Botaka will push him to the bench. Even if he did play well that's a lot of money. We spent 5-6 mil over summer bolstering the squad. Can you imagine what can be achieved with an additional 8 mil. Remember this isn't papa smurf so this money may well end up being reinvested on the field!
We need to keep Taylor, Cook and Mowatt but for me Byrams future is elsewhere.

Just seen the highlights from the Tripswitch game as been away. Nothing from Leeds whatsoever. Keeper needs to be dropped pronto as these errors are becoming regular. And those who say he is a great shot stopper, well there are many great shot stoppers in the championship. McGregor, Carson, Heaton and David Marhsall are just as good or even better, but more importantly command their area better than Silvertri. The Tuesday night error was especially bad, as he was not even under pressure.
Biggest problem I believe is the lack of pace.
We have nobody, apart from Cook, who can get in behind and stretch defenses. Hope this new Congo geezer is the business, or we are in for another long season!
18 Sep 2015 14:13:57
Agree totally Corkwhite. We are very slow and have been shown up for having no pace. Murphy, Mowatt, Wood, Wooton, Cooper, Bamba, Bellusci, Doukara, all can play a bit(Wooton apart) but all of them slow (If Mowatt had any pace he'd be priceless but he's as slow as my granny)
18 Sep 2015 14:55:41
Cork. U must have been to a sensible bank
That's your best post yet mate.
18 Sep 2015 15:45:47
We're even slower when Sloth is in the team. Did you see what I did there?
haha, happy Friday peeps, down the pints Up the Whites!

I'm flattered you take such an interest in my particular posts Aus! Although I do hope you're not inferring that my countless other posts are a pile of crap?
Anyway, it's all about opinions and I am sure one day soon I will agree with a post of yours. Most likely after an all day sesh down the boozer. Talking about the boozer, i'm off.

Good to have a goal corky!
Let's hope for a bagful today!

Why sell Sam? He loves the club. Why not reinstate him at RB and offer him a better contract, a real confidence booster. If we do that he will still be around when Beradi (good has he has been) moves on. Just my humble opinion for what it is worth. I still believe our home grown youth is our future.
18 Sep 2015 14:57:20
I agree offer him more just to boost his value. But seriously! He's gone. Just a matter of fee
I rated him our best player or two last year. This year he is not!
18 Sep 2015 15:33:42
Well, I think the signs are all there that he wants to move on, BUT I do agree that I wonder if that would change if he was reinstated at right back. that's where he prefers to play, and that's his best position
18 Sep 2015 16:28:16
Agree grip
Right back. Pay rise. Make him feel spec
Get more money for him
No brainer
18 Sep 2015 09:14:18
I think it's time we got rid of Byram. the lad has no intention of signing a new contract!
18 Sep 2015 10:28:58
I think it is clear he is not going to stay and I wish him good luck, if I was him I would not take a drop either when I know I have interest from prem clubs.
Sell him in Jan and I would be happy if we got 4 m for him as he is out of contract, so the figs of 6-8 m are a good deal for Leeds, you could get 2-3 really good players at championship level for that no problem and our squad is light as we know.
SB has not been the same player this season, perhaps he is being asked to play to much like a forward/winger (which he isnt) in the 4-3-3 system, he did well in the 4-2-3-1 when he was asked to still cover in defense but also attack but that role was different to now it seems as he is a key attacker and I don't think that comes naturally to him.
attack minded full back, attack minded wide midfielder sure but not a forward. So the way he is playing 6-8m would be a good deal for everyone and I think he will go on to be a good prem player in the right position.
Re Sat game is a bit hard to call after all the heartache this week, not sure how team will be feeling.
It will piss me off if Uwe doesn't get them up for this game, it is a match that should suit us (away from home, big crowd, their playing style) so I'm going for a 1-0 to us, well as long as they don't put any high balls into the box we will be OK, you have got to hope Silvestri has been practicing his punching/catching of crosses (as he won't be dropped) but I can see another comedy performance in that area.
I think if he has another poor game on Sat then time for a change, how many chances do we give him.
18 Sep 2015 10:29:35
I've read the reports about Swansea hoping to sign him in January for a cut down price. I'm not 100% sure how it works, but if he stays till the end of the season how much would we expect from a tribunal and would it be a significant amount less if we sold him for what the papers report as a cut down price?
18 Sep 2015 10:44:56
Yeah. May have missed a few mill there!
