Great game did any body notice how much lampard was up for it It's like he had really mist playing against us and he must have told his teamates how Important it was to win that makes you proud one of there players cost more than our squad well donelads but we do need a bit more quallity byrem great and ashdown made some great saves learn from the mistakes and he will be good look at the possitives people we have whsy {Ed003's Note -He was wound up because of Brown's antics nothing else}

Believable3 Unbelievable6

I did notice Lampard trying to kick the sh*t out of Byram and Diouf on a couple of occassions if that's what you mean by 'up for it'....?

Lets face it Chelsea are way above us in terms of quality, money spent etc. I mean the 2nd half looked like a training match for them, with us like headless chickens and no match for them. I just hope that our new owners saw that in order to compete in the premiership then we need investment, big investment with a touch of finesse from the scouts. So hopefully we will be able to pick up some true gems along the way.

brilliant atmosphere last night the only way to keep it is by getting promotion people are staying away because there wont pay good money to watch teams like barnsley ,posh,we want to play chelsea ,liverpool, city ,scum, spurs ,and the rest we want to see good players so if ghf have got anything about them there will pump as much money it takes to get us promotion to get elland road rocking again[kez1919]

Believable12 Unbelievable1

Yeah I agree but to get to the promised land to see those teams we need the support at ER NOW!!!What a place ER is when its full can't beat it Goose bump time

I for one hope we don't go up this season, last night showed how far we are behind the top teams in the division, people may not agree but on numerous occasions last night when chelsea had the ball it looked like a training session,we need to build a team gradually over the next season and a half to make sure when we go up we can compete with the best and not do a southampton or reading, and get beat nearly every week.

It is worth going up just for the money even if we do come straight back down, we would have plenty of dosh to build a better team

Agree15 Disagree1

20 Dec 2012 21:00:13
just for going up and coming straight back down will earn the club an absolute fortune so i defo want to go up.
Then theres the fact we are Leeds United we will have way better players interested in coming to us than any of the teams that went back up last season so we can build a squad able to stay up .
i would rather sit in the bottom 3 of the prem league for 1 season than sat in championship .

alot of peeps seem to be asking why druary not playing left back pelts right bac then byram right midfield.any thoughts ed
this makes sense click agree ,formation ok click disagree {Ed013's Note - Drury was set to play yesterday, but picked up a knock in training}

byram and green have worked well together and peltier loses concentration too easy and makes too many mistakes.

Peltier is our defensive weak link, end of!
Gimpos

Agree6 Disagree1

I probably agree. Had such high expectations for the fella but he hasnt really performed anything other than average. Pity but if Neil is improving the team with one or two additional players then he's gonna have to improve as the tream grows or find himself playing below par and highlighted as a weakness.

I don't know if anyone else is thinking the same thing but i think Michael Brown has been a top player for us this season. He has obviously isn't the fastest now, but is loyal, hardworking and sums up a good leeds player really. I didn't know what warnock was thinking when he got rid of clayton but Brown has actually stepped up. MOT

Believable9 Unbelievable9

Plus hes dirty, so yes he sums up a leeds player

Agree3 Disagree3

Brown is likely to get himself sent off at any given opportunity, as has happened in the past, leaving us with 10 men on the pitch. I am ashamed he is a Leeds player, no way is he among the best.

The result last night was pretty harsh to be fair we actually played pretty well in spells as we have in last 4 or 5 games.

Thomas is a major difference for us when he plays he seems to make options available and makes room for other players would love him to be permanent come January.

On the downside Peltier I'm sorry to say he's absolutely shocking regardless of being played out of position he can't even give a 5 yard pass how on earth is he our captain??

Overall at the minute it seems we've turned a corner but I think it has an awful lot to do with Thomas and just hope if we can't get him permanently then maybe we could get someone of the same qualities.

Mevermind the score line. We played good football last night instead of long ball forward. Let's hope it continues. If we play like that we can beat any championship team

I could not be more happy with leeds fans the passion even when they were losing. Sky tried filming Loads of leeds fans leaving like what happens during most 5 1 defeats but instead 5 fans left on camera and stadium still packed. The team were amazing throughout the first half leeds were just amazing dazzling passing, good runs no hoof ball and they just looked brilliant. The ref for me was awful for leeds I feel lampard should have been off for those tackles, from the looks of things leeds players were being struck in the face left right and centre and a definite penalty should have been given. The way leeds were playing was a team who will be going up leeds will be watching that and will be thrilled compared to the start of the season and with another player or two we will be up there. Other teams in championship will be fearful of us now Elland road is now a fortress now time to get attendances up like yesterday WE ARE GOING UP SAY WE ARE GOING UP

Agree7 Disagree2

If we defend like that we'll get relegated .

Result doesnt bother me. i think you expect chelseas class and fitness to prevail in the second half. 5-1 is harsh on our boys though. Felt sorry for ashdown. Terrific first half. he would be no1 in most championship teams. I was suprised Warnock played such a strong side. I thought the likes Thomas and diouf would have been rested with boro on saturday. Thought Rosco would have had a full game. Nevertheless very proud MOT

Believable10 Unbelievable5

Ashdown let four goals in at the near post-unacceptable

Agree6 Disagree6

20 Dec 2012 21:33:38
chelseas 1st goal good finish

the 2nd was 1 close range header near post no keeper would of stood a chance of seeing that ball untill it was too late .

mosses goal 3 was at near post maybe should of done better .

goal 4 was a 1 on 1 cant really class keeper been beat at near post for that.

goal 5 was a simple tap in in middle of goal and if anything was closer to the back post .

so to say ashdown let 4 in at near post is just harsh.

Agree6 Disagree3

It's not harsh it is a fact - he can't hold a ball either, his limp wrists palm everything out to where on rushing forwards should be. Up there with Peltier for signing of the season!!

20 Dec 2012 11:19:19
im just hoping that letting 5 goals in doesn't effect the teams confidence.
the team should be proud they give chelsea a good game .
time to kick on now lets get out there and tighten up the league for xmas and get promotion.

Mm i for one am worried but as i just mentioned hopefully lees and pearce are not going to play together everrr again

Proud Proud leeds fan today, no shame in last nights performance, Chelski enjoy your day at wembley (if you get there, come on you swans) maybe if chelski win it theyll give the fast spanish waiter a 5 year contract so he can ruin the club, again well done leeds

we best get ready for a hard 2nd half to the season ,it doesn't look like we have a run of easy ish games .

Believable2 Unbelievable5

We play all the teams we've played in the first half of the season?

JP

Agree2 Disagree3

We didnt have an easy run with games like Palace,Leicester and Hudders and look what happened, its all to play for, keep the faith.

Agree3 Disagree1

Bet you said the same when we played palace and leicster but we won both games just get behind the team and lets see where it takes us that goes for every leeds fan out there leedsmad.

We played well in the first half, then collapsed in the second half
If Leeds want to get promoted this season, how many first team players would make the grade in the premier league, personally we probably need another 5 players

takeover complete tomorrow ,cant wait til January i don't believe we will only sign a striker and the loan players kept in place .
i think that warnock will be given 7 mil transfer fee and a further 3 mil towards wages . i don't think he will spend it all but i think some prem class will be brought in.

i really hope we sell white in January.he can't even run properly with the ball its always too far away from him giving the opposition chance to take it off him .

Believable8 Unbelievable2

I agree. Not a fan of White. Everyone says wow he's got pace but that's it. He cant run and kick a ball, especially in the wind and rain like last night.

I think the best thing for him would be to go out on loan for at least the rest of the season and develop his game. Hopefully then he will turn into at least an adequate footballer.

The score line last night was embarassing but that's the only thing, we played great football...we defended well first half and second half we played the best football IMO but the only downside was naivity at the back on we got beat on the break for most of their goals...it's a learning curve and we'll be better as a result...I thought Thomas was sensational and we need to sign him up pronto, he ripped their defence to pieces :)

Believable8 Unbelievable8

You must have been to a different game than the rest of us pal

Complaining about Michael Brown? if we had Norris playing last night who would of got stuck Into the likes of frank lampard and Moses running down the wing. He was stuck in and that's what Leeds is all about! I think we played excellent football to say they had their first team out in the second half and Saturday is the key point for me and that's why Warnock took the players he did off for a rest. I'm proud to be a Leeds fan, and the atmosphere was buzzing last night. Lets up the attendance in the championship and get Elland road a fortress again! Proud.

Hears my assessment of last night.

We played well and gave a good account of ourselves. In the end Chelsea showed their class and over powered us. But I don't think the score line reflects how the entire game went. At the end of the day we had fun with cup run but now it's down to the serious business of getting promotion. Remember there's always the fa cup!

P. s . The next time we play Chelsea it will be a premiership match and we will be a stronger team. There time will come!

could do without the fa cup really

I thought we played well til we got to the final third. mcormack should have been introduced long before he was . like warnock says if the lees header goes in just before half time maybe would have been different. shame they didn't rest matta!

Good effort last night, I would of liked to of seen us hold out for longer in the second half but that's life. You got to say well done Chelsea to keep the fitness levels so high and show their class. Roll on Saturday. Vinny.

The reality is that Torres cost £50m and LUFC £52m. Tonight we gave them a game and we should be proud of the performance. Great first half and some nice football across the 90 minutes. The result is irrelevant, promotion is the priority. Becchio's goal was class by the way.

I'd just like to say that as much as I enjoyed the first half and couldnt falt any of the players for there effort, I think nw made some terrible choices with the subs. For 1. He should have kept diouf on as he kept the ball well,Whenever he had the ball they had less chances of scoring. 2. Thomas ? he should have stayed on as he was creating chances. Adie white ? No way. Green should have come off in place of macca if you ask me. A few odd decisions if you ask me peltier another. But like I say still enjoyed the first half and great pass that lead to the goal and great finish from bechio, Hope he does'nt attract pl interest because of it. Great player. dp.

Believable2 Unbelievable7

Have you thought that NW made them changes as the game was all but lost, and he wanted to keep the players fit and fresh for Saturday?

forget about tonight, first half was fantastic, class showed in the end, our defence let them go too easy for the goals, we shouldve just shoved 11 behind the ball, but hey-ho, focus on promotion, we had a VERY good cup run and took 2 memorable scalps along the way, onwards and upwards
