Well I for one am as excited as ever. We have a new regime with football people in charge. It looks like Salerno will be coming and he could be the signing of the summer. Hockaday was a surprise but we needed to try something different. I think there will be some interesting signings including Italians, again a good thing, we certainly could have done with some passion last season. The new kit looks good if the preview I have seen is accurate (mainly white with a blue stripe down each side) and we should have Elland Road back by christmas so what's not to look forward to?

As I've said before, I will support whoever is in charge of the team until performances & results say otherwise. It seems to me that for all the negative comments Hockaday is going to want to prove a hell of a lot of people wrong. Could be just what we need so let's give him our FULL support. MOT

Well said Degsy ;)

the bloke might want to prove people wrong,so what doesn't alter anything.ive been going since 75 and aren't going to stop going because of this ridiculous embarassing appointment, but fact is just that, I haven't spoke to anybody who isn't peed off about it.hes nearly 60 ffs and done nothing.

age has nothing to do with it , if he gets us promoted you going to whine about his age , and the only embarrassment are the fans crying about the appointment

get a grip he's nearly 60 and been signing on for last 9 months after his stint at forest green, bet he thought it was a wind up when told he got job.but ya never know with his reeducation morrison n hunt will get 60 goals before xmas take the blinkers off it is a pathetic appointment.

Ponte
We've had SO called managers that have apparently done it over the last decade and all they have done is cost the club millions, get your head out of the sand and support whoever try's to take us forward :)

Agree0 Disagree0

They were obviously hampered by papa smurf pal, my heads not in sand just because I see this appointment for what it is, a joke.not postng again on the subject of this bufoon.

Agree0 Disagree0

They must have been hampered before and after PAPPA SMURF too eh?

i know we have had years of sh**t and I can understand a certain amount of trepidation about the new regime, but let's go with it and give everyone a chance. cellino is going to purchase the stadium there will be new players, some of them bought with real money, we only had one serious buyer and he has needed deep pockets already ffs.this could be the start of the long climb back to the big time.our previous owners and capt smurf would have sold mcormack for half what has been offered and the money would never have been seen again.so come on you mighty whites with a touch of italian flair.no more crap goundhog days, let's try a hockaday

Rooney says to hodgson, boss boss I don't know whether I'm best on the left, right or down the middle?
Roy says ffs Wazza just sit down and let the plane take off :)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yeah back home unfortunately andy! But I don't think Roy would say that his response would be " where would you like to sit?" "In the middle boss" "raheem shift yourself your on the widow seat!"

Rooney 3 world cups and done naff all I feel sorry for the lads that seemingly were not good enough ;(

Is anyone concerned, as I am about the future of Gibbs, Redfearn, Bromby, Sullivan and Naylor, now that we have Cellino, Salerno, Carbone and Hockaday, they are all good coaches who love, and have worked hard for Leeds United, and I just feel they will be edged out

Believable0 Unbelievable0

21 Jun 2014 18:04:27
no if they were any good we would be top of the league

Agree0 Disagree0

Cellino likes Gibbs so I would imagine he would stay. Don't know about the rest

Agree0 Disagree0

21 Jun 2014 22:35:58
Personally I think he is hanging on to Gibbs because he knows sooner or later McD will get another job and will want Gibbs with him. Compensation will then be demanded, probably about £400,000.

Jbm I called him a cheapskate because his real choice was Dolan at Reading but wouldn't back his 1st choice by negotiating to get him so he's gone for his 2nd option. If as he says he goes on gut instinct he'd have got the real man he wanted & not the cheap option.
if I or you or anyone else has a boss whom they have no belief in or feels that person is not up to the job but were told it's him or the door you'd look out for your family & income & put up with it but you or I would be unhappy to do so. In my opinion unhappy workers make for poor results & poor team results. It's easy to say get on with it but in reality it doesn't work like yhat and even more so in football.
I think some of the things MC has done have been remarkable but on this one thing I believe he's not been honest with himself, he didn't back his true instict because of money. As I said before if you want quality you don't employ a man who's career never reached any pinacle & has clearly been trusted with similar positions & failed miserably. We will have no idea how many other coaches he's walked away from because of money but I'm sure in time we'll find out

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Slough
I'm not saying your wrong, I'm away on hols and on limited time to follow all the shinanigans who said he wouldn't sign Dolan because of money?

Agree0 Disagree0

He is not backing his first choice because it's not good business. With his track record of a coach every year then he would have paid £400,000 to buy him out of his contract, his wages and signing fees, everyone he would want to bring to catch with him and then when he sacks him he would have to pay compensation to him and the staff he bought with him. He's making decisions that are financially viable and that we can afford. Financial fair play rules to consider

You know, I'm excited MC is slowly giving us our club back. I can't wait to see the youngsters give us a chance, a new, hungry, fighting breed. The emmergence of a young David Batty days, isn't it? Marvellous or O'Leary's babes - come on Leeds!

How about give it all a chance? Let everyone judge, only after results. Talk about slaughtered before he enters the arena. I raised an eyebrow, but I am always willing to give people time to prove themselves at whatever they do. As for the 'pathetic little FGR man' comment. Some fan you are

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ere ere Vin, my eyebrows flew off lol
Give the guy a bit of respect and a chance plz

Any body more to add?

Don't get me wrong I love Ross but let's be honest, if the cartoon army are willing to pay in excess of 8/9 million I'd snap their hands off. Yes he's very good at this level but premier league he isn't! Doesn't have the pace or 1st touch, if he does go then 8/9 mill would bring us in 3/4 very good players at this level.

21 Jun 2014 15:03:36
Hasn't got the first touch?? R you for real mate? give Ye self a day off .

Agree0 Disagree0

If he wants to go. Sell him. Seems to me anybody. Fans and players. Not willing to give new regime a go. Bye bye. Pathetic being so bloody negative.

Agree0 Disagree0

Malaga
Totally agree, I said before he's NOT premiership standard.
He might get a couple of goals and he might not then he'd be another Bechhio ;(

21 Jun 2014 20:54:19
Ross has great first touch. He's international class. Just lacking half yard of pace to make him 15 goals season at premier league level. He'd get 10 goals a season at that level and probably lay on many assists.

Can we get off Hockadays back and just watch what he does - if he proves to be no good attack him then. let's see what he can do and who him and MC bring in.

Everyone deserves a chance - I am not keen or impressed but will wait for results before jumping on the bandwagon to slate him.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree, we had big names and they never perform. Maybe someone who is given a chance to become big and have one last chance would put more in.

He has Leeds on his top so I will back him till he gives me reason to doubt him.

MOT whoever is in charge

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree also mate not overly enthused with the appointment but at the end of the day he is Leeds United head coach and will get my support and we atleast need to give the bloke a chance it's not his fault he was chosen because he is cheapest option available. MOT

I think Hockaday is a brave but good appointment at Leeds. In the past we have had well known coaches who have promised the world but delivered nothing and I think hockaday has something to prove and will be a success at Leeds the crowd just need to give him a chance to prove he can do it. we can't do much worse than what we have had in the past 5 years and hockaday has a great work ethic and he will not take any passengers and I think that's why MC likes him because he's very similar that's the reason why he got the job

You can talk all you want about the arse kissin Hockaday but quite honestly if I were a pro footballer & had no belief in my boss I'd lose heart, either not put it all in or look for a way out. Also as a youngster looking with choices of clubs this would turn me away. This is a dreadful appointment & one I believe will cause unrest throughout lufc. Gibbs who knows him, Redders & many of the players will see that if this is the extent of Cellinos ambition they'll be gone.In any walk of life leaders have earned respect or have certain qualities which make them credible. This man has nothing & Cellino is making novice mistakes by even listening to this bloke who clearly talks a good game. Some positions on your staff are worth paying more for & I'd say head coach is exactly that. Cheapskate cellino. Pay peanuts get monkeys

21 Jun 2014 12:49:16
Sorry Slough I'd have to completely disagree with you there if a professional footballer no had belief in their boss and lost heart is that the kind of player we want at our club?

This is the time when players should stand and up and be counted they have absolutely nothing to lose if things go pear shaped everyone is going to blame the man in charge and if everything goes well the players will look great and only enhance their reputation.

I don't understand how you can call Cellino a cheapskate he's given Hockaday a two year contract and I'm sure he'd have no trouble in sacking him a couple of months in if he felt things weren't working out which would mean he'd have to pay him and most likely his backroom staff off and then hire new staff and pay their wages.

Whatever you want to say about Cellino the one thing he can't be called is cheap he just does what he believes is best for business.

I wonder how much we have had to pay in compensation to all of our top managers! This appointment is a wise one. Cellino is making leeds profitable and you say a cheapskate! He has proven he can run a good club on a little budget with Cagliari, give the man time to sort the mess out left by the idiots before him, just remember one is in prison at the moment for fraud! He is doing a good job, Rome wasn't built in a day!

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree totally. Just hope we get proved wrong. MOT.

Just watched the interview with Massimo and hockaday and got to say as some have said that if words turn into actions then it could be better than we thought. Hockaday I thought spoke really well seemed confident and relaxed which can only be a good thing. And it's also nice wether people believe him or not to have an honest owner, he's paid off plenty of debt so far but playing wise and ground wise I know he's not done anything yet but I just get the feeling he has leeds at heart already. I doubt there is many people who would go thru all the crap he has doneto get this club and still be smiling, don't get me wrong it could all go tits up early but at least we know Massimo isn't afraid to change it and admit he made a mistake.
Ps did seem rather smarmy that hockaday kept calling Massimo "president" or was that just me
