From a source within the club:
the 2 players Grayson is close to having deals sorted for are Jason Brown and Lee Bowyer. Grayson also wants Alan Smith but his wages will not exceed £15,000 a week. He is also waiting for news on the availability of Westwood as Schmeichel is not prepared to accept a new deal and therefore the club is open to offers exceeding £2million. Robert Snodgrass has been valued at £4million by the club, whilst talks are ongoing about a new contract for Gradel. Gradel wants to stay but his agent is holding out for a deal of £23K a week which Bates is hasitant to pay.

Ed, am I missing something or have those hundreds of rumours about Max Kruse died down so much that he's a man forgotten? Have you heard anything about him recently or is it just me? {Ed015's Note - I havent heard anything about him lately, asked a few of the other ed's and they also havent, sounds like he was just another name throw around.}

==============

Great player at St.Pauli, fast with a good bit of trickery up his sleeve. Have him on the back of my St Pauli shirt. I'm a Leeds supporter but worked in Hamburg for a bit and went to a few St Pauli matches. {Ed015's Note - would you recommend him as a leeds player? and our chances of signing him?}

The thing is St.Pauli just got relegated so if an offer came in they may accept. He would get to play a better standard of football in the Championship than in Bundesliga2. I could see him in a Leeds shirt, could provide good cover for Snoddy or Gradel on the wing or push Gradel in the middle behind Becchio and stick Kruse on the wing. Thats how I'd fit the team up front.

A 3 year deal is good now. I reckon if we don't get promoted this season coming we will the following year. Leeds will be a Premiership team with a lot of history, a lot of fans and back where we belong. Max won't want to leave then and can sign another contract then. {Ed015's Note - This has to be the season, if not then most off our squad will leave, many have already been subject to bids from PL clubs, we can only keep hold of them for so long}

Personally I think we can do it this year if we solid up the defence and Paddy can stay fit and hold the line. Id also make him vice captain with Howson perma-captain. Unless Smith comes back that is. I think Smith would be a great captain but I'd hate to take it off Howson so Smithy gets VC. If worst comes to worst and we don't get promoted I reckon we will see the likes of Norwich etc get relegated so Snoddy will know that staying at Leeds was the right decision. I reckon we could keep them. Hopefully at the end of the season we can celebrate and this conversation is ranked null and void.

If this hapens any confidence for SG ability to bring player to Leeds will be gone

WEST HAM boss Sam Allardyce will contact Newcastle again this week in a bid to land Alan Smith

He is now determined to add Smith, 30, to his line-up in an effort to put some bite into his relegated team

And he is well aware of the midfielder's ability to dominate games in the Championship, as he did in helping Newcastle to promotion two seasons ago.

Leeds need to pull there finger out
Its going to be a tougher league this season
So stop pussy footing around {Ed015's Note - it is only june}

Why would Allardyce contact Newcastle about Smith when they have already told Smith he can find a new club?

I'm not sure if Smithy is good enough anymore as I haven't seen him play for a long time.

Having said that, I'm sure Grayson will only sign him if he is good enough.

I would welcome him back, when he first left I hated that he'd gone to Man Utd until I spoke to a guy he coached him as a kid and keeps in contact with him. He said Man Utd offered Leeds the most money all upfront and that Smithy had given all his signing on fee to Leeds to help them survive.

He's Leeds through and through, not many people would give up that sort of money for their team!

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Agree. Can't see him going to West Ham despite the Allardyce connection, I honestly believe if Leeds are interested, Smithy will come back

Due to the lack of signings, I'm beginning to wonder if Grayson has seen something in the fringe players such as Clayton, White, Lees and Nunez. It will be interesting to see who lines up for us come August 6th.

MOT! In Grayson we trust!

The New kit will be visit malta as i said... someone told me to get real they already saw the kit but acording to the club shop the jersey wont be out for 3-4 weeks this is due to protracted conversations with leeds and visst maltas apprehension of sponsering a league 1 club(sheffield united)

Floyd The Barber

Believable0 Unbelievable2

If that is true then thats crap -why oh why can we not get proper sponsors and good shirt maker- we don't look as smart or professional as we used to.
I think when we go back to the premiership we should get 1 of our previous combinations such as Nike and Strongbow and Puma and Packard Bell would love to bring back the sky blue packard bell shirt and the one with pumas down the arm they looked great. If Not lets have them in the retro section of the shop atleast as memory of the last premier league era when we go up.
