How come a team like Bournemouth AFC has more to spend on players than LUFC?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 Jan 2014 22:39:05
Crawley Town & Dagenham can spend more money than us!

Agree0 Disagree0

Bournemouth have recently aquired a 'sugar daddy'. I think he is a Russian (not sure), Google it.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed039's Note - max demin is his name)

21 Jan 2014 20:01:19
Max denim? He's on Rotherham market on a satdy mornin sellin fake Levi's, bang next to the egg stall. Mind you that's how abramovic started so fair play.

I can't believe people are saying McDermott out. If we get rid of him then we will have had 4 managers since Feb 2012. How do so called FANS expect us to get promoted, hire Mourinho. Managers need more than 10 months to build a team. You can moan about his signings all you want but all managers sign some players that aren't good enough. Look at Warnock he signed Pearce and everyone slated him last season and this season he has been one of our best players. We need to be patient and see what this takeover brings. We can't be blaming different people all the time. First it was Bates, then he went, GFH, now they're nearly gone, new owners soon I wonder how long before they are wanted "out". People wanted Grayson sacked, it happened, Warnock sacked, it happened, and now McDermott is wanted out. We need to show support for our manager not want to lynch him. I know it's frustrating when it doesn't go our way but the answer is not constantly firing people. Show some loyalty and pride and get behind the club, players and manager.

CreweWhite

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I do remember people wanting Grayson out, and people suddenly start talking about how good he was and was barges fault so we should get him back. Then they want Gus poyet? Did he get Brighton promoted? Can't people just be patient? Waited 10 years, and finally owners who actually want to do something for the club, improve academy, grass roots, interact with the fans, and there getting trashed all over social media. Get a grip and be a football fan, not petulant children who don't get there own way

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on. Be careful what you wish for. Time to back the manager. Time to be united .

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd just be happy to get a few wins starting at home to Ipswich, even seems a long time since celebrating a goal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Could not agree more. The only person who could turn this around tomorrow is Jesus Christ! He could turn £2.50 into £10M.

Typical impatient negative fans - players read these sites and must be intimidated after 2 games or won't ever want to sign. Carrot not stick.

Agree0 Disagree0

Impatient?

We've had 12 years of 15 of disastrous mismanagement, awful football and generally lumbering from one crisis to the next.
I'd say the fans have been remarkably patient.

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on. Couldn't of put it better myself. It's been said many times on here over the past few years that Rome wasn't built in a day. We don't want to invest heavily in the team, go under & then be bailed out by Uncle Ken again.
In McD I trust.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes I agree back BMD but please sort out the ownership and give Brian some money to buy some Quality not bloody loans and players that can't get into their own first teams? MOT

why can't we make a sneaky bid for billy mackay, thought other clubs would have gone for him in this window.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree too he gets to tight and got no pace! Just because he's blonde and English people seem to put him in same bracket as Jonny woodgate same thing happened with mat killgallon

Anyone else think Tom Lees is a problem. watched him a lot this year and last. I can't see why everyone harps on about him.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree, we went to all the games last yr an when he played we thought the same, too slow and doesn't get tight enough at times, think he lacks a bit of concentration at times

Agree0 Disagree0

His lack of concentration is his biggest failing. Switches off, makes a mistake and then his confidence drains. Liability in my eyes

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he is solid enough as a defender but the first thing he always does is hoof the ball up the pitch aimlessly

Agree0 Disagree0

Exactly my thoughts. Doesn't know how to do anything other than hoof it . Although I think on Saturday in the 21st minute he did pass sideways to pearcey!

Agree0 Disagree0

Lees most overrated player at Leeds since Ian Hart . can't pass, can't run and positional sense woeful .

Agree0 Disagree0

Hey, leave Harte alone.
Great servant, great dead ball player and he wasn`t the worst defender we ever had. We could do with a few Ian Hartes right now.

isn't there normally a transfer embargo once takeover talks are announced? barring frees and emergency loans. does that give a clearer picture to everyone complaining about transfers?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 Jan 2014 16:59:46
Mcdermott doesn't want to bring players in now because he wants to continue using the excuse, we're working with what we've got.if he brings his signings in and it goes tits up he's got no excuse.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Get real, haven't heard such a far out rumour since reading on here that Big Jack might be resigning for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

The man is not spineless far from it, he took on a club that could of been relgated and put his reputation on the line, mischivous post

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jan 2014 17:52:30
What reputation? He had just been sacked by a club about to be relegated! Funny how he always forgets to mention that when he goes into his reading spiel!

Agree0 Disagree0

The man took us on when we could have been relegated, don't make me laugh.the man was claiming job seekers allowance after been sacked by a club half the size of ours, if anything we took a risk on him not the other way round, and reputation that was in tatters when we took him on, and after the signings he's made so far, do we really want to be giving him any funds, looks like we had a lucky escape with Barnes, thank you gfh.

Agree0 Disagree0

Utter garbage -we are extremely lucky to have him. He's in a difficult place between owners (not sure who) and will move forards when the T/O completed. let's face it we are not yet fit for promotion, let him sort out the side ready for a good run next season -then we can judge the man!

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jan 2014 16:22:39
Not a clue, quality players already snapped up by teams around us. BMD has lost it, the players he has brought in have all failed, as for the two new loans we have, well at least the bench will be warm. I am fed up of false dawns and us mugs that keep paying and turning up are again left wanting. Not sure how long this so called take over is going to take but bet it will be conveniently after the window closes. BMD may be a half decent coach but can't trust him with the transfer kitty.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I can't understand some comments on here. There is a sale of a majority shareholding in progress. GFH aren't going to spend money on transfer fees when 75% is going to be sold at an agreed price. The potential new owners aren' t going to buy players until the sale goes through. Wait until the sale is completed and there's no activity on the transfer front before making judgements.
Chris

Agree0 Disagree0

We need a manager that takes no $hit and has a no nonsense approach.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - Like Warnock?}

I think all the Rational thinking Leeds fans actually knew the take over would be completed after the window closed, were used to been treated like mugs just get on with it and suffer we've done 10 years what's another 10!

Agree0 Disagree0

We need to fire BMD and make Michael Brown Manager. Leeds would never lack that fighting spirit. The 1991-92 Leeds team was all about putting on that white uniform and playing with hunger for our Club and fans. Look at Lee Chapman for example. Not the fanciest of players but DIE HARD LEEDS!

Agree0 Disagree0

Step up Gus Poyet

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, Gus Poyet would leave Sunderland for Leeds, despite his relegation battle looking to be going quite well at the moment.

Agree0 Disagree0

"We need to fire BMD and make Michael Brown Manager."

Yep, just what we want, a manager sent off every other week.

Now I've had enough of BMd for real. Telling us January tough time to do deals. Was it tough for the Terriers? Doesn't matter what time of the year if you have no money. BMd liar taking Leeds fans for fools. Disrespectful. BMd out.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think it is a tough time to get decent players in, but you have a point about Wells. He was a bit of a risk, but Udderfield took the gamble and so far it's paying off. I reckon we may get somebody on loan, whether they will be any good who knows?

Agree0 Disagree0

You know there would've been a time when the likes of Wells, LeFondre etc would've been snappeed up long before their price tags got so large, the players we have signed from local rivals in the past all made or increased their reputations with Lufc, we should of been scouting local players for years but again thanks Bates ya fecked us up good and proper!

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jan 2014 15:02:07
There we have it basically saying its tough to do deals in January may have to wait for the summer full of crap as usual! How's it tough every1 else seems to be making deals is it just leeds that can't negotiate deals in the country?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Is it that much different to the Bates era. me thinks not. still a strong smell of rubbish around ER.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jan 2014 13:50:07
BMcD on tv: "We're trying to do something in January, but I've spoken to one of the owners and I've said January is a tough time to do deals". I agree that sides will be reluctant to release quality players whilst they are fighting for promotion/relegation, but it also leaves a bitter taste that the best we can expect in January is loanees/freebies. The challenge for the summer is that we need to be first in line when the quality players are available but we rarely are

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 Jan 2014 13:40:10
Reading this morning that bmcd might not be able to get anymore players in during transfer window and might wait until the summer. See Hull City are going to be Hull Tigers, what about changing Leeds United to de ja vu FC,
Same story every year. I don't know about takeover we could of started from scratch quicker . New ground team . The joblot

Agree0 Disagree0

Or moaning gits R US

Agree0 Disagree0

Why is it they have not been on about season ticket renewals so early this year, last few seasons they have been out around xmas time. could it be anything to do with the never ending takeover saga?

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe we could just change to Norwich Feeder Club to make things easier for everyone

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jan 2014 13:23:37
Time to look up my fellow Leeds fan's not down. No doubt about b.m.d he is the right man for the job. Just need the money given to him. So he can do a propa job. Mot

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Its six games on the trot that's relegation form and the next two games don't look good how many games do we go until something has tp give?

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jan 2014 12:54:10
If lita, emnes and luke Moore are the players we are looking to bring then the new owners and bmcd have little ambition. let's hope they are nothing but rumours!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Trouble is we are rapidly reaching stage where the players we would have wanted are gone. BM may have to just think are they better than what I have rather than are they what I really wanted? Potentially Emnes and Moore offer more long term than some we have.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd be quite pleased if one of those players came in. All three like to run at defenders which is what we need. I don't understand why we all think that leeds should be entitied to top quality signings, we are in the championship for god sake.

Agree0 Disagree0

Finally someone with a bit of sense where a mid table championship club take saturday for example we scrape a crowd of 22k for a home game against the league leaders how poor is that and don't give me all this about it was on sky had it of been a prem side no doubt all the fair weather fans would of turned up just for that one game cannot believe some still say where the best fans in the country away from home maybe but at home are fans just hide away and make the same excuse time to step up and get behind are manager the best thing to happen to this club in years he alone deserves our support.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jan 2014 11:55:04
McCormack to West Ham or is that just more hearsay?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

How many more times do fans need to be told the days where this club sells players on the cheap are over west ham are skint they couldn't afford ross anyway

Agree0 Disagree0

What makes you think those days are over? players will always leave a struggling championship side for the prem, no matter how big you think the clubs are

West Ham bid 7m for Ricky Lambert

Agree0 Disagree0

But did he join west ham no lambert is still at the saints if the owners are that bad then they would of sold byram to cardiff in the summer

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jan 2014 11:15:53
Enough doom and gloom please! Anyone who thought we would gain instant promotion after getting a new manager was kidding themselves. McDermott is the right man and you can't expect him to work magic in less than a year. That is ridiculous. Yes we're playing badly but that's the players faults. We need to have faith and make sure this year wasn't a complete waste, i.e. sacking another manager before he has the chance to enforce the changes he wants and make the team his own (Warnock was a lost cause in this). Now get behind the team you bunch of drama queens!
Leeds Demon

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree mate, on the whole.

I thought we played pretty well on Saturday; for a team low on morale, luck and general ability.

And against the side at the top of the league. We deserved a point at least imo.

My worry is too many changes may unsettle the side even more, unless of course the incoming players are far far far far far .(you get my drift) better than the the one they are coming in to replace.

At last the voice of reason. Building a team takes years, just look at Leicester as the example.

Agree0 Disagree0

We all need to get behind the whole club I've said it before and ill say it again brian mcdermott is the man to take this club forward but all us fans need to do are bit and support him all the way he will get us to where we want to be given time.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jan 2014 10:45:46
Bolton and Middlesborough are vying to sign Danny Graham on loan. This is the type of player we should be looking at, yes he has been poor in the premier league however at championship level he is better than what we currently have. A number of posters write about the opportunity in the summer to get rid of Warnock's deadwood however the players being linked with Leeds i.e. Moore and Lita are just as much deadwood as the players we want to get rid of. Brian, Moore or Lita, No No No No No No No. Although if you have got no money you have to shop in the bargain bin (however no-one appears to have told Bolton that)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 Jan 2014 10:28:04
Had an hour to kill whilst waiting for some varnish to dry! I read through a vast number of recent posts and am convinced that BMD picked his team on Saturday based on the posts on this site! In addition I think any areas he strengthens in the squad are based on posts (not choice of player but position!). To that end can I suggest we research carefully before firing from the hip! Oh and hi Brian - keep at it!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 Jan 2014 09:08:04
Still not convinced about BMD. The players who made a difference against Leicester were Brown and Varney. His new wingers were rubbish. £1 million Murphy couldn't make the team. Hunt no where to be seen. So far we have young never will be's, Old has beens and sick notes. If he goes for Fryatt (Old sick note) or Moore (average on a good day) I think we should get used to avoiding relegation rather than expecting promotion or even the play offs.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 Jan 2014 09:06:22
Kebe looks a worst signing than the Duck botherer we had for a few games last season. He is so lightwight and not prepared to stick his head or foot into any 50 / 50 Not good enough and never going to win the fans over, another bargain basement loan player who will warm the bench and collect his money. Got to say the Stewart doesn't look much better. The wages we much be spending on players who clearly are not good enough.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

20 Jan 2014 12:18:52
Both players are good enough for this level. Give them a chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

Unless my eyes deceived me, Kebe put his head right in for a 50/50 in the first half, got fouled and won a free kick.

Stewart put a great cross in for Ross to head against the post, did he not.

Yes they both had bad moments too but this was only their second game, with 2 different formations used.

Agree with 1st reply tbh, give them a chance

Did anyone see how Diouf could hardly run faster than a jog, total shadow of his form last year, looked well rusty.

ExCroggywhite

Agree0 Disagree0

That was varney actually who crossed the ball to mcormack to head on to the post.

Agree0 Disagree0

Last poster, fair enough, he must have been crouching, was sure it was shorty Stewart

We only need to win our next 17 games in a row for the benchmark of 2 points a game. Way to go Brian. Tell us about your time at a place called Reading.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why are some people so sore about bmd's references to his earlier experience at Reading? Quite normal to use your knowledge and refer to it! Some people here seem to think we're still a massive club and like noone else! Find some REAL issues to go mad about - if you have some brains it shouldn't be too hard these days?

On the way to work this morning listening to talk sport.

Warnock speaking about Norwich and their win at the weekend and he said,

"and it was my man again Snodgrass"

This guy really has no clue does he.

What a joker!

COLIN!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good point, especially as Snodgrass was a McAllister signing. Incidentally, I went to the Fulham/Norwich cup replay the other night (don't ask why!); Snodgrass their only decent player on the night. Becchio came on at the end to no effect whatsoever.Looks out of condition, but who can blame the poor sod since he never gets a game. However, I wouldn't be too excited about him coming back here. Anyone know if the player on Friday could be beckford noticed he was not in squad on sat and we all know it's complicated at Bolton

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed013's Note - No, he is injured}

20 Jan 2014 07:52:11
whatever happens we don't want to go for quick fix.
i mean I think stewart was one, everyone crying out for a winger and he was instantly available.
he cert will make no diff to our team winning wise.
he will be very frustrating and bit powder puff.
id rather just put up with few wins and losses but get in people who will take us up in summer.
if we fill it with quick fix average players then end of season we will get rid of players like norris, diouf, drury etc but be left with more average players. sign good quality or don't bother. shrew leeds

Get in Franck Moussa and GMS now to help prepare for next season. Go for Chris Wood in the summer, as I doubt Leicester will keep him for the PL. Most of our squad players will be gone - Diouf, Varney, Pugh, Brown, Norris etc. so there'll be wages free. Kebe won't stay as we won't go up, plus I don't think he's good enough.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

How can you possibly determine that Jimmy Kebe isn't good enough after two games? The guy had little or no game time at CP and it's clear for all to see that he's not "match fit". How does he gain match fitness, quite simple, he as to be played in games . exactly what his manager doing. Against the wendies, the Leeds midfield was non-existent and for a winger to be capable of doing anything, he has to be given the ball.

Incidentally, David Norris's contract ends in 2015, not this year. However, no argument with Franck Moussa.
