He'd been written off by many, but got to hold my hands up and say that Charlie Adam was immense for them yesterday. I'd have him in our squad.

Not heard much of him all season so no thanks

His age and premiership wages make it unlikely anyway tbh.

He’s generally been out of the match day squad and he’s played some under 23s. Been brought in from the cold by the new guy and given a chance.

I thought their manager did a good job and the players largely stuck to the plan. Would have been interesting if we had kept 11 on the pitch until the end given that we got one back anyway.

Tons of players behind the ball and very good at getting the ball back off Hernadez and Clarke in particular in packs!

Bielsa never sets up or adjusts to draw a game, it’s all about winning. The plus of that approach is we have won a lot of games, through that extra push.

Charlie Adam? No thanks.

Talking to my friend and neighbour who was talking to Charlie Adam in the players lounge after the game, Charlie said that we are a good side, but too soft! He was giving a few digs here and there and got the better of us in the middle!

I didn’t mean we SHOULD sign him, but like Spanish says, he was given a chance by their new gaffer, and credit where it’s due, played a great game against us. That’s all.

20 Jan 2019 21:35:51
we are short on players team picks itself and playing attacking midfielder come winger at left back.

I think your right . We need to really improve squad whilst we are at the top . It’s surely a good time to attract some decent players . It’s worth the risk spending the money and give bielsa the tools . I think we have brought in a good keeper, I’d like to see 2 midfielders to put some pressure on klich and foreshaw who I feel have dropped a level . Also a wide player.

My fear is that this investigation will drag on until the end of the transfer window in the hope that no one will risk joining us with the sword of Damocles hanging over us.
We are Leeds. MoT.

Downing's too old, not quick enough for Bub, dunno about the other one, Dan James is the favourite, according to reports.

Woke up in a cold sweat this morning . What a horrific nightmare I had .
Leeds drop out of top 2 and end up playing derby in the play off final and we lose . Derby, far frank and the whole EFL will have the greatest laugh they've ever had . Oh my days please no.

I have been a long time reader of this site and enjoyed the banter and work put in by the Ed's and thought I better join in and introduce myself . though not very good with the tinternet. ( Silver surfer) , started watching United when John Charles was a lad, if only we had him now!
Like many people . getting bored with Spygate and all the hypocrisy from so called experts and press, it's ok for them to look over the fence but not us, although not at all surprised, it's always been US against the world.
What a breath of fresh air Marcelo Bielsa is for the club and hope he can recreate the football played against Derby for the rest of the season, don't think I have seen football as good as that before in the Championship.
On a different note I miss the banter of Mad Mick and Speedie etc hope they are still cheering on loudly.

Welcome Spyticus. We're mostly old farts on here, so you should fit right in. As you will have noticed from the last sentence of Danum's post, probably for best that we have less from the younger end. Kids today, right fair. What do they teach em at school I ask?

Welcome Spyticus. I was born late 60’s so missed the great legend John Charles. I have great memories of plauers we had like carl harris, tony currie etc. Currie was amazing and could land a football on a sixpence. Also great memories as a teenager watching very young scott sellars, tommy wright, john sheridan etc. I thought they were amazing young players. But I always remember Ian Baird rattling the fencing jumping up at us in the kop when he scored at elland road. We have had great times since then under Wilko and Oleary but they seem a very long tome ago. Now as you say we are watching some exciting and fantastic football under Biesla. Truly amazing what he has done so far. let's get rid of the spy business now and get back to finishing off what excellence he has provided us with already. winning footy matches and onto the premier league. In marcelo we trust. MOT.

My first game 1952, Manager Frank Buckley, players I can remember Charles, Hair, Marsden, Dunn, Kerfoot, Nightingale, Brooks and a young Charlton. Jumpers for goal posts.

Love the post Phil.
My first game as a 14 year old travelling up from London was the last 16 FA cup against QPR. Arrived 5 or so minutes late after trying to drag my old man out of the boozer and heard an almighty roar walking up the steps. Sat down thinking we might have scored and asked the fella next to me what was the score and basically he said “look at the scoreboard you cockney w**ker” as he pointed to the board.
What a day it was. Baird and Ormsby right at the death to win it. After that day I was totally hooked. I absolutely love the club!

My first game was in 62 v Sunderland, 1-0 win thanks to Bremner. Charles was back with us then and Hair was still there with big Jack Willie Bell, Goodwin, Johanneson, Storrie, Collins and i think Younger was in goal. Only 17,000 at match because they had put the price up to 7s6d to pay for Charles. A certain Mr Clough was a Sunderland player back then. My next game was Bury and 28,000 saw that one as they had put the price back down again after Harry Reynolds had realised you can't fleece Yorkshire folk. Bremner scored again but we lost that one 2-1.

I missed John Charles first time round but caught when he came back. I can't remember my first game but I remember clearly Bobby Collins being signed so I guess 59/ 60 was my first season (with my dad) and luckily the emergence of all the kids.

Still musing over the competitiveness and thus entertainment value of the Championship. A minute ago were unbeaten in six, a few seconds later and we have lost three out of last four. Funny ole world.

Not wishing to dwell on the non event that’s now called Spygate 😂
I wonder had we signed fat frank back in O’Leary’s day if he’d be so vocal against us now. But then again rio couldn’t resist having a go. So prob not.

Some great posts on here. Feel lucky to post on here. I predicted 2-0 to us, but I had a sneaky feeling we would lose. MB needs to reset the crew and himself. Spy Gate is an issue and we need clarity and quick. Just give us the punishment and move on.

Have to say this years Championship battle has got it all! Some incredible high scoring games, lots of late point changing goals and a fluid top 6 and top 2. Oh yes and some pretty good and exciting football. A top quality league!

I think today's top 6 will be same at the end of the season, although hopefully 'ull will change places with Fat Frank Lampard's Dirty County. I'll be more than a little happy should the top 2 stay the same :) let's win this league, even if it's just to shut that woman beating half-man collymore up, he's asking what's so special about Bub now!

I had Hull to finish in top six at beginning of season and still think they can do it, be nice if its at Derbys cost.

20 Jan 2019 14:00:19
So did any body see wolves Leicester yesterday?
We are way off that level.
Need to up our game.
Norwich. Brom and hull and maybe villa will all be there or there about.
We need to spend. 3 quality signings. 22 mill maybe.
It’s not over yet. And I can see Pontus 5 match and spygate 5 points.
Get it sorted radz.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jan 2019 14:26:02
Aus, why would we be at their level?
They're upper mid table premier league standard.
If we go up then there will be money available to get to that level.
It's like when people say Celtic would struggle in the Premier league, yes they would with their present team, but give them 3 or 4 seasons of Premier league money and with their fan base, they would be right up there.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Jan 2019 14:32:24
How much wolves spent since promotion Danum?

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jan 2019 15:18:41
Don't know Aus. They signed 16 players in the summer and only four were on loan. So I think they probably spent a few dollars. 😉.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jan 2019 15:25:50
Only £50 - 60M aus.

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jan 2019 11:01:00
And Fulham spent £100M, not done them much good.
