Just to clarify a few things re Mr Leeds Jonny Howson, I can't believe I have heard so many people wish him luck. I also can't believe people are trying to say he was pushed, or that he was trying to secure his future.
This is a guy that decided to allow his contract to run down despite several attempts by the club to extend his contract, the contract offered to him was 15k basic plus bonus payments. I think he would be very secure on that. As for Ben Parkers apparent comments if they are true I find it unforgiving that a player with his injury record and performances for the club, who has been looked after so well and supported, and paid a healthy wage it smacks of ungrateful hypocrisy and his contract should be terminated if true and keep hold of his registration, because it is gross misconduct.
Regarding people comparing it to a promotion is it really, being a squad player for a bottom of the table team who will go down at the end of the season. Read the comments of Steven Gerard about leading and playing for your club for life and being a true legend, Howson hasn't even been to any matches since he was injured. It's clear to me that Howson is not a true fan and he has moved for the money, why would you turn £15k per week down. When he's crying when they go down I'll have my pint then.
Don't wish him luck, does he care about Leeds, Does he give a flying fish, come on people smell the coffee he couldn't care, he's dirty stum. Mr Leeds yeh rite!
Believable9
Unbelievable5
So you were there during contract discussions then? Of course you weren't so what would you know. Howson played over 200 games for us and has earned the right to the move.
Agree1
Disagree6
What utter b****cks you give fans a. Ad name pal. I wonder how you would act if you were offered more money to move jobs. Also he has done fantastic for the club. Don't be a winger and wish the lad well becuase he deserves it grow up and stop moaning
Agree3
Disagree6
And you know for a fact it was 15k a wk he turned down, that my friend is SPECULATION,he's gone to play premier league football,i am sure money didn't come into it,we have had 6 yrs with him in the side trying to get it and are no nearer now than at any other stage,he has grasped the opportunity to play in the top flight,he is now a premier league player something most of our current squad can only dream about
Agree2
Disagree6
You talk absolute and utter sh** he was forced out, plain and simple this is Bates' plan and tbh FairPlay to Parker for saying it as it is, as he too is a Leeds fan! I cannot even be bothered to divulge in explaining the ins and outs of this corrupt hierarchy we are under, but attacking a lad who I know as well as most Leeds fans have his all for us and probably still would have; if he'd even been given a sniff at £15k a year which I suspect he wasn't (The führers wage cap remember).
Agree0
Disagree6
I actually totally agree with this - but be ready for the flood of idiots who love any excuse to kick Leeds United. The club made him a good offer. It's interesting to think back to peoples' attitudes on Beckford. I also vividly remember Bradley Johnson being booed last season when he wouldn't sign a contract. What makes Howson different? Oh yes, he's from Leeds, so he loves the club just like Alan Smith does. Pah!
I also agree with the comments about Ben Parker. He had no right to stick his nose in like he did. One thing's for certain, he'll definitely not be missed and I hope we end up selling him to Carlisle.
Finally, I don't think this has been said in general, but I must admit I'd be less than impressed with the signing of Howson if I was a Norwich fan. He's not a Premiership footballer, he gives the ball away far too cheaply.
Agree6
Disagree2
Original Poster here I do know this for a FACT! Which most of your replies are full of conjecture and. I forgive your naive replies he is Mr Leeds so he must have been pushed yeh right, 15k it's the truth the whole truth, and nothing but the truth so help me god. 15k people thats what he turned down!
Agree4
Disagree0
Strange that there is no camera footage of Ben Parker spilling the truth in the world of camera phones no one thought I know i'll record this. OF course not because it's more BS.
Agree1

To the first post. Jonny's girlfriend has just had a baby. Of course he probably hasn't been to any games, he has much more important things to take care of (his young family) . . Thanks for everything Jonny! Here's to hoping you can break into the England set up :)
Agree2
Disagree4
If Howson plays for England I'll expect a call-up myself!
Agree2
Disagree1
Harsh, considering he plays in the Lampard/Gerrard position, and those two's days are numbered internationally. i can see it if he makes the step up.
Agree0

Howson will never play for England at full international level. You heard it here first.
When the going gets tough little Jonny goes missing.

Think leeds should try signing giovanni dos santos on loan as he had no gameplay at tottenham what you think ed ? {Ed003's Note - No.}
Believable0
Unbelievable0
Going to Bolton on loan, Leeds should only get permanent players unless there is an agreement for a future fee! e.g. Pugh
Agree0
Disagree1
Our record signing pugh, who realistically is a squad player,White is better than him at left back, townsend better on left mid, clayton and delph better in the middle...i agree we need to purchase rather than loan but if we want to get out of this league they need to be better players than danny pugh, and we aint gonna spend that type of money...so get ready for loan players
Agree2

Dos Santos would rip this league. we couldn't afford though, hence we brought Townsend instead.

Really think that we should look at signing Luke Chambers from Forest. His contract is up in the Summer, and he is easily one of the best central defenders in the league on his day! Having a tough time of it at the mo with dodgy managerial decisions and team falling to pieces. Could do a great job for us!

Believable4

I agree 20 players are trival but I would inlcude clingan and boyd in that 20. Wellens and st ledger maybe okay but didnt st ledger play for Leicester last nite? And dont forget St ledger went down with Preston and if he were so good why would Leicester want to get rid of him?

To be honest I'm less interested in who we sign and more interested in our players looking like they are motivated to play well when games start. I'm sick and tired of reading "we started slowly", can someone focus on how we make that happend because whatever is being tried at the moment is not working
Believable2
Unbelievable1
Well said. SG needs to motivate the players and not rely on the ref to help us out every week. We only seem to start playing when the opposition are down to ten

Did he not build this solid founation by putting us into administration. Surely any Chairman could have done this, sell our best players, spent bog all on new ones and the result would be a "solid foundation".

Anybody giving Johnny Howson stick on here should be ashamed of themselves.
16/17 years of service before giving himself a new challenge is not good enough for you.
Sacrificing his own position this year for the cause, to play a holding role whilst itching to play in a more advanced role and been slated by the fans for his performance, all the time whilst never publicly complaining.
Not to mention leaving the only club he's ever known to fulfil his potential.
Leaving a club doesn't mean you don't love the club.
He may feel he has become stagnant & needs something new or he is unhappy with the direction in which the club is going (like some of the fans) either way we are talking about an honest dedicated lad who has always given 100% & will be looking at our results with interest.
Me personally I wish him good luck and thank him.
Believable8
Unbelievable6
If you love something why would you leave it

To response#1 have you ever wanted a promotion at work? End of conversation. Good luck jonny. MOT.
Agree4

According to Ben Parker he was forced out and given a ultimatum to leave now or leave in the summer
Agree2
Disagree4
According to Ben Parker, a guy that has had more chances and more support than anyone. If Ben has said this his contract should be terminated. By the way Howson turned 15k down, money money, money. A promotion what for 6-7months then back to the old job for 3 more years haha. He's a dirty money grabber, there was no forcing read his words he wanted out, he does'nt love leeds, and leeds owe him nothing.

Its his standard feed to the press every transfer window - "I've got money to spend and lots of deals in the making, but injuries/wages/ambition/likes Mums cooking too much/wrong type of leaves on the rack etc, etc, mean I might not be rushed into signing players, we deal on our terms, won't be held to ransom blah, blah, blah". Heard it all before Simon!
Agree7

When did he say that?
Agree1

LIke I said - every transfer window. Be sure to be followed by last minute negotiations broke down after we started them at 10 minutes to close of transfer window or suddenly decided we did not need another knackered 34 year old midfielder/striker etc. etc. Next morning you find we have got a has been on loan or for free from MK Dons or Port Vale.........

I just wanted to comment on the so called negativity surrounding our amazing club, wot with the jonny howson situation, bates, SG under pressure etc etc. I for one can't understand the fuss, do some Leeds fans have short memories? We nearly lost our club, we were plunging down the leagues, we kept missing on promotion from lg1. I've just been told by my mate who works at elland road that johnny howson can't agree personal terms with Norwich. Apparently johnny would rather take the 15k a week Leeds offered than move to Norwich for 20k. The story is set to break at 6pm tonight apparently.

More nonsence, even if true, put the following words in the correct order, bridges his burnt, he is a splitter, I feel sorry for him, someone at some stage must have told him he is good, he is not, he is average

I have just been on Leeds web site and it say that Adam clayton is not going any where.
He states that he is happy at Leeds and likes the new midfield playing along side delph. Also he said he is here for the forseable future.
Come on grayson let's get delph on a deal for the rest of the season now and push for the premier league were are club belongs.
Marching on together !!

Thanks for that, some of us are able to access the official site ourselves, is that the best you can do? Hardly a rumour if Leeds are saying it publicly, go look up the meaning of rumour sometime soon. {Ed020's Note - no need for the sarky comment, some people come to this site before the official.}

Hoping so but Gradel said the exact same thing, he wanted to play for leeds 'for years' to come, 3 weeks later he went

I was at the match on Saturday and judging by the players reaction to the goals and after the match (especially snods and clayton), they don't look like they want to leave the club or lack any ambition! Darren o'Dea played a stormer so I think he would be a good permanent signing. Let's get behind the lads we have and get back to were we belong! MOT

Mills cost leicester 5 mill and is their captain so i doubt we could prize him away with £50 a week wages

Mills is apparently on £32k a week at Fester so it would ake us, by my calculations another 26 seasons to save up for him.

Just saw highlights from ipswich game on fox in Australia. Embarrassed to be a Leeds fan with all that anti bates crap. If your a true fan you support your boys through EVERYTHING! I own a business and understand sometimes decisions made will be unpopular with the customer but they are for the long term SUCCESSFUL future. Seems to me this current situation is the same. C'mon let's have some vision, howson decision the right one. Keep your eye on the prize all, still a lot of games left. MOT

So you own a business. And you may make unpopular decisions that upset customers. But in the long term you will be successful?! Arrogant ar$e.
How about; if you don't listen to your customers you may go out of business?
Thought of that one? More businesses fail than succeed due customers voting with their feet, and arrogant 'businessmen' thinking they are always right. Ken Bates, Fred Goodwin = no difference.
KB is already being severely hit were it hurts him the most.....
Agree1
Disagree1
Arrogant im not and I take customers opinions seriously - your a fool if you dont consider feedback. BUT they don't run my business same as we don't run Leeds. Not always as simple as you might see from a customer/supporter side of the fence. Understand where you are coming from as sport carries a lot of emotion though.

Not a rumour, but are other people concerned about what came out yesterday.
Home grown players are on a lot less money than players who have been brought in, presumably as their wages reflect the lack of a transfer fee.
When the home grown player nears the end of the contract and asks for parity, the request is refused and the player is sold.
This flawed policy means that a home grown player will never fully develop with Leeds and is contrary to what most Leeds fans want to see.
