Use our rumours form to send us leeds transfer rumours.

Lorimer said tonight at the Grand Theatre that he thinks Snodgrass and McCormack are on their way, can anyone else back me up that went?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Don't mind either leaving provided we get a good fee for both. Am thinking 5.5M Snodgrass, 2M McCormack. If we were to spend that money wisely we could have a very competitive team in the Championship next season. Until Bates changes his ways (doubtful) we have to wheel and deal our way back into the Premiership.

Agree1 Disagree1

Yes I was there and what he did say was 'I'm a little bit nervous because both Snodgrass and McCormack both havn't signed yet and I would have expected them to have committed by now. I'm hearing that they may want to go which is disappointing'

David Hoilett he could go on the left or right side in rw/lw/rm/lm sell some player get his wage i no it is a lot but he has pace and he is free transfer

Believable0 Unbelievable8

Think before you type! not every player who is free will sign for Leeds! especially if they have options from higher leagues here and abroad! i despair at some people on here.

Agree6 Disagree0

Pathetic post. Not just premier league but top clubs are looking at him. Considering that he will be off for minor compensation he is looking at around 60 000 a week. No chance in hell

Agree2 Disagree0

Stupid rumour, he is also called Junior Hoilett

Agree2 Disagree1

His proper name is David tbf to the original poster but i think he'd rather sign for Bayern Munich/Tottenham than Leeds ha

Jermaine Beckford close to done deal will be announced before Neil Warnocks holiday on 25th May. Price in region of 1.5-2.5 million.

Believable3 Unbelievable7

Not a chance...

Agree2 Disagree0

Bates would not pay something like that for him, not after he decided to leave on a free, use your head mate

Agree2 Disagree0

Beckford aint worth more than a mill, missed more than he scored will sturggle in this league as he did at lesicter otherwise he wouldnt of been replaced by some non league player

Agree1 Disagree0

BECKFORD: Blew us out for the big bucks and Prem and realised that WE ALONE treasured him. He can take a Taxi unless he comes on reduced wage, min price and DELIVERS ! 'He's just an ex girlfriend who ran off for a better bloke' WE DONT FORGET AND NEITHER SHOULD YOU

Agree0 Disagree0

im hearing a lot bout the possibility of beckford coming back i for one think we should move on for a more hungrier striker beckford was way to lazy for me never tracked back!
he needed loads of chances to score just too laid back in my eyes. though he did score some cracking and important goals he was prolific in league 1 only! he forgot that we made him who he is coming from wealdstone or whatever and goes to everton who are not as big as leeds even though they're in the PL who cares they were fighting relegation every season when leeds were in top flight he should of stayed with us for another season at least! all that said there's surely some decent striker out there i'd like someone unknown to us all just for the buzz hopefully another yeboah out there that will play for peanuts just wonderin too who are the leeds scouts? are they the same scouts when SG were at leeds or apart of NW team? irish leeds fan

Believable6 Unbelievable7

Plus kb said on yorkshire radio that he was offered jb twice last season but said no. Once kb is against a player forget it

Agree4 Disagree1

There's always someone ready to have a pop at Beckford. The guy did fantastically well for us, leave him alone. I for one would be well pleased to see him back. You seem to have forgot he also scored goals in the Premiership but didn't get many chances.

And I'm sick of this rubbish that he needed loads of chances to score. There is no such thing as a striker who doesn't miss chances.

Agree3 Disagree2

Did KB say no because Grayson had over spent though.....he has no say in player purchases as he's said plenty of times before. Warnock is freeing up budget by letting people go so my guess is if he wants him and we have the budget, we'll go for him......the big if is whether Warnock wants him though

al1977

Agree0 Disagree0

I believe that most teams can afford for one player to be 'lazy' IF you know they have the potential to explode and grab you the all important goals that you need. Beckfor may not have worked his socks off game in game out BUT without his goals Leeds would still be a League 1 team. He was VITAL to our cause back then. He deserved his big move to everton where he did OK at best and is only at Leicester cos they throw money around stupidly without any results to show for their cash spending.
Michael Owen was never a hard worker, Berbatov was never a hard worker, Lineker was never a hard worker, Le Tissier was never a hard worker BUT all scored goals for fun. As long as you have 9 other players prepared to work hard you can afford that one luxury that has the ability to light up a match at any given second. I would have him back in a heartbeat. Since he left we have had nobody who can explode like he does and lift the crowd.

Agree2 Disagree0

No one seems to bother he sold us down the river for his own financial gain! and a season in the premier league where he flopped, he was good for us and would still be an asset but i would prefer new blood who hadn't cost the club millions to line his own pockets! o.w

Agree3 Disagree3

Beckford did not flop in the PL- 10 goals in one season, when he didn't feature in half the games is not a flop by anyones standards. He was only sold because Everton were desperate for the cash at that time and he was probably the most saleable asset. If you consider him a flop then I would like a team of 11 "flops"

this year we need to stay together it might be tough but if we believe it might happen . we have been through it all . i would rather have a team that wants to play for leeds and play for the shirt instead of money motivated if they want that go join leicester warnock will get that team spirit and will fight for leeds , jason pearce perfect example , young ambitious , hard working , determined , had other offers but chose leeds

Believable7 Unbelievable1

Yes you are right lets try and get over 30,000 this year in Elland road and people on lutv as well lets all be there for the them and march on ontogether

How about some news regarding players in on LUFC.com rather than, advertise your brand, bring ur dad for fathers day and lets have a ride at flamingo land. More like KB taking us for ride for the 4th close season in a row. This is the final week before NW goes off for his jollies and the forecast of 3 or 4 new faces by this time is doomed to customary failure by lack of support from the board yet again. Good job I'm not holding my breath, I'd be dead!

Believable3 Unbelievable3

It's very possible that we have signed 2-3 more but they cnt be announced until 1st July due to existing contracts.

It's still very early I don't know what people expect to happen within 2-3 weeks of season ending.

ADW

Agree3 Disagree0

The season has only just finishe for gods sake!! Will people just relax a bit and have a bit of faith. If we've signed nobody by close of the transfer window then fair enough but keep in mind most players we might have an interest in are still in contract and have probably gone on holiday, us things don't happen overnight and other club will no doubt want to talk to them if they are as good as we hope.....players don't just sit waiting for someone from Leeds to call (despite what some people on here think!)

Agree2 Disagree0

I'm with the first poster. History tells us that the 3 or 4 signings we will make before NW goes on holiday/transfer window shuts etc, never happen. I'm not holding my breath either. However I do appreciate the other posts about deals been done and can't be announced until certain dates. JD

Agree0 Disagree1

Who needs flamingo land on fathers day it is all about Selby fun day

Before the start of the 11/12 season, we were all very disappointed in the lack of investment in the squad (what the reason for that lack of investment was im not sure), but grayson got us to 7th in the league, with a cheap squad, and few new signing. just imagine what warnock can do with a squad that has been invested in!MOT

LJHS

Believable4 Unbelievable2

If he gets the investment required, which lets be honest , would be more than we have spent in the last 6 yrs combined

Agree3 Disagree0

The signings are coming in thick and fast aren't they. Like that's em, er , ONE so far !!

Agree1 Disagree4

I admire your optimism and hope you are right and admittedly it's early days but I for one are not convinced as to how much investment there will be.

Agree3 Disagree4

ONE more than most clubs! the season isn't even over yet!

Original poster here. last reply guy, that has nothing to do with my post

Do people still realise that we are still in May? next season starts in August, thats 3 months for us to sign players, yet some of us are crying that weve not rebuilt the squad yet, its not footy manager, you cant sign a whole team over the course of a couple of weeks, yeah itd be nice if we could, but weve gotta be patient, get behind NW instead of moaning about lack of signings a couple of weeks after weve just finished the previous season, some of you make it sound like were about to start the season tomorrow

Believable8 Unbelievable3

Try telling that to the other clubs buying or asking about players.

Agree1 Disagree5

I totally agree with this post was actually going to post something similiar this morning but you saved me the job cheers!

Agree5 Disagree1

Leeds fans wouldn't moan if they weren't fed garbage all the time ,what was it 2 signings this week ,erm still waiting ! That's what we're sick of .

Agree4 Disagree4

But then it'll be the clubs being held to ransom by some players and there agents, or they couldnt agree anythign in time, like the end of every transfer window. So pardon us for wanting to know ehere we stand before preseason etc we get the same pattern every transfer window thats why so many of us were hoping NW would bring the players in early! Mac

Agree2 Disagree2

What other clubs are actually buying at the moment other than leicester have made a 1 million signing for a non professional, and glad we don't take them gambles

Agree2 Disagree0

Yes you are correct the new season starts in August but don't we want the players in for pre season (July if i'm not mistaken) bearing in mind the number of new 1st team players we need and to give them an opportunity to play as a team. Just a thought!

Agree3 Disagree1

Grow up you impatient kids and wait for Warnock to do his stuff! Honestly, is this site infested with sulky, spotty teenagers or what?

Agree3 Disagree0

What's the big rush to sign players? Man Utd apparantley need a number of players- Arsenal need players in a number of positions but I dont see them signing half a dozen players a week as some people seem to want us to do. lets wait and see what the manager does- that's what he's paid for.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2012 16:17:54

Still no one interested in barn door bekford,, hurry up Collin n sign him before he begins to start to like us

Believable5 Unbelievable3

"Barn door" Beckford? What?

Agree4 Disagree1

Barn door usually refers to someone who cant finish e.g. heskey. not someone who is renowned for nothing but pace and finishing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Finishing in League One, hes not done a right lot since he left us, Nugent outscored him at Leicester what does that tell you about Beckfords 'ability'

Agree0 Disagree0

20 May 2012 15:11:29
Will be at least 2 signings this week mark my words and c'mon everyone have a bit of faith hard I know but at the end we are Leeds and we follow are team forever and ever

The jyg

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Are these the same 2 signings Warnock said we would get last week?

Agree2 Disagree1

20 May 2012 14:03:59
I remember NW saying that he wants our squad/new signings to be in by pre season so they can start gelling together as a team. Pre season starts in July am i right? I highly doubt warnock can build a whole team in 6 weeks.'2 or 3' by the end of the first week of may he said. we currently have 1. I have faith that he will bring in the right players before the window shuts, but business needs to be much quicker than it is at the moment!

Believable5 Unbelievable6

Season doesnt start for 3 months, plenty of time

Agree2 Disagree2

I do hope they come in early, toherwise any poor start to the seasonw ill be balmed on the players having little time to gel ie SG so lets break that trend shall we for once, but then Ken isnt prepared to pay for their wages until the start of the season so you can see whos causing the delay here!

Amazes me how so many people throw all these big names into the pot saying we will sign them...
Leeds pay low wages and not much upfront for players so i would say you should lower your expectations......
Ward will go to Blackpool because his wages will be higher...No chance on Beckford due to wages again....Get real with your predictions.

Believable6 Unbelievable6

Blackpool will not be paying high wages any more.

Agree4 Disagree0

Why on earth would blackpool pay higher wages than us? they are a good football team, but the club doesnt have a great deal of money.

LJHS

Agree2 Disagree1

Because everybody pays more than us...lol

Agree2 Disagree2

Lol thats true, we could be the richest club and Bates would still tell us we need to be careful or else we'll do a 'Risdale' its just any excuses r churned out simply to penny pinch thats why all those hoping for big signing are living in a world where KB doesn't exist lol

can someone please tell why NW is being referred to as colin? {Ed013's Note - Scramble the letters in his full name and see what you get!}

Like an anagram you mean oh rite cheers Ed!

Neil warnock is an anagram of Colin W***er

Do you think we'll sign Halford and Ward by the end of the week i think we've got a better chance now that B'Pool are staying down. Theres big rumours that were getting them both for £1.75 million?? responses... {Ed013's Note - That's too much money for them both}

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Thats way too much cash, 800k max or walk away and just try and take Ward. Don't set a precident of being held to ransom by clubs, but in future get em closed out quicker.
A squad of defenders of White, Ward, Lees,Pearce,Halford and Mills (on a season long loan) should not be unrealistic and should enable us to compete.

Agree4 Disagree0

Ward will still go to Blackpool for more wage...

Agree4 Disagree5

White will go

Agree3 Disagree2

20 May 2012 12:17:03
If beckfords coming to Leeds his wages would cost us if he wants 30 k a week that would cost us 1.56 mil a year or 15k like we can't seem to afford 780k a year so will need to sell a few for his wages

Believable2 Unbelievable1

You can only pay 20k p/w max next season thanks to financial fair play rules

Agree3 Disagree4

Not true as I understand 2 players can earn more than the 20k the rest need to be 20k or below

Agree6 Disagree1

But you can have 2 players earning more than 20k a week

Agree3 Disagree1

Leeds wont pay over 10k a week for anybody. {Ed013's Note - Michael Brown is already on 15K!}

Agree0 Disagree5

Michael Brown isn't on anything after June Ed - he's out of contract and has been offered a much lower contract for next year which he's pretty much said he won't be taking. {Ed013's Note - I know mate, just think how much money we wasted on a 15k a week contract for a whole season!}

Agree6 Disagree1

You can only pay 20k p/w max next season thanks to financial fair play rules
Im glad this has come in, it'll stop all these lower league footballers and there agents from thinking their Messi lol

Thats Depressing Ed :( lol

Last year west ham, Ipswich,Leicester had great financial backing. This year the relegated teams have no backing. Leicester spent over 20 mil for players they are now trying to get rid. Colin needs to be patient and scout players properly. Snoddy was nobody with a promise when we got him and we developed him. Ross was losing his way at Cardiff, howson lost his desire an Clayton was a freebie from City. There is a lot of talent out there with not much pull of Leeds stature. Patience please. I know we love to hate Bates but if you put in balance what he has done while here we ought to be content(not happy but content). Just talk to Pompey, Rangers, etc. Colin is no mug. I never saw a poor warnock side

I agree, but his names Neil!

Serious question, I'm not anti bates or anything but does anybody genuinely know or have a clue how much money Leeds have to spend and where the transfer money for Delph,gradel,kasper and howson etc has gone? It's obvious it not gone on wages as all of our top players have left due to mostly wages and it doesn't look like that's going to stop anytime soon, I really understand that we are a de bt free club now I work to a budget but surely a club our size should be able to afford the talent of players we have lost and are still going to lose, can we honestly not push the budget slightly higher instead of sticking with the league 1 budget? The talent of players we have lost is just gutting kasper,howson,Kilkenny,beckford,gradel,Delph,Johnson,clayton and Ross snoddy and White are next,I don't expect the club to pay 40k for these players but a bit more of a wage rise and these players could of stayed, imaging if we had this squad with Neil adding a few players like Pearce to it then it would be amazing and would be in a brilliant position to get promoted, so where has all the money gone? How are we not making good money when their are no debts to pay or large wages? The club must receive alot more than other clubs in tickets sales for the higher attendancies we get and higher ticket prices. Like I say I'm not being anti bates, Id just like to know where all the money goes and why we can't pay that little extra in fees and wages? Does anyone have any serious answers? Inc Ed {Ed013's Note - Have a look at your other comment I replied to mate at the 21.04:44 post}

Believable4 Unbelievable1

The money has gone into Bates's projects. The Pavilion, Howard's Restaurant, Yorkshire Radio, the East Stand corporate facilities etc. That's why there is no money for players. Yorkshire Radio alone made a 1.5 million loss - all cash that could have gone into the team. A few people on here seem to be swallowing the Bates propaganda that this is good business but it isn't. The ground is half empty and won't be full again until we're in the Prem. Why add to it right now?

Good players will get us into the premiership - corporate facilities, restaurants, casinos and radio stations won't.

The loan for the East Stand was secured against season ticket sales for 2 years. That means WE'RE paying for the East Stand redevelopment. That fact was deliberately hidden from us until after the season ticket renewal deadline.

That's why so many of us are Anti-Bates. The lies, deliberate obfuscations of the truth until forced into admissions, the libel cases due to his indulgent, reckless programme notes (again paid for by us as Harvey was forced into admitting in court last month.)

I'll be supporting Warnock but will continue to be anti-Bates until he's gone. Sadly it's not going to happen soon.

Agree5 Disagree1

The moneys gone anywhere but the team!!

this is abit away from the subject, but any idea when the new away kit is coming out? {Ed013's Note - I think the black kit is staying although I am unsure if there will be a third choice. I'm sure there will as its a money making game!}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Black kit definitely staying till end of next season

Agree6 Disagree0

Didn't they say that about the blue kit though? and that just became the third choice kit so i'd expect a new away kit

Agree4 Disagree0

The black one is a 11/13 kit. the blue kit was a 10/12 kit. it may be that our black kit becomes a 3rd choice kit(like the blue one) and a new 2nd kit may come about

Agree4 Disagree0

Black away becomes our third and I would assume a new 'Blue' away shirt will be out at the beginning of the season
