Good result and 3 points against a decent side players seem to be responding to ph main priority now for me is to develop a style of play and get a nucleus of a side to have a good go next year but summer recruitment must be right and ph MUST be involved in it though I don't hold out too much hope with the chap in charge of transfers MOT

If Cardiff beat the titties later we are still in with a squeak at the play offs.

Cardiff won so still have an outside chance of making up 5 points.

Bright and Wex I’m loving it lads. Odds against us but with Saiz back and Lassogo looking good who the hell knows. Twelve games and eight or nine wins could be enough for play offs. Fulham came late last season so we still have a chance!

Decent start today before Brentford took control. We scored against the run of play after Dallas and Alioski swapped flanks and Dallas was fouled, great delivery for the free kick and a good header from Cooper. Saiz then came into the game and was his usual busy self making things happen. Pontus was my motm and there were good games for Saiz, Berardi, Dallas, Alioski who defended really well and Lassoga. Felix was good, brilliant first half save and solid although they did not test him at corners. There was one flap when he punched away a free kick that was heading for his chest and it fell to a Brentford player who blasted over. Phillips did ok but with O'Kane they got overrun too often. O'Kane did some really good things but some dire things too as did Anita. Have to say that the three subs gave us nothing although RV didn't have a lot of time. The ref wanted to be known and was poor twice denying us goal scoring opportunities by not playing advantage. To put it in to perspective a clean sheet and three points against a decent Brentford side and without Forshaw and Pablo. More tough games ahead but good signs of players responding to PH MOT

Indeed - starting to get the basics right is a solid foundation for progress

Agree with most but Alioski and O’Kane were terrible yesterday. Alioski is only in the team (I’m presuming) because he’s left footed, can’t see why he’s in otherwise. His attempts at tackling involve ‘bear hugging’ or the classic ‘jump into opponents to try and knock them off balance’. He’s a decent out when we’re hitting teams on the counter but I don’t get what he gives to the team otherwise. He reminds me of a young lad going into the men’s game when I watch him.

25 Feb 2018 17:41:14
O'kane was poor in the first half, but came good later in the game, and Alioski was one of the best players on the park! Never stopped running, covered every blade of grass, and showed the heart that we all have been begging for from people who pull on the great white shirt!

25 Feb 2018 20:16:42
Think it helped having the grass so long, kept Alioski on his feet.

Agree2 Disagree1

26 Feb 2018 11:44:23
alioski is a far better player than youve just made out matt. technically he is very intelligent, he's just not consistent enough. anybody who can perform the way he did against boro, sunderland, forest away, derby away would suggest to me he knows how to play his position. he works back and i think he's goo din the tackle, he's weak but will nick the ball away from you, he's a very fast player, and is technically the best attacking winger we have (if you consider hernandez to be a number 10) he's better than roofe, sacko, and cibicki, that's why he starts. saiz gets the best out of him, that's why he starts

Good points there Samo! There are weaknesses to his game, but I think he's only going to get better and better!

Firstly thank goodness for the win brilliant well done lads. Secondly just seen the highlights of the fouls/in on goal and the other. What actually is the remit with referee's? because the way I see it (last 7 days) WE can commit a foul and its play on advantage! However its not quite the same in reverse! Saiz did well to play a ball/vision while falling backwards with 2 players clean thro. The other yeah ok I suppose. But the 1st borders on disgusting/not upto it type of reffin. It will be interesting to see what league he's working in next wknd. because if its in the championship our good friend Mr Harvey needs to reaffirm the remit of referee's because in the last 7 days I've seen 2 completely different ones!

Yeh the ref was poor but only against us but that's usual much better 2nd half and should have finished them off.

The ref was terrible today. At least twice he whistled for a foul when we were through on goal. Didn’t let the game flow at all. Bees boss was right, I thought the grass should have been 0.1mm shorter. Can’t argue with him on that one

That win has made a big difference. let's think about it really we conceded a silly early goal v sheff united we looked like we started cold and then an iffy sloppy penalty. we did well to come back v Bristol good second half . and we conceded v derby in stoppage time of half time and full time so little individual lapses and GK errors cost us those games in my opinion . now we have the suspended players back and hecky is getting an idea of his best 11 now I feel positive moving forward . Next 5 fixtures I think 3 wins 1 draw and sorry we aren't getting anything from wolves I think we could be back in play off hunt

I’ve only the news now references to go by but it appears the U23s are starting to mould into a team playing some good stuff too? This is where Bige is our normal font of knowledge. Hopefully Heckys reputation of giving youth a chance will see two or three youngsters become fixtures in our first team. Again, just what I’ve read be great to hear from anyone that’s watched them recently?

Think I'd start with similar team as v derby except . Anita RB and berardi at LB And probably Saiz ahead of Roofe

I'd still hold back Saiz until he is match tight after long lay off. Helluva player to have come off the bench in the second half when the opposition tiring. Give Saiz whole of 2nd half this time.

De bock could of cost us the game twice over against Derby . Some reason cooper decided he was unable to clear a ball forwards and always went to a derby player . I think we have missed ayling more than I think with his energy down the right then we could play berardi at LB
