I think Cellino is out of order. Maybe Byram would have signed on if the contract wasn't demanding a reduction in wage! I don't know many footballers that would sign a new contract for a lesser wage. Now Cellino going public is unprofessional.

Byram hasn't exactly put effort in this season which is also unprofessional just because he wants to move

Opta stat shows that Byram has created the most chances for Leeds this season. I wouldn't call that not putting in any effort.

Cellino, is the one in the wrong here, making this public. let's face facts no player would want his agent to negotiate a pay cut,any agent doing so would find himself sacked.Would anyone on here take a pay cut if your boss asked you?

lesser wage. you sure? also MC can not win. when this club was all cloak and dagger people moaned that fans kept in dark. now we have mr honest and out in the open people complain that Mc is being too honest and open. what can the poor man/savoiur do? SB has always been little overrated for me. get him to sign or make him rot. that is what all players who refuse to sign should happen. no other job would stand for it. and he ain't even played that well for a good year

Re SB,he doesn't have to take our offer and we don't have to pay him what he thinks he is worth. If we pay too much for 1 player then others will ask for more and we as a club get into trouble again, so I am happy we as a club take this stance.

We all knew SB was going anyway as it is his right to want prem football, just don't ask us to pay over the odds. I am not upset he has done well for us, we should sell in January but his stock is falling a bit as form not great this year so will be interesting who really comes in for him and at what price.

If MC invests the cash then I am fine with the whole thing, players move all the time it no biggie really.
Of course people will try and bring up stuff if SB gets dropped but there is a good chance of that if his form does not pick up when Will B comes and the Wiz gets up to speed. I'm sure people will say MC picks team if SB dropped but that is just lazy thinking, look at his current form and he is due to be dropped soon I think, nowt to do with contract failed talks.

The thing is dG, we didn't offer to pay him over the odds. Reports say his wage is in the 12k region, and we were asking him to take a pay cut. In reference to BW, I like it when he is open about stuff, but it is unprofessional to hang one of your players out to dry in public.

How do you think this will affect team morale? And as a player would you trust Cellino? I was a big Cellino supporter at first but I'm beginning to think he could be detrimental to our progression and the atmosphere of Leeds. It's very telling this outburst happens immediately after Pearson departs.

How hass he hung him out to dry. We all know byram has not signed his contract and wants to go to a bigger premier club for more money. The contract would have been same as his team mates. Pay cut? Maybe not with bonuss. Agreed cellino could be less dramatic in his interviews but he only stated what we all knew and now he has made it clear to all that byram is for sale get your offers in, hìghest bidder

Surely celllino is the one who brought this atmosphere back to elland road .Imagine if ghf was still in charge. He was the only one who put his money in and has spent over 7-10 million on players .We're never all going to agree with every decision he makes or what team selections uwe makes, but that's football.

Good posts. I think the point here is the agent ridiculed Leeds as a place being too small for Byram. Byram and his agent clearly have England ambitions (but not on current form Sam). It was this not money demands which provoked Cellino outburst.

Def looks like it's the agent who is the main problem here - and we know what MC thinks of agents. But as always, we will never know what's actually true. Just wish Sam would recover his form over the next 3 months, and then will wish him good luck

The rollercoaster pulls a few more g's, golly gosh. It has been pretty evident for a while in Sam's performances that something is not right with him. Massimo has now added Byram to the list of public floggings, McDermott and Redfearn being his predecessors. This is not right but the blame must lie with all parties, agent, Sam for pontificating and not making a clear statement, by just refusing to sign a new contract its pretty obvious he wants to run his contract down and get a better deal in the summer whilst giving us nothing. Massimo is reacting in the only way he knows. Just hope this does not unsettle and destabalise the team and Sam gives the team the best he has in the time he has left. Sadly I suspect this is going to rumble on and Leeds are going to suffer again

he wouldn't make my team at the moment anyway. get him to sign or let him rot in youth team work with dea gea. if he wants a move he needs to play, I would make it clear he needs to sign but give him a buy out clause so he knows he will still get his move. if he plays well enough that is. good thing is I really don't think the team need him (unlike with beckford where we was not able to drop him)

He wouldn't make my team at the omen either BM, the way he is playing but if all this speculation is affecting his game, El Presidento's latest 'hanging out to dry' won't have helped. Cellino has tried to turn the fans against him and in the mean time probably upset a fair few of Sam's team mates. Nice work Massimo, just when we thought you'd learned to control your ego, boom it's back and then some! Expect plenty more embarrassing quotes/rants now AP has jumped ship and Cellino is back behind the wheel!

Dont think Cellino has tried to turn fans against him, he has stated facts in his usual way, which I agree is the wrong way to do it. But what he has done is let everyone know Byram is for sale, if he is sold in jan it would be best for all parties. I think his agent may tell him to run his contract down.

If that happens then we will get a pittance. In my opinion the way he has been playing we already have Berardi and Coyle who look better than him. As for him joining the big clubs good luck to him but he will find it hard to get in their first teams. Should stick to Southampton or Swansea if either will be still interested come jan.

Not sure if I agree Big E. It's hard to tell with MC if it's just his big mouth that runs out of control, or whether he is deliberately trying to alienate Sam. And although I like MC , I def don't assume that it's always the truth that comes out of his mouth.
But whatever - Sam is likely to get a better club, and fee if he plays his b ***ocks off for us in the next 3 months. That would be win for him and win for us. Don't want to see a scenario where we refuse to play him and refuse to sell him.

No neither do I i was hoping he would look at the contract again in jan depending on where we were in table, Cellino has put paid to that so its goodbye and good luck. Be petty not to play him but he needs to go back to full back and Berardi is playing well there, decisions are hard facing Rosler, if he leaves him out he will be judged if he drops Berardi is it fair??

Just changing the subject a bit. Did Mr cellino only offer Lewis cook a one year contract don't you think that's another bomb waiting to go off.
