Looks like there is little chance of a Beckford return.
I am personally furious at Bates.

He wont be that good, he would score 10-15 goals for us tops, wont be prolific enough, you saw him at leicester, id rather have dave nugent

I already have a bad feeling about next season after seeing bates say we will not be rushed into signing players

Original poster, seems my link has been rejected, but basically Leeds have been offered Beckford on two occasions this season and bates has rejected him twice. Unlikely we will sign him now.

Furious at him for what?

Turning down the opportunity to spend £3m on a player who wouldn't sign because he was too big for us?

Not wanting to sign someone on wages that would have been way above anyone else's in the club?

When he left, everyone said "No-one's bigger than the club" Sure we were sad to see him go, and I'd take him back in a heartbeat, but not at pointless expense, and not when it would mean players like Snodgrass potentially turning down new contracts because the wage structure doesn't allow him to earn as much.

Not to mention the fact that as soon as Stoke or Norwich or whoever come calling, he'd be off again anyway.

Think he did the right thing personally.

Leeds are reported by sky sports to be in talks with Diouf the controversial striker is a free agent after Doncaster was relegated and Warnock seams set to offer him a position at Elland Road. He definitely has the flare in my opinion but can also be a hand full of trouble, what do you guys think of this potential signing?.

If Warnock can work with him and get his head right he can be a great player like he was at Blackburn, but he's just another free agent.

Skysports OS says Warnock is talking to El Hadj Diouf about coming to Leeds. I don't want him - Warnock can leave now if he wants him - He'd destroy the dressing room or any team spirit

Cant stand him, hope he isnt coming!

Dont care what it says on sky sports,its still only a rumour,weeve been linked with dozens of players up to now with probably dozens more to follow,cant see it happening.

loads people saying bates aint gona give warnock much money for new players if thats the case dont turn up and watch simple as that . that will realy hurt him with out much money coming in

No. It will hurt the club.

As would spending money we don't have on players we can't afford.

Just been reading on vital football ken bates comments about not rushing into any new signings . Neil Warnock has said he wants to move quickly and get the team sorted early doors. I can see nothing but trouble ahead. If Neil Warnock is still in charge and Snodgrass is still with us come the start of next season i for one will be amazed. How many times have we heard this carp We wait in the transfer market and lose out, We wait on contract offers and see players leave and we wait for all the excuses. I really hope im proved wrong but i very much doubt it . No matter what though il support the team and hope one day somebody who gives a damn will make us great again Rant over.

adam hammill is a posibility?hammill and kightly for the wings and snoddy behind jay bothroyd we are laughing.hammill n kightly are the type of players we should be targeting.

we all like to see beckford back but he must be on close to 40 grand a week by now is he not hardly gonna take a pay cut either way is he cos he left for money in the 1st place well PL football too!!

He left - we dont want him back, ok scores a few goals but he's very lazy, not what we need.

Speak for urself i dnt want him back cut it in league one but nt cut in in champ or prem and drifts in and out of games luxury we cant offord next season want workers and grafters mot !

Really didn't cut it in prem league im pretty sure he scored 10 goals for everton hes scored in each game against chelsea 1 for everton and 1 for Leicester . he was 2nd/3rd choice at everton so 10 goals is pretty good .hes exactly the player we want back at the club and should never of let him go . only reason beckford down in championship is because leicester was spending silly money otherwise he would of still been playing for everton

How many of our current squad have more goals than his this season? Just Ross. Thought so!

He'd be too expensive, but he certainly is a proven goalscorer at any level.

So none of you saw the goals he scored in the Premiership then?

Fuller from stoke would be an awesome signing for championship on a free in summer also Delap on free aswell warnocks type of player plus that long throw.

I think Beckfords attitude stinks but come on hes better than anything else we have! We arent moving forward were moving backwards at present, someone like Beckfor would at least give us some hope for the next season. Or do ya want Relegation cast offs from Pompy?

Im greatful for the goals he scored for us but in my mind he chance has gone, we need new fresh players none of the players from the past. besides beckford couldnt play for NW he would be reluctent to break a sweat, spends too much of the game walking around we need 100% for 90+ mins

To be honest id sell becchio, hes tall, should win headers and score goals with his feet, look at the same kind of players in the championship, Lambert top scorer i believe, we need to improve our strikers, id love to see Beckford back

I disagree we just need to bring in another quality striker or 2 to challenge becchio and mccormack instead of having paynter and forrsell

We def need a striker with more pace!

Ffs he has had a bad season. If he had hav left last summer you would be saying he was not loyal to the club. Why don't SOME supporters try returning the faith and be loyal to players that have had a bad season.
