So Kyle Bartley came on as substitute to captain his team at Old Turdford today. But you can just tell he was wishing he was Elland Road instead. Not

{Ed001's Note - erm Speedy, Man City play at the Etihad mate. Even if he had been facing Man Utd, they were at Wembley today. You really are a little lost without Berm around as much aren't you? The pain is getting to you now. Should I get the Samaritans number for you?}

22 Apr 2018 18:21:18
I have it on speed dial thanks. But I got the right city innit. Stop nit picking

{Ed001's Note - I can't help being a pedant mate. It is my only pleasure in life, don't take it away from me!}

And wasn't it yesterday they were at Wembley? Touche šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Hi GIW, I've been reliably informed that they are having an old skool reunion wedding. They're having it on Cellinio's yacht and Jeff is going to do the ceremony.

I seriously would not believe any transfer talk we are seeing on social media or in the dross news papers etc. I firmly believe we will recruit better this summer simply because even stevie wonder could see this lot are not good enough! And let's see if the owner is true to his word of doing it the wolves way. Also think He k will be gone after the first 6 games next season unless we have a strong start again.

After Radz's major rant about Wolves and letter to the FA has there been an official response and clarification of the issues raised? Radz seems quiet since then (a good thing imo! ) . I still believe if the board/management don't really know what they are doing then this hardly instills confidence/respect down the line.

Personally LS11, Iā€™d love to see us blood the young guns . Clearly there is some talent in the ranks a few proven quality championship or premiership players ( loans if needed ) Iā€™ve felt for a long time that the pressure of expectancy and the fan base at Elland Road seems to weigh more against our own players than most away sides, as much as the right playing ability it getting the right personalities . And that is not going to be easy too achieve.

Yes blood the young uns then get ready to sell em. Ballace Ortas books.

As this season draws to an end us diehards are already starting to dream about next season and the promise of a top 6 finish, new players coming in, Max Gradel returning etc etc. What is concerning me is our player recruitment and the seemingly lack of communication between the first team set up and the U 23's. Point in fact is Tom Pearce, whose impact has been fantastic. He has good positional sense, defends well and wants the ball. Surely that was the case in January and if so why did we pay out good money on De Bock? O'Connor and Peacock-Farrell too have fitted in seamlessly and in all honesty look as though they know what they are doing compared to the rest of them. All three of these young lads only got a chance as a last resort and that is worrying in itself. The manager and coaches should have been able to see their talent before and put them in the squad at least. We now have 3 first teamers by luck rather than design.

Powers to be are just winging it. A lot of these young lads coming through were already in our youth set up. But orta and radz will take the credit no doubt.

Top 6 Finnish. ? Should be top of the league anything less is not good enough, in my book,

There's an element of design as well as the luck, they're young and needed introducing to the first team set-up slowly. If they'd been thrown in earlier and had a bad game or two half of the posters here would have been calling for their heads . and blaming Orta for signing them, but, because they're good . it's nothing to do with Orta is it?

Agree0 Disagree1

22 Apr 2018 22:51:53
I would like to know the thinking AL behind the design that sticks three untried and untested lads into a side devoid of confidence and on a losing streak. My point is Orta is a ā€œfootball manā€ it is his JOB to recognise talented footballers and bring them to our club to improve it. De Bock hasnā€™t Pearce has.

Offs didn't sign a lot of them. fact!

Agree0 Disagree2

22 Apr 2018 09:37:03
The media and a few others have highlighted quite rightly the success our development squads are having. However i think credit is going to the wrong person in Orta. The majority of the squads are Cellino prodigies. Lads like Clarke, Dalby, Edmonson have been found by our local scouting network so i can't credit Orta with them either. Just watched some vids of u18s games and KunT looks the package but the stand out for me is Bobby Kamwa their top scorer who seems to be overlooked for praise. Edmonson a close third. U23s only Orta buy that stands out is Machuca, who should be around first team next season in my opinion. The polish goalie looks decent but no better than Huffer. So let's not get the young ones success out of proportion, Orta so far has unearthed two possibles for the future. A lot of his signings are noticeable by their absence. And we all know his success rate with first team signings.

Didn't we sign Dalby and Edmondson this season ?

Agree4 Disagree0

22 Apr 2018 10:35:10
Yes but i pointed out they would have come through our domestic networks that have been in place for decades so Orta can't take credit for them. Its our international scouting system that has new faces running them. Yes Orta is director of football and ultimately responsible for signings but i doubt he personally scouted these lads. What he brings in in the summer will show how committed he and radz are to getting us promoted or is it just about the money again.

Agree0 Disagree2

22 Apr 2018 10:51:30
I personally think it is the latter and would explain why Orta is not leaving as he is on a cushy number

Totally spot on BIGE, exactly what I had said in a previous reply. Most young ones now coming through were already in our youth system, not down to Orta or Radz.

22 Apr 2018 16:01:57
Bloody hell . please try not to give Orta any credit whatsoever eh?

Agree1 Disagree1

22 Apr 2018 16:08:14
Didn't Cellino run our former scouting networks down to almost nothing, and Orta has rebuilt them?

Agree2 Disagree2

22 Apr 2018 16:37:08
It was Bates who absolutely slaughtered our youth network to cut costs. Cellino partially invested in youth, while re opening certain development centres. The investment by Radz is well above what we have seen since theWilko and Ridsdale eras. BIGE is right, a lot of the talent now coming through at 18 and 23 level have been on the books a longtime, barring The recent signings.

22 Apr 2018 17:37:20
AL sure i gave Orta credit for KunT and Machuca. They still got to make it to first team though, but if they sell for 5mill each in a couple of years sure Radz will see that as job well done.

Youā€™re right Al Cellini sacked all the club scouts along with lots of other members of staff.

Reflecting on yesterday's performance, a win is a win and I am grateful for that, but there were two bad sides on show so it is obvious a major clear out is required from top to bottom. I must say chopping and changing Manager's isn't good, but I really find it difficult to believe Heckingbottom is the man for Leeds, if he stays I hope he proves me wrong. For me I would also like to see the back of Orta and Kinnear and the Club show some real ambition and make appointments that will give the fans some real hope for next season because the support has been amazing this season despite the dross we have been watching especially since Christmas.

3 wins this year is poor whatever spin you wish to put on things. Definitely not what we as Leeds fans were hoping for or expected this season. The fans have played their part this season by turning out in our masses to support the team and club. Management and poor players to blame for this season's failure.

Ah well, Hecky tells players to throw the game against his beloved Barnsley . Hecky out after losing that one . Oh wait
