Is snodgrass going to leave?

Believable2 Unbelievable5

Yes, unfortunately, he is on holiday at the moment but my friends partner is his daughter siennas teacher and she has been toned that she is not going back at all, this is one of the top private schools so it can only be because they are relocating, paynter children also attend but they are.staying

My girlfriend works at the nursery in headingley where Caspe Ankergren used to take his daughter Victoria, and she says he phoned up today aking if they had any spaces available for her to go back. Seems a long way to go everyday from Brighton to me......maybe we only want goalkeepers name after friendly ghosts?? And before yousay it, she wouldnt make it up cos se couldnt care less about "a load of blokes running round kicking a silly ball and falling over" as she says!!!

Kilkenny transfer understandable. He knows that when we get promoted next season he would be the first to be shown the door as he's not PL material. He has decided to remain in the championship with BC on bigger doe than we were offering and no chance of promotion.

Why does everyone doubt Grayson and bates??? Get off their backs. Grayson has got us in touching distance on premiership better than Mac n wise did. If it takes a couple of years then so wot we will get there so let's support our team through thick and thin. We are leeds and we all love Leeds so let's get behind the boys and give them the support and confidence no matter who steps on that field and wears the shirt of Leeds, get behind the boys and make them win. Make them believe in the badge and play for our land. Marching on together. Come on leeds

Loach, Smithies, Lonergan, Camp, Forster. 5 keepers we've been linked with, but who would you prefer? i've never been convinced by Smithies, but he's got a lot of time to improve. Loach is already on the fringes of the England squad, he would be perfect.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Smithies would be my man.....young....but needs a strong back 4 in front of him......was good last term but then again they were a free scoring side untill the play offs....Perhaps instead of Smithies we should be looking at Jordan Rhodes...

Why are loads of people slagging-off Grayson?! He got us promoted, got us to 7th (just, just missed out on play-offs) in our 1st season back in the championship and is now changing our squad for the greater good. Whatever Grayson will do this summer, it will be part of his plan to get us back in the top flight.
-----------------------------------------------------
Grayson also said when we bought Eric Grimes (16 year old goalie from Ireland) that he was 1 of 3 keepers he wanted to sign this season, and now he's signed Rachubka! Rachubka will no.2 to someone else. who? don't know...

Leeds stepping up interest in Damien Delaney of Ipswich. He has played 49 times for town and another appearance invokes a clause to Mansfield of 20% of original 750k fee. Ipswich dont want to pay . Leeds, Hull or Derby to sign him. Info from Mansfield Town where he still keeps in touch.. Mr Stag....

what a load of s**te!! he was on loan at mansfield from
Leicester City. so they dont have a clause on him what so ever.
QPR on the other hand do this is how it works £250,000 if Ipswich reach the play-offs and an extra £100,000 after he has made 50 appearances for the club.

no ones, nos who is coming in and out of leeds, no staff member will tell you or anyone who works at the club as they will get fired. it happened last year fact.

just going to have to wait and see...

All Leeds fans should know by now that SG has his favorites, maybe there not the best players but what can we do? We've just got to get behind him and hope that he gives others some good match time to prove there selves as better than his 'favorites'! MOT
---------------------------------------
Please name these "favourites" people keep banging on about. Naylor - Gone, Johnson - Gone, can't think of any others. So?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Graysons favourites - Johnson went but still played on until the end (not very well, Naylor played on after his sell by date, Paynter played when he shouldn't have made the bench(even Kandol would be better). Now he has brought his favourite keeper from Blackpool. It took an Ian Holloway to see that gilks was the better prospect. Somma hasn't been given a fair crack comes off the bench and scores. When Grayson is forced to play him from the off its always out of position. Presumably to convince everyone that Paynter is the better option. Hope SG does well and proves me wrong. {Ed015's Note - i would like Somma to be given a proper chance, surprised lots of people last season}

I agree, can't see what SG's problem is with Somma!

watch this video and the one team alan smith says he will never play for. i dont think he will come back tbh after the crowd abused him at st james park in that friendly

www.youtube.com/watch?v=60NNSwKxc0g&feature=related

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Did any of us including smith ever think we'd get relegated? we all say stupid things and dragging this up is getting boring!
to be honest if a professional footballer bottled coming back just because of a crowd then I'd be shocked because smithy is a tougher nut than that. they didnt sing on behalf of all Leeds fans however loud they bleated and I seem to remember smith brushing it off as banter and smirking at it. Can't say he's not bothered but I don't think that will put him off

Agree1 Disagree1

Smirking, just shows what the guy thinks of Leeds fans! He's money hungry and will put that before his love of his 'team'.
Smith talked about relegation with his family and GF a good while before it looked on the cards, so he knew something like that could happen with the financial difficulty the players knew we were in way before it was out in public. Dont make out he's a thick naive lad because he wasn't, he knew excatly what was going off way before any of us!

Agree2 Disagree1

He knew it was a possibility but at the time of that being broadcast no one did not even smith so we are just reading a lot into things as hindsight is wonderful commodity. Let's stop being bitter and move on.

Agree1 Disagree1

He still commented on his actions should the possibility take place. He went back on what he stated and he's made his bed he can rot in it. He just said things to paly up to Leeds fans and get more money out of his Mr Leeds tag. The guys a compulsive lying dog. Smith should never grace Elland Rd ever again, we still have our pride even if we have had a terrible 8 year. If that returns, our pride as being Leeds is dead. The pride of our club is more important than some mercenary looking for his last pay day!

Regarding Alan smith ed thinks no one else wanted him boro Newcastle both wanted him he chose scum would gerrard of liverpool do the same no not a chance cos there is more important things than money like loyalty I sit in revie stand week in week out and the hardcore leeds fans hope he never returns milner said when he left aston villa when scum wanted him there is some things you don't do he would never do it to the fans now he is someone you would welcome back with open arms that is loyalty if it makes you feel better to believe he did it for the good of the club believe it why should he be different to the ones he grew up with kewell remember him

--------------------------------------------
What Nonsense! If Liverpool were in the same financial position Leeds were and had to sell Gerrard and his options were Man U or Newcastle do you honestly think he would choose the toon? They are called PROFESSIONAL footballers because it is exactly that, their profession and as such they will always make the decision they feel best furthers their career. There is no-one at Leeds, I'm sad to say, that wouldn't go to Man U if given the chance and that includes SG!

I don't know whether or not Smith is likely to come back or not but if he does we need to get behind him not slag him off. By spitting blinkered hatred fuelled bile towards the guy you would only be damaging the interests of the club you claim to love.
-----------------------------------------------

Believable3 Unbelievable4

Exactly! I didn't like Kewell and I wasn't overly fond of Beckford's arrogance when they were with us but I backed Leeds and supported us regardless. It's one thing to disagree about a player it's another to be so personal.

Agree2 Disagree2

And what if he's sh*t and gets picked above young talents simply because of his name? Is that doing the TEAM any good then....no! Disagreeing over a player playing for your club that isn't beneficial is sometimes whats best for the club. Take your rose tinted hero worship glasses off. He's one players, we needs whats best for our Team, and thats young investment!!

Agree3 Disagree0

If he doesnt perform every leeds fan is within their right to slag him off, he cares about Leeds that much yet he'll be bleeding us dry on such ridiculous wages that he kows we can't afford, all whilst laid up for a season of the treatment table.

Agree3 Disagree0

Get behind him lolz not a chance the guy will be taking the opportunity away from players that actually deserve a start and have actually put the graft in to do so. The current Team is more important than newbie signings that havent proven anything what so ever.

Agree1 Disagree2

The guys a c*ckend, he's crap in midfield and he's a striker that isnt a prolific goal scorer. He may as well go and retire, then his fan club can follow him wehre ever he goes and leave us in peace.

Why dont you get a life. You were no doubt saying the same last summer and we finished 7th in the table and if was not for a bad run at the end of the season we would have easily been in the playoffs. Agree1 Disagree7

He's definitely not coming to Leeds. His wages are ridiculous and, even more importantly, he's passed it.

Agree4 Disagree2

No they don't, newcastle are terrified he'll stay sat on the bench for another season on his 60k a week wages. He's all about the money! They are practically begging us to take him of his hands and he still wants to stay for the capital, right nice bloke he is.

Agree3 Disagree0

Prove he is!

Agree3 Disagree0

On twitter it does say he's training in the Gym with one of his Newcastle team mates in Orlando Florida, he's staying face it.

The most recent news on this is Feb-11... and this involves Leicester chasing with us.

Leeds United have signed Michael Johnson from Manchester City for 3 million. He will be undergoing medical check at Elland Road, once he returns from holiday. The deal will be officially announced, once he passes the medical check.

----------------------------------------------

Complete and utter nonsense.

LUFC don't have £3 quid let alone 3 million. Going down!

Of course we have the money, we are one of the few teams nowadays that makes profit, its just KB is sensible with it. I could however think of a better way to spend 3 million!!

It amazes me how many people come on here, or on other forums and seem to do nothing but slag off the manager or chairman.

Makes you wonder if these people are actually Leeds fans! What is there not to be happy about when you consider where we were when SG took over to where we are now?

Believable5 Unbelievable2

Weve had greedy players over the years, a board only interested in their own pockets, terrible managers and KB pocketing all of Leeds transfer money....why wouldnt Leeds fans feel negative about things like this. It hardly makes them any less Leeds, if anything they worry about the club and want the best for it! All of this if you b*tch about players/managers/chairman means you arent Leeds is a load of B***ocks, those that sit by idoly whilst the club is mugging the fans off they arent Leeds! Would you still be supportive of Risdale etc would you keep quiet now if the same things in the past were occuring now....of course you wouldnt... WE ARE LEEDS!

24 Jun 2011 11:43:01
I wish some Leeds fans would stop giving us all a bad name.

I wish we would splash some cash and buy some decent players or pay decent wages.

We seem to have a strict regime in place for the wage bill at Elland Road and if that means up keeping a half decent side and staying in Championship for a few years until either Bates sells or starts increasing it then so be it.

I would rather be a financially stable club in championship than the heart break of been a yo-yo club who could go nearly bankrupt again.

Have faith in what Bates and Grayson are trying to do, build a stable club and a decent team on the pitch.

It is Bates money at end of day and if it was your millions you wouldn't just throw it around.

MOT!! Pez

Believable9 Unbelievable1

Very well said.

Agree7 Disagree0

I think personally that Grayon knows what he is doing..and that has not taken me ANY time to think about at all. So because it has not taken me ANY time to think about, we are in safe hands i can assure you! I am 40 and been through it all with my favourite team..no one luvs them more than me, although you will say you do lol. But to be honest Grayson and Bates seem to work really well togther, and this is good for the club and for the future. We are not in the in debt like Leicester will be if they don't go up, and they'll struggle to go up. So, when we go up, this season or next, believe me, we will this season or next, then we will be debt free and some big money man or group WILL come in for us. Don't worry about the future, Bates will sell us to a mega rich person or group just like he did with his beloved Chelsea. So that will take care of itself..I want us in top 4 of the premier every year, not for bloody 3 seasons then go down like we used to. But to contantly be in the top 4 ALL the time. There will never be another Ridsdale in charge. We will have a money person in charge to take this club where it belongs. Oh and Fergie WILL retire in the next 4 or 5 years or before if we're lucky, so i will luv to see them suffer. There will never again be another Fergie at Scum, so don't worry about them, they will not replace him. A person like Fergie happens every 40 years or so, so they will not replace him for yonks. We have Grayson, he 'could' take us to the top fot years, if he has the money..when we eventually get taken over. Don't worry about that Bates will do us all well eventually. Lets concentrate on getting out of this league..All work together in pushing forward. Just look at the plans for Elland Road..does it resemble anywhere? Chelsea thats who..and we will be a fabulous club to buy off him..no debt just think of it..The world could be ours soon..so KEEP BELIEVING :)

My opinion is, we are Leeds fans, so instead of moaning about who we have or who we sign, lets get behind them because they are PROFESSIONAL players for a reason, they are obviously good enough, Paul Rachubka was quoted as saying ''I have been told I will be challenging for position, I want to show the Leeds fans what I can do.''

So give him a chance to do that.

Look at it this way, we have some quality players at our side, and most of them we brought from League 1, so we only need to improve our defence as we was second only to Watford most goalscorers in the league last season, which in my humble opinion is a great feat!

Lets give Leeds a chance this year, we are some of the most passionate fans in the world if not THE most, so lets show that passion and get behind the boys and March on Together to promotion next season, I have every faith in EVERY person that works behind the scenes at ER and am sure that they have the same passion and drive as all of us fans.

More signings to come i'm sure of it, who wouldn't want to play in front of 40,000 fans every week and a packed out away stand on away games and be part of the amazing Leeds United history!

More positivity from you 'fans' please!!

Agree3 Disagree3

Agree3 Disagree1

Dream scenario, what are the chances he'd have a perfect return. He'll be on the treatment table in no time, either that or shy from the ball like he does at Newcastle. That hardly warrants a heroes return. Dream on.

Agree2 Disagree1

Haters, how old are you ten?

The only time his socks will be coming off is in the treatment room. The lads knackered, why cant his ''fans'' see the ''Team'' and getting in new, young and talented arrivals is more important than getting in a maybe player, that will never be. He's crocked, if you adore him that much go and camp on his front lawn and stop begging for his return to elland road its embarassing. Your all dreaming of this ideal scenario, what is the likelihood of this being a reality, at least Bowyer has ''Proven'' he's still up to the challenge and not some injury prone leech. Be realistic at least, we need to learn from our past experiences and not waste money on ''prem stars'' that are past it. Build for the future LUFC!

Agree1 Disagree1

No one would 'love him again', those that stopped doing so did it for a reason. the guy isnt worth lauding over, he may get clapped if a goal goes in 9for the team) but do not ever expect everyone to ever 'fall back in love with him', the only people that still 'love him' are those that never fell out of 'love' with him in the first place, their Scum followers! The guy has made his bed. Noone will sing his name, or class him as their favourite player anymore because he isnt worth out trust or support. AS, as a team we would want him to perform but as an individual no chance will he be seen in the same eyes as he was before. He should realise this, it wont be anything like his first stint. Can he hack not being the golden boy? Probably not the egotistical p***k.

All i can say is all you people saying once scum always scum about Alan Smith havent got a clue about football, i mean Paul Rachukba played for Man Utd and i dont here you slagging him off. !!!

Believable2 Unbelievable4

Not slagging him off? You're joking aren't you? Everyone's saying he's rubbish before he's even worn a Leeds shirt.

Maybe they just thing he's not up to the same standards as Kasper, just a thought. Not EVERYTHING is about the golden child Smith. *Rollseyes*

Agree2 Disagree0

Why haven't people got a clue about football simply because they brand Alan Smith Scum? What a joke, some of you havent got a clue. You put one player about the rest of the team the club and its fans. Who's clueless here, the latter clearly.

Agree3 Disagree0

Paul Rachukba- its not really the same scenario is it my dear? Was he born in Leeds, did he make out he mas Mr.Leeds? Did he claim he was one of the fans? Did he play up to fans by claiming he felt the rivalry that they did, 'I'd not play for Man utd'? Did he claim he was staying at Leeds even if they got relegated? Did he flick V's up at Leeds fans? Did he claim we were beneath him as he wasn't a championship player? Did he claim Man Utd was where he wanted to be most as they were the best club (MUTV)? Did he celebrate a goal at their place as if he'd just won the lottery? Did he claim he wanted to see out his career at Man Utd? Did he turn down an England call up to play in Man Utd reserves? Did he turn down a loan to Leeds when we were in trouble opting to play for Man Utd reserves instead? Did he claim in a recent interview (New vs Leeds)that he knew what he was doing to leeds fans and the reaction they would take and not be welcomed back when he accepted his move to Old Trafford? Hardly the same situation is it?

Agree1 Disagree1

Schmeichel was a great shot stopper but after he returned from injury he did not command his six yard box. He isn't very tall & that could have been a factor. Prior to his injury he did seem to be more dominant in the box so it could also have been that his confidence suffered after his time out.
Whatever the reason we now need to forget about him and get on with supporting the manager in his search for a replacement.

Neil Kilkenny has well and truly lost the plot! He said he wanted to leave Leeds in order to play for a bigger team (probz the prem) and has now ended up in Bristol :/ If i was KB i would offer him another contract becuase he would chose us over them and tbh we could really do with him back.

MOT!

Believable2 Unbelievable9

Anyone that doesn't want to play for Leeds for the shirt over money can go in my opinion!

Agree8 Disagree0

Kilkenny will have turned down an offer from us, he's probably moving for the money

Agree7 Disagree0

Kilkenny was the reason we only played one up front for the latter part of the season. With him in midfield we lacked bite & therefore needed an extra midfielder. What he added in creativity was limited & the quality and accuracy of his distribution was poor. I'll be glad to see him go.

I have been a leeds fan all my life 38yrs my friend a Newcastle season ticket holder rang me Alan smith has refused the option of cancelling his contract he wants to stay and fight for his place you mean he wants the money he had the chance to re join the club he supposedly loves but he chose money again just like he did when he joined the scum by the way he said they want rid he is to slow and the reason they won promotion was down to nolan carrol and barton so why are we desperate for him back {Ed015's Note - the reason he joined man utd is because leeds needed rid and no1 else wanted him}

Ed think you'll find other teams did want him just were not willing to pay the money upfront as Leeds wished!

Other teams wanted him but would only pay in installments and only Sc@mchestee came up with all the money upfront if he was such an arse he wouldve taken the £1m sign on fee but he didn't and if he was a total prat he wouldve left before we were relegated like some others we could mention
always going to be a divisive subject but we will see what Grayson does
Smithy still goes to Leeds games and I think despite what the papers are saying both parties are interested it's just us fans jumping the gun

Where's this proof he left his signing on fee? I've never seen any evidence of this, its just another rumour they reprint and churn out over and over, it suits the pro smith agenda, funny you dont want proof for this like you use the excuse of no proof involving the kissing of the Man Utd badge. He did have other offers (upfront) but they were abroad, he turned them down. It was stated at the time. (by smith)
And have you ever given it any thought that he stayed as long as possible because thats were his family lives, nothing to do with loyalty. He knew Leeds were up the river due to finacial problems he discussed it with his family and it was on the cards way before the end of the season. Wonder why he was having business dealings with Alex F in January of that year. ;) He even openly stated himself he wanted to go Man U, and Alex F said his desire to play for Man utd he had never seen before from a players. Get your head out of your rears people.

Proof? Both parties are still interested, so spill. As for him returning to Leeds he was photograghed once and he stated on the radio it was his first return since leaving for Scum. Dont make out he has a ST, he plays football when WE play.

Their is absolutely no proof of a signing on fee being left behind. And even if he left the loyalty bonus that he was claimed to have been 'owed', he was practically saying he wanted a scum move so how is that not saying you want a transfer? Stopped a bidding war too in the process. You all claim to hold Lorimer and gray etc words as gospel, yet they have both stated the Opposite in the past many times! They are cushioning the transfer incase of a return, its called damage control. Dont take it as fact it's all about Good PR nothing more. The money Smith got from the scum move really saved us from going under didn't it. Please stop making out Smith or Bates is some sort of saviour neither of them are, they are both out for no.1, eager to line their pockets. When everyone leaves the club who remains US, we need to make sure these Leaches dont bleed our club dry.

I tottaly agree, we was lucky to capture him last season and he was one for the future so we thought, i can only see alex smitthies from huddersfield been able to fill in for kasper as he kept us in so many games last year. good luck to Kasper

Close sources saying we will sign ian evatt from blackpool after he rejected latest contract...heard it here first! MOT {Ed015's Note - Its been posted on here before.... you heard it here first!}

Didn't like it the first time. In Blackpools last match in premier he gifted Man Utd one goal and scored an own goal- not much better than Collins IMO

Heard a rumour that David Nugent wants a move back up north, who thinks we have a chance of getting him in or whether he'd be wanted?
