Don't think we have ever done much business on a Sunday. I'd expect something to come through this coming week though.

Dont think much will happen this week as NW is on holiday ,i think we could hear the start of next week.We will hear on here the sublime to the ridiculous, but hey thats great keeps everyones spirits up.

knowing some people, i reckon Englands performance is somehow Bates or Graysons fault

Believable12 Unbelievable1

No its roy hodgesons for been so boring

Agree4 Disagree6

With the way England started last night we should of walked that game but instead the further into the game we got the more we backed off and let the Italians into the game .not really Hodgson fault its just the English way for some reason .

Agree5 Disagree2

Agree with second post - we sat far too deep and looked like we had no ideas

Agree4 Disagree3

Rooney was crap.well off the pace, hardly picked a player out with his passing, bad move by Hodgson, should have stuck with fit players, poor performance.

Agree3 Disagree0

Weve been sitting far too deep since Capello was in charge, but then again Roy has always played with a fashion of either scoring one goal or seeing the game out, or as last night indicated, just defending like heroes for 120 mins, unfortunatly, one of the most over rated England players decided to cost us the game

Agree3 Disagree0

Agree that England sit too deep and invite pressure onto them, we were lucky that the Italian forwards didn't have their shooting boots on. I'm glad we didn't face Germany they would murder us.
Rooney was off the pace and shouldn't have been risked and why was welbeck taken off and not Young?
we've got a long way to go to catch up the better teams. Ron

Agree2 Disagree0

That game was there for the taking, silly negative tactics cost us. Attack is best form of defense in knockout stages. Vinny.

I really hope we don't get paddy Kenny he's really not worth the money that could go towards a better defender, how can we afford him yet we couldn't afford ward who would of been a very good signing? Secondly vital Leeds say its rumoured warnock has his eye on a walsall winger who's 20, can't remember the name though

Believable1 Unbelievable8

Top priority Paddy Kenny. Consistant & proven at the top level. Start at the back & work forward. Have faith in NW.

Agree6 Disagree3

Not sure about kenny . maybe hes got the experience but i think i would rather see lonergan in net still . i cant see kenny pulling off some of the saves that lonergan did last season. we look to of almost got our defence sorted now so can only see lonners as my choice

Agree4 Disagree2

Ward wanted to stay down south because of his bird nothing to do with money we could have offered 1 mill he still thought about his bird, she must be a cracker to turn leeds down

personally ed this kind of thinking is ignorant racism, as someone said harry kewell didnt kill them nor did galatasary! it was a couple of turkish thugs, who have been dealt with. most leeds united fans sing about munich as a joke with no consideration to anyone, but as soon as these are mentioned start issuing arguments over morals. IF harry kewell was to come back he should be treated with respect and hopefully help us back to prem. as painful as it may be for people but the killings and football ARE seperate, club and player can not be held responsible. {Ed013's Note - How is that Racist? Have you not read anything I have said? I don't blame him for the death of Christopher or Kevin, I don't blame Galatasaray either. What I said is out of respect he could have gone anywhere but there}

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Kewell proved by his actions that he had no respect for the feelings of Leeds , their fans or the families of the guys killed - he is NOT welcome

Agree9 Disagree2

Is there simething wrong with you mate? We are not saying it was the Aussies fault or blaming him for what happened, we are just saying when he went their it was totally unacceptable, he showed no respect for the families. Stating he was going to build bridges between both clubs, he went there because no one else would have him. A pay day and to the hell with the feelings of the families or the 40,000 fans who cheered him on every game, or the club that took him from being a nobody to been a higly paid footbller, our and he stifed a skint Leeds when he went to liverpool. The guy is a joke and personally if he did ever come back, he would get no respect from me.

Agree3 Disagree2

MOST Leeds fans DO NOT sing about Munich, only the few mindless morons....

... don't tar us ALL with the same brush!

We don't own ER so people who say there is no takeover, think over this, why would Bates get the planning for a casino, hotel etc, these are the things that have helped sell the club.....LUFC will soon be taken over and the great times will be back

Ade351. MOT

Believable3 Unbelievable5

LUFC may not but i bet pappa smurf does indirectly

Agree2 Disagree0

All those Bates vanity projects have lost money - big money in the case of the radio station - money that should have gone into the team. Why would loss making projects attract investors? The only thing that would be of interest to an investor is the possibility of putting 40,000 backsides on seats at ER again and that will only happen when we get promoted. We couldn't even fill the ground against Scumchester last season.

With ken bates in charge at leeds utd the club will not progress forward, takeover/investment just a smokescreen for yet another bluff by ken bates. Its just the same as simon grayson had to do, bargain hunt with a promise of funds which never happens and still has not too this day.The season will start with the takeover/investment not completed or pulled out then ken bates excuse will be we were to late to sign players we wanted as the funds didnt come through in time. He will run leeds utd into the ground as long as there something in it for his crooked ways. No newspaper knows anything, which its there job to know. Thereis nothing to report because nothing is happening.

If mccormack gets sold, warnock said if someone like him or clayton leaves, they will be replaced players with players of at least equal or better quality. mccormack finished 3rd top scorer last season he will have to go some way to find better than that.

hi im new to this so here goes everyone got a short memory ken bates saved us .secondly grayson is a league1 manager he got us in championship, his buying for championship was very bad.we have a load of donkeys and warnock will get us promoted his record speaks for itself

Believable7 Unbelievable10

Sorry mate your first sentence ruined it. 'Bates saved us' ha ha ha ha

Agree8 Disagree4

Grayson was given a poor transfer/wage budget can't possibly rate him by the championship campaign . if i had the choice between grayson and warnock i would pick grayson all day. hes young and still learning the trade of management and yet hes only 4 promotions behind warnock with many many yrs less experience to his name . warnock 7 promotions in 30 yrs managing ,grayson 3 promotions in 7 yrs managing .

Agree1 Disagree4

What a ridiculous post! 'His buying for the championship was very bad' Fella have you looked at who Huddersfield have just signed? Scannell from Palace! The kid has pace and is a great striker, not only that but he was instrumental in them nearly clawing an easy win against us back last year at Elland Road. Grayson can spot a player... The difference is he has the financial backing and club ambition at Huddersfield, something we lack with Bates at LUFC! Bates never saved us, we had better offers on the table, he wormed his way in twice and is now draining us of our quality players and cash! I say viva la takeover and I can't wait for Warnock to utilise some proper footballing finance to push for a sensible promotion with ambition! Keep the faith MOT!

JP93

Agree3 Disagree2

Typical Grayson hater, knows naff all about football

Agree2 Disagree4

Grayson was given neither a poor transfer nor wage budget... We had one of the top wage bills in the league and look how many players Grayson brought in. He spent money but he bought quantity not quality.

Agree1 Disagree1

The last post is inaccurate - we have one of the five lowest wage/income ratio budgets in the whole of the league - as in all four professional divisions. Why do the idiots on here swallow Bates's BS. Grayson performed miracles and had 11m worth of players sold with less than 1/2m spent on replacements.

What happens if the bid for takeover fails? No-one has approached me as a member and asked to pledge money for a fans takeover.
I would gladly give £1000. If there are 50,000 fans who would give the same we have £50B. I don't known anything about running a fc and I have no idea if this is enough. Ed you have my email if you need to work with LUST or whoever. I pledge £1000 if you can get enough pledges to cover the money needed.

Mm I'm starting to worry a little.lots of rubbish on here and we really don't know who or what to believe.ok the 3 signings are ok but they are not alone going to get us up.snodgrass would not stay at that.now McCormack good chance of going to hudds for 2.5 m.are we going to see that money ?.is the investment more for the property surroundings than the team? Is it a takeover?.now I know nothing so I'm not going to make something up but until I see different I have to believe this year will be like last.promises that lead to nothing.money that disappears, free signings to make up the loss of others.now tell me something that is not a lie which will make methink otherwise,.i mean ten people must of put on here it's going to happen today.this day that day.nothing is happening apart from freebies to replace freebies...shrew leeds

24 Jun 2012 17:03:13
Now I know every ""die hard"" Leeds fan will jump on the bandwagon now and say that I'm so negative and just get behind the team bla bla bla, But I have to say sadly I don't see this being a good season for us to be honest all this alleged takeover talk and all the potential talent out there especially on free transfer (our favourite kind) and we sign Drury and Green both barely average League 1 players at best although Pearce is a great signing in fairness.

Does anyone really believe there's a takeover/investment on the cards since it looks like already with these signings we're setting a very low expectation of the type of quality player we're looking to sign if money was to be invested.

Oh yeah almost forgot if McCormack goes to Huddersfield for 2.5 million then surely even the "die hard" Leeds fans have to admit something is a miss at Elland Road.

Please don't comment on this with the rubbish about it's only June wait wait wait and get behind the lads and the club or go support someone else. I'm only stating my opinion which I'm fully entitled to but no matter what happens I will always support and love Leeds however I will also air my grievances when I believe we are been taking for clowns.

Well said mate, sick of these wums myself

Agree4 Disagree1

As much as i disagree with what hes saying, the lads allowed to post his opinions, i hate people who accuse others who dont share the same opinions with them of not being Leeds fans

Agree2 Disagree0

If drury was barely average in league one how come he played about 25 games in the prem last season in a team that surpassed expectations in that league and secured a mid table finish. As for Green he is a quality player at this level and caused us problems last year. Im sorry but i don't agree with your opinion at all. Ryan

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry but Drury played only 12 premiership games last season where you get 25 from is beyond me and the majority of them came at the end of the season when Norwich were struggling with injuries and they only won 3 of them with him in the team and as for Green being a quality player proven at this level he's had 4 years with Derby where he has achieved nothing and been consistently poor for the majority of and if you're comparing his talent to when he played against us - everyone looked quality when the played against us unfortunately.

Agree1 Disagree0

I for one do not believe theres any takeover.I think there will be investment though.BUTIN WHAT FORM.Our "Beloved Chairman",stated that when Elland Road was selected as 1 of the tender bidders for the new casino, that all the monies would come from external "Investment"!!For the ground redevelopment and building and running of the casino!!Hope im wrong and have to eat humble pie......id do that happily! Agree5 Disagree3

I have to agree with the first poster , i think it could all be a big disapointment - but to be fair i dont care , as long as warnock gets the players in that he wants and we get a good run at being promoted and have something to sing about

Please post this ed. I seriously don't understand this defence mechanism leeds fans have when there is even a hint of a rumour our players could leave of completely under estimating their abilities, I know in the past when a player is rumoured to leave they generally do but we have to stop this. We did the exact same when Gradel, Howson, Beckford, Schmeichal were rumoured to leave and more everyone wants them back, Imagine the team we could have if they were still here. Ross got 18 goals last season which was the fourth best. The other other three are now premiership players, he was brilliant last season and him clayton and snoddy completely carried the team. He got loads of goals even though in some games he got shoved on the wings and in central midfield. We have to show some faith in our players and when there is rumours about possible players moving away, we should be in outrage and say they shouldn't leave not just say they were average anyway. MOT JTW

Believable5 Unbelievable8

I agree Snoddy and McCormack played well last season, but I found Clayton not so great. First few games, yup I agree, but after that he was left wanting. Paul Green will do a better job. As for Snodders and McCormack, if there isn't a takeover, then we'll have to sell to strengthen other areas.

Agree2 Disagree2

Clayton was one of our best players until Howson went - after that he had too much work to do and he lacked the experience to cope, but he passes well, tackles well and very rarely gives the ball away and those are great qualities. He'll improve with age and letting him go now will be a mistake, just as it was a mistake when we let Howson, Johnson, Gradel and even Kilkenny go. You cannot build a team by letting your best players leave and finishing 14th after a good season finishing 7th should be all the evidence you need. The new signings all look good to me but the wrong players are being allowed to leave. You need a squad to win things, not just a team of 11.

In these days of players who sell their soul for a handful of silver it's nice to know there are still some gentlemen in football I was fortunate to meet one Mr Bechio a couple of months back at Leeds &bradford airport he was with his wife mother in law and children he doted n his kids and I helped his wife with her push chair he thanked me and shook my hand. I told him I was a Leeds fan and appreciated his efforts in every game he plays. I asked him are you coming back next season to which he replied yes of course where else ? This unlike a lot of stuff on here did happen and showed me there are some nice people in football who don't say do u know who I am and lord it over us mere mortals Philbramley {Ed013's Note - I was the same with Andy Hughes. Great with me, the wife and the kids. Went out of the way to talk to the kids and make them feel welcome}

Hopefully that is one mistake he will always regret. PhilBramley {Ed013's Note - Totally agree Phil}

I can't stand everyone trying to justify the sale of McCormack, yes 2.5 mil is a good amount of money but I couldn't think of a better striker at this level for that amount, he's got a great touch and strike, he's quick and agile and also he's still young. And, if there is a takeover/investment we could afford to give him good wages and gerty another to notch striker auch as beckford/campbell or whoever. The same goes for clayton he's young, technically brilliant and hungry to do well for leeds united. I don't think you could replace him in a roadMaPs years for a few hundred grand at his age. Come on Neil sign them up and give them some equally good partners and we'll rip up this league! MOT

JackTheWhite

Believable5 Unbelievable8

The trouble is Ross plays for his self not the team,he did it at Cardiff scored goals then wanted to move on same at Leeds one good season and he wants a shead load off money.not worth 15 grand a week.as for a better player Blackstock works hard and scores goals.imo we would get him for 1million 10-12 grand a week, and he is a Warnock type off player Ross is not

Agree3 Disagree0

No hes worth 20,000 you dont get many strikers that play for a team that finishes 14 th scoring 18 league goals. had Leicester and west ham not of been in this league we would of probably seen most if not all of the players that have recently left and those that will probably leave sign new contracts with us but as them 2 teams are willing to spend 20,000 pw atleast .
if you was a player playing for say derby and had the choice to move to another team and get double the wage your on i think you would move no matter who it was .

Agree0 Disagree1

24 Jun 2012 11:58:02
Have to say although I don't particularly want Rosco to move on especially to Huddersfield previous shout for bringing back Beckford is an excellent shout. I was at last game at season and the Leeds crowd were singing for him and he give the Leeds salute was superb I know some will disagree but that nan belongs in a White shirt the fans love him. I for one Neil if your listening would love him back and feel many thousands of Leeds fans would also. Philbramley

Believable10 Unbelievable1

You like many Leeds fans are quick to forget the stick he got in his last season with us. Makes me wonder why he would consider it with our fickle fans.

Agree1 Disagree3

Original poster I like a lot of the fans who attend all the games don't know what your talking about his last season he scored the most goals the fans loved him and also scored the goal that took us into the championship what flack that's precisely the reason he does want to come back because the fans love him

Agree1 Disagree1

Rubbish the fans were always on his back and even grayson dropped him cos his head was elsewhere.

Agree2 Disagree1

Fans were on his back once the rumour of beckford signing a pre-contract with everton ,really was sour grapes and no-one at the time knew if the rumour was true or not. really we should just see what happens if a player leaves to move on with there career they should be thanked for there work at the club not abused .

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jun 2012 11:56:51
Like many others i have been reading all the posts around the investment/takeover but one thing keeps being missed that is where is Ken Bates he may be ill like some posts have suggested but even that would have probably set off a sighting of him at some time.As far as i can see thaere has not been one sighting either in Leeds, Monaco or elsewhere.I would have thought that journalists would have been looking for him pretty hard for some clue as to what is happening to inform the fans and get the 'scoop' that everybody is waiting to read about. For any deal to go through he must have been present at some of the meetings surely, so why has nobody seen him. I would also add that there does not seem to have been any sightings of Harvey either, they must be meeting potential new owners/investors somewhere yet i think no reported sightings have been reported, does anyone else think this is pretty strange ?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Put your money on him doing a Reggie Perring and sunning himself ermmm in the Cayman Islands probably.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - I will not be posting any posts regarding the Aussie that went to the place that killed 2 great fans, as a mark of respect to the families. Before I get hounded and called all names under the sun, in my eye's as a player that was worshiped by the fans and saw the devastation of the club when the incident happened, should never have gone there. Other Eds may post it, but my opinion and thought still lies with the families of Christopher and Kevin. Thanks M.O.T}

Just want to say that Im very pleased with how things are progressing. We have signed three very good players all of which will strengthen our squad. Once we move some players on we will be able to sign some more quality, regardless of a takeover. If that does happen it will be a bonus. Also we have the best manager in the division bar none, who wouldn't have joined our club without thinking he could progress with us.

Hiya Y'all,
Don't know if I'm being dense but if a takeover is potentialy happening then wouldn't there be a transfer embargo? I thought to value the club and its assets you would need to stop the club signing new players. Surely Ken Bates wouldnt allow us to sign any players if he was about to sell up? I know this isnt a rumour but after all the other rubbish thats been on here I was wondering if anyone else is starting to believe that a takkeover was nothing more than wishful thinking?

Believable2 Unbelievable3

I was under the same impression, but if they are free signings does that make a difference? Chris

That is unless the takeover is a done deal and they are holding off on an announcement to prevent player prices rocketing, one can only hope! Robbo 77

I don't know why everyone is getting so excited at the Jordan Rhodes rumour.....he's has one good season, in LEAGUE ONE! He isn't proven at this level, last season was his first decent season, Beckford was dominating when we were in League One, why wasn't Rhodes? I'd be more happy at keeping Championship proven Ross McCormack then sign the one season wonder Rhodes, Paynter was the same, I like Paynter he works hard, but he has one flying season in League One and failed in the Championship, who's to say Rhodes won't do the same, his value is way to high and he is very over-rated! I'd rather sign someone already in the division! I hope all this takeover/investment is sorted soon, Pre Season is only a few weeks away, NW needs a good idea of his starting 11! Would like to see Clayton stay, as well as White! But we'll all have to see, realistic signings that would make a difference to our 14th placed finish from last season to a promotion pushing side would be the likes of Paddy Kenny, Peter Whittingham, Darren Ambrose, Gregg Halford and David Norris! All be rumoured, all realistic, and would all make a difference! Come on Leeds bring on August 11th! PICKERS-LUFC

TOP NEWS!! Just been told off my sauce that we are been takeover by massive american franchies. They will be 3 main signings this week. The first one will be brown, followed by cream. 3rd one will be a little juicy and might not arrive until preseason is underway. How ever Warnock has said he shouldn't have a problem and will be able to ketchup with the trainning. My sneaky feeling is, the American franchies is Ronald Macdonald.
Carn't wait to see the new menu, buzzing.

Can everyone stop with these Leeds rumours. There will be no takeover, it's one of Bates big scams and we are all falling for it. His people have leaked a rumour of a takeover, so everyone can sort of understand why we are not spending buckets of money when we are going through 'due diligence'.
Come the start of the season we will have signed a few free transfers ( Pearce, drury, green- see what I mean) and then we will hear the excuses that we were let down at
the last minute with takeover and now it's too late to sign players cos all best ones have gone or maybe transfer window closed.
Mark my words, it's gonna be same old sh*t and another disappointing season, may even see the jumped up t**ts from cleckhuddersfax above us this year.
