Happy with butland but Kenny has been ok this season.
More important is the 4 or 5 outfield players needed to even fin anywhere near top 6.
Irish striker is a talent for future, that's all.
Let's see some real ready made players come before we get excited. shrew leeds

Kenny has never been ok, all I hear is "good shot stopper" he's an f'ing keeper so he should be a good shot stopper, don't know if the injury story is true but (and I may eat my words) I'm a lot happier about the prospect of Butland been no.1 don't think we'll be able to snipe him for less than five/six million possibly more if he is any decent but if he can stop silly goals happening we're less likely to lose simple as.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think they have got Buckland in because Kenny is carrying an ankle injury, and with some very big games coming up, they need cover, Obviously McDermott doesn't rate Cairns - and if Butland impresses, maybe we will buy him in the summer.Loaning players is an ideal way to try them first.

John Charles 10th anniversary today! Hats off to the giant gentleman and his name bellow out at boro!

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm happy with Butland, but I haven't been that unhappy with Kenny. He's had more good games than bad, which is something I can really say about the rest of the team this season. I agree with the OP that there are other positions that we need strengthening first, unless we can play two keepers at once, then that would be a good move.

So does anyone know much about this McDaid kid? I know he's meant to be prolific in the Irish league but could he make the step up? Also I see Lewis Cook has been talked about a bit lately, does anyone know whether he might be ready to do a Mowatt on us?

First thing cellino should do is get rid of david haigh the blokes a clown!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why is a clown? Just because his consortiums takeover messed up doesn't mean he isn't good at his job at LEEDS and I believe he is more in touch with fans than most directors past and present. let's just hope this takeover goes through and Cellino and his cash help us return to the top end of premiership. But knowing our luck I wouldn't bank on it. MOT.

I haven't read the full article but I noticed on the OS that one of the articles was entitled "Football returns to Elland Road. Now i'm in my sixties and I had to seriously think back to when we last saw footfball at ER and correct me if i'm wrong but I believe it was 2001. I seem to recall we beat villa 3-1. Please feel free to correct me.

No, the article refers to a football Jack Charlton kicked on top of the West Stand, the recent winds have dislodged it.

Had it on good authority that Massimo Cellino was at the ground today.

Also worth mentioning that in last nights Mail on Line tablet version there were pictures of Cellinos son and mate giving Leeds salute on the pitch and another both wearing Leeds shirts.

Butland loan deal 99% done according to Stoke City o/s.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Bit unusual this. Deal has been agreed and all parties confirm that. However it hasn't actually been done. Something not quite right?

with all this talk of keepers being signed gomes or butland think both aren't that good gomes is a calamity and butland is hugely overrated by the media, the only keeper i'd be happy if we signed is Alex McCarthy lad has good kickouts amazing reflexes the like if never seen before kid has got everything and i'd think he would come back to leeds if he was guarenteed number 1 thoughts anyone on who you would like if takeover goes through as goalkeeper

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'm not that unhappy with Kenny. I think there are other areas in the team that need strengthening before a keeper

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - Agreed, the squad requires quality in other areas first}

I reackon we need 2 wingers, a goal scorer and a creative mid.

I hear, Lamela, Soldado, Kagawa are all available.

Agree0 Disagree0

Completely agree with Mccarthy being better but he he isn't available would love him back, and would take Butland over Gomes

Agree0 Disagree0

Press conference mentioning an injury to Kenny so more of a necessity than a vote of no confidence, my opinions on Kenny are known but even if he was fit the competition for #1 wouldn't be a bad thing!

Agree0 Disagree0

It would be far easier to say where we have quality, rather than where we need to strengthen. Ross quality, Byram, Mowatt, Smith potential and as for the rest they have good games sometimes but in general it's the worse Leeds squad I can remember. Stickey approaching 50 years old

I am glad it's Butland not Gomes. Whether we think goalkeeper was a priority or not he is a high profile signing and it is obvious who will be funding it so he must not have any concerns over the FL decision. It sends out a very promising message.

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't agree with the guy who is happy with Kenny. He's the first player I'd replace.

His stats speak for themselves. Barely more than 1 save per goal whereas McCarthy makes 4 saves per goal. He flaps at high balls and his distribution is atrocious - pure Warnock hoofball.

The problem with keepers launching it forward is that it makes it almost impossible to play possession football and Kenny's default mode is to launch it forward. Once Kenny gets the ball it usually ends up with the opposition in control. Once that happens you're always going to be playing on the back foot.

Looking forward to Butland - we might actually start to see some proper build up play.

Agree0 Disagree0

I do agree that kenny isn't great but I would say he's a player that just belends in, he isn't terrible nor is he a game changer. To be fair to him he is always getting the ball played back to him even when he clearly tells them not to pass back to him (notts forest match) he fits in with the style of play and the age range

Agree0 Disagree0

I meant blends in lol
