been reading a lot of posts on FB and some fans views are beyond me, how some fans are blinded by hate for man utd or over hype a player or debate douks place in the team and not playing taylor is beyond me.

Anyway in honour of this (and also i am bored), i have decided to do an all time over hyped / over rated leeds 11. see who agrees and who i missed.

rules are simply over hyped they must be over rated by some leeds fans. some of these players might be good but not as good as some fans think.

My 11 are:
GK - Nigel Martyn - great keeper but not good for england and consistantly stated as our best IMO Lukic Robinson schmicle all better.

LB - Ian Hearte - great with free kick but bit slow and often caught out, was weak part in that defence, good yes but not great.

RB - Berardi - so over rated people think he should be picked ahead of the leasgues best left back and our current player of the season, no one loved him last year but this year he is a god.

CB - Duberry - played for two top Premier League clubs and Champions league we paid a, lot of money for this clown.

CB - Pontus - good player but not the god send many think, some act like if he don't play we will lose 10-0. he is also forgiven for some misgivings and crying incase he leaves. good but not bigger than leeds.

RW - Douk - some people think he should be in starting 11 and compared him to yeboha. i'm not sure he is a player

LW - Kwelle - very good but often went missing, and dived and did dirty after leeds, not sure i have forgiven yet.

CM - Hopkin - expensive and big things hoped for, never really delivered.

Killkennny, one of my most hated, useless in every way scored more against us than for us.

CF - Smith - below average striker in great team, never scored enough for us and record after us is beyond poor in two est teams in their league. there was a reason he played.

DMF - Beckford - league one striker not the messiah, record in champ and prem is so so poor which shows he is weaker than our championship strikers and who will manage this lot.

O'deary - wilko gave him great players (lucas, martyn and bower) and he had some great youth maybe the best youth in Europe. he also had money and pissed it up the wall and helped destroy this club and didn't even finish in the top four more than once.

I find it amusing when I see the long posts and before I see who's posted it I can generally have a pretty good guess. As soon as I saw berardi in there I thought that's berm.

Brilliant post Bermo! And a cracking overrated team ha ha ha.

shouldn't Berardi be at left back BW? Robbie Keane should be in there - only does well when the team do and goes missing when we really needed him Robbie Fowler - just awful but maybe not overhyped David Healy - scored against England but only rarely did the business for us

But bermo you're playing berardi out of position! i'm sure you meant to put him on the left really! 😉

Interesting comments my fellow white Nigel Martyn - A great keeper and better than Seaman in my opinion.

Ian Harte - Agree entirely was the weak link in a otherwise brilliant team, but boy did he score some great goals

Berardi - A decent hand at championship level but that is it, not as good as Ayling and not in the same league as Danny Mills or Gary Kelly Duberry, strange signing and not in the league of Ferdinand or Woodgate or Radebe.

Jansson - great character and a top player at championship level - not as good as the three above mentioned

Doukara - at the minute I would pick him but to be polite he's no Tony Yeboah.

Kewell - on his day one of the best in the world, I saw him line up against Totti. Totti was made to look like a Sunday league player

Hopkin - no David Batty but worlds ahead of Bridcutt O'Kane and Phillips

Kilkenny - forgettable Smith - played in a world class team, great work ethic but not as good as Keane or Fowler.

Beckford - spot on a good player for the lower leagues not on my all time list

O'Leary - was in the right place at the right time - we played some great football though during his reign - his record subsequent shows him as a flash in the pan.

On to Huckerby - a player who was never given a chance.

robbie keane is good shout not sure about flower he was our top scorer and did score 14 goals in 30 games which is nearly one in two which when compared to alan smith 38 goals in 172 goals which is less than one in 4.5 games (and flower was injured) , don't think they are in the same league. if anything robbie folower for me is aas underrated as smith is over rated. how many stikers have nearly a one in two goal ratio for us?

i did consider huck on left wing maybe but not sure if he is over rated by leeds fans but i think he is on my bench for sure.

Great looking back on the old greats and some not so but I am keen to start circulating some names as possible transfer targets in the summer.

My initial shopping list (cash/funds permitting) Luongo, Adam Milner, Lennon,
N'ije (loan), Loftus-Cheek (loan), Abraham, Lindsay Burn, Angus MacDonald, Assombalonga, Marley Watkins, Ryan Kent, Sebastien Haller, Martin Braithwaite, Ludwig Augustinsson, Steven Caulker, Ryan Woods and Jota.

A few players there to choose from.

The closer we get to Saturday, the more nervous I am getting. Who'd have thought when we were flying high in the Premier League that a game against Burton Albion would be so important! 😱 Also I'm sure Nigel will be only too happy to put one over us for his late dad!

I know what you mean, but honestly I'm not nervous. i think it's because I an now resigned to not reaching them, I've got over that on Tuesday. If we win and another result goes our way then I'll obviously change. Look if we win we've done what we need to, that's all we can do now.

huge pressure on the lads as well because really our fate is still in our own hands but we have to win.

Reality is that if we can't beat Burton and Wigan we don't deserve to go up. I will then settle for the better than average season we've had and around £90 refund from Mr. Cellino for finishing 7th. Worrying bit will be what happens next season. Much prefer finishing higher and doing better than we've done before in the play-offs. I've been to London (and Cardiff) too many times to see us fall at the last yet again. 1971 was the last time I can remember seeing us win a final.

I'm not trying to put forward any sort of conspiracy theory, honestly. But would it be in anyone's interest for us not to go up this season, but to treat this season as building the foundations of a team that could go up and stay up?

I hope not, because personally I don't think there's any more likelihood of us going up next season than this. Unless a serious change of transfer/ wage structure is in the pipeline. Which I doubt.

Weirdly yes it would benefit someone Speedy, if memory serves Radrizzani has an option to buy the remaining 50% of Leeds from Cellino for what he paid for the first 50% if we stay down. If we go up he will have to renegotiate at a much higher price. That said I don't think that's anything to do with the current situation, if we lost Wood, Jansson, Bartley etc. it wouldn't help a promotion push next year even if the division might be arguably a little easier.

what would be worse? to finish seventh or to lose in the playoff final?

The latter for me

To finish 7th as it means we probably didn't beat burton or Wigan. No1 remembers who finish 7th nor do many remember play off finalists but for next season I believe we could encourage more players to stay or join if we was to be play off finalist as opposed to 7th placed losers :)
