Use our rumours form to send us leeds transfer rumours.

Cellino isn't selling the club, he's just bringing independent legal action against the Football League so that LUFC avoids any sanctions that the FL may slam Cellino with. I'm sure he will be back after he's given them a legal pasting, then take up the reigns as owner of LUFC again. Also, Russell Crowe can't afford us :-)

The problem comes pre-season, who is going to be in charge of transfer policy? The We need to keep Sol Bamba and our young talent. We can't, if we're wanting promotion, be caught on the hop again like we were last summer. We need to do our business early, not scramble about in August for the scraps left by our rivals.

Bye Bye Bye Massimo
Bye Bye Bye Massimo
Leeds United is in the process of being sold.
Great shame as I for 1 liked the man.
If it hadn't been for him we would be in massive trouble.
Admin would have happened a long time ago.
Just hope the new people learn English quickly.

This Russell Crowe thing is a non starter. He has no chance of passing the fit and proper person test. I'm sure I've seen him killing dozens if not hundreds of people. On the other hand.

I also think that it would be unnecessary to bring in any loan players at the present as I believe we do have a "balanced" squad, albeit depleted thro injury at the moment. Let us assume that we will not take the division by storm in the remaining matches but by the same token will crawl clear of relegation (be it ever so slowly) so the time is near for us to look at the bench, (especially when we are safe at the latter end of the season) with a view to possibly releasing a few bodies and recruiting improvements early and bedding them in early. Rather than the last minute panic (buys) we have encountered in the past.

As we are pretty much safe now should we be bothering with trying to bring loan players in and wasting money. For example I don't think we need any defenders if we have an injury we can then see whether Del Fabro is good enough for the long term, in midfield we have Dawson, Phillips, Walters Adryan and others waiting to play if needed so plenty of cover, and we certainly have plenty of strikers not to need anymore.

The remaining 14 games can be used to see how all these players cope with the championship and blood some for next season. The only reasons I can see for getting some players is boosting the squad numbers which as I say we do have players we could use.

Secondly we may want to get some with a view to them coming next season and if that was the case then I would have no problem but just loaning players for no apparent reason I think is now not necessary due to our recent run and the points we now have.

The result last night demonstrated the challenge of the Championship, in that any team that is not operating at their optimum are at risk of getting beat. It is also fair to say that it is becoming harder and harder for teams to embark on long unbeaten runs because of the competitive nature of the division, case in point this season that Watford in 6th place have lost 10 games this season whilst the teams above them have lost 6 (I think). That said, Redfearn has to learn that it is difficult to compete for 46 games a season with a small and regular core of players. Unfortunately it would be easy to criticise if Redfearn made whole sale changes to last nights team and we had still lost but it is clear that a number of players are becoming jaded and therefore subtle changes in personnel may be required. The decisions regarding substitutions does little to ease the demand on players. Last night we had 4 strikers, 2 defenders and a goalkeeper, therefore despite playing 5 midfielders we did not have a natural midfield replacement on the bench and therefore any substitutions would force Redfearn to change formation which probably highlights why he is generally reluctant to make substitutions (although I accept he did last night). We have been unlucky to lose Bianchi, Benedicic and NGoyi to injury however there are others i.e. Adryan, Thompson, Dawson and Kalvin Phillips that are midfielders. Redfearn has to make the decision to use these players or bring in cover through the loan window. I do not feel that we will go down but the quicker we get to 50 points the better (3 wins still to get), but the bigger picture will be about how Redfearn learns about utilising a squad in order to mount a serious promotion push next season.

I will make an unbelievable prediction right now.
Redfearn sacked after the end of the season from his present post as chief coach.
He's great at Thorp Arch but anyone who brings back Cooper as Captain over Bamba isn't really on the right page.
Don't suppose any of you will understand and we will all be there on Saturday but the man simply hasn't got the very hard streak needed.
It's a difficult life isn't it.

We should be getting players like that Teixeira on loan from Liverpool. Scored a few goals & has pace, something we are lacking in. My point is why are we missing out on players like this? I said as much in an earlier post. I don't see the point in wasting money on players like Del Fabro, Cani, Doukara, sloth, Ngoyi who are not getting regular games and who either aren't ready to step up to the mark or able to make an impact when needed. Scouting system needs looking at for next season. Sign quality & look at quantity.

Yes agree it is a bit odd we don't seem to get any of these potential types from the PL this season, must be a reason?

25 Feb 2015 16:16:48
Our scouting system is continental Europe based with very little input from the head coach. Teams that sign these type of players tend to have links i.e. Karanka at Middlesborough is helped about by Mourinho, Steve McClaren being an ex-England manager has given him significant contacts. Unfortunately Redfearn does not have these links with prem teams and therefore will not get favours.

Have heard bits and pieces on social media (yeah I know) and other outlets that the mighty Russell Crowe could be interested in buying Leeds!

How great would that be, imagine him saying "are you not entertained" as we put teams to the sword at Elland Road(OK will stop the Gladiator references now).

He does own one of the top RL sides in Australia (which were poor before he bought them, now world champions) and has loads of money and does like sport so long shot for sure but not impossible.

Thought Redders actually was correct in his assessment of last nights performance we lacked energy compared to Brighton and really didn't haveany menace about us in the final third. Have seen Brighton play number of times this year, unfortunately that's far and away the best they have played for sometime. Definitely missed Byrams pace. Canni Mmmm hard to say from one glimpse, but looks a little gangly even Crouch like. Thought our best players against a pretty mediocre performance were, Austin, Taylor and Cook immense talent that boy but needs to pick his head up to pick a team mate when in full flow. Thought Redders got the substitutions about right. And had Austin shot had gone in first half who knows, never mind onwards and Watford.

nr says tiredness do we play more games than others no young players but others do . is it the training then . if playing what twice a week one should be fit and not be tired .it's what one is paid for . like most I work 5 days plus 4hrs Saturday still went football training once a week played badminton twice a week plus club matches and county matches and played football sat/sun and once a mth badminton league sunday afternoon after football . is training different now we done road running sprints etc now perhaps to much time in gym hence lot more injuries things snap because of this I never pulled muscle or bits snapped perhaps lucky but I trained to be fit not for six pack just a thought not running team down picking up and a good place to start next year can see next year being great . did note nr said lots of strikers midfield a bit light . not balanced squad but no goal scorer at mo that's our big problem . still think if team gets two we can't win .hopefully top striker next year so two home games we need 6 points

We were tired last night and it showed. We missed Byram, but I think we have enough now to steer clear of the relegation places. We still have no plan B, but we all agreed Redders will keep us up. We didn't get the luck last night we had at Boro and Bamba can't have MOM performances every week. Brighton did their homework and nullified our formation. Here's to six points in our next two home games. Hopefully off the field shenanigans will be sorted early close season and we can push on next season.
