Use our rumours form to send us leeds transfer rumours.

I dont understand why people are linking us to lots of Scottish players in the transfer window. Yes, I know Snoddy is a good player, but it took him time to adapt and even this season he took ages to play well. As far as im concerned we need players that are proven at this stage of the season and players that will take us to the next level, not players from a Mickey Mouse league that may or may not step up. Either way, lets keep the faith and back the lads till the end.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Because there are young top players that perform week in week out and have style and skill which would improve the squad and there are also cheaper than premiership status players, I'd rather us sign some young cheaper talent than old has never beens on a free

Agree5 Disagree2

Because it worked so well for boro last season some people

Agree1 Disagree0

Young, cheaper, unexperienced and un-proven players may work in the long run, but we need strength now. Players that are experienced to push us towards the Premiere League. The players that the 2nd post talks about are the players that we need at the start of a season.

im not a simon lover or hater, i do feel he should have strengthened more in the summer to anticipate a tough season and injuries/suspensions, not given enough youth a chance unless forced. i dont feel he should be sacked immediately but i do feel this jan will not just be big for leeds but also for him, he really needs to do better than any other window as he has purchased alot of dire players in the past, if he spends wisely and strengthens he will win babk some faith from the faithful but if he has another horrendous window and we fall away again then i think his time will be up in the summer,

Believable7 Unbelievable1

He did try and sign three on the last transfer window

Agree2 Disagree0

I believe for Leeds to move forward Simon should go now. This would give ample time to offload the terrible squad players that he has acquired, and cancel a loan contract or 2. Then give a mixture of current squad, youth and new signings the time to develop under a manager and coaching team that are tactically capable to ensure this happens. Hopefully Grayson might be approached by Blackburn then we can get rid without having to pay a penny, let’s face it the chicken people are clueless just like Grayson match made in heaven.
Imo Simon has a terrible record with utilising his squad, terrible record in the transfer nd loan market, terrible record with dealing with the media, and a terrible record with tactics. This season we have gone backwards, under Grayson we are lucky that this league is so poor. You only have to look at Blackpool’s progress when Grayson left.
I also blame Grayson for the split in the supporters with his comments in the media, the pitch performance and results but worst of all he keeps saying that he has transfer funds and freely admits that he money is available and that the profit from the deals in the summer was available. However as he doesn’t spend the money people keep on blaming Bates for no funds. If you believe Grayson then you have to accept he has money to buy players he has a squad of 28 players that takes up a huge amount of wages, he has players like Bruce, Bromby, Rachubka, Parker, Kisnorbo, Brown, that could all go and would not see any change to our performance on the pitch Leeds could then strengthen I wouldn’t mind seeing the back of Connelly (not that he is bad, he is steady but you will never win anything with him)
Under Grayson we will achieve nothing we will slowly decline and get dragged into relegation battles in years to come, the crowds are already falling you can’t argue with that if the football was good and we was competing then they would be up, Grayson is a long ball man since the days of Beckford till now that’s all he knows.
I love Leeds but under Grayson it’s depressing going to every home game knowing what’s happening. {Ed003's Note - 'you only have to look at Blackpools progress when Grayson left.' Grayson bought the spine of the Blackpool team that progressed and had lined up the Charlie Adam deal before Parkes took over, I agree with Ed 001 with his opinion earlier on........Jeez }

Agree2 Disagree2

He might have well of bought some of the team but was they going anywhere under him....no there fans laugh that we have him as our manager there fans laughed when we took him is that really a sign of a good manager {Ed003's Note - He took them from relegation candidates from league 1 into the championship and kept them there with the lowest budget apart from Scunthorpe,his managerial record is fantastic for a relatively young manager }

Agree3 Disagree2

Im original poster and to 1st replyer he tried getting them on deadline day after season began

Agree1 Disagree0

Ed003 - absolutely spot on.

Agree2 Disagree2

His record has been for from fantastic, if he was so good why does no body else want him!

Agree2 Disagree0

Actually he was approached by at least one Premiership club a couple of years ago and knocked them back. Which proves how much you know.

does anybody know that if we get promoted we will have to pay any money to our creditors and the tax man after being in administation,i keep hearing rumours that this is why bates wont invest in players but spends it on the ground.

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Don't worry on present form we won't get promoted.

Agree7 Disagree1

The truth is yes we would have to pay it back has Bates offered to extend the payback period, however the above poster is right.

It really annoys me that Bates gets blamed for lack of investment, can I point out we have a squad of 28 players, all of Grayson, Bates, & Shaun Harvey have said for a long time now that money is available. Grayson then said publically that the funds was available for the summer sales, if he then chooses not to spend them that’s his choice, my only logical conclusion to why Grayson doesn't spend the money that is available is because he doesn't want the added pressure and responsibilities that it brings (he doesn't back himself)

Agree4 Disagree1

Exstend the payback period to when

Agree0 Disagree0

Payback period ends September 2013

Does anybody have that feeling that where not going to sign anyone in january apart from pugh/keogh

Believable8 Unbelievable4

I think he will and it will be Simons final test, especially after Bates said our position isn't good enough. So I think he'll spend but if we don't get promoted Simon will get the sack. I love Simon but I think that Bates is losing patience with him.

Agree6 Disagree1

I agree with the 1st response - I like Grayson, think he's done well but I get the impression Bates isn't going to settle for much less than promotion whether automatically or through the playoffs (more likely as West Ham and Southampton are looking strong and both have cash to spend along with very strong squads).

I think Grayson has until the end of the season and his fate will be decided by what league we're playing in next season. If he goes though, I'm at a loss as to who we would replace him with. Really hope we can get a couple of good players in and buck the trend of the last few seasons where post January we're hit and miss and struggle to perform. Big test for Grayson and I hope he does it

Michel salgado from blackburn, some good experience at back could be good? what you think wont be playing much if anymore for blackburn

Believable0 Unbelievable8

We lack pace so your idea is salgado

Agree2 Disagree0

He will break the bank in wages

Agree0 Disagree0

Think that O'brien, & Brown are doing that already

In my opinion, the left wingers Grayson should be looking at are Paddy McCourt (Celtic), David Templeton (Hearts) and maybe, although it would be a long shot, Jobi McAnuff (Reading). McCourt could be tempted as he's not playing games, Hearts aren't paying their players wages and a move to Leeds could tempt Templeton and well, as I said McAnuff would be a long shot but still, good to show interest! MOT!

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Mcanuff would be brill but hey wont be able to get him

Same pattern as last season, poor run in December will cost us any chance of promotion and this year it will cost us more dearly, can't see White, snodgrass and howson spending another season in the championship with the suitors they have. We need to spend in January, nobody's asking for the 8 million on Seth Johnson days but in honestly believe now is the time to bring in quality or risk collapse. I'm not going to reinforce hearsay so these are just a few I'd like(within reality)

Flannagan and Wilson on loan
Kris Boyd free
Josh mceachran loan
Andrew driver free

A concerned Leeds fan:(

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Seth johnson would be a great signing!

Agree1 Disagree1

No thanks to kris boyd, Josh would be brill

Agree3 Disagree0

Boyds wages would be too much and you saw him last season he was absolutely kieron dyer!

Agree3 Disagree1

Kieron dyer? oh dear...

Agree1 Disagree1

Poor run in December like last year? Don't know if I understand you wrong but I'm sure we sat 2nd this time last year.

First major rumour of January ins, Robbie Rogers, for a massive fee of nothing, available on free, hope we do sign him up. Need a winger so could be a very good addition, and we would still have "money" to spend on much needed defenders and holding midfielder

Targets

Eric lichaj can play right back or left back and has even been utilised in the centre of defence on occasions.currently at aston villa he enjoyed a succesful loan spell at Leeds at the end of last season.Leeds would initially be looking for a loan unless they can agree on a fee that is affordable. Lichaj was graysons number one target in the summer, but due to injury the transfer was not feesible.

Alan smith is another top target for grayson.having tried to negotiate a deal on a few occasions, this summer the extremely controversial transfer nearly happened. Smith was told he was free to leave. Leeds spoke to smiths agent and asked if he would be interested in talking to Leeds. Smith said yes. Leeds provisionally agreed on a wage that smith and his agent Alex black was happy with. Then Newcastle changed there mind and said they weren't willing to pay smiths contract off.they then asked for 1.5m. Leeds said no. Deal off. Will this transfer be revisited in January ? Will have to wait and see.

Danny pugh has impressed in his second spell at elland road and grayson wants him permanently.he can play left back, and anywhere across the midfield. Pugh will cost Leeds Around 500k to £1m.

Andy keogh has been dazzling since he arrived at Leeds in loan from wolves. Keogh came through Leeds academy and is rumoured to have a tattoo of Leeds united on his arm.his work ethic and pace have impressed Leeds fans and the coaching staff alike. Keogh will cost the best part of £1m. But with mick mcarthy been a Leeds fan there's a good bet we could strike a deal quickly.

These 4 are the top targets. Others linked with moves are Matt kilgallon, clint hill,Sam clingan,Danny wilson,John flanagan, jack Robinson, brett holman.
Not sure about these though. Not heard anything myself. Agents are sworn to secrecy.however they also like to put stuff out there to get interest in there clientele.

Believable1 Unbelievable7

Who are you? The above players agent!

MOT

Agree3 Disagree0

What a load of utter footballs! "Keogh has been dazzling" - no he hasn't. "Rumoured to have a tattoo of Leeds United on his arm" - wow, what an insider piece of info!
Smith - ywawn, yawn, yawn.

This looks like a cut'n'paste lazy git special to me. Go away fool!!

Agree4 Disagree1

Pugh fee is £500k and Keogh would cost less than that as he is out of contract this summer.

Simon have to strenghten the defence and the
midfield in the squad. From the Reading game, with
out Howson the midfield was light. The defence
was no difference. No one covered Lonerganwhen
he came off his line.A holding midfielder is the
answer to the problem.Leeds need more bite and
aggression in the midfield.Someone like Bowyer
or in the same class like David Batty.A centre
back is a must.Kisnorbo has lost it after his
injury.Too slow.A quality centre back with pace
and leadership qualities.Time is runnig out for
Leeds and Simon. If Simon does not stenghten
this 2 departments in his squad when the window
opens, chances of even in the playoffs are nil.
Leeds are still not consistent.Anyway hopefully
the players that Simon brings in during the Jan
window will be quality players that will help Leeds
to get promoted in to the Premier League.MOT.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Every Leeds fan knows this, just gonna have to sit tight till January and see if we can sign these players

Agree0 Disagree0

SG has said looking for just one or maybe 2 additions to freshen things up, dont expect major changes.

Agree0 Disagree0

That’s the problem with Grayson he is absolutely clueless freshen things up. The squad needs a massive clear out not a spring clean.
