Anyone know what happened to Hammersfan from the games gone crazier blog? Haven't seen any abusive blogs from him in ages.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed013's Note - Hard to give out abuse when you are losing all of the time. Now they are winning I am sure he will be back}

This post was probably from the guy who writes the blog so please ignore it.

Ed, why would you allow this post which draws attention to a blog that derides Leeds?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - I have had my problems with him, I have no problem mentioning another blogs though, albeit he is an idiot}

Op - no, I don't write the blog but I didn't mind reading it as I always thought it was quite amusing - particularly the amount of abuse that hammersfan used to get from Leeds fans

{Ed013's Note - Ask Survivor}

24 Feb 2014 20:26:15
Ed, what happened to the takeover announcement today? Where is Survivor? What happened to his 'inside track' prediction that the thing would be done today? Has he lost his touch? Is this the last we'll hear of him? Where were al the other Survivor doubters on here today? Was it all a cunning and ever so slightly more subtle John Fitz revival attempt?
Wondering whether to purchase 'Italian for Beginners Part 2'. Please help.

All these people claiming to be in the know saying its happening today tomorrow etc, they only one who knows is Massimo and if I had to take an educated guess he's pretty confident of it happening soon. He's ran a club for over 20 years so he's not daft enough to let his daughter pose for pics at Elland Rd, his son to pose in a leeds shirt and him himself be seen in public posing for pics with fans and attending the leeds game if he wasn't confident of getting approval. I think the fact he was openly seen walking around the ground at boro on Saturday speaks volumes for the positive outcome (and very soon) of this takeover. Plus the signing of butland is another plus point towards it

does anyone think that in the likely event we fall out of the reckoning for the playoffs in the next five games that Brian should give the likes of Dawson, Walters, Mulhern, Parkin, Cook chances in the first team. I personally think next season we might just see Dawson challenge a lot more next season. Naylor and Bromby have done good work with these boys and think Parkin is England Under something international? Would certainly give the fans something interesting if we don't make it

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Dawson was captain yesterday

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it would be a good idea, but only when we are mathematically safe. Wouldn't want an end to the season like last year.

Dean Moxey anyone?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I don't know much about Moxey apart from he's 28 and an average player.
In my opinon we want young blood, players who can last a GOOD 90mins,
a playmaker who doesn't panic when squeezed on the ball. At the moment if ANY of our midfielders get the ball and they get harrased it big boot.

Cannot believe the FL can just keep on dragging this out without a word. Coming up to a month now, most takeovers just sail through, really getting hacked off with it all now and Survivors rumours are doing my head in.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Presumably if the foot dragging goes on much longer, the failure to act by the FL could be challenged in court as unreasonable exercise of powers .

Agree0 Disagree0

We all know the FL hate Leeds and will do whatever they can to hinder or hurt us, even make up rules as they go along.

They are probably drawing up a new set of criteria for the 'fit and proper test' or whatever they will rename it to as we speak.

They will then (yet again) penalise us for breaking rules that didn't exist, retrospectively?

How about a further points deduction for sacking a manager before you own a club?

Or a large fine for almost attempting to field an ineligible player?

I'm sure they will find something to hold this all up.

We are Leeds.

At least another 27 points needed for a play off spot, Anyone think we can do it.

Just heard, Massimo and Survivor getting divorced, apparently they were out shopping for a new house in Tesco when 2 elderly friends of Survivors, wearing Leeds City scarves and LUFC hats, accosted Massimo saying he was a Bosche sympathiser. Sorry but BMD has not got a clue, tactically he is hopeless, why does he continue with Keby and Stewart? Even worse he dragged out Noël Hunt again for yet another crap performance. New owner new manager please. Even Colin had a better record than BMD. MOT

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Give it a rest re mcdermott and get behind him.
5 wins and he is the best thing since sliced bread.

What has malky mackay done that Brian Mcd hasn't?

Agree0 Disagree0

Di Canio? Are you having a laugh? We have some talent in the squad but lots of team spirit and unity. That unity would be lost in 3 seconds flat with di Canio at the helm.

Just watching the game back from Saturday
We don't look that bad and I honestly think we are 3/4 players short of a squad good enough to challenge for play offs
First I would trim the squad in the summer get rid of Pugh drury zalinuas green tonge Norris
Watching boro woodgate still oozes class he would bring on our defence with his experience
So next season I would play kenny with ashdown back up still
Back 4 of Byram/Pearce/ an experienced centre back with class / warnock with pelts lees wooton and Taylor been back up
Midfield 3 of Austin/murphy/and someone with real positional sense to hold the midfield and sit in front of the back 4 a David batty type mowatt and thompson coming in if needed but the holding midfielder is key to this formation
then up front Ross/smith and I think hunt will show in the latter part of this season that he can do a job for Leeds and will start scoring
If we have signed Kebe him on the right and I would like to see a more workman like winger on the left a lower league Milner and bring Stewart on to stretch teams or poleon on
On and on Crossgates cal

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Weird how one bad game turned Zaliukas from a world beater to not good enough to even stay.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeh your team as above will be no better than this lot!
Kebe, Kenny, and Austin must surely go.
Improvement needed, not stagnation

Agree0 Disagree0

After seeing the class that Butland has I wouldn't have Kenny again this season, he can bench warm. Austin is not up to it either. I would have someone in the Kilkenny mould but better, he was a great playmaker. We should go for Hoolahan as apparently he nearly left Nawwich in Jan. Also try and get Madmax back. Also get rid of Peltier as he is dire & Tom Lees just hoofs. Another striker is needed for Ross. Would love someone like Hooper or even Crouchie dare I say.

Agree0 Disagree0

Did a great tackle earlier in the season but I think with his wages drurys and pughs, we could get a really good defender woodgate Morgan from Leicester or possibly get kurt zouma on a years loan from Chelsea next year .

Agree0 Disagree0

Possibly agree with kenny possibly abit if favouritism there
Murphy could be a play maker if we had a defensive midfielder that Austin and him can trust will keep position and just mop up in front of the midfield
Matt Taylor on the left would be ok works hard and can cross
Mo watt could also play make to be fair

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Feb 2014 15:23:39
I honestly thought the T/O would be today.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Takeover won't happen if it does, the league want to see what happens with the charge for embezzlement that he's waiting to go to court on. If he's cleared they'll have to approve the takeover, but if he's found guilty it's the reason to say no they want

Agree0 Disagree0

Please Please Please, Innocent until proven guilty. the FL cannot discount Cellino on a conviction that has not been proven!

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Feb 2014 13:02:14
Now here is a lunch time teaser.if Cellino keeps BMD and spends loads of dosh on really good players then we start winning regularly; is this becuase BMD is a good manager? OR if Cellino gets rid of BMD and spends loads of dosh on really good players then we start winning regularly; is this because Cellino is a good owner? Either way do we care as long as we play good football and win!?! Is BMD up to the task?

My eye! What do the YEP know! Arm chair journalists!
Did they send a reporter to Football League HQ? NO.
Have they sent a reporter to Elland Road or Thorpe Arch for interview / pictures of Cellino? NO.
Did they attend The Riverside on Saturday when the world and his dog had there pics taken with Cellino? NO.
Don't worry though a furrowed browed Phil Hay will come running when Sky call him in (cheques in the post)
Wake up YEP, you know Leeds United sells papers, you will loose readers!

Who have been our best two managers since Don and the worse two managers.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

24 Feb 2014 09:31:17
Wilko and GG and Larry and bmd

Agree0 Disagree0

Wilkinson and Grayson - only 2 to win anything since Don Revie

Warnock and McDermott - never seen such dire football at Leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

Best - Wilkinson - without a shadow of doubt. Then I would go for Simon Grayson.

Worst - Quite a few to choose from, but would go for Warnock (totally clueless) and Venables (inherited a fantastic squad and ruined it).

Agree0 Disagree0

David O Leary didn't do too bad, it wasn't his fault Ridsdale was lying to everyone.

Agree0 Disagree0

Er, what? Venables ruined a fantastic squad?! The players were sold off by Ridsdale from under his nose in a 'firesale' when the financial sh*t hit the fan. If he'd been told the truth about our financial state, do you really think he'd have taken the job on?

Agree0 Disagree0

RE Venables - Up until January only Rio Ferdinand was sold. He refused to play Batty (because he deemed him not mobile enough, in reality he did not rate him or like him), He refused to play Nigel Martyn because he deemed he to old. He brought in Nick Barmby (approx 4 million) who did not fit into the team. He tried to coach the players into playing the xmas tree formation, then moaned (when we were low to mid table) that the players could not understand what he was trying to get across. Forgot to mention, that he tried to build the team around the great Paul Okon!

Agree0 Disagree0

George graham is certainly up there sorted the defence out made a massive mistake though in not playing yeboah only thing I didn't like about him was when he jumped ship straight away was just starting to build something.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think one of the main reason no one hardly mentions oleary is because of the money he wasted on pointless signings we already had top strikers at the club in viduka and smith then he signs fowler, keane for way more than what they were worth

Agree0 Disagree0

My long lasting memory of Graham will be when I was down at White hart Lane, we were 3-1 up and comfortable with 20 mins to go, and for no reason he pushed Radabe up from defence to midfield, the game finished 3-3 and at the final whistle he gave us a wry smile. On the Monday he took the Totteneham job!

Agree0 Disagree0

RE Venables. once he realised he couldn't talk Ferdinand out of leaving (it was a done deal whether Tel liked it or not anyway), he was happy enough that he had a decent defensive pairing in Woodgate and Matteo. THEN he was told during the January transfer window that we had to sell Woodgate whether he liked it or not. And Fowler. He never wanted either to leave. Woody went to Newcastle, Fowler to Man City, if you've forgotten? As regards Martyn, he was told that he may have to sell Robinson if he didn't play him. As the younger keeper of the two, he decided he preferred to keep Robbo (despite Aston Villa having had an offer accepted by Ridsdale, and Arsenal having been offered him for the same amount as agreed with Villa). Martyn went to Everton as a result. Venables wanted both keepers but had to choose - it's that simple. Barmby started his Leeds career pretty well as I remember but then faded like every other player under the shadow of financial meltdown. Okon had done a decent job for Tel at Boro, so he brought him in as an option for free. Our midfield at that point was lightweight (Batty was past it, mate; Seth Johnson was forever injured, as was McPhail; and Dacourt decided he was too good for the team and asked for a transfer. Bakke was down the pub) And lest we forget, Kewell and his agent were out talking to other clubs without permission of our club.

Agree0 Disagree0

When you have Wise, Blackwell, Warnock, Venables and Reid to choose from, why would you say Grayson was worse?

Agree0 Disagree0

RE. Venables. oh yeah, not forgetting good ole Lee Bowyer deciding to jump ship for West Ham in Jan window - we got 300,000 K - yippee - less than six months after Liverpool had agreed 9million for him. The greedy little sh*t hardly played his heart out after that - like Kewell he was chatting with potential new employers. Oh and re. Barmby - agreed, he hardly set the world alight for us bu he actually cost less than 3m. Robbie Keane was another man out - his choice not Tel's in the August transfer window. Everybody knows that Venables was won over by a brochure from Ridsdale that was a pack of lies. Why do you think that O'Neill accepted the job verbally after O'Leary was sacked, then decided against it when he found out about the financial storm clouds approaching Elland Road?

Agree0 Disagree0

To the commenter about o'learys signings. O Leary actually signed viduka from Celtic for 6million. Brilliant signing IMO. Fowler was a risk that didn't come off as he had a past ACL injury but no doubt he was a real talent before his injury. Robbie Keane was initially signed as cover for the injured bridges but did well and as he has shown over his career is a very good striker. If ridsdale hadn't been a muppet with finances o Leary wouldn't have made 'unnecessary' signings. The Seth Johnson signing was awful, never rated him never worth 7million and definitely not 35k per week. It was o Leary who was interested in Johnson and pushed to get a transfer done, his biggest mistake as leeds manager!

Agree0 Disagree0

RE Venables - the man is the most overated manager in the universe, put him in the same bracket as Harry Redknapp.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not saying that Venables was the greatest manager in the world but how anyone can point the finger at him in his time at Leeds and say he was responsible for our woes, is ridiculous - the mismanagement behind the scenes, i.e. the boardroom/chairman's office, set us on a swift spiral downwards and not even the greatest manager in the world could have changed that.
