From 2pts clear at the top to put of the playoffs in what 6 games? As far as dramatic drops go that even beats mr monks last year!

I just like many on here is absolutely mystified as to how we have managed to go from brilliant to crap! Same players, same manager yet our last two home games we played like we just weren’t interested. Apart from Siaz and say Dallas no one has kept their form going! Baffled, has TC lost the dressing room? I mean he’s lost everything else so maybe, yet he stays so positive, I really like the guy but it really is just not happening, no matter how many of us say the same stuff you have to thinkingwhat the hell has happened. Whiteman was right, he saw something some of us didn’t. !

No matter what the result tonight between Villa and Preston, we will no longer be in the top six, which is shocking considering it wasn’t that long ago that we were untouchable at the top! It is worrying, and like Danum says, why can’t we emulate what we did against Bristol City!

At the moment we are not good enough, we thought we had greatly improved, then our recent run of results. We do have some good players . What is now required to be the finished article is the big question. Think some of the refs have allowed our players to be roughed up with very little protection. We need a couple of Vinny types and to be able to beat the opposition even with bad decisions going against us.

I have the solution. Whatever we did against Bristol City. Do that! 😉

It was extra in midfield, then last night we went back to 2 in the middle! why?

we are definitely still a work in progress and the holes in the team are proving to be fatal far too often. Looks like we did after all need to get a decent LB and another solid CB. we could also do with a tough defensive midfielder and depending on when Caleb is back another striker who can ripple the onion bag. Either that or start using Roofe as well as just Lasogga - we did well when he was up front. Lasogga is doing ok but he has no back up.

Lots of negative posts on here, but its not all doom and gloom. Were in a bad run and every team will have one, especially when you got a lot of new players. We sat off too much in second half last night but if the ref had done his job we would have won that game. Keep the heads up, this league is wide open, and we will be up their all season imo. MOT.

There is no denying Lagossa is the best finisher we have had for a number of years. Give him the ball in the box and he will usually score. I had no doubt that hewas going to put it past Carson last night. In a similar situation I would, for example, expect Wood to miss. He scores when he doesn't have time to think about it. Unfortunately Lasogga does little else. He got his head to the ball times last night than the rest of the games put together but lacks control and his colleagues have little faith it seems as there is none one running on past him as they don't expect anything to happen. Saiz is similar in that he does very little when he doesn't have the ball. It doesn't look as bad because he gets the ball fed to him much more than Lasogga. Having said that when we are down and being urged on by the crowd we start humping ball forward in the vain hope that something will happen. -It won't. Lasogga is not that sort of player. The team have to find a different way of playing that gives Lasagga chances in the box without the usual hold up play that we expect. Wingers have to be stronger and midfield have to be more creative. and we need Saiz on the ball more. If we can't do that Lasogga has no real future in the team. He is a finisher - that's it. Defence is another matter. Leadership is another matter. Difficult to know where to start. At the back is the usual way but we are nearly there in all departments but not there yet in any.

Agree Hess I'm afraid this is a league where if you loose to ball then players need to track back and chip in all the games I have seen so far when we don't have the ball then certain players are not doing there bit and I believe this is are underlining problem, we can attack but defending is left to others. Think Jan window we need to sign players proven in this league, and can someone tell what on earth is going on with Agling who has seemingly lost his mojo .

From listening to the game last night it sounded like we were convincingly on top first half but suffered from the cliche "one goal is never enough". When they pulled back level some heads went down and the nerves crept in. I understand the TC team talk centred around cutting out the silly mistakes of which I readily concur. This however is a fine line to tread as the football that entranced us all early season consisted of taking risks (and playing at pace) . My thoughts are to return to the swashbuckling football but temper it with an extra defensive midfielder. In order that should an attack go Pete Tong all is not lost.

Think TC has tried every variation possible. Atracking. Defensive. Negative. He has tried lots of diff player permatations but we still losing!

Could trot out all the old cliches a million times but you have to build from the back, you have to be able to defend and not concede then you can earn the right to play football. The remnants of Monks defensive coaching was still in the team for he first 7 or 8 games, we then added in the flare and looked really good. We need to go back to basics like in the early George Graham days. Get really hard to beat, with this solid foundation we have enough flare up front to create something, need a goalscorer, some of the new recruits to start showing some potential and some more metal in the players we recruit . As we know it is a very competitive league with no easy games . It is in the top six leagues in Europe, don't think TC realised MOT

Totally agree PA. Let's stop giving goals away. let's bolster the defence. Not necessarilly buying. Getting the players we have back to full potential and possibly one extra defensive minded body in midfield then dust ourselves down and go again. Many are saying the end of November will show where we are but this weekend could be the catalyst for a revival. MOT

My worry is that if we slip and end up with a mediocre season it will make it all the harder to keep hold of our star performers. Maybe the only thing that will keep them from being enticed away is promotion. This would mean starting all over again in the close season and not just adding to a strong squad.

The other teams have figured us out. Be physical and we fall apart. Score a goal and our heads go down and we fall apart. Skill is there but steel and 'never say die' attitude isn't. Gary Rowatt was right to tell his players 'get a goal' and they'll buckle'. They did and we did. Don't know how you instil that mentality into players at this stage.

Totally agree Hess, we got off out of the traps like a greyhound, took teams by surprise with our high energy and quick movement. But we have been found out and teams are allowing us to have lots of possession in our own half and then pressing up on us. This is a tough league where anyone can beat anyone, but in most years teams that have good quality championship players who can battle and grind out results usually make it out of this division. I think we have tried to buy players with flair and skill with the premiership in mind. Buying experienced players with championship experience and quality or at least the spine of the team is a must. As much as I like TC, Iam starting to question if he is the man to get us up. He had a good track record in a league that only had a couple of good teams, the championship has many.

Its going to come good. I think that the style of play is great but there is a price for trying to maintain that tempo. It’s still relatively early days for coach and squad, we need to stay positive and get behind them - as we do best! I was angry, upset and disappointed last night, thought we had 3 points from the moment we kicked off - needless to say I am gutted, as will all at ER be this morning. The championship rollercoaster continues and I think we can still get off and upgrade at the end of the season. Keep the faith and keep smiling😜. We have a team that is capable of beating anyone in this league, we should have won last night and we will win on Saturday.

That's the way Peacock. This is the time for TC and staff to earn their corn. We have shown that we have the players with the skill. He must reenergise them and cut out the silly mistakes. The going a goal down is purely a mental thing and maybe a sports phsycologist is needed to instill some winning from failure mentality. Let's get back to pace all around and pressing as a team.

I think this season we're all more disappointed because we've seen us playing fantastic football. If we had the same points but just playing averagely it probably wouldn't feel so bad. I remember watching the Burnley game thinking, wow we've got two good sides never mind one! That was only a few weeks ago. I have no idea what TC needs to do to sort it, but I'm starting to wonder whether he does?

Tonight was not good enough again, I’m sorry to say that TC is probably not going to sort this out, I hope in a way he does because I kind of like him and his honesty but I think it’s becoming a no win for him. We can’t see to get any momentum going, we can’t win again, we look out of sync, we are to soft and can’t finish teams off! But the ironic thing is we have already done this so they now they can play well and win well but for some reason we have no back bone and no winning mentality! If we beat Brentford that would be great but I can’t help but feel it won’t change anything! Sorry TC!
