Use our rumours form to send us leeds transfer rumours.

19 Jan 2012 23:56:00
just looking on twitter to find out about protest - wish I hadnt full of rumours that Leicester have bid £4.5m for Snoddy {Ed013's Note - I have just had a look around and the rumour is circulating. Not good as this is how the Howson rumour started}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I would take it with no doubt in my mind as long as it was cash upfront and it was reinvested this window in full!

Agree1 Disagree0

I live in leicester and the rumour is gathering momentum down here!!

Agree1 Disagree0

If Snoddy goes then that will be the last straw! Even Bates and Co would not be mad enough to accept any bid for him - would they?

Agree0 Disagree0

I would sell him for 5million and mccormack for 2.5 but only if we buy 4 or 5 players to fill the gap! say sharp or boys ( or better still maynard) plus andrews, delph. also a right back and cb. only my opinion love leeds and hopefully will come right

Agree2 Disagree0

He will sign monday

How come half of our squad are targets for premier league clubs however we are nowhere near challenging for promotion at the moment?

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Grayson

Agree3 Disagree8

How can you disagree, is he not the manager?

Agree2 Disagree6

Is grayson not the manager, jeez some of you are morons! how did your protest go haha what a joke!

Agree0 Disagree2

Totaly agree mate, most the the players have been bought for little money and developed by SG.

SG is the best manager we have had in a long time, he needs our & KB full support and backing.

Agree2 Disagree1

19 Jan 2012 21:31:57
I personaly think Ken Bates will be out by the end of Febuary

Believable1 Unbelievable12

For that to happen someone needs to buy us any suggestions free spending local businessman far east billionaire Ohh they come around everyday so how will ken be out by end of February answeres on a postage stamp.....

Agree5 Disagree2

Hes not just going to walk away is he,theres no queue waiting is there,what a silly post.

Agree3 Disagree0

No chance mate, I wish you was right but if some one came around tomorow with cash..! these things take time.

NO billionaire thanks, reliable businessman to invest realisticly

Agree0 Disagree0

Out by end of Feb are you his doctor? or put a whole in his yacht

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jan 2012 21:31:02
Get rid of grayson, apart from the guy being tactically inept and terrible in the transfer market he has also completely lost the confidence of all the players. Couldn't imagine the current situation with warnock in charge.

Believable9 Unbelievable7

So true pal

Agree2 Disagree3

Plus he's having it off with players Girlfriends what a leader, cant blame AOB {Ed013's Note - How do you know its a players girlfriend?}

Agree1 Disagree4

The whole world knows, how did everyone know about giggs! {Ed013's Note - Forgive me if I'm wrong but from what his dad said in Bedale it was a club secretary that was unattached. He may cover up for his son I suppose}

Agree0 Disagree1

Its like lots of posts on here,what they dont know they make up,time a lot of em were in bed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wasn't it O'Brien's wife? And a secretary at the club who happened to be seeing Neil Kilkenny? Don't know this ain't Hello magazine. {Ed013's Note - We have gone from slagging Mr Bates to auditioning for the script writers job at Emmerdale!}

Agree0 Disagree0

This site is now full of gossiping old women. Stop talking nonsense. It's all hearsay and plainly made up rubbish. Yes SG's had an affair, do you still think he'd be at the club if this affair was with the partner of a player?

Grow up or go watch some soap opera sh**e on tv. {Ed013's Note - Finally some sense}

Agree4 Disagree1

You cant sack someone because they had an affair, even if they deserve it, there are employment laws. I think it needs debating it's clearly caused an issue within the club and among some of the fans. {Ed001's Note - I think you all need to stop reading Hello and man up a bit, instead of spreading malicious gossip like old women. It is irrelevant what happens in their private lives and not for discussion on a football site. If you want to talk about this kind of rubbish I am sure you can go to Living TV or OK magazine.}

Agree3 Disagree0

Very well said Ed013 and Ed001.

How did the BATES OUT protest go tonight?

Believable4 Unbelievable1

I`d say there we`re about 200 people there.

Agree4 Disagree1

200 morons is that all you could get, what a joke. In ken I trust

Agree4 Disagree4

Not even that by the looks of it, obviously a minority who don't have a clue. BATES IN!

Agree5 Disagree4

3rd response well said

Agree3 Disagree4

Wow ken bates has been on this site (posts 2 and 3)

Agree4 Disagree2

You embarrass our club.

Agree1 Disagree3

Another one being planned before tommorows game - 1.45 at statue

Agree2 Disagree0

Not enough to provide him with a threat

Agree0 Disagree2

Bates does not and never will LOVE LUFC he didn't before and does not now. He saw a way to make a few quid which is why he will never invest in the players because they are not tangable assets that will hold their valve.

Agree2 Disagree0

Great do it on match day mindless morons you all are go away, stay away from the club, I guarantee you that the majority of people that turn up will not have a ticket for the match! You will contribute to 5 losses in 7 games, call yourselves a fan at least give the club till the end of the transfer window before your over the top conjecture fuelled knee-jerk reaction ruins any prospect of us signing players.

Do you think you are helping, your not

Agree1 Disagree2

Everyone entitled to their opinions.
Fans protesting before game and not in side ground, how will that contribute to 5 losses in 7 games?
So do we just sit back and let it happen then or do we have a moan/protest 1hr before kick off and then go inside ER and giving the lads the backing and seeing us get the three points

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Jan 2012 21:23:24

A bit of a dodgy source but apparently Jermain Beckford could be making a return to Leeds most likely a loan but not certain.

Believable3 Unbelievable7

Very dodgy source, Beckford is on £38k a week, who's gonna pay that ?

Agree4 Disagree0

You need to get new sauce! after his hat-trick on tuesday beckford aint going nowhere

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jan 2012 20:43:07
certain souces are showing me that alan smith may be making a shocking return back to leeds united footballl club

Believable4 Unbelievable7

That would be bloody shocking. Aren't things bad enough ffs!

Agree4 Disagree2

Would these be HP and Daddies sauces?

Agree5 Disagree1

I think grayson has decided that some players are not pulling there weight and has probably gone the wrong way about things which has now unsettled the squad and there will only be very few players staying .

New sources suggest that leeds have taken an interest in loaning Aston Villas's Emile Heskey until the end of the season. {Ed013's Note - here is website - http://footy-bible.co.uk/leeds-to-make-shock-loan-move-for-emile-heskey}

Believable1 Unbelievable4

Omg can anyone ask allan clarke if he has still got his boots cause he would score more goals !

Somebody correct me if i am wrong but after the barnsley game sg declared'some of them players have played there last game for leeds'now we all know keogh has gone back,the only other player not to feature since then is connolly,this was followed by a statement from sg saying we will be bringing in players asap,Townsend followed the next day,we were then told expect one or 2 never 2 or 3 always 1 or signings before the palace game,thats been n gone,ipswich is virtually upon us now,yet again we were told expect 1 or 2 in before this game(still time yet i suppose but dont hold your breath)..these statements are usually followed by we had 1 0r 2 things in the pipeline that didn't quite happen for one reason or another,then we will be told how helpul and great the emergency loan window can be...why do we have to go through this every window..raised hopes followed by the obvious feeling of being let down..12 days left as i said before don't hold your breath

19 Jan 2012 20:24:39
Right, I may get hammered with abuse for writing this but..... I dislike bated as much as every other Leeds fan. However I can't help but feel he is securing our long term finances. Of course the greedy old pillock will be lining his own pockets along the way. What we are turning into is a very attractive investment opportunity. We have one of the biggest fan bases in the country (and best!) a large stadium with a fancy new complex, and a team capable of of a top half finish with a very low wage bill. I'm just as impatient as every other fan I wanna be in the premier league now. But soon enough we will be bought by an investor with more ambition and we will rise back to the top of the English game. We have too big of a fan base and following to stay away forever. ......(commence the abuse.....) MOT {Ed013's Note - Good post}

Believable11 Unbelievable2

Very good post mate, and I must say I agree (and have for a while) with what you are saying...BUT...

The Howson sale is a step too far for me, I don't think he's an outstanding player, but he's our captain, and a Leeds lad, and simply shouldn't be allowed to leave.

Also, Bates has brought in circa £15-£20m in player sales in the last 6-7 years, and we haven't seen anything like (even half) of this re-invested.

Honesty is what we deserve from Bates, just talk to us, tell us what is happening, who did we miss out on in the Summer ? Where did the money for the work on the East Stand come from ? How much is in the transfer pot ?

I agree that we need to be run as a profitable business, and this will mean players leaving from time to time, but at the very least we should be told what's happening.

Agree3 Disagree1

We shouldn't be told anything, given the reaction to a statement on the website some fans behaviour in the time since has been a total over reaction. The club does right not to say anything given the fact that people protest over a complete logical sale of a player. What's even worse is they couldn't even muster a decent turnout they had the whole media there and it was a complete shambles, jeez I'm glad you don't run my club if you can't get a protest right. Stop jumping on the band wagon, it’s not constructive and it’s not needed during the transfer window. Did it happen on the last day no, do Leeds have time to resolve the strength of the squad yes, people need to let the people within the club do there jobs and stop being the negative factor at Leeds always, I’m sick of it on match days, I’m sick of it on chat rooms, people who shout loudest are normally the minority and given last night I’d say that was true.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jan 2012 19:53:37
just remember who's back at ellend rd this saturday, a player who's big ego and arrogance once cost our great club a £9 million transfer fee from liverpool, when he showed Gerard Houllier a total lack of respect hence he quickly dropped all interest. this at a time when 9 mill could have kept the banks at bay a while longer...

Believable3 Unbelievable3

"Grow a pair." Wtf is that supposed to mean? He must have a big enough pair to be able to carry on, bearing in mind Bates keeps pulling the rug from under his feet, while loads of fans still lay the blame for this mess at his feet.

Agree6 Disagree0

Welo said Ed, I needed a laugh and i've had 2 tonight you joke and the turnout for the protest {Ed013's Note - There are plenty of laughs that come through here mate}

I know why AO'B wont play for Leeds. It isnt actually the club he wont play for its SG...the reason? The sercretary SG is having it off with is no other than AO'B's girlfriend...should I say ex girlfriend now! Just found out today off a golfing friend at Moortown Golf Club who plays with some of our directors. Also, this hasnt gone down well with a lot of other players... {Ed013's Note - If that's true then I don't blame him but at the same time I would happily rip up my contract and walk away. I think this one maybe another episode of Coronation street developing!}

Believable1 Unbelievable2

F**k off with the spelling criticism. grammar nazis are pathetic. {Ed013's Note - Chill mate, I think its people's way of banter. Its not a site where you come out with an A-Level so don't worry}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Should be a capital "G" after the full stop. (Sorry, couldn't resist!)

Agree0 Disagree0

If you really wanted to be a t**t about it Nazi's should have a capital 'N'

Agree0 Disagree0

And you should never start a sentence with a conjunction such as if, or, but and er....and...

Agree0 Disagree0

Also you should really finish sentences with a full stop.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha ha ha ha ha ha funny

Agree0 Disagree0

And to the 3rd reply Nazis shouldn't have an apostrophe as you put "Nazi's", it wasn't possessive was it ;)

Nice, what lovely language, we have a saying down our way, those who can, speak, those who cannot, swear, find your place pal, or so you can understand:
hetso owh nca, ekpsa, hsoet owh noncta, erswa,
it is not rocket science, for anyone who has problems with spelling, my six year old will proof read any comment before posting for a small fee {Ed013's Note - People, this is not a school, college or university site. It is a Football rumours/banter site and unfortunately some people struggle in life with spelling and grammar. Anyone is entitled to post and should not be afraid to with the off chance that someone will have a go at them. I like a laugh and a joke as much as the next person, but if it goes over the top then I wont post the comments. Marching on Together dyslexic or not}

ED, as a man of great insight, who will be joining before teh end of Jan? {Ed013's Note - Mate I wish I could tell you. I believe that SG is unhappy with the sale of Howson and may have something to do with his silence after the Palace game. The only info I have is 2 possible signings}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Which are who?

Bates out - Cash IN for Grayson :)

Agree14 Disagree7

Give grayson some money and im sure he will get us in playoffs if not top 2 . if he gets the 2 mil from sale of howson + sale of the fringe players we should have just over 3 mil and that could get us some decent young ,hungry talent .

Agree6 Disagree1

Grayson I banged on about him NOT being the man for the job when we were in league1. HE'S still not good enough and never will be. quick lets get NEIL W

ha read on skysports headline" Leeds starlet signs new deal" i click on the link hoping to god its white but instead goalkeeper alex cairns . Bates probably told them to write starlet

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Of course he did,hes responsible for that liner sinking,and all this cold weather,FFS,all this crap because he got good money for an average player who didnt want to be here,its ridiculous all this venom aimed at Bates,time to give it a rest and get behind the team.

Agree3 Disagree7

That would be Paul Dews, who would liaise with the media, do you honestly think that a man in Ken bates who lives the majority of the time in Monaco and leaves the day to day running to Shaun Harvey would waste his time talking to Sky Sports, of course not think before you write. For the Record Paul Dews is head of Media for Leeds.

I am a fan of 40 years have watched us weekly since the early 80's and travel 240 miles to a home game round trip and have been around Europe and attend 20+ games a year with my daughters 10 &6 who are brain washed hopefully that will qualify me to the doubters.

Ken Bates is a business man and a successfull one at that LUFC is a business and the only thing that matters is making a profit otherwise you go out of business - see Leeds post Ridsdale, Darlington etc. we are one of a handful of clubs in the 92 that are making a profit so we are a successfull and viable business it is hard to raise money for players especially with our record ask yourself would you lend us money - so the ground improvements will increase turnover and profits - check the club accounts for mr Bates sLery they are a a available on line.
Players are businessmen like it or lump it even those from our own city how many of you will stay with the same company if a rival offers you double pay not many I guess so Jonny moving on is his choice and if we could afford his wage demands We will be bankrupt again if we took on the wages as we would with all the excessive demands made. Ask yourself this with regards to transfers if you could afford a new car and you earned £20k a year and It was £21k to insure would you buy it - now substitute players mmmmm I thought so. The wage structure is a good thing we are ahead of the game. The directors are rebuilding the club starting with the foundations for ours and the clubs future not robbing us blind get behind the club and the management this is how you run a business not bankrupt it.

Believable6 Unbelievable3

We need a Russian Billionaire to by us then then because otherwise everytime we get or produce a decent player we are going to end up selling them to balance the books.

Agree3 Disagree2

Hiya Ken!

Agree4 Disagree1

You make a good point but this is mine.offer howson the wages he wants then right a minimum transfer fee into contract should we not get promoted keeps the player for this season and protects his value.not rocket science

Adam Clayton is the next player to leave the club for Bolton in January. Aiden White will also leave in summer for Arsenal and Robert Snodgrass will also be leaving too.

How can any decent top end championship player truly want to stay at a club who has just lost their captain and their longest serving player Mr Leeds United aka Johnny Howson. It must feel a horrible at the moment for the players in the squad slipping down the table, losing one of their best team mates and all the other speculation being thrown around in the air.

Would you not be unsettled by this.... ok most Leeds fans wouldn't because you love the club but I truly think it would be a different way round if you were a professional player.

What's so frustrating about Leeds United and Leeds Fans is that they believe there is still loyalty in football, especially when the player is a supporter of the club or even from Leeds, the fact is they only have a short footballing career and want a successful one where they can earn some money.

I have been a believer in Ken Bates for his full tenure until yesterdays news and will still be until the last day of my season ticket renewal in January but only if we sign at least 2 top class players (not loans and not some old has been) and some how manage to keep hold of Clayton and White.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Talk about speculation,and here you are telling us that Clayton, white,and Snodgrass are leaving,get a grip, people move on,and so will Leeds.

Agree4 Disagree0

Clayton will not leave this window thats for sure he's got 18months left on his contract so that just will not happen.

White will not be going to Arsenal either thats a fact.

Snodgrass may be sold in the summer but I wouldn't be sad about that really as I think he is easily replaced.

The only reason any of our players will be unsettled is if the fans turn on the club as a whole.

I agree there is no loyalty in football players will go where the money is best people need to realise that Leeds have been poor this season with and without Howson he's injured till March and it was the right thing to do.

What needs to happen is further investment be rest assured dead wood needs to go first before we can sign players as our squad is overloaded which explains the wage bill do we need the amount of dross that we currently have, we all know the answer.

I believe in Bates, would you all rather have Simon Morris it nearly happened what mess would leeds be in then?

Agree3 Disagree2

Im prety sure if someone offered 2 mil for clayton leeds would accept especially if clayton asked to move on so dont say no chance . i said no chance about schmeichel next day he was off.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jan 2012 15:57:43
With Howson going, and possibility of losing Clayton, White, McCormack, Becchio and so on over next 6-18 months maybe it is about time to bring in a manager with a backbone (such as Warnock who for the record I hate 110%) but will stand up to the chairman and has the ability to take a team to a level higher than SG can?

Would never slate SG for all his efforts but maybe its time to move on? Thoughts?

Believable1 Unbelievable5

And why would Bates want to employ someone who stands up to him? Someone who may embarrass him in the Press?
SG is very diplomatic for a very good reason!
He may make selection errors and has a few questionable buys(all managers do) but there is not much to work with!

Agree1 Disagree2

And why would Bates employ a manager who would stand up to him? No brain comment I am afraid.

Agree0 Disagree0

Definitely time to move on!

If and I know it's a big IF we could string 3 wins on the bounce starting sat it would lift all the gloom that's shadowing the club at the moment,The squad itself that is here at present need to stand up and be counted.Defeat on sat would just about tip everyone over the edge that's how high emotions are at the moment.There are more negative posts on here this week than there has been all season but it does show one way or another that we all care passionately about our club,so to all fans on sat leave the protests outside the ground and inside cheer the team on hopefully to a win.

To clear up the discussion on the "conditional element" of the offer to creditors on the sale of the club to LUFCL. For pomotion to the Premiership within 10 seasons, a payment to the creditors of £5 million. Not 5 years, not £30 million. What happened when Bates bought the Company last year I don't know.
See here for the original sale

www.scribd.com/doc/44754152/KPMG-Letter-to-Creditors-Admin-2007

Believable0 Unbelievable0

LUFC will not owe this money. Bates will sell (prob to him self ) the club on a asset base deal. when you buy a business you buy the shares or the assets.

The shares - you buy the club as a whole, which means you take all the liabilites the clubs holds, previuos trading history any tax issues and so on.

The Assets.
the buy all tangable assets the company owns and start a "new co" which is a brand new company with no previous liablity.

I have purchased a number of companies and both ways and the asset is so much easier than buying the shares.

So if we got promoted this would be KB get out clasue, who would he register the "new co" to is anyones geuss.

It's time to step dome pappa smurf, bring in some young fresh blood to take us forward.

Bates is going to have to be shrewd in the transfer window. If there are no new faces of a certain quality, then the season ticket sales will not be as good as he would hope. I wouldn't be surpised if he extends the prize freeze for a while

THE TRUE DAMAGE THE STAY AWAY FANS DO To LUFC

To the people that say stay away from the Ground on match days that will hurt Bates well it fact it hurts us the fans as it see's Leeds sell players like Howson rather than let him see his contract out. I'll explain Howson transfer fee before fees £2million, covers the deficit of from fans staying away from Elland road this season. On average 3566 fans stayed away compared to last season based on tickets costing a conservative £25 this has cost the club £89,150 per home game, base that on league games alone thats £1,961,300 over the season. So thats my point Howson sale covers this deficit the more fans stay away the more you will see players sold and ticket prices rising to cover the running of Leeds. It will hurt us the fans more in the long run as it will lead to the further decline of our club.

Believable5 Unbelievable4

I can see your point and fan's should stay loyal to their team through thick and thin. But I for one cannot justify the expense of going to a game at Elland Road, sumping up the £30 or so it costs for a ticket, all to watch a mediocre at best level of football and I beleive that Leeds fans have shown enough loyalty over recent years for it to be rewarded with investment in the playing squad. A fan can only take so much dissapointment before it just seems a waste of money, time and effort.

Agree6 Disagree0

I totaly agree mate, but why should we pay our hard eraned money when bates never tells the fans anything, we pay money for him to improve stadium he should be improving the squad.

MOT without Pappa Smurf

Agree4 Disagree0

1st response then don't complain and accept more players to be sold is what i'm saying football is a business Leeds needs money to run as a business. Btw investment is made in many ways, youth academy, scouting network, players wages, loan fees, players agents, security, tax, signing fees, transfer fees (9 players in current team we have paid transfers for), Coaching systems, player treatment and physiotherapy, day to day running costs, Insurance, Corporate investment, Community Investment. I have said many times people see a transfer fee of say £2million and they think Leeds get that straight up it doesn't work like that, there is the normal fees & tax to take into account, the initial payment is normally a nominal amount and the rest is in add on and clauses. Like I said football is a business.

Agree2 Disagree1

Problem is when those fans were going to the games (last season) we were still selling gradel for a pittance and letting Johnson and beck ford go for nothing. Even if they all came back do you really think bates would put that money into the squad......no is the answer.

Agree3 Disagree1

To the guy who ends his post MOT without Papa Smurf, I totally agree mate. Bates thinks there is a big mistique not saying anything or letting on who we're after in the transfer market. The only people he is fooling is us fans. If we are skint, then come out and say it! If we have some cash, then splash it. Don't just sit in a shroud of secrecy. It's not like the Ridsdale days when a club would add millions to the market price of a player cos Leeds were interested. I think the other clubs know we don't pay much for players

Agree0 Disagree0

Forgive me but I think it is the Job of Ken Bates and Shaun Harvey and the rest of the board and off the field senior management team i.e. Steve Lewis, Hayley Kelly, Ian Smith, to balance the books at Leeds to makes us financially viable which is what they are doing first and foremost and it is the Job of Grayson, Miller, Snodin, Beasley, Sharman, Pears, Perkins, Davis, Day Williams, Potter, Sulley, Redfearn, to develop the players and the team to get them performing, playing well, developing players skill and potential and ultimately improving the squad.

Bates is right to sell players if the books need balancing all managers understand that players will be sold if needed. Look Howson injured until March he has 6 months left on his contract he wants to leave, so get money for him rather than pay his wages out for very little contribution for the remainder of the season. I totally agree with the decision to sell Howson and accept the need for it to happen. We all know that football is not a cheap hobby and we all should know that Leeds is not a cheap club to run hence the need for higher ticket prices, I 100% agree that the team has not performed to the required standard but I look to management, & coaches rather than the board for explanations of why that is.

Agree3 Disagree1

Great post at last we have someone who speaks some sense.

Agree1 Disagree0

People talking about the standard of football also miss the point. We go to the games because we love our team. Like a good marriage, in sickness and in health, for better for worse, for richer for poorer.

I hate Bates. I hate his offensive political views. I don't believe his record in business is good - far from it if you dig into his past. I don't believe he has the interests of the club at heart and I believe he, not Grayson, is entirely responsible for the squad's deficiencies through taking money out and not investing in the team.

BUT..

I love my club and am not going just to watch football of a standard. I could just watch Barca on the telly if that's what I wanted. Much as I want to hurt Bates in his pocket, I cannot bring myself to stop going. And anyway, the renewal money went out of my bank account this morning... {Ed013's Note - Same mate, at the end of the day we were here before Bates and will be after so here's to sticking together and "Marching On Together}

Agree1 Disagree0

We all love leeds,but for the first time on sat im going to work and not the game because im doing a bates and thinking about my pocket,times are tough and cant justify ticket prices anymore ,when most of the team will not even be leeds players soon but loans from other clubs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Enough is enough.
Do you love Leeds United?

Wear your scarves, wear shirts from before 2005, bring banners.

We'll get the attention if enough of us do this.

Be there at 7pm tonight...
Police will be there, so more importantly than anything: KEEP THIS PEACEFUL.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

7 years of the truth don't you mean I won't be there, thanks but I trust Ken Bates to run the club. I don't trust people who wish to create trouble for it.

Can I ask what you will achieve; I'll tell you negative publicity that's all. If players are thinking of coming to Leeds and they see here about this do you think they would come I wouldn't join a company that was being protested against and was talked about in a negative manner, would you?

Tell me where this type of action has been a success, can you tell me one club that this has worked at in recent years.

I'll say it hasn't worked anywhere may I remind you of Blackburn, Newcastle, Scum, Newcastle, West Ham, Portsmouth to name a few what has it done nothing. Don’t mention Liverpool because that was the courts that sorted a new chairman and the protests had nothing to do with it.

Agree3 Disagree3

To the guy who thinks it's pointless protesting you're probably right, however putting players off coming to Leeds...Behave! Our Paltry wage offers do that.

Agree1 Disagree1

Ardly anyone wants to come to us anyway coz bates wnt pay the wages they want. a chomp n a drink in billys bar is about as much as he offers

Agree0 Disagree1

Disagree about the wage offers Leeds have the 6th largest wage budget in the league so the issue is that Grayson has a squad that is too big and doesn't allow him to offer bigger wages for better players.

Right enough Lads, yes we hate Bates , But please is anyone suggesting his sole aim in getting involved was to bleed us dry and f**k our clubover. Bates is first and foremost a businessman, he does not love our club like we do but he is a shrewd opperater who has over his tennure one way or another wiped out massive debts. We all like to think were a big club , we once were and can be again , but we are where we are at time and we need to accept this. Players. managers and Chairmen(hopefully) will come and go but the one constant is and will always be us the fans, at least in that department we have always been second to none, so stop this bulls**t and unite behind our manager and team, whaterver team takes to the field. Believable8 Unbelievable2

Well said,coulnt agree more.No matter what Bates does he cant do right for doing wrong.If Howson had run his contract down,which is what was going to happen,everyone would be saying we should have sold him.Its not long ago when people were saying he should be dropped, now there is uproar,make your minds up.

Agree6 Disagree1

For me it's the 90mins on the pitch that's the problem,our form at present is woefull.

Agree2 Disagree4

You're all missing the blooming point about Howson only having a few months left on his contract and you don't blame him for going. The point of the matter is that if our Chairman and his motley crew were doing their jobs properly then we wouldn't have players running their contracts down in the first place. Where had our clubs ambition gone? They are tearing our club down brick by brick. What are the other players going to think if our captain doesn't think we are meeting his ambitions? What does that say and who is to blame? Well it isn't us fans who pay through the nose week in week out. You can hear the conversation go something like this..."Don't worry Jonny we'll be back in the premiership this year definately, we've got Paynter, Keogh, Connolly, Kisnorbo, O'dear etc etc" Can't blame him for going, but the way our club is being run is a disgrace. All of them OUT OUT OUT

Agree2 Disagree4

'your missing the point' well your missing the point Howson has had 12 months of negotiations and he didn't want to commit and sign so bates and his 'motley crew' have done it's job and got leeds some money for a player that is so loyal would have walked for free. oh dear you cant even see it haha

Agree3 Disagree1

Original poster - There is too much negativity on here, leeds are my life whether they are premiership, or conference, i started supporting them in the Revie era, and loved them during the wilkinson league two era, and loved them during our adventure in league one, yes I would love to be back at the top of the premiership, but it takes time.

does anybody else find it a bit of a coincidence that Rogers gets his work permit the day we find out Howson is on his way and also that cairns signs a new deal I think the most important thing to take from the statement about Howson is that Leeds United are disappointed that this news has been made public at this stage does this not scream out that bates wanted to keep this quiet till the last day of the transfer window so that everyone renews their season tickets first bates is turning us into a club that lacks ambition he should have offered Howson what he deserves and assure him (a Leeds united fan) that you are going to be investing the money we made from delph and gradel into our playing squad so we are capable of doing what swansea and norwich did last season its not a coincidence that howson white and clayton are running down their contracts and gradel johnson kilkenny and beckford did the same before them

Believable1 Unbelievable3

The HMRC set the hearing date person the Howson news was leaked the day before, Leeds didn't have a crystal ball that new the outcome of the hearing which has given in the evening. You anti Bates brigade are morons!

Agree0 Disagree2

Not just Delph and Gradel either - 5m for the youngsters Chelsea nicked, 1.2m for Kasper, 0.5 mill for Kebbie - serious cash not reinvested.

Agree2 Disagree0

How do you know that the cash hasn't been reinvested? Investment in the team comes in all forms the Academy, Scouting network, Coaches, Players wages, loan fees, then transfer fees we have paid fees for 9 players in the current squad. SO yes money has been invested. Maybe not how you want it but it's up to Grayson to spend the money he has said the same he has said he has a transfer funds to spend, he has said that money from sales is made available to him. Btw when a transfer deal is made and you see £2mil or £1.2mil that doesn't mean that Leeds get the money up front, it often is a small initial payment with lots of add on split in many ways, jeez some people naive is not the word.

Like most fans I am fed up of the continuing decline of our club. We are being ripped off. I dont want to see us having a repeat performance of the ridsdale saga so I can understand Mr Bates reluctance to go mad. However, we deserve some investment in the team whats the point of having a fantastic stadium if the product on the pitch is crap. Surely the best way to proceed is to get an exciting team on the pitch before developing the stadium.

As things stand I cant see us getting anywhere near promotion for ages and it pains me to say that as I have supported Leeds since 1965.

We cannot attract the right calibre of player as we are not seen as a team likely to get promoted or paying the appropriate salaries. It really hurts for me to say that because like you all I love this club with a passion.

I know sg has made some howlers tactically and in the transfer market but I genuinely feel sorry for him he is being constantly undermined by the board selling our best and young stars yet he is being expected to deliver promotion with freebies and loans.

NOT AN EARTLY CHANCE unless things change drastically. The fact we are as high in the league as we are is testament to SG considering the cards that are dealt to him.

We need a change of attitude from Mr Bates or he can leave I dont like him or trust him. I live down south and I speak to Chelsea fans regularly they never trusted him either. Hope something gives soon so we can see light at the end of the tunnel. MOT

Decline?! 3 years ago we were in our third year of League one football. This year we're in the Championship, in 11th place with half a season to go.

Ok, the team doesn't seem to have performed in 2011, but come on. Until we finish in a worse place than the previous season, how can it be a decline?!

Everyone's so dramatic about it all. Take a look at some of the other clubs that have been through what we've been through, and then ask yourselves if we're really doing that badly. Expectation here is so high, and nobody has any patience whatsoever. It's not an easy climb from League one to the Premiership, and very few teams have done it in successive seasons, or even over a couple. Just give things time.

If the manager doesn't get results, he'll go and someone else will come in. If players want to go, we should get money for them rather than let them go on a free.

However bad you think things are because we were fighting for automatic promotion this time last season, and we're clinging on to the hope of a playoff spot this season, just remember... We went from a top 5 club in Europe to being -15 points at the bottom of League one. Its a lot further to the bottom at the moment than it is to the top. Keep the faith!

Next season will we be loaning players yet again? Surely we need some stability in the squad. What next? Lees and white go and then loan in two defenders? I just dont understand how the club is being run. The money had better be invested wisely, because if not i wont invest my time or money on tickets, petrol and merchandise of this once proud club. And as for howson, the dirty little rat. Captain of your boyhood club on over 10k a week and still not good enough?
