Some people say that GFH have no money for permenant transfers. LOL!!!

Why buy a club, say your expecting prem ASAP then not spend big. They've kinda told the world now! They'd look like right knobs if they Didn't splash the cash in jan ( not to much but u now what I mean)
Plus it's their money it's the mystery billionaire backers
;)

Believable7 Unbelievable3

Just opposing fans posting this sort of drivel because they hate the fact that Leeds have finally been taken over, and now have money to spend

Becchio was an unsung hero today, scored and held the ball up well, his reaction after the goal he scored shows his affection to the Club and fans.

24 Nov 2012 20:59:25
Awesome today

Believable5 Unbelievable2

Much better but let's not get carried away by one result boys and girls. They gifted us the first goal and missed 2 or 3 real sitters before we scored. People seem to think this one result means we're going to win the league. We're not.

Agree12 Disagree10

There is nothing wrong with enjoying the moment, we will celebrate the victories not worry about the fact we may lose the next one.

Agree16 Disagree1

So what if they gifted us the goals? you have to be in a position to take advantage of gifts, if we had been 2 or 3 goals down it would not make any difference, but we were performing well enough to make those gifts count, we did not gift CP a goal that is why we won the game but the fact that we have gifted goals this season is the reason we are in the league position we are.

It's quite sad to see low attendences at big games like the one today!
New owners first game since signed
Two new loan players
Playing table topers
Cheap ticket prices compared to other matches.

Why more people weren't their ill never know
If you can't pay that price you need to support a league 2 club. £26 for adults against a good team isn't that much
Hope there's more for the next weekend match

There should be 25,000 plus at Ipswich match

No more excuses. Show them we are leeds.

AGREE if your going to Ipswich match to show your support! {Ed013's Note - I have said this for ages, there are genuine fans that can't afford to go and there are the one's that use Ken Bates as an excuse and will now find something else to blame. I know lots of fans abroad that would love to go every week. Come on Leeds fans, support the team}

Believable16 Unbelievable4

Try and consider some of the of the other costs involved for many Leeds fans who are'nt lucky enough to live close to ER. £40 in fuel for me to get to a game! I'll be there Tuesday thats half a day off work, I will also need food and drink, many people travel futher than I have to. There are many reasons people can't attend all the games. Geting a bit sick off all this where are you?

Agree11 Disagree2

I'm a regular reader on this site and I read posts of people saying there not going to the games because of bates.im from Ireland and have never been to a Leeds game before and I would go to every game with a heart and a half if I had the chance. {Ed013's Note - True, so true mate. To post above, I am lucky enough to just about afford to go every week, but it makes the pocket bare. I fully understand why some cant afford to go. I have 2 sons and to take them both is a strain on the wages}

Agree8 Disagree0

Original poster here.

To the first reply.

I know why u mean mate I spend £20 in petrol money going. I understand there's fan that don't live as close as me. I'm focussing my post at the people in and around leeds saying how they wouldn't come because of bates then when the new owners arrive no ones there.

Plus last season we played worst than that and still got 24000. Just seams like people who went regularly last year can't be bothered this year.

But you have to admit 20,000 on Saturday at ellend road against the league leaders and the first game with our new owners doesn't sett the example of what leeds united is.

But overall I do understand u mate!

Plus credit to the people that travel miles and miles to get to the games. I kinda rude that people who live a 5 mins walk away don't go and u do!

Agree3 Disagree1

I upped my overdraft for season ticket, works out 50% cheaper to get season ticket. Vinny.

Agree0 Disagree0

You won't encourage people to come back by having a go at them. Some people have just had enough of the crap we've been served up for the last 7 to 8 years. I attended today as my original reason not to go was bates but I feel he is now not really in control so that's fine for me.others however will not come back until there's real evidence we are heading in the right direction, two loan signings will not pursued them at the moment. I feel speaking to these people that if some real money s spent in jan then they will return. Ed I feel you should be a little bit more impartial on this matter and not have a go at these fans try to have a little more empathy with them as I originally commented slagging them off is not going to help the situation. Mot

im one who wont come back till bates has gone. only been to 4 games under his brutal regime. bristol rovers, man u away , ipswich when they went down and wolves this season. dislike the man with a passion hes divide leeds fans right down the middle. its like being a miner and voting for thatcher. its going to be a long time before fans return gfh made a big mistakekeeping bates.

Agree1 Disagree3

No real fan would stop going now because of bates. It's rediculous! He gets no money and will only be there as chairman till end of season.
It's childish how you've stopped supporting your so called beloved team because one mans involved.
He'll not even have an influence next season!

Fans come from miles and miles to support their team with financial strains!

Stop using him as an excuse and grow up

Agree5 Disagree1

I always lived in London and still do. I go on average twice a month or once depending on work. Use train, hotel ,ticket. Every week? Can't really afford. I know a lot of true Leeds fans here in London who simply cannot afford to come often but live and breathe the club. All I'm saying don't judge too quickly. Support comes in many ways . Can we ask the immense Scandinavian fan base to come every week? Or Australian? Some Leeds fan somewhere in Asia is probably dreaming to come once. Gates will eventually go up. Do not expect it in a week.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes i agree i live in brighton and imm thinking about moving to leeds as its so depressing not being able to watch the mighty whites. and if i did live in leeds bates would not stop me from going. hes just a pathetic old man we are a brilliant football CLUB the team im sure with the new owners will come. Fantastic result today, we deserved it, we rode our luck at times, we took our chances and the players all put a shift in...WELL DONE LADS.
Surprised at only 20900ish there, was a bit flat first half with atmosphere and backing, but 2nd half ER erupted...WELL DONE ALL LEEDS WHO ATTENDED.
Now lets have the rest of the fans back and get a full ER putting the s***s up visiting teams, we seen the lads respond to today, lets hope its the start of our comeback!
To top it all, I met Eddie Grey in the Club Shop, what a legend..now if we had more of his type........!

An extra 1800 fans this saturday compared to watford. All u bates haters whats your reasons for staying away now ?!?

Believable7 Unbelievable2

Using Bates has always been an excuse not to go by the anti Bates mob. Truth is they are not proper supporters if they were there would have been 30,000 there today.

Agree1 Disagree5

I think they were (are) LUST supporters over inflating their anti bates stance. I think the crowds are down simply cos of fans not having the money. Nothing to do with the LUST lot not going. makes you wonder how many of the LUST 8000 were able to go to matches regularly. ie most of them probably live outside the country. probably genuine supporters, but it only takes a handleful of people to say they are not going cos... and there are 8000 of us....I can't see the crowds going up an awful lot.

Agree2 Disagree2

I know lots of LUST members - every one of them has a season ticket, me included, and I've had mine a VERY long time.

Gotta say it was a top performance today the new lads did well and I'm sure they'll get the headlines but Sam Byram needs a special mention. What a talent. Zaha is one of the hottest property's out there right now and Sam had him in his pocket today. Very mature performance well done lad. Cm84

Sadly though your post has just alerted Delia.

Sadly for Delia we're not a selling club any more. let's be having our players back!

Hope this brings back the fans, if you really want to get promoted this is our chance, i will do my best to get to ER as often as possible, and i hope all you will do the same! MOT!

Theres a post further down on the banter page which is a good shout and most people are of the same mindset about old players, loyalty etc. I could have just commented on that thread but wanted to start a new one on the same theme.

The player I wanted to talk about was one Lucas Radebe. A loyal club and national player. He was as loyal for Leeds as his beloved nation (read the book).

His testimonial was a great day where 40,000 turned up to applaud a legend when we were averaging 20-25000. Ex players turned up in respect for The Chief and a true legend.

That's what loyalty gets you and something today's overpaid prima donnas will never experience.

Mad Mick

Believable10 Unbelievable0

They don't make them like Lucas anymore. A true leeds legend.

Agree7 Disagree0

24 Nov 2012 19:07:34
theres been a big change in how much a player gets paid since then thats why theres no loyalty as theres always another team that will pay more for there services

Agree5 Disagree0

Original poster here. Yes you address a good point about wages but footballers have always earned ridiculous amounts of money compared to the working man who watches them. Lucas was courted by other clubs including spurs when George graham went their but preferred to stay at LUFC, the club who made him. Read the book, he is respected at every level including the great nelson Mandela. Lucas raised our average gate by 15000 mainly due to the respect everyone has for him.

Leeds the Champions of Europe!

24 Nov 2012 14:26:18
just seen team for palace. why does warnock play peltier at left back. I can only think he feels he needs to put him in team because he is captain. drury is by far the better the best left back at the club.play players in there best positions for god sake warnock you person.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

And what do you know, leave the managing to the manager

Agree3 Disagree2

Totally agree with this comment pelts looks shaky at left back and he's not as good as Bryam. Sometimes you have to admit your wrong and move on NW needs to do the same and drop the lad. It's a shame but true. Cm84

Agree3 Disagree0

Reason for this i have heard, live in Cottenham now, is drury told warnock he should be playing, row ensued, warnock put him in his place and dropped him. from what we have seen this season i think warnock could have cut his nose off to spite his face. mot

Agree0 Disagree1

I agree. Great game today but do think Dury at left back and Pelletier at right back makes sense. Also prefer Sam Byram at right mid. He looked a bit light weight today although still think he did well against Zaha who would be a handful for anyone. Can't complain today though....everyone put in a shift and we even passed it around a bit today which was good. MOT

Agree3 Disagree0

All the back 4 had a good game today, Byram had a brilliant second half.

Agree2 Disagree0

24 Nov 2012 17:19:38
Warnock out now?

Believable5 Unbelievable11

Yes. One result doesn't change anything. We need a manager to go forward, not one who plans to retire in 5 months. Even if he was getting results I'd still want a change because his long ball has always failed in the premiership.

Clubs who succeed in the long term are the ones who plan for the long term.

Agree0 Disagree4

Today's result showed that we can compete against the better teams in this division, so get off the managers back and support the team.

Agree1 Disagree1

Silly comment. One result proves nothing, either way.

So January. 8m. What dya reckon? We could also raise about 500-1m by selling 4 or 5 cirrent squad and using youngsters. 9m then, Just 3 good championship/ prem players in!
Who? Nobody over 27! Defender, midfielder and striker?
Serious contenders are???

Believable1 Unbelievable6

Unrealistic as it is. I think we have to go for Thomas Ince. He's brilliant and Blackpool haven't been doing as well under Michael Appleton.

Agree3 Disagree2

Ppl go on about that we should nt get Paul Robinson back frm Blackburn u say he is nt that gd put were r blackburn with paul robinson in the net. thats right they r in 6th so why say he is nt that gd when blackburn r doing better then us.

Agree0 Disagree6

Ince ? tottenham 10 million pound bid? we have 8 ? liam mot

Agree2 Disagree0

Doing better than us because we had half the team out and they could spend 8 mill on 1 player, not because they have robinson, you a closet blackburn fan?

Agree2 Disagree0

Following today's performance some of that money could we be spent on Tate and Thomas, if they fit the bill and are doing the business then why not. I cant see them costing mega money which should still leave us with enough to get a couple more quality players.

Not a rumour but after everything thats happened this week will be very interested to see what the crowd will be today will all those who said they were staying away now return.I really hope so come on lets get behind Colin and the team and show the rest of this league what makes Leeds UNITED!!!

Believable4 Unbelievable3

The reason fans stayed away was due to bates, they didnt want to fill his wallet with hard earned cash, to which he wouldnt invest in team

Agree3 Disagree1

3 of the 5 people I've been going with for decades have been boycotting all season. One is back today, the others have plans they can't cancel but say they'll be back from the Ipswich game onwards.

The only thing that worries me now is whether, once they've been bored to tears by Warnock's dreadful hoofball, they'll start staying away again until we get a decent manager.

Agree1 Disagree5

24 Nov 2012 09:15:47
in January we need an hard challenging cm tho cover for austin .a player who will put 110% in for the shirt with similar attributes to scott parker and joey barton i think thats got to be the first position that gets sorted out .

Believable9 Unbelievable0

24 Nov 2012 00:23:17
anyone talking about Paul Robinson coming back, why do you think Blackburn don't want him any more? his career has been winding down ever since he was dropped by England. he's fat and immobile, and we have 2 equally good keepers already.

bring howson back?

Believable1 Unbelievable32

I wouldn't have Howson back even if he payed his own wages. This lad could of stayed around alittle longer but instead, he wanted to join the other sellout Johnson. That crap team is coming down and we are going to wave them by at the end of the season. Lets show them what they have soldout on.
BARMY ARMY!!

Agree14 Disagree1

He had his chance. He chose a tin pot club. Plus we will be looking for a better standard of player now.

Agree19 Disagree0

Bates practically made him leave

Agree6 Disagree5

It's about time some of you lot grew up and learned the difference between a football supporter and a professional, career footballer. Premiership football is probably still some way off in my view and all of us, footballers included, have a right to improve our professional lives.

Was I being disloyal leaving my job to start my own business 15 years ago? Not sure, let me think about it while I drive from my lovely house to ER in my beautiful car...

They're doing a job. They're professionals, not fans. Get a grip.

Agree3 Disagree4

Howson was a leeds fan thru and thru, he could've stayed and helped us get back to prem, he didnt , end of.

Agree2 Disagree1

And now hes a bit player at a crap club,,hes not premier league class, better in the championship, wic is where theyre heading.

Agree2 Disagree0

How could Howson, or any other individual player, have helped us get back to the Premiership? Get real. He was pushed according to both Snoddy and Parker and the squad was nowhere near promotion standard with or without him.

As for 'the crap club' I'd happily swap places with Norwich right now since they're 33 places above us and I really don't think they will be coming down. The league table doesn't suggest they will given that they're 13th and playing OK. And I'm pretty sure Howson is Premiership standard which is why you're all whining.

Being a football fan really doesn't mean you have to lose all perspective on real life, not that you'd think that by reading some the pathetic, immature drivel on here.

Agree4 Disagree1

Our passion their proffesion

Agree0 Disagree1

To the norwich fan above , go away with your drivel, even you know howson is sat on the bench most weekends.

Agree0 Disagree2

Hope you're not calling me a Norwich fan just because I supported Howson's decision to put his career and family first. Season ticket holder, going since 1970. Just a bit more grounded and grown up than most on here it would seem..
