I personally believe the takeover has been completed and the announcement is to be made in the coming days. Either that our the papers are talking crap. But sometimes reporters get the know before the public .

Warnock best play ashdown in the net against Chelsea. It's not fair that he plays the games upto it then doesn't play the big one. Hope he gets picked for the net. Hate it when teams do that!

Believable20 Unbelievable5

Warnock already stated Ashdown will keep his place in the team for the CHELSEA HEAD HUNTERS!! Said he's been keeping himself fit for these games.

Though gfh said they wanted the deal done in three weeks time. This was at the start of October

Believable14 Unbelievable2

I think we've all learned not to go on anybodys timescale from now on. If only Carling did timescales.

Agree3 Disagree3

It was second week in october, fact mate as it was the first week of my holiday, red it at the airport

Agree2 Disagree0

Either way no one even the people involve can seem to put a date to it. It's ridiculous how long it can go on for. There's absolutely no consolidation of anything at this club. Except the position of ken bates that will stay with us for far too long. How can gfh expect us fans to be patient anymore. After months and months I'm starting to doubt gfh! To tell us it's close then spread out and extra week or two or three. It's not fair and we don't deserve to be left hanging on the edge waiting on the fate of dear club. We the fans make this club what it is and I know some of you will say its not gfh fault which is isn't. It's just going on and on and were told a timescale and that fails then another timescale...
GFH and ken say that the deal is almost done. Takeovers of nottsforest and Cardiff didn't take this long. To think its this week next week the week after. We should be promised a date and that date should be the final date.

Not saying that its gfh stalling but the first thing you want as a owner i think is solidarity within the communication between the owner and the fans. So far communication has been limited (probley because of the confidentially clause) and so many of us have been built up to be let down.

It's not right and not fair to the many fans that make leeds united leeds united through thick and thin.

If this isn't finished by next week I will lose full confidence in the takeover actually happening. I know they confirmed its close and going to happen but if they were realy that close don't u think it would be done by now? Whatever your view u just have to admit that this thing has to come to a conclusion sooner rarer than later.

KEN and GFH it's time to end this terrible winding road of ups and downs once and for all . We are leeds and we make this club. US the fans. GET IT DONE!

Agree2 Disagree0

I agree...its gettin beyond a joke like

GHF/ LUFC joint statement-

The potential transfer of ownership of Leeds United Holdings moved significantly closer today. Both parties can now confirm that a pen which will be used to sign the necessary contractual paper work has now been purchased. The pen, described by Samir Patel of GHF as ' a modern, chrome, slimline design with an ink cartridge facility' was purchased by GFH's appointed lawyers based in London. It is believed the pen was bought in Sothebys and to be a 'top end' of the market product. Ken Bates, current chairman and majority shareholder of Leeds United said:

''This is great news and a huge step forward. Both parties can now confirm that a pen is in place with which the deal can be finalised and pen can, quite literally, be put to paper. People have grown frustrated at the timescale for this deal and we appreciate that it has taken a while. However, people have to understand the complexities of a purchase of this nature and size. You cant for example just pick up a biro and sign the forms. There is a certain way of doing things which will ensure that the deal is right for everyone. The purchase of this pen is one such step and brings the conclusion of this saga closer''

David Haigh of GFH said:

' GFH can now confirm that instructed solicitors have now purchased a pen. I havent seen the pen personally as yet, but I have seen pictures and its a great pen. We are now in a position to sign the relevant documents once other, similar requirments, such as paper, are in place to finally complete the deal'.

It is understood that a deal has still yet to be struck in relation to where to store the pen, and how to transport it to the chosen locatoin. These issues are expected to be ironed out during a further round of talks next week in Monaco. It is not known if the pen will be present. These issues are not thought to be problematic and it is now anticipated that completion can be expected within the next '3-4 weeks'. {Ed013's Note - #Pen4Ken}

Major font problems 2 overcome

Agree8 Disagree0

Like it. One thing concerns me though and could be quite significant. The statement says that the pen takes an ink cartridge yet no mention is made of the colour of ink to be used. Surely this will necessitate a further round of talks to agree on a colour and result in the signing being put back a little while longer. MOT! White4Life.

Agree5 Disagree1

What about the ink then, and has anybody thought of a sponsor for the pen?

Not like Ken to miss a trick like this - lol?

Agree5 Disagree1

Waste of Leeds funds again from Bates, it's not like he didn't receive hundreds of pens in the post lol

Good P**stake though. I demand to know the weight of paper. Hope it's not a small weak paper that a cup of coffee spill would ruin. Another 4 weeks to fix that would do my head in

Crmd

Agree1 Disagree3

They've now been intouch with top doctors for PROZAC! This is just to make sure Ken keeps his eyes on the pen, with no shakes involved. Knowone is quiet show what the after affects will be on poor Ken but like we give a F+CK!!

And surely we'd have to have some quality blotting paper on hand?

Wouldn't want anyone to 'smudge' those precious signatures.......

Prozac is an anti-depressant. May make more sense to refer to ARICEPT an anti dementia drug,..delays the onset.

It didn't take this long to sign the Magna carta.

did anyone actually see dioufs celebration when he scored against saints waving his arms as to say no contract this is really not good he has been outstanding give him more money u bloody tight wasters.

Believable6 Unbelievable6

It was to signal the end of the match now there were 2-0. EHD knows he wants to stay at leeds it's probably his agents wanting more money. Typical!

Agree6 Disagree0

Erm... I may be a bit thick, but I think after dominating the game for 85 mins and missing a host of chances in a cup game... Maybe he was signalling 'game over' ?

It just goes to show how things can be made out of nothing!! what a ridiculous assumption to make.

Agree3 Disagree0

Deffo game over. Arsenal did it at reading after being 7-5 up.

Agree2 Disagree0

It is just his agent stirring up things Warnock wants him to stay and he wants to stay he will sign a new contract. But if we go up then we may release hm he wouldnt be able to keep up with the game

Agree2 Disagree0

01 Nov 2012 11:46:32
we dont really know facts about diouf but when on ssn theres usually no smoke without fire.
but it would be just another nail in the coffin really.. {Ed013's Note - The main thing is that Neil wants Diouf and Diouf wants to stay. The problem is with his agent being greedy. Diouf was on 2 grand at Donny and now 5 grand at Leeds. Diouf wants a longer contract more than anything, but time will tell}

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Diouf is on 1 grand pw, Neil is always saying how he's the lowest paid player by a mile. he deserves more and a loyalty bonus to match the earnings he missed out on.

Agree0 Disagree3

One grand a week my arse, why post rubbish like this,by all accounts hes on 5 grand a week, not a lot for a player of his capacity,NW will sort it.

Reasons to be cheerful - it is nice to
see Mick McCarthy back, it is even
nicer to see Terry Connor back -
love TC and can't wait for Chelsea
at ours!

Reasons not to be cheerful - waiting
for the take over, and please please
can we keep EHD? Can't think of
a third reason so will reiterate the
second. He is a legend and appears
to love it at Leeds AND be
behaving. Let us hope the new
owners make keeping him a
priority.

With apologies to Ian Dury .....

Watch the takeover now not happen until Christmas. Bates is so tight he won't wanna miss out on the big bucks coming in from the Chelsea game.

Believable6 Unbelievable7

More utter rubbish from a Bates hater.

01 Nov 2012 10:24:27
On a website now that Diouf won't be extending his contract and will leave in January :-( we really need to keep hold of him, he's been fantastic for us so far this season. Apparently he's on a dire wage anyway, can we not afford a decent rise for him? Will the 'new people' not dig a little deeper to keep him? Maybe I'm missing something, but I think we should be doing more to keep him at LUFC. - JamesC

Believable6 Unbelievable7

Why believe everything you read, theres no tooth fairy either, just so you know,NW knows the value of EHD,so expect a bumper pay rise on takeover, plus some quality signings, believe the OS and not much more.

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Nov 2012 09:50:13
I hope the takeover is not held up now,cos we have chelsea in the cup

Don't believe the rumour on EHD just heard they haven't offered terms yet they just guessing plus why would he leave when he is a star man here and why would you go to get same money and be a back up? Its not possible in my eyes keep the faith MOT
Luke ls11

Believable2 Unbelievable4

Hes on a very low wage and probably wants around 8,000 wage rise which i think gives him 13,ooo pw leeds will be trying it on again . he will be off just like all the rest of the top players we have had . hes worth 13k easy as long as he keeps behaving

Agree6 Disagree2

Let's me honest we don't know anything. Everywhere is guessing I agree he worth 13k but didn't NW say he had an agreement? And didn't sky and all papers say t/o would be done months ago don't believe everything you read

Get ready for the I'M NOT GOING ANYMORE BRIGADE turning up for the Chelsea game,Average 22,000 at the moment but you can bet your life another 15,000 turn up for this game.

Believable5 Unbelievable6

To true...i might go to that game. hope it makes you happy :-)

Agree8 Disagree0

Nope, still not putting money in Bates pocket - sorry Mr Bates....

Agree5 Disagree3

Sorry but don't believe anybody who says they are not going to Leeds "because Bates is in charge". If you don't want to go, then fine but if you were a true Leeds supporter you would go regardless of who the chairman is. I personally don't like Bates but I support the club and wouldn't let my dislike of Bates stop me from going!

Agree5 Disagree3

And i bet who ever posted this only goes to the big games himself get a grip if fans dont wanna go that is up to them i for one wont be going till bates has left and thats my choice not anybody else is bates out!

Agree3 Disagree2

" if you were a true Leeds supporter you would go regardless of who the chairman is."

Normally I would agree, but NOT when that same chairman is taking money OUT of the club for his own pocket instead of investing it in OUR future - ESPECIALLY when it looks like he may be getting a 50 plus million pound payoff anyway?

I have supported Leeds through thick and thin, but not through fat back pockets........

Agree4 Disagree2

Bates is very tight but you must remember what he did for Leeds paying off all our debt and developing the club from nothing and he is just a buisnessman and was never passionate about football and was only ever in it for the money which is the same with most chairmans they will come in spend big and then never give the club money again

Agree2 Disagree4

"which is the same with most chairmans they will come in spend big and then never give the club money again"

... and when exactly has Bates EVER spent big then, or did I blink and miss something??

He may have turned the club round, but it's time to move on and look for another lost, er, I mean, worthy cause....

Agree1 Disagree0

Takeovers 99% done and all you losers can do is bang on about Bates, you obviously hate Bates more than you love Leeds, poor supporters in my view,

look i try to be a very optimistic leeds fan.but chelsea?.hazard ,mata, oscar v tong, norris and our centre backs..keeping it respectable will be the best thing.
anyway who really cares, its the prem we need and want and weve got to get back to winning ways tomorrow.a defeat and bottom half now would not be great.after all gfh are coming in to reap the rewards of going up and the biggest ever tv deal.i mean 52m then a 180 mill payment form prem.you can see why they want in..but what happens if we dont get up?...shrew leeds

Believable1 Unbelievable5

Wont see any of them players playing for chelsea against leeds so stop worrying.

Agree2 Disagree1

Shrew... Your normally a bit more positive mate..
It s the cup,
It s Chelski...
My mouth is watering...
I m sure the players are pumped to pit themselves against the best.
Who cares if we get tonked.
Personally I think we ll be well up for it and may, just may give them posh boys a good game.
They don t like it up em.

Why can't Leeds negotiate contracts . you know bates is going to try hold out until January sometime to sell up fully just to have 1 more laugh at us leeds fans as diouf moves clubs its that last kick in the nuts that everyone as been waiting for .

Believable3 Unbelievable2

You mean he will wait till the END of the transfer window, not buy anyone - and THEN sell up.....

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Nov 2012 06:54:43
Why would we get rid of Neil Warnock?

1. He has already been told he is the new owners plans
2. Have you seen how well he has done under the constraints he has had? Who brought in Roody Austin?

Long Live Neil Warnock!! M.O.T.

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Warnock is retiring soon and will probably retire end of this season if we get promoted to end on an high .
if this is the case we want a manager that knows the prem league with plenty of yrs left as manager best choice would be
Martin o'neil or david moyes

Agree1 Disagree1

We will get a new manager if we go up and he isn't doing well but we can't just throw him out if we go up bit out of order give him till christmas and if he isn't doing well then get a different manager

Agree0 Disagree0

What new owners utill they stump up the money think they just after a few free games paid for by us fans

does anybody agree joe cole would be a great addition to the squad? just what we need creative defence splitting midfielder, all we need then is a good striker!

Yeah and so would nani.. but there on 70-100 grand a week... we cant pay diouf 5 grand a week hardly... Pointless Post

01 Nov 2012 00:17:01
Just read that a new contract for diouf has fallen through as personal terms couldn't be agreed. FOR F**k SAKE. The first thing the new owners need to do is secure him. If we lose him wats the point of us in the prem. we'll sell every player after the first fu**ing season. Makes u wonder wat warnock thinks. If I was him I'd be livid.

Believable10 Unbelievable6

I have read the same thing. I posted a post asking if anyone had any other info on it, but my post wasn't published.

They'd better sign him up sharpish or we'll be stuffed for another year (or two).

Anyone have any info? {Ed001's Note - it is waiting for one of the Leeds eds in case they have any info on it that I haven't heard.}

I'm pretty sure we were in the prem and the champions league not too long ago. Well i suppose if ur in the champions league your not that much of a name. Real Madrid? Who are they?
