Right so I'm a season ticket holder not that that has anything to do with anything but I'm getting a little fed up with going to support my club and being force fed all the anti bates propaganda outside the ground. On Saturday it was flyers telling me that I shouldn't enter the ground on the day of the saints game for 7 mins to represent the 7 years of "lies" that bates has brought. I don't trust bates at all but he clearly has ambition as proved with the appointment of Neil warnock. We need to stop this at games and get united behind the team. We should be marching on together not pulling in opposite directions. Please can we all be in the ground on time to cheer the team out, show Neil and sky sports why it's know as fortress elland road and why we have a reputation of being the best fans in football. {Ed013's Note - Good post}

Believable26 Unbelievable2

No, GREAT post!

Agree14 Disagree1

Great post indeed. Everyone knows we are the best fans in football but up until NW's appointment we were treated shabbily by KB for a prolonged period of time. Definitely bygones from me but the way I see it the protests actually did a bit of good.

Agree8 Disagree5

I don't think we are the best fans in the land, I'm sorry but the behaviour of some fans on match days does nothing positive for the club or the team! We may have one day been fans it seams people don't live by Leeds Leeds Leeds, I don't support LUST or TSS or any other anti Bates movement they are not helping the course of my team. I think if it continues it will lead to disturbances between fans.

Agree8 Disagree6

Great post mate. I wonder who's gonna be the first d******d to disagree?!

Agree2 Disagree7

Ok I will be that d******d I think the fall in attendance and also the protest and lust to some degree have forced bates' hand.
He knows he has to do something to get the attendance back up, it is all money out of hes pocked and hes doing it.
I'm not saying it is all down to this but it will have help make his mind up in appointing Warnock.
Maybe now we can all get behind the new manager and the team but lets not be slagging them off, that have tried to bring change to our club and calling them d******d while at the same time calling for Unity-on the Terese's its a bit hypocritical

Agree3 Disagree4

Who's this Terese woman then?

So NW's first signing is going to be Danny Webber my guess will be short term to cover for Ross's ban

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Ross won't get a ban he was head butted and spat at he won't get anything the only Leeds player that might get a ban is Bruce because he went at El-Hadji Diouf and Pascal Chimbonda who was the aggressors. There was a tunnel fight at the end of the Liverpool vs Scum match and nothing happened with there players.

Never thought Grayson would get to work with Rhodes this year

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Only way. Let's hope he works more with a couple of Scottish team mates who tend to be our main goal scorers these days.

Keith curls named manager of notts county.
Has anyone any info on who warnock will bring in as coaching staff ? I know Ronnie jepson, qpr reserve boss has been mentioned. Can't see blackwell returning as number 2, but I'd expect leaders as New staff, n probly who he has worked wi before either as players or staff.?

Mick Jones is his right hand man... He was at Huddersfield with him

I've heard a pretty strong rumour that Bates will give Warnock £20million to spend this summer. He never wanted Grayson to have the cash he's made from transfer, TV, gates etc. as he didn't trust him. He will also tie down Snodgrass, Lees and Clayton on long-term deals.

Early targets include Taarbt, James McArthur and Ashley Williams.

Believable2 Unbelievable10

Congratulations to Ken Bates for getting us Warnock credit is due, but I think you're a bit optimistic there.

Agree11 Disagree1

If that's true which I doubt but if it is we can start with Jordan Rhodes. Grayson wanted him at ER anyway.

Agree10 Disagree1

Think NW will sort defence out first,at least we wont be linked with everybody whos ever played for Leeds,can expect one or two from QPR though.

any idea if nw will choose a new or different captain

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Sean Derry - Don't panic we have already played Palace twice this season!

I think he'l leave it a game or 2 before he does that

Simon Grayson in talks with local minibus firms as he prepares to drive over to Leeds to pick up Rachubka, Connelly, Bromby, Brown, Varynen, Forssell and Paynter. He is likely to choose a firm in Leeds as they will pay him the most money.

Believable6 Unbelievable2

Ha made me chuckle lets just hope he does take the riff raff from us

Agree5 Disagree0

He might take Brown, Varynen and paynter as they would be good players in league 1 . i can see him trying to get somma in on loan to give him some fitness if somma recovers in time

Agree2 Disagree2

Brown's a Warnock favourite - he's going nowhere. Expect him to start in place of Pugh on Saturday.

Agree4 Disagree1

Stop knocking grayson as at least two of them was down to bates ie forsell varynen {Ed013's Note - SG has said that he doesn't need to strengthen his current team. Neil Warnock has worked with Bromby and Brown before so may look to them in the near future, as for the rest I will drive them there myself!}

Agree5 Disagree0

Ed remember my post before xmas about how NW wanted to sign Leigh Bromby when he was QPR manager but grayson didnt want to let him go. and i remember getting alot of stick for it on here. Watch Bromby get a good run in the side now {Ed020's Note - i'll take your word on it :P }

Agree2 Disagree2

Let's see then......

If SG really loves Leeds he will swap Rhodes for Paynter ,

I'd swap anyone for Paynter.........

I'd swap the painter down the road for Paynter......

shame to see Grayson go to Huddersfield Town, deserved a better job than that {Ed020's Note - haha meow}

Believable2 Unbelievable5

Best of luck to him he did a solid job given how little he had to work with. Hopefully NW can attract 2 or 3 new players and persuade KB to dip his short arms in to his deep pockets

Agree7 Disagree2

Like i have always said lg1 is SG level he is inept in the championship as proven at Leeds and Blackpool, HTAFC will not go up this season i've just laid on £50 upon hearing about SG

Agree4 Disagree4

Grayson's already got 2 teams out of league one in 3 seasons of league one management. Not sure that's a wise use of £50 mate...

Agree3 Disagree2

He's a lg1 manager but everyone knows his game now!

Agree2 Disagree1

Hes not a lg 1 manager, wish people would stop saying that! {Ed013's Note - Apparently Huddersfield are in league 1 so that makes him a league 1 manager!}

20 Feb 2012 17:58:37
plain and simple, lets STOP the protests, yes we hate ken bates, but at the end of the day he has got us warnock, now lets fill elland road and rock it for southampton! lets show the team what we can do to help!

Believable16 Unbelievable0

Still dont get the 'we hate Bates' rubbish. Just look at how things are playing out. Rather be in our position than some others.

Anyone know what happened in the tunnel after Donny game? From The Fiver: "West Yorkshire police are continuing their investigation into Saturday's tunnel bust-up between Warnock's side and Doncaster at Elland Road, when El Hadji Diouf and Ross McCormack appeared to clash." {Ed020's Note - diouf spat at maccers and he headbutted him so i've heard}

I head pretty much the same, I won't say what i've heard bruce did in reply

I'm so happy and excited following Neil's appointment. This is the biggest thing to happen to the club in years. Once again we finally have a passionate manager who believes and shows his true feelings. I've never followed warnock in great detail but this guy lives and breaths football. For me this one action has turned this season around and given us something positive to think about. If we don't make it this season, well then next season will be our time for glory. Personally I think we have a great chance now this season.

Bates we congratulate you!

Neil we are very happy to have you onboard!

MOT. Danny, a very excited Leeds fan

Believable16 Unbelievable0

Well said, let hope he gets a few in and more than a few out!! larry may take a few to uddersfield {Ed020's Note - fingers crossed he does}

Agree8 Disagree0

Wasn't getting promoted the best thing in recent years? Some people have very short memories.

I think NW can get us to the PL ... we need to put our differences to one side at the moment and show Neil and the visiting teams just what sleds are all about ... we need to make ER a fortress gain .. just like it used to be .. let's stick together raise the roof and get behind the team and Neil ..... we are Leeds !

Believable9 Unbelievable0

20 Feb 2012 16:21:26
so we have now got neil warnock, not everyones cup of tea but definately good at what he does so if you love leeds and think filling elland road for the remaining home games is the right thing to do nows your chance to play your part in getting the best out of our lads.... COME ON LEEDS!! (press believe)

Believable16 Unbelievable0

The Don couldn't get our current squad promoted just hope NW can get three good players in to give us a chance. Moving some of the dead wood out would be a bonus

Agree6 Disagree2

How many more loan players are we allowed ? {Ed013's Note - 5 in your match day squad, not sure on limits for the club in total}

From the official site lets hope we can get a quality cb
and a quality cm especially if Delph deal won't be extended

New Leeds United manager Neil Warnock is hoping to move swiftly in terms of strengthening his squad.

Warnock was in the dressing room before Saturday's win against Doncaster Rovers and also spoke to the players at half-time, despite watching the contest from the stands.

The new boss had met chairman Ken Bates on Friday before being confirmed as the club's new manager less than 24 hours later, and he admits he is looking to strengthen his squad in a bid to keep the Play-Off chase alive

"The chairman was supportive when I spoke to him," said Warnock. "He knows I feel we need two or three players if we can get the right ones to supplement what we've already got.

"Gwyn Williams will be trying as well to let one or two players go out, as will my staff.

"Ideally I'd love to get somebody in before the weekend. I do feel there are areas we have to improve if we're not to write this season off. I don't want to write this season off, not just yet - even though the bookies aren't giving us much opportunity.

"One of the reasons for coming was because there's an opportunity there. The size of the club is geared for that situation. It's fair to say that the squad has to improve but there are a lot of players here so they have to prove it at the same time. The challenge is there.

"Usually when you come in as a manager, you say it's going to take you two or three years to build the club. I haven't got two or three years so I don't want that. I want to try and win every game and see it where it takes us. That's what I said to the players on Saturday: 'The situation is we have to beat Doncaster rovers, there's nothing else about it.'

"That's what I felt before the game and at half-time and the lads responded in a fabulous way because they could have lost that game quite easily.

"We move on now, we have a week's training and I expect us to be a little bit better next weekend. We have to grab the opportunity now and try to get as many points as we can."

While the new boss still communicated messages to the players on Saturday, he admits watching from the stands was a frustrating exercise.

"I wish now that I'd put my name on the bench," he said.

"There was a space and Andy Leaning asked me before the game and I said no. But with 10 minutes gone, I wished I could have gone down onto the bench.

"It was a frustrating for me - only little things, nothing drastic, but things I take for granted. When we did change things second half, it worked a lot better. And that's without showing them on the training ground.

"Now we've got a week, I expect them to be better at Portsmouth and a lot better against Southampton."

Believable8 Unbelievable0

Don't expect Delph to be playing for anyone for a while - looked a nasty injury.

Agree3 Disagree1

He is another in the line of Darren Anderton, Kieron Dyer, Michael Owen he will never be anything because of the injuries he has suffered he will always pick up more

Grayson has gone to Huddersfield! Hopefully he will take some of our fringe players on loan so Warnock can bring in someone new.

Believable7 Unbelievable1

Ed is this true can't see it on web yet {Ed020's Note - sky sports have said its almost a done deal.}

Agree3 Disagree0

I have always said he is a lg1 manager Blackpool, Leeds, now Huddersfield says it all he is not yet equipped for this level, now it's time to lock the woman of Huddersfield up!

Agree4 Disagree3

I dont think finishing 7th in the Championship qualifies him as a league 1 manager

Agree7 Disagree3

Even blackpool got up the year before 7th the championship is easy to finnish 7th, SG is a terrible manager, at the end the players didn't want to play for him that is a well know fact.

Agree2 Disagree5

2 promotions in first 5 years as a manager is not exactly terrible. Some people don't get 2 promotions is an entire career. With another 10 years' learning Grayson will be a top manager and there'll be a few people on here eating their words - you being one of them.

Agree5 Disagree1

Fergie never won promotion !

Instead of the stupid plans for a boycott of the Southampton home game, lets try and get 30,000 in Elland Road for NW 1st home league game. Then lets revenge the 3-1 defeat to the saints....and march on into the play-offs!! Come on now lets stick together for the last 14 games and see where these boys can get us! We'd all written the season off...so it will be a great bonus if we can make play-offs, lets get right behind both the new manager and players again. MOT

Nice to see some positivity over the appointment and on the site, its been too gloom and doom lately, ive never been his biggest fan with some of the stuff hes said in the past but i hope NW does the job for us, im thankful we didnt get Lee Clark in.

For some of the people who say Shaun Derry back in due to NW, not a good idea, he gave the team sheets to Palace a few years ago, hes a rat for doing that

Time to go back to where we belong!! PL!!

Believable17 Unbelievable2

20 Feb 2012 00:53:13
I'd just like to make a comment. NW says in an interview in the Independent that he read the fans forums and part of the reason he is with us was the positivity we showed for his possible appointment. I know we can have our opinions but slagging off our guys is not going to help them is it. If Howson had been reading them no wonder he wanted out. MOT. Let's not just say it but do it.

Believable12 Unbelievable0

Deep down I know you have a very important point. However, you have to ask yourself what is the point of a banter sight?
I for one couldn't stand idly by when players aren't putting anywhere near 100% - the money and the responsibility on players shoulders to the playing public demands that despite all off the pitch 'wranglings' that they put everything into a match - Nothing less and going hiding in games is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!

Agree9 Disagree0

Original poster here - 2nd poster you do have a totally valid point there too and we should discuss the failings of players but we do have a tendency to crucify some of our players through no fault of their own. Howson is a good example. I think we all agreed he was inspirational in our 4-3-3 formation (a formation that I really enjoyed watching) so he wasn't a bad player just not as effective playing in a position that didn't really suit him. He seemed so concerned with positioning and keeping shape that he couldn't play naturally. If he gets the correct role at Norwich we'll all be saying 'why did we sell him' forgetting that we lambasted him in his final 12 months with us. Our passion sometimes stops us from seeing the full picture. MOT

Agree5 Disagree0

Howson will fit perfectly in the norwich system as they play a diamond. I always say buy the players for the formation....dont change it to suit the players.

Agree6 Disagree0

The first reply poster - Again I agree with you - I feel that Grayson played the wrong formation for Howson too often and when he played the right one Howson and the team seemed to do well. To make matters worse Grayson played Howson regardless to the system which meant Howson suffered to the point of confusion. I felt that Howson was lost in games at times because of this which can be interpretted as hiding? I mainly blame SG but Howson did take flack and probably as you say over the top.

Agree6 Disagree0

Wow we have a harmonious site here don't we everyone agreeing and being all happy must have something to do with NW

Agree2 Disagree1

Grayson best teams played 4-5-1 and I think the big problem Larry had was losing Johnson, which he wasn't happy about. I suspect he less bothered about Kilkenny with Clayton coming back from loan but Brown's early injury cause a lot of problems in terms of balancing the team.

Grayson's problem isn't that he's a poor manager - his record for a young manager is exceptionally good - but he does lack experience and that told sometimes this season when he seemed to be lacking solutions to the problems created by injuries and the departure of some of his better players.

I do wish people on here would get some perspective though and stop slagging Grayson off. 2 promotions in his first few years in the job is way better than most young managers and he improved our position every year. Maybe it was time for a change but there's no excuse for the vitriol that some of the less intelligent, less mature posters seem to be continuing with.
