Noorudin was ment to become vice chairman but because leeds are skint he's loaned lufc limited 10 million and for that he gets to be come chairman and no doubt when loans been repaid he will make a nice bit of profit! I'm 100% behind bmd and the team but not gfh and noorudin

Oh for god sake shut up with the negativity to the owners

Agree0 Disagree0

By eck some people cannot stop being down and negative. I had the joy of seeing my lad jumping round his bed room with excitement yesterday. Maybe the half empty glassess should fill up on some of his joy and exuberence at yesterdays events.

I've got to say if we do sign noel hunt, it's a bad bit of business. Money for wages could go elsewhere and I'd rather not sign anyone than hunt. (It's not productive). I'm hoping Brian surprises us again with another unexpected signing instead of a new recruit for the pension plan we had going under warnock.
Cum'on Brian, please don't sign hunt.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think i'd trust BM judgement more than yours, take a back seat sunshine

Agree0 Disagree0

Do shut up. At last a thoughtful manager. And, perhaps, a board of directors who may support him.

Agree0 Disagree0

You obviously havn't seen much of Hunt at Reading. He is a great skillfull hard worker the Reading fans love him. He makes other players look good and thrive off his runs and hold up play. He is not an outstanding goal scorer, but will bring a lot to the table, or BMc would't want him. He knows what he is capable of a million times more than we do, so just wait and give him a chance.

Luke Murphy could have got more money at Blackburn. The reason he has signed for Leeds is he has been told BMD plans and he knows we are going up MOT {Ed003's Note - That's not true,Derek Shaw said today once they found out what Leeds were offering they had to stop talks as they could not justify the wages.}

Not posted for ages but today I can finally see light at the end of the tunnel although I suspect the million was raised through morrisons wages not coming out of coffers however for some reason it just made me feel good

There must be other money coming in as well.

So Luke Murphy and Matt Smith is a great start for Leeds; despite the loss of Steve Morison.

I feel we still need a central defender to add competition/cover for Lees and Peace. Matt Mills and Reece Wabara favourites.

The club urgently need wide men Tommy Rowe and Cameron Stewart are the names leading speculation.

With the departure of Morison and Somma; I get the impression Dominic Poleon will be looked to make the step up to the first team on a permanent basis to compete with El Hadji Diouf and Ross McCormack with one addition of another striker likely to be Noel Hunt or Kevin Doyle.

Departures are likely to include two/three of the following Michael Brown, David Norris, Rudolph Austin, Danny Pugh and Michael Tonge in order to balance the team.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

01 Jul 2013 21:08:47

don't expect a drastic change in playing style peeps. Murphy is 6'2, Smith 6'6. McD is going for power play.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We've already seen a drastic change. From the games when he took over. Pessimism already and not even a valid pessimistic point

Agree0 Disagree0

Even I, king of pessimists, can say that is a pathetic point. Smith is either a target man or centre back (we'll see how Brian untilises him) and Murphy, from what we have seen, is far from a long ball player. The lad has skill.

Mr Happy

Agree0 Disagree0

Not even pessimism. just everyone's now expecting this magic change to tiki-taki ball on the ground rubbish. not going to happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think there was a touch of irony in the original post. I do hope so or that was a very stupid post. benefit of the doubt to the OP though. MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Brian managed to do it with low quality journeymen with a few hints of quality so what's stopping him now with a quality side. Your quite obviously not a fan, perhaps a jealous Wednesday supporter or some other team who see us as their cup final

Agree0 Disagree0

Managed to do what? play continental ball on the ground football? what dreamland are you living in? McDermott is a good manager, who plays the "English way", albeit with way more tactical nous than Warnock. these lads are good signings. they are also physical players. why jump on attack mode with fellow supporters all the time? {Ed001's Note - Murphy is not a physical player, he isn't a kicker, he is a ball player, with a great shot. Crewe only play one way, and it is continental ball on the ground football and Murphy has been instrumental to that way of playing. Ignorance is oozing out of some people, talking about a lad they have clearly never seen play.}

Your not a true football fan unless you've supported the team through all the bad times. If the good times do come from now on, we will appreciate them more than any team in the country. i don't want to be negative because I do trust mcd but last season aston villa bought a load of young players and they didn't do very well because they had no experience

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Because that's the premier league, different kettle of fish altogether.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, and we have the experience.

Austin, McCormack, Green, Warnock and Lees (even though he is young) are all well seasoned.

Put Murphy, Byram, Poleon, Dawson and Smith into the equation and this is a good combination of youth and experience

Hi all, It's been a little while since I last came on here. Just want to say a really good day at last for Leeds United. A new chairman, Harvey demoted and replaced by Patel and serious rumors about Murphy agreeing a deal. There's been a lot of negativity surrounding Leeds United, more than enough from myself, but for the first time in a long time I think we have a chance of becoming a real force in the championship.

As a committed realist I hope you appreciate how difficult it is for me to make such bold statements. :P

Am I being petty or do I have a point?

Just been on the LUFC OS to see a BT advert on the homepage with an Arsenal player (Oxlade-Chamberlain) in, fully kitted, now don't get me wrong I know BT are paying for this advertisement but why on earth would you let another clubs player be on your web homepage?

Personally I think the marketing team have had a stinker here, if you are going to have a football player or team on your own website make it your b***** own not another.

MOT SussexLeeds

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It could be a sign from gfh that their ready to spend big on aoc. haha I may dream on.

Agree0 Disagree0

The club sells the page space. Upto the buyer what they put in it!

Obviously there are T+C's which the buyer needs to abide by, for example: no pornographic material; so perhaps, while I totally understand your sentiments, if we were to be petty and demand a Leeds player in those adverts, we would lose out on investments (no matter how small).

BT will be happy with it though because you noticed it. Would you have noticed had it been one of our lads?

3 things have either happened:

1) We have scraped just about enough money together for one 7 figure transfer
2) We have money and GFH and BMCD have tried to fool everyone that we are skint
3) We have an investor come in and BMCD has been given the green light.

Out of the 3 maybe the latter but who knows with our great club, all I will say is its nice to see some excited and positive posts.

IF Murphy comes we then need a 2 other midfielders (wingers/utility), a CB and maybe another striker.

Rowe, Warbara (pushing Byram into RM) and Upson would do, then why not Grant Holt!

Been likened to Frank Lampard, box to box and creates for others around him. Watched him in Playoff final and he strolled through the game and was head and shoulders the best player on show. The commentator never shut up praising him. Comfortable on the ball, brings others into the game and helps defense out. Looks like a winner, so happy he's a Leeds player now. What type of midfielder is Murphy? Creative, hardman or goal scorer?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He's a playmaker - long missing feature in Leeds line-up. Also been used as a winger in earlier years, but prefers playing in the middle. Creative player. May well be our coming captain and spine for the next ten years!

Agree0 Disagree0

A creative, goal scoring hard man!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Remember his first job? scout? I have all the faith in the world in his ability to spot talent

Agree0 Disagree0

This guy is a very good creative midfielder very capable if playing in the championship and the premier. is it not a sign of intent when we sign young promising players? As for matt smith a very big lad who caused premiership defenders real issues last year. The 2 players we signed this year are better than half the dross warnock signed last year. finally the future is looking bright. very happy with the 2 brought in so far and hope mcd signs more youngsters like this. Crewe have one of the best acadamies in the country look at the player signed from them for big money. Danny murphy started his career there and look wot he became. Always have faith in youth and always a good thing. Defo need a couple of older lads in aswell to push the youngsters through. would like hunt and thomas in for the wings now. My team looks kike this kenny
Byram upson lees warnock
Hunt austin murphy thomas
Mcormack smith

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Thomas has already gone to palace on a free mate? Might b wrong, just what I read

Agree0 Disagree0

Federici instead of Kenny i'd keep green instead of Thomas and probably diouf ahead of smith push byram up instead of hunt and play peltier at rb and then look at finding 2 decent cb because the 2 mentioned are not good enough

Agree0 Disagree0

What lees ain't good enough?

Agree0 Disagree0

Someone explain how tom lees is not a cb please. Noone gets picked for england if they ain't goid enough. Upson will nuture young lees and with warnock aswell a very experienced back 4. This is a good defence for championship and will be much stronger this season. Austin and murphy in midfield will create chances and austin can even tackle in there too. just a bit of pace down the flanks ie: Adamoah, ambrose or even ryan hall and we will be challenging. Mcormack and smith will cause defences problems this year without fail. Drop diouff abd white in there as impact wingers and it works. Ideally i'd like a couple of acadamy players to cone thru aswell. poleon for pace dawson crestivity and even the turner twins for back up defence. Trust in mcdrmermott and march on together

Well I guess that's your choice but for the ones who are desperate to go and can't afford it or live to far away I wish you were able to replace the ones who can afford it but choose not to support the club they say they support! Surely the word supporter means exactly that. McD comes to the club although he's in demand and despite being let down with the transfer budget he was expecting. sees something about our club that's worth fighting for that's worth the effort because of us the fans, so surely if he can see it we who are supposed to love the club owe it to the club owe it to the players and owe it to ourselves to give McD and the players a chance, so maybe we can say we were all there for every game the season we went up to the prem. I already can hear the replies of excuses which is absolutely fine because its your choice, but if you are going to call yourself a true Leeds supporter then support the team, turn up, show everyone who we are and be proud of it!
