My player ratings so far this season.
BPF 5
Douglas 7
Ayling 6
Cooper 8
Beradi 8
Jansson 7
Phillips 6
Klich 8
Alioski 6
Hernandez 9
Saiz 7
Roofe 9
I've only chosen 12 as hard to call the subs.
Ayling started great but has gone off the boil a little as has Douglas. The keeper has done well in parts but has been responsible for at least four goals conceded and if Cooper or Beradi had done same they would be vilified. Klich as we all know has been a revelation this season as has Roofe. And Hernandez is the best player in the league.
Saiz could and should be the top player in the division however can be way off at times.
We have room to improve I just hope that we do.

rates seem fair enough, good point about the keeper in terms of if coops or beradi costs us 4/ 5 goals they would be jumped on. one slight harsh difference is the mistake by the keeper almost always leads to a goal.

I have been massively impressed with beradi this season escpailly against boroguh, however watch the game back at one point he gets a simple pass from five yards it slips under his foot and he fails to control it, honestly was a mistake i would not expect a ten year old to make, now i'm not jumping on beradi here. my point is that mistake was made no one noticed because it didn't matter and he was great that game, had BPF made a similar mistake borough would of scored.

personally i would just about drop BPF but comparing mistakes with fielders is harsh ( i say as goalies union) BFP has made five mistakes leading to five goals, a fielder to cost five goals would maybe have to make 20 mistakes.

Under 23s update!

I went to a very cold Bolton on. Monday night and we lost 2-0. Blackman in goal, couple of decent saves, distribution wasn't brilliant.

Baker, Pearce and Clarke played the first half and then were replaced with, Shackleton, Edmundson and Bobby Kamwa. Possibly, the first 5 only got a half because of involvement on Friday.

Baker was disappointing, I would have hoped at this level he could show his class.

Clarke did a bit but didn't have the impact or space I'd seen in earlier games.

Edmundson always impresses with his energy and determination, worked very hard and had a couple of decent chances.

Halme had another good game, tall, commanding and getting better coming forward. Good partnership with Diaz at centre half until Diaz lost the ball in a dangerous position and they scored.

Good to see Shackleton back for 45 mins as well, 1/ 2 fizzing runs.

Very similar to first team against Brum, poor first half, picked it up second half, enough chances, none taken, unbeaten record gone!

love your posts on u23 games they are appricaited interesting to see few got hooked due to possible first team commtitments, liking the sounds of Halme as worry cb in first team is thin in terms of cover. just realised you go to the games so not in spain (bit thick to just ralise) so how comes your name is spanish?

If you are ever around, often Monday’s, the games are really worth it. Nowadays usually 5/ 6 close or part of first team plans. You are really close to the action and you get a chance to see and hear Corberan and his coaching team.

I was born in Dewsbury and ended up in Spain, via, Blackpool, Nottingham, Ilford, Godstone, Woking and South America. Now back in UK and trying to work out what the future looks like!

Cheers Spanish. I'll be going to ER on Monday night to see the forest game. I'm expecting a weird atmosphere as ER will be mostly empty. Is it tickets from the ticket office? And which stand is the best?

Lucas, John Charles stand was the only part opened for the home game against Bristol, but that was 3pm during the week! You get tickets from the ticket office but you can sit where you want in the stand. It is weird but strangely easier to focus on the football and hear the coaching shouting because no crowd noise. Might see you there!

Actually lived in Lytham St Anne's! But we went out in Blackpool as you would and I grow up there, so yes I love it! Lots of people don’t but it’s in my blood! I lived between Valencia and Alicante, little orange town on the coast called Oliva, still got a place there! Not been to Cadiz but quite a few friends have been there and loved it!

Hernadez has family and is involved with Castellón, the club north of Valencia, I think he’s got a role in the club so has his dad. That’s where he probably wants to finish his career. Carlos Corberan is a Valencia boy as well.

Love Spain, Yorkshire pulls me back and my dad is getting on a bit, so thinking of staying, but the weather. last night I was f. freezing!

From what you're saying Spanish then we do not have too big a problem at CB. If Halme comes good then we have the 3 with the shirt at present plus O'Connor, Shaugnessy, Halme, (Struijk and Diaz waiting) . One, or more, is surely going to come good and thanks also for your U23 updates.

For anyone who can't get there, the official club face ache page regularly streams the first half for free, then the second half on the club app. 👍🏻.

Lytham is the really posh bit! St Anne’s in the middle but reasonable property prices in some parts for a sea side town and Blackpool well it’s Blackpool. Good Fun!

Preffered team for Wednesday:

BPF, Ayling, Jansson, Cooper, Douglas. Personally the best defence in the league but 3 of them carry cooper abit, he's gotten better under mb though. Holding should be Forshaw, klich in the middle with dallas and Harrison wide of him, then saiz just off Roberts. really like Roberts and think he could get 10 or so this year form substitutions and the time he's getting at the mo. Harrison another I really like, Hernandez will come straight back in no issues, and phillips I think just needs a rest, we look too much into the performances of phillips, cooper, etc, they'll play because they're the best we've got, are they good enough for promotion? ask again at Christmas, then radz will spend if he has to. top 4 at Christmas is an achievement for me.

my team would be similar but I would have alisko in for dallas, I can see arguments for both but for me Aloski is too dangerous to drop and his returns is too good, plus i have him in my fanatsy team! I would also bring in blackman. I know this is harsh on BPF and i think BPF has been good this year and improved and promising, however when a keeper let's in a few soft goals (i think he has let in maybe five he will be unhappy with) their confidence can be knocked, his mentallty might be better than this but few soft goals should give blackman a chance, not massivley in favour so again can see arguments either way. I also think baker should be given more time, maybe if we go a couple up rest saiz and give baker some game time as i like the lad.

Typical of the Football League to make us play 2 games in 3 days! 😂😂.

25 Sep 2018 14:18:17
Samo that's about the best of what we have at the moment. Overall still think we are a few short, 3 down the spine and a couple of wingers to get in behind with pace, we are edging ever closer!

Would start Phillips on bench and give Forshaw a crack at his position. Not sure how fit he is but would be interesting to see how he would fit in. Aylings form over last 2 or 3 games has concerned me needs to get back to his best. Think we are missing Berardi as he is more mobile than coops or pontus. Not sure if we need two big CBs they way we play. Roberts should start and if Roofe fit he is on the bench. Harrison definate Start Alioski but would have Clarke on bench to replace him if needed. Dallas for all his effort is on the bench at best. BPF or Blackman, would it help to swap goalies, not sure. My first thought was BPF needs benching making too many easy errors. Then again i guess he knows this himself and is Blackman any better overall. Leave that one to Bielsa.

25 Sep 2018 16:54:13
good point with beradi, i think he warrents his place back but who do we drop think both cooper and pontus have been very good.

interesting with harrison, i thought he was not very good against millwall as ineffective yet he scored, then alisko was poor against brum yet he scored while harrision was also apprently very poor against brum with very few touches and only one cross. Harrision was class against preston but then alioski got better returns on in terms of touches, goals and assists. I do wonder if there is that much difference between the two or if both places are under threat? I also hear dallas done well when on? maybe start both but let know clarke and dallas are breathing down their necks. maybe even roberts to wing if roofe fit? think wing will suit roberts better but not sure?

seen the goals from brum and they were poor, i think one lead to another in terms of BPF confience, he also let in few poor goals in pervious games. I am a big fan and been impressed but think he needs to be dropped, other keepers have been dropped for less, i like blackman from what i saw last season and think he needs a shout. interesting point on podcast with noel wealan saying if blackman ain't better than BFP then buck stops with management who should of brought in a better keeper to challange BFP if no faith in balckman, which i think is an interesting point even if i don't agree with it 100%.

Great post Bige although I’m not sure Forshaw can play the Phillips role. I always had him down in the Klich role but who knows, bielsa apart?
Good point about Ayling and I’d near put the two full backs the same not at their best.
