I think it was a ruse - "lets make a shite situation, a crap badge change for instance, then let the fans get all crazy over it-now comes the good part- let them get it over turned and then they think they have won one"---" that will take their minds off the 2nd rate players "

By very clever of Radz to put out the fake new badge story today, to get the whole country talking about Leeds United. #Genius! 😁😁

Hopefully it does get discarded and then do actually ask fans their ideas. I'd be happy to see the Lufc lettering as in 72 cup final on a white shield with blue and amber trim.

Early today Angus Kinnear said the club would be definitely pressing ahead with the new badge as the club had Sort advice from thousands of people associated with the club. Now given the ground Swell of people who actually dislike the new badge he is opening a new consultation on it. How many knew of, or were actually consulted about this first time around? If I Was at all sceptical about this, I would say the thought of losing out on merchandising revenue has swayed it.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

24 Jan 2018 20:18:15
I'd say it was a major factor, but when they launched earlier today, they put the fans at the heart of the new logo. It would be hugely hypocritical to have ignored such a backlash, which, thankfully, they didn't.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Jan 2018 20:59:17
I don't know anybody who knew about it not one s/t holder i know knew, every pub in Leeds was rammed on Saturday nothing was mentioned about a knew badge as a s/t holder i like to think we'd have some kind of say on the matter.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Jan 2018 21:21:59
Supposedly 10,000 "stakeholders" whatever that means. No fans were consulted. Brainless move. Discard fans at peril. Discard Leeds fans? A fate even worse. #humblepieeaters

If it's not the players shooting themselves in the foot with ill discipline, it's the Board turning the club into a laughing stock. A little common sense is needed, why not consult the fans properly before release not just hope we will get to like it. Scrap it or kit sales will be virtually nil next season.

They have never asked 10,000 people and come up with this? The nearest I can figure is that they asked the same man 10,000 times. Surely the easiest solution would have been to set up a forum before releasing anything.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - and even then he probably only said it was good the last time to get rid of them....}

24 Jan 2018 16:41:06
Apparently the real reason for the new badge design is because we are trying to get into the North Korean market which is huge and largely untapped by Western clubs - expect 2-3 young North Korean signings for the future to arrive in the next few days to further cement this and we will be big in N Korea before you can say 'Nuke! ' Nah, not really.

Whether or not you like the badge, the fact he’s changed it and the fact he has bought the stadium and he has spent money on players (not saying good choices) , says to me he is planning on staying for a long time and his intentions are getting us to the premier league. Football is no longer about Just football to owners, it’s a business and in the business the more marketable you are the more money you can bring in. Theis Japanese lad is proof of that,

The fans of leeds are unhappy at the football being played, so the owners do the most symbolic thing possible by making a statement to us that we are the capital of the club and that we are as important as anyone. They won't change the badge, we may as well get behind it, radz means business and i know for a fact this thing won't get changed. Its not my favourite, but it could probably be worse, just. I support the club, not a badge, not a player, remember why you support the club. Its not like what happened at cardiff is it, going from blue to red. Same colours, more fan orientated. MOT boys, top 2 now i'm calling it, just you watch. 10 points to catch up in 20 games, get lasogga scoring and saiz back, and just wait and see how the next 4 months unfold.

few have said it but just to echo that. what is that new badge about? What fans were consulted? I was not aware leeds had 10,000 blind fans and even half of them would throw up at sight of new badge. I'm not from yorkshire but still the white rose is leeds, not any other club leeds it must be on our badge. I always said I hate tattoos but will get leeds badge on heart when I die to be buried with it. just pray to god my kids don't use this badge as a final joke on me bring back the 90's badge or something similar, I'm bais as that was my time as a kid but that represents leeds not some badly drawn white bloke doing some russian salute to Starlin also not local but I like to think I am very up with it as a leeds fan. pretty sure the leeds saulte is not a massive thing is it?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

24 Jan 2018 14:03:04
A lot of fans recognise the salute but just as many if not more would be baffled by it i think. maybe not now. I liked the 90's rose badge as well - that and the smiley one were my favourites.

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jan 2018 14:09:44
A lot off clubs players and fans do the heart / chest salute, that I have seen. So just get rid now. It’s diabolical to look at. We have went down the retro kit look. Why not with the badge. ? Had to be a masssive petition against this joke

fair enough least it is a thing, a salute is one thing, passion etc. i quite like it, but on a badge is looks a touch racist and communist. maybe trying to get russian investment in which case what a great idea
