Warnock has a fair few promotion to my none, and obvs he knows the players better than me, but i cant get my head around sending rodgers out, and using varney on the wing
Bainesyboy

Believable10 Unbelievable1

I think varny is better as a striker or forward i watched wolves game and he looked to slow on wing

Agree0 Disagree1

I posted twice on this site pre-season. First one stated that there was no take-over and that it was just a ploy by Papa Smurf to sell more season tickets. I got jumped on. The replies ranged from dismissive to downright abusive. Second one was near to the start of the season and highlighted the lack of quality that we had signed. The same response was forthcoming-'go support another club' and all that ! I said at the time that Warnock will never have encountered as sly an old fox as Papa Smurf before , so here's my next prediction. We will have a new Manager by Christmas .Warnock will not risk his reputation any further than that. Talk in January!!

Agree6 Disagree11

Don't want to come across as anti-Warnock but we should also remember that his relegations outnumber his promotions.

He's now quoted as saying our squad is too small at the same time as sending players out on loan. Isn't that a bit inconsistent?

The squad is pretty much the same size as it was a year ago yet his first comments on arriving were to pontificate about the 'over large squad'. He's starting to sound a bit headless chicken.

Still, the optimist in me says there's still time to get some players in.
ML

Agree4 Disagree3

It's is clearly stated and well documented that a take over is happening so why talk such rubbish. The deal is taking so long as there is a consortium of buyers to please plus papa smurf has Leeds united company split into many tax exile accounts so all that needs sorting plus eland road and thorpe arch is owned by separate companies so that take time to sort and it's all been done by third parties so takes ages.

Same as when you buy a house you need to get a mortgage sorted then get the surveyer in which takes time then wait for the results then get builders in for estimates then re negotiate the price.these things take time.

Plus the most important thing is we're dealing with papa smurf.

I think the deal will happen just before the transfer deadline get a few players in the spend rest of money in jan.

Think nw will get loan players in now hope we're around the play offs in jan then new players push us on.

Your all doom and gloom mate you know nothing but make out ou do.

This is a time of optimism not doom and gloom.everyone else is excited but not you.

We're in the best shape for years just a bit thin on the ground.

Agree4 Disagree4

"Your all doom and gloom mate you know nothing but make out ou do"

I take it you do know everything then?

It's a banter site - not everyone thinks the same - debate is healthy - get over it...
ML

Agree0 Disagree1

ML he doesnt make out he knows everything you seem to know more than Ken Bates and the brokers for the deal. As they seem to think there is a takeover yet you say there isnt one and also said that at the start of the summer? Well done you know the clubs business more than the owner and the prospective buyers and the brokers. Genious.

Agree0 Disagree0

Of course he doesn't know that stuff - just conjecture. Part of the fun of this site is trying to work out whether the people who claim to be in the know are just wind-up merchants or seriously deluded fantasists. If I want to know what was actually happening at the club this is the last place I'd look.
ML

I can actually see Norwich wanting to buy Peltier next summer you know haha

Believable7 Unbelievable4

Think Norwich will buy leeds united and eland road and move up here lol

Agree3 Disagree4

Yeah they was wrong its not a consortium from the middle east its a consortium of cooks make way for Deliah

Agree0 Disagree4

To whoever disagreed with my comment about it being a consortium of cooks make way for Deliah please explain why as it clearly was a joke and i dont know how you can disagree with a joke? swear people just sit on this site clicking things that dont have any common sense.

Rogers on loan at stevenage, IMO has a lot to offer and should of been pugh on his way out instead, but i bet he has managed to worm his way into Colins plans!

Believable5 Unbelievable3

To injury prone.if he was a good player he would have been snapped up by someone else but only first devision wanted to loan him says it all.

Looked good a couple of times but lost ball to easy.we can do better

Agree1 Disagree4

Cant say he is injury prone it was two games and two pretty serious injuries yes but that can just be put down to luck as well

I was routing for robbie rogers as much as the rest of us, and i know we need depth, but maybe he wasnt good enough, at least not right now. Everyone seems to think he's going to be a revelation when it's clear he's not made an impression as of yet

Believable6 Unbelievable4

23 Aug 2012 21:51:12
one word DEPRESSED!i paid out alot of my hard earned money on a season ticket i couldnt really afford.I feel like a mug i fell for the usual lies from our chairman and manager etc making it sound like we would hav a top notch squad for this season and now all of a sudden our own manager says we arnt g good enough as a squad and hav no money to spend.Wish id of known this before id stuoidly forked out 590 quid on a season ticket.Somebody try cheer me up with good times ahead?can anybody honestly think of any reason things could look up for Leeds United fans?It realy is ten years of hurt now and its becomin a joke and the dosnt seem to be a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.honestly fed up.

Believable11 Unbelievable3

Dont worry we have a few good signings varny blackpool wanted him beccio peltier and austin the beast looks good too they need to gel 9 new players in 1st team blackpool are good but we made it hard for them we will be better we smaash the posh

Agree4 Disagree3

Here is a reason things could look up for us, DONT LISTEN TO EVERYTHING WARNOCK SAYS IN THE PRESS! He is clever and good with mind games, he is saying all this more to ease the pressure as he knows if Leeds fans have high expectations and they disappoint for a game or two we all turn and moan like most of us did after the blackpool game with some fans saying were gonna get relegated which is just daft.

Agree6 Disagree4

Winning's great, losing's frustrating but just being there is the the real thrill. That's why I renewed my ticket - not because I expected us to go up.

this is a joke now our sqaud is depleted without letting more go out get a grip and sort it now before its too late other promotion contenders are strenthning there sqauds we are letting our go to save wages soon we will have a sqaud 15 we are already without green somma what if we get a few more injuries we will be f--cked. mocka mot

Believable7 Unbelievable2

Over a week left yet, plenty of time for either loans or signings if takeover goes through,Warnock wont leave us short,if were still light at close of window then start whining.

Agree2 Disagree0

He may have loaned out rodgers to free up some wages for a few sqad players on loan

Agree2 Disagree0

Rogers wages would barely fund one loan never mind a few. He aint on big wages. {Ed013's Note - I also believe we are paying so much towards them, so I think this deal is to give him game time and maybe pick up a club, but if he does well, then maybe a fresh start in Jan}

But....
If he's not gonna bring him on when 2-1 down away from home with 10 mins left what's the point in been on bench?
To then say front 4 were terrible then still not bring him on I don't get

Watching Hearts v Scousers, Templeton looks promising, good crosser of the ball, gets stuck in but a little impetuous at times but that is probably down to youth plus a decent coach could guide him in the right direction. My point is are Hearts keeping hold of him depending on the outcome of this cup-tie and then could look towards releasing him.

If the take over was to happen tomorrow, would Warnock not have kept rogers instead of sending him out on loan? The takeover isnt going to happen any time soon, its not going to cause leeds to rise to the top of the premiership, this is leed were talking about and we all know something will not go as it should and we will all end up disappointed

#MoT

Kersh91

Believable6 Unbelievable3

Or has he let him go out on loan because the takeover is almost done and knows he'll have money to get better? Always 2 sides mate and it doesn't always have to be negative

Want to know what my fellow whites fans think about this. Across the pennines, there's a player who has been messed around for years by old red nose, who would be hungry and have a point to prove. What better place to do it? I'm talking about Dimitar Berbatov. could be the "Strachan" signing we're all dreaming of. Top of my wishlist if this takeover materialises.

LOAN PLAYERS!

Love them or hate them?

Personally I don't like loan players most seem to be playing for themselves rather than the team

What do others supporters think?

Believable6 Unbelievable1

There playing for themselves but try harder as they want a first team start when they go back.

If QPR get Dawson and Carvaliho, then Clint Hill will be available for loan, sure NW would try his best to get him

Ed013's will this take over ever happen or do we wake up one day and stop dreaming {Ed013's Note - It needs to happen, I get the feeling that Ken Bates has taken the club as far as he can and with the backlash from the fans he will start losing money. He wanted to sell in the Premiership,but I think he realises that without a few million spent it won't happen so needs to get as much as he can now}

I think Ken Bates is letting the takeover go to slow so he dose not have to spend a penny on leeds united so Neil Warnock dose not leave because he think the takeover will be complete soon when it will fail

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Could it be he's ensuring they actually have money? if you look at what happened to Malaga, from some "arab businessman" splashing the cash, to selling half their squad in 12 months. don't want that.

Agree1 Disagree4

We have been selling the squad for the past 7yrs

Can i remind everyone that man city didnt get taken over til deadline day then signed robinho for 32.5 million. Obv we aint gonna spend all that but nevertheless we can still make one maybe two signings. Keep the faith.

Believable9 Unbelievable1

I have a feeling we are going to get one of two things:
* An investor who will take a stake in the club, SOME of this money will be used to buy players etc.
* A new owner who is not going to splash the cash but will invest in the squad.
I would be very surprised if NW would sign all these low budget players on 2-3 year contracts knowing a money bags is on the way plus the players themselves would have to think twice about signing knowing "robinho" is on the way.

Agree5 Disagree0

Good point pal

Agree3 Disagree0

The players we signed are all championship class cos that's where we are at the minute
We can't be expected to start doing a man city no matter who the owners are cos superstar players don't want to play div1 footy and trying to buy the title is harder than buying prem
Look at Leicester

I think we are in for a decent season. If Grayson was in charge for the entirity of last season, we would have finished just outside the play offs. Now we have warnock, a better all round squad (even if we do need a couple more faces) and better playing philosophy. Good signs that we will finish in the top 6. Personally I think we will surprise a few teams, and if we can make one or 2 cheeky signings, finish in the top 4.

Look its a new look team we will have set backs and we will have to accept this but lets wait till christmas see where we are, we do have a good manager who will get the best out of the players he has. Its no good thinking that were going to get taken over and have loads of money if it does happen then great but the reality at the moment its not and we have got to put up with what we got.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Personally I would like to see a couple of changes at the weekend that I think could free up some chances.

The people I was least impressed with against Blackpool were White and Varney, plus Byram could stand to rest a match.

Kenny
Peltier Lees Pearce Druary
Diouf Norris Austin Rodgers
McCormack Becchio

Bench: Ashdown, Byram, White, Pugh, Brown, Varney, Poleon

This would give us a chance also to see how Druary plays, having a experienced LB behind Rodgers should allow him creativity. Plus I want to see how Diouf can play from the off and give him the first 60 minutes.

I've also tweaked the bench, to get Poleon a chance at a run out. What do you guys think?

LUFC-Bob

Believable23 Unbelievable3

Guess I spoke too early, Rogers has gone on loan.

LUFC-Bob

Agree2 Disagree0

Could not agree with you more !!

Agree1 Disagree0

Personally that looks pretty much perfect for me but they have loaned out Rodgers now, wish he was given more of a chance for us could do a job for us must be better than white on the wing...

Agree1 Disagree0

I've never rated White and i don't like Rogers getting loaned out. Warnock says we're short and then he loans out a player who not long ago he said was looking good. He needs to pull his finger out for me, i've not been impressed with his management decisions of late.

Agree3 Disagree1

NW has made it very clear that to get anybody in, he has to let people go. He has done the first part with a couple now and now needs to do the second ie get faces in. I am sure he will.

Believable1 Unbelievable13

Funny that with warnock being dismissed for getting u up and kenny being surplus to requirements i think the stabbings came from somewhere close to home

deakko7

No the team did, they still are jealous bunch. Good luck

Agree0 Disagree1

Jealous cause not in prem? neither would you if it wasnt for them, how many clean sheets did Kenny keep on your promotion season? Also who masterminded that promotion campaign with an average side and in reality a pretty tight budget.. Also see Mark Hughes did such a brilliant job there haha?

Agree3 Disagree0

And you sir are jealous because as Kenny rightly said your just a fan of a 'tin pot club' how much did you get for the first game of your premiership campaign this year? less than 18000? we got 23-24000 and thats with it being on sky and that really is still poor considering for us.

Another Friday and not a glimpse of a takeover. I think a few more Fridays will pass before we hear anything positive if at all. If the deal was as good as people were making out ie. loads of money coming into the club, then it would have been all done and dusted by now. Sorry for being so negative but this is the club I love and as far as I can see whilst Bates is still at the helm then Leeds are going to struggle to progress. It sticks in my throat to see the likes of Swansea, Wigan and Fulham in the Premiership who would love the attendances we get at Elland Road even with our inflated prices. They have progressive Chairmen who put the gate money back into their clubs not into their own pockets or into a White Elephant Hotel. Most have spent money bringing in new players whereas the sum spent on our incoming players still does not add up to what we received for Snodgrass. I wouldn't blame any player for wanting to leave Leeds to play in the Premiership. I'm only hoping and praying that Neil Warnock with his experience can get the best out of the players we have and that we can gain promotion. Unlikely we will be spending any big money on players in this transfer window but maybe if the takeover happens before the end of the year then money will be available in January and we can invest in players who will give us the final push towards The Premiership.
However most important is we get three points at Peterborough tomorrow.
Rant over !
Love this Club. Hate Ken Bates

After reading time and again that little clown on the west spam weblog slateing us leeds off, its nice to see that they have only gone out and splashed 10mil on a winger (jarvis) that they think is that good that our own young academy product sam byram had him in his back pocket all game on Saturday! I think we will have the last laugh there thankyou! Ha ha ha ha ha ha......
S.T.W

Believable9 Unbelievable3

Hardly in his back pocket tbh BUT Sam did do well in the end after a fairly shaky start.

Question is, how do we compete when they are selling 2 players for £22 million? We need to be realistic in our expectation and i am hoping most of that cash is going to pay debts off rather than players.

Puts it into perspective, where we are at the moment.

Silly post - still it's the school holidays.

You cannot judge a player on one performance especially when they're unhappy with the way their club has treated them. In any case, he stood out as their best player by a mile - the only one who provided a threat at all.

Jarvis is a quality player. If I was looking for a winger and had 10m to spend he'd be on my shortlist.
ML

Agree2 Disagree2

New rules instated at the start of the season (along with the 20k wage cap for every club) - no club can spend more than £6m on one player in the championship. so its not like they will be spending that 22m straight back on players {Ed013's Note - The rules state that any profit made on player sales is the clubs to use on further transfers}

Agree2 Disagree1

Original poster here, I know jarvis is a good player and byram didnt exactly have him in his back pocket,, but he did ok for a young lad with not much experience, I only posted that to try get a responce from that west spam fan who is clearly a closet leeds fan, he can stop talking about us and he does my head in at times, I am sure even one of the eds had made an official complaint about the loon!?

It seems we all know what we need to make our team promotion chasing and not table. We will be given the run around by any team with pace and quality like blackpoll
It is not enough to be hard working and fight all game. It is much better being a threat in offense rather than gritty in defense. Are we sure Neil knows what we need? Has he really been linked with or stated he is looking for anybody with the type of quality blackpool have? I agree blackpool are a very good team and will be up there and good luck to them because they play good stuff, but there are a few other teams in the league with quality that we need to compete with too? Had Neil bitten
Off more than he can chew, I wonder?
Ausman

Believable4 Unbelievable10

No he knows what we need but stuggling to get funds for loan or buy at min.also as for blackpool phllips and ince will be gone soon so they will be in our situation..shrew leeds

Agree2 Disagree4

Blackpool have had a team that have played together for years and Leeds a few weeks. Blackpool have had there manager for years us 6 months plus they have money we don't so to different teams I agree we need pace and more top quality signings plus depth to go up but this team is a lot stronger then last years.

If we have a good run maybe top half

Agree4 Disagree1

Rather ridiculous how is NW managing a championship side more than he can chew? if its more than NW can chew to get us back to the prem it looks like we will never be back up there... also its better to be good in offence then defence? ok last season showed us just how well your opinion works out doesnt it a nice little 14 from being one of the biggest attacking threats in the league. I cant believe people are doubting NW after 2 games one he won against Wolves and other lost Blackpool away too very tough fixtures! Also we have signed players like Blackpools because we havent got the money you cant expect him to find someone as good as ince or phillips for like 50k can you..

Agree6 Disagree1

When we was offensive we was way better as teams had to score more than 2 to beat us . ok we usually had to score more than 2 to beat them too but most of the time we did . we was 3 points off playoffs while been offensive change of manager to redfern still close to playoffs change of manager to warnock tried to change style of play stopped scoring goals still leaked them in . i think we should of kept grayson and brought in warnock to work with him as joint manager for the full season . i think grayson will beat warnocks amount of promotions

Agree1 Disagree6

At this level its always good to have a bit of pace on the wings as it unsettles most fullbacks having to play against pace. Blackpool have that, Birmingham showed it against SWFC there left wing (his name escapes me) tormented the rightback whenever the ball came down that side, but also SWFC themselves had two pacy wingers who were causing problems in that game too. I'm sure this is something NW is looking at but as the poster above said there is only so much you can do with no money. May have to wait for the loan market and see who's available then
