I have an Idea, lets play well for 85 mins keep some Leeds fans happy, then lose in the dying seconds, then we can all say we'll be ok we have a game in hand.... were terrible, we should have won 4-0 against coventry next game
Peterborough 3 Leeds 0 1 red card and 1 own goal

Believable3 Unbelievable9

Who are you Wayne Rooney's Dad? Predicting Red cards and own goals. Do me a favour Pal we'll beat the Posh.

Believable3 Unbelievable5

So what is wrong with the two we have?

Conceded one goal (in the 83rd minute) yesterday, and two clean sheets before that?

Sitting in the north stand I didn't realise the absolute calamity that was Rachubka until I saw the replay! He had more time to catch that ball than ever. It was routine, but yet some how he managed to flap at fresh air chest the ball and fall over in a heap.........even Tom lees looked at him as if to say WTF. Needless to say that was the pinnacle of what was a shameful 35 minutes capped by three ridiculous substitutions in a game we hadn't wrapped up!! By all means bring becchio on or forssell to partner Ross or keogh, but don't insist on bringing two unfit strikers to play together who were consistently off side and looked like they had never met each other.

Taking Ross off highlights how much extra work he puts in from midfield.

Last night should have been 3 points.

Believable10 Unbelievable1

I totally agree, A school boy could have saved that. we won't win any of the next 6 you watch.

Agree3 Disagree3

I was at the game last night and cannot for the life of me understand what happened in that 2nd half! Am I the only supporter that saw Leeds throwing that game away by constantly giving away possession and inviting Coventry to attack us. Coventry are a relatively poor side with little confidence, an yet we give them some hope by playing the worst ive seen this season in that final 30 minutes! It was embarrassing, couldn't string two passes together, and Becchio and Forrsell were a total waste of time im sorry! Terrible tactics...our two outlets to relieve any pressure were removed (Mccormack and Snoddy). If you invite that much pressure and possession from another championship team they are going to score it was obvious to see, it was only a matter of time. I think i prefer Leeds chasing the game in the last 15 minutes, we play much better attacking other teams. Im sorry it sounds pessimistic, but even my friend a neutral thought Leeds were a poor team. We have had a good run, and I think we will do well this season, but why did we forget how to play football in the final 20 minutes of that game?!

Agree3 Disagree0

"we won't win any of the next 6 you watch."

Would you like to bet a few quid (or maybe a thousand) on that statement?

Put up or shut up... Leeds4alongtime

Agree2 Disagree0

The only mistakes we made on Tuesday was taking McCormack off. Keogh had worked hard, so Bechhio or Forsell would have been a good replacement NOT BOTH. Add taking Snoddy off also and we had no width. Howson is no winger, he is a centre midfielder. We should have kept our shape and we would have would by more than one. As for the rest of the perfromance we did ok. I can't believe some people on here who think we're doomed. Come on chaps, get a grip. We are looking top 6 at the mo.

Missed the game last night due to work commitments in Scotland however my spars say J.H was missing again WTF is going on with Johnny..? has his head been turned..? does S.G not see this..?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Howson, i didn't see him touch the ball for the first 9 mins, he's useless......

Agree4 Disagree0

I have been banging on about Howson being inadequate for weeks and been berated by Blind loyalty Leeds fans for my sins! For goodness sake SG drop him - make him work at his game in the reserves. Such blind loyalty is making the team olay almost every game a man short. It also sends the wrong message to others in the squad who have to fight for their chance. They must see Grayson's obscene loyalty and consider their futures and who would blame them?

that is how we drawn do not blame him

jbsl

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Exactly, we should have killed the game off before then anyway, there are 10 more players infront of the keeper, so cant blame just him

Agree1 Disagree1

Can anyone please tell me what this post is all about as i can't understand a word.

Agree5 Disagree0

Who is rachubkawas..! was he in star wars..?

One draw n were off again pathetic. Get behind the team and enjoy the ride. Plus try spell check on your school computer pal

CHORLEY WHITE... what are you on mate, another shameful effort. Results go our way and we throw the ball in our own net! This will be the two points that cost us. Another year in the championship while little old saints march back to the prem. It`s embarrasing.40 yrs a supporter and I`m p....d off big time.....

Agree3 Disagree7

Lonergan was rested, he isn't out for the rest of the season, grow up fo f''' sake!!

Agree0 Disagree1

Lonergan was rested! What a half wit! He has a fractured finger and is out for 6 weeks. Try to get your facts straight before you read the last pages of your Postman Pat bedtime story.

Agree3 Disagree0

I just don't know why it's still happening. It puts doubt in players minds if they hear fans booing them and we are their 12th man. Let's all just get behind the team and trust Grayson he is proven at proving people wrong. I see good times ahead whether it's this year or next.

I can't believe that person that said we would have won the game had it not been for a few bates out chants, how did that cost us I thought it was a mistake by our keeper, maybe he was listening our for the chanting thats what distracted him get real

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Can't believe the morons are still chanting, have they not actually noticed our change in form?

.. oh, just realised, they don't care about the team any ways....

we def have makings of good play off team but we still need to do better.be honest, palace, portsmouth and bristol city could have had a point at elland raod and last night cov did but didnt deserve it.peterborough will be a very tough game and we are only 5 points from near bottom.people moaning about becchio but he was our god at one time and its not easy to get into a game sometimes.if anything id personally like to see the finnish guy given a chance in midfield and still get a right back who can cross the ball.like to think nearer top than bottom but we are still delicately poised.a bit of tweaking and could be great

I was really disappointed to still hear the Bates Out chant brigade last night.

I mean all the guy has done is save us when no-one else would, clear away the millions of debt and balance the books to where we now have cash, re-develop the East stand which now looks superb and redevlop a tired and run down main entrance. Clear away the money grabbers and build a team of players who actually care about wearing the shirt and not the wages (JH next to go?) Build a team for next to nothing who are a game in hand away from being in the second automatic promotion place.

Put in place the exact model of an attractive, financially viable, well supported Premier League team that any potential investor will take an interest in.

Maybe he should have left us in the lower leagues with a dilapidated ground and debt up to our eyes.

GROW UP. This great club is going forwards not backwards.

Believable14 Unbelievable5

Agreed - well said - and view of any bright, mature Leeds fan with a memory id say

Agree5 Disagree5

A bad atmosphere breeds bad performances. we would have won easily if fans focused on supporting the players.

Agree5 Disagree2

Your post adds no value to what you are trying to say -

Agree3 Disagree3

We would have been a game away from second, but had to throw it away...AGAIN

Agree0 Disagree1

I I hear another chant of Bates Out Leeds are gonna lose a lifelong supporter, I am sick of it and don't need or want it!

Do you seriously want lifelong supporters to walk away from the club?

Bates has kept the club alive, no matter how he did it or what he has made from it..

Let's all go out shouting 'we want Ridsdale' as you have obviously forgotten just who it was who crapped on the club, it certainly wasnt Bates.....

Agree2 Disagree2

So when Bates goes and the club is sold to someone with money and ambition and we get back to the prem you will say that Bates made it all happen. If Bates didnt buy Leeds someone else would have!!!!

Agree1 Disagree0

"If Bates didnt buy Leeds someone else
would have!!"

Total Bull, another statement with no substance, and will never be proven. NOBODY else put the money up, nor are they willing to do so even now, with us knocking on the premiership door?

Believable5 Unbelievable9

Looks like the whingers are back then - we managed to keep a clean sheet for 92.5 minutes with our reserve keeper and you still ain't happy??

Grow up!!

Whats the point in keeping a clean sheet for 92 mins, then to throw it away in 1 min, we were terrible. we won't win ANY of our next 6 games /......

----------------------------------------
but the game lasted 93 minutes and its all the minutes that count not just the good 92.5.....rachubka made a schoolboy mistake and cost us the match, hes not good enough end of, id rather give the future in cairns a shot

Agree2 Disagree0

You sir, are a dimwit. one mistake does make him a bad keeper. when he makes a series of them, feel free to whine. til then, back our players (all of them).

Agree1 Disagree2

You've seen him play twice for leeds, give the fella a chance, he hasnt played much and everyone makes mistakes... Get a grip and get real

Agree1 Disagree2

Yeah then what happens when cairns makes a "schoolboy error"? You will be slaggin him off and sayin lets get another keeper

Agree1 Disagree0

Is this not the same goalkeeper who conceded 16 goals in 5 games at Blackpool - judge thy performance not just in a white shirt but over his previous performances for others..!

This is pathetic, the guy let a goal in after 93 minutes and you want to kick him out of the team??

Give the guy a chance FFsake!!!!

19 Oct 2011 09:45:49
OMG the way some of the leeds fans are going on bitching that we should of won the game you'd swear we are the only team in the championship that'll drop points soton wont run away wit the league either mark my words teams will start to figure them out after awhile and when we win our game in game were joint 2nd so come off it guys! i just cant wait to get the saints again this season shut them dopes up the way their talking they have the league won! long way to go! MOT irish leeds fan

Believable4 Unbelievable4

It's not the dropping of the point that people are upset about, it's the manner in which it happened. Coventry were nothing more than an ordinary team who had little or no chances throughout that game. We should have won that game comfortably by at least two goals, even with one goal we should have comfortably controlled the game.

All of those players should be able to play solidly for 90 minutes. Why Grayson seems to think that he has to take our two form strikers off after 70 minutes I don't know. Becchio

Agree5 Disagree0

I still cannot understand why Grayson took our two BEST forwards off last night (and every other game recently???)

MOT though!!

Agree4 Disagree1

Even though we dropped of in the last 20. i thought the ref became very one side in that time. he reminded me of a school teacher trying to make it a draw so all the kids were content. coventry had little to offer but kept going.

Last season we had Gradel to bang in the goals,Becchio doesnt look the same player or is his still injured ?
Forsell not up to scratch
Seriously missing Gradel and Johnson this season
We have only spent 200k on a keeper, there needs to be more quality signings
Le Fondre should have been bought, still in a very good league postion, plenty of time to add some quality
And i can see us in the play offs at the end of the season
Open your wallet Masterbates, and put a smile on all us 'MORONS' faces

Believable1 Unbelievable6

Gradel has been crap this season....rubbish performances for leeds at the start he cost us the mboro game and still hasnt scored for st etienne...glad we actually got 1.75 mil for him coz he sure as hell aint worth that now

becchio may be still injured but hes being given 20/30 minutes a game can u really expect him to get match fit and be on form on that? have u forgotten he scored against palace and got us 3 points

forsell is a great player and adds experience to the dressing room...he will score soon enough....hes in the same boat as becchio re game time

johnson was good i thought and england call up suggests that but clayton is much better now and will get better in the future (him and wilshere in centre for england soon)

we spent 200k on lonergan....flippin bargain i'd say....if we'd spent £5million on him would that made u happy? i think we should save money and still get good quality exactly wat we've done with A.L.

why do we need le fondre? yes hes good but we have r.mac....le fondre 2million or Rmac350k? whos the leagues top scorer? would have been a waste of 1.65 mil for an inferior ST

we dont need more quality in the 1st XI (except RB?) just good cover players needed

and KB keep the club financially stable....but dont call me a f****** moron

Agree1 Disagree1

Le-Fondre was nowhere near 2million in fact Ross Mac transfer was more - and i will bet with any supporter Le-Fondre will score more goals come the season ends - who wants a wager, and im not knocking Ross he's quality for Leeds

Agree1 Disagree0

I will take you on regarding the bet with McCormacks goals this year, on a goal per match basis....

Leeds4alongtime

Agree0 Disagree1

I dont have a clue how much le fondre cost but i do remember his old club saying they wanted something like 2million but i may be wrong....rmac was defo 350k many many sources saying that on the net

We had a much more solid and balanced look about the team (Howson apart) - created chances, closed down the opposition all over the park, could have been out of sight by half time. Last 20 minutes back four sat too deep creating to large a gap between our midfield and front 2, allowing a very poor Coventry to build pressure in our half - then all it needs was one mistake - Grayson must take blame for inept tactics in last 20 minutes and unwarranted but predictable substitutions.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

The problem was we took McCormack & Keogh off & put Bechio & Forsell on. Neither of them worked as hard as Keogh or McCormack for the time they were on & made similar runs or were caught offside. This made things easier for Coventry & allowed them to psuh on - in turn we sat back which just asked for trouble! As a rule I defend Grayson against the flak he's had but think this double change lost the game for us. Sure we'll put things right in the coming weeks but was very annoyed on my way home last night as Coventry were the worst team I have seen for sometime. They played 3 or 4 passes along the back then either gave it away, kicked it out of play or lumped it forward & til the changes we never looked like havin a problem - very frustrating!! dslufc

Agree4 Disagree0

Simon wants to rotate players to avoid burnout, but he needs to accept he made a mistake there. Becchio and Forsell is never a good partnership, as they are too similar.

Howson should be dropped - Valyren and Clayton in central midfield - Valyren has not had an opportunity yet.

We lost the game due to a very poor 2nd half performance, the midfield where chasing shadows for the last 30 mins of the game, the substitutions where also a bit poor , Grayson took of 2 of our better performers on the night and from that moment on we kept inviting Covenrty to attack us,.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Last i checked we drew lol

Felt like a defeat, i was there.

Agree2 Disagree0

So was i, when chubby dropped the ball it was like slow-motion, it was coming though, the pressure they put us under payed dividends

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Oct 2011 00:25:53
It's alright blaming howson, but who else do you put in. All three of those substitutes tonight looked poor. Forssell looked knackered after ten minutes. We have really poor depth in our squad. That will cost us this season. Why does Grayson insist on taking rep strikers off in one go? That was suicide as far as I dm concerned

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Bechio is overweight and technically out of his depth - bringing him on every week to please the fans is unacceptable - be brave Grayson and leave out Bechio and Howson. Valyren should replace Howson.

Agree5 Disagree1

To be fair to Grayson, you're talking about taking off 2 players who've worked their socks off for our top scorer last season and an international striker. It shouldn't be a bad decision. take off the tired legs and replace with quality. The issue is more that the 'quality' didn't perform.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bechio 'quality' ! .... do me a favour overweight, can't hold it up, no pace, no tricks, technically sub standard.

Agree1 Disagree1

Alot of ppl are complaining about the poor performances of Becchio/Forsell. They cant be expected to work miracles when they dont get a single decent pass from the (disapearing) midfield. I thought it was a good 1st half and the game shouldve been over at half time. The 2nd half was shocking. For me the blame lies with the midfield performance (or lack of) in the 2nd half.

Agree0 Disagree0

barring Saints' unlikely form to start the season, the league is looking as tight as expected, and Leeds are right in the thick of it. minimum 6th place is looking more than achievable.

Had we not conceded in the 93rd minute we would be 4th with a game in hand, unlucky lads, keep it up!!!!
