Been reading the forums a lot recently and Ken Bates and Grayson are getting trash talked a fair bit more than they deserve. Bates, saved us from near disaster and Grayson managed us whilst we beat the scum and got promoted in the same season. They will sign people however people need to just hold up and wait.
In my opinion I wouldn't want Woodgate or Smith back at Elland Road; they're both far too injury prone. Nothing to do with Smith being a so called "Judas" for going to Manchester United, he did this as we needed the money at the time upfront and Everton and Newcastle were willing to pay installments. In addition he gave his personal signing on bonus to Leeds. MOT

Their is no proof of that singing on bonus being left and apparently it was a 'Loyalty' bonus.
I agree about the injurys and that about Grayson, but Bates isnt the right man for LUFC

Signing, sorry about that

although we have started back with a depleted squad, i do personally feel we are in a better position than this time last year. some new signings will come in either to claim fitrst team places or at least fight for them, we have great youthful players who impressed whilst on loan who have come back and last season saw our players are a t least top quality championship players, bates has openly come out and said players who are going are not good enough and offers for players we want to keep will be rejected. i feel now after a season in this division we will be pushing for promotion in the upcoming season.

Believable6 Unbelievable5

Yep Bates said that after Bradley Johnson left you after refusing to sign a new contract, I think Grayson tried 3 times last season to extend his contract, and he played most of the season, so when players want to move on to pastures new your chairmen condems them, he's a class act. Anyone outside of Leeds can see what is happening at Leeds, your Chairmen/Owner is trying to run Leeds on the cheap and will leap at the chance to sell club if foreign money comes along, just like he did at Chelsea.
Frankly I think you will struggle next year and will finish no higher than mid table.

hey tryin to find sponsorship info i have googled it and looked on leeds website i have found nothing. could anybody help me out plz.

Also think Norwich city made mistake signing johnson he wont be missed he did nothing last season apart from wonder goal against arsenal i would love to see smith put that white shirt back on and bowyer not sure bout woodgate tho.

i hope the rumour bout dudek is true as i think he would be a gd signing he still has a couple of seasons left in him and i think if you get good defence around him he would be great we just gotta trust Mr bates and sg i think they do have best intrest of the club at hart but i think were playing it slow so we dont over pay for players and like bates said we lost 3 signings to premier league clubs so does that no show the ambition? the guys on here slatting them are not true leeds fans.

Its 1st July, surely we have to sign at least 1 free transfer today? Leicester seem to be far and away in front of us in regards to signings......

Believable1 Unbelievable5

Middlesbrough did last summer. Did they finish above us?

Agree8 Disagree0

Leicester need to sign players because that have a average team, we on the other hand need to bolster and tweak, meaning our signing will be carefully selected, not snatched at

Darren Pratley has signed for Bolton this morning on a 3 year deal Another of the list

Believable1 Unbelievable3

I am a Leeds fan from south wales and my mate is a seaon ticket holder at swansea and at the end of every game meets the players and buys the man of the match a bottle whiskey and stuff which i no from the hospitality day when we lost 3-2 to them in league 1 on boxing day a few years back, anyway he told me Darren Pratley was going to Bolton before the season had ended and that there was no chance of him going to Leeds and no other clubs had even gone on for him so you cant really say another target gone can you . {Ed015's Note -

Mike Grella was training with the lads. I thought he was moving back to USA. Any news if he's going or staying?

I don't understand why everyone is getting so worked up a bout the Smith situation. If he decides to come to Leeds it will mean he's been prepared to take a significant pay cut to play for us, if he decides to let his decision to be ruled by money then he wont be coming to us anyway so there is no need to worry either way that we will not end up with someone who is 'only it for the money'

Also while I know professional footballers get big wages we have to remember that their careers are shortlived and therefore when negotiating their contracts they are protecting their futures by getting the best deal they can.

Believable1 Unbelievable7

Good point :) and let's not forget coming back is a risk for smith given the animosity and the fact he will be seen as having it all to prove - plenty will be wanting him to get injured first game and retire. obviously I'm not one of those

Agree3 Disagree7

What about the 45k bill will be left with at the end of the season, theirs more to this move then just the adoration by his fanclub and the scum move by a section of the anti-brigade. If you weigh up the negatives and positives the negatives FAR outweigh anything else. Peopel need to give more thoguth to the situation.

Agree3 Disagree0

Sorry but even those that dont want him back ie Me, wouldnt wish an injury on him Thats so small minded its unvelievable, the guy will be a drain on our wages if he gets put out injured. What a stupid assumption to make

Agree3 Disagree0

New young blood please Uncle Kenneth

As an outsider (Norwich Fan) I think bringing Smith back would be a big mistake, he was never top class, and he is no longer premiership level, Newcastle don't rate him anymore and I am am not convinced he will be that great at Championship level. Since he sustained that massive leg injury he has never looked the same and does not play or tackle with the abrasive qualities he used to posess.

Agree1 Disagree0

I agree with Norwich Fan, I don't get why a section of the leeds fans can't see this. The negatives outweigh the positives.
