Has anyone seen the Ken Bates interview in the YEP about sacking Colin and Leeds?
Not a fan but made a lot of sense and answered some questions about star player departures.

Bradley Johnson and becchio both claimed he was lying. And what I don't get is why did bates stop investing in the club after 2006 properly as he spent 3 million on two players in 2005 and ever since its all been freebees and loans. If he invested that sort of money in the summer and in January and only selling half of the star players then we would have been in the premier league with bates being a lot more wealthy and a lot more respected and well known

He spent the last of our parachute payment money from the prem, but didn't spend any of his own. I think he's done his time now, as has Warnock, and all the others. let's confine them to the past, and back Maccy D for the future.

The parachute money ran out!Bates didn't spend any of his own cash!If you recall the majority of the players that were signed (Hulse Blake etc)were quickly sold on thereafter!

i don't think he will look average. I think every team in the championship probably wants byram in there team.
defo snap there hands off if we get offered 8 million + to be fair as long as that money goes towards players.

Money isn't everything. a good player is worth more to us than 10 million; promotion.

Karma (or something). Ken Bates' last home game against Brighton tomorrow. His first home game was also against Brighton all those years ago.

Bates IS NOT LEAVING Leeds, he is to become president?

He is also reported to have stated (about Becchio) "Even the thickest Leeds fan must see we can’t afford to pay a player £30,000 per week. "

And yet people still wonder why we continue to boycott Elland Road because of HIM and HIM alone?

I didn't say he was leaving Leeds. I was just pointing out the strangeness of fixtures. I'm not interested in Becchio's salary (he has gone). I'm just saying how weird that Ken Bates arrives and we are playing Brighton and the guard is changed and lo and behold we are playing Brighton once more.

Get over Bates, you would still be coming if we were up challenging and not mid table. Get off your arse and support the team. We need you mate.

On the other hand, when did he EVER bring Leeds reputation into doubt or even disrepute? When did he ever libel and slander people and use the club funds to pay for it?

there is no way Bates would EVER become president if it were down to the fans, he has proposed and elected himself, full stop.

Some of us have supported Leeds for over 40 years (and more) and once Bates is gone we will be the FIRST in line for season tickets.

Bates represents everything that has gone wrong at leeds, even if he wasn't the initial cause of it.

All the guys playing for Norwich are starting to bear testimony to the lies that Bates comes out with, and personally I don't blame them for looking after their own interests.

. much like Bates has done at our expense?

Were the fans asked when Lord Hailwood was made President? that will be NO. We support the team, not the President, if you don't want to and use that as an excuse, go and support another team. I will give my full support to the Manager and the team, I don't give a F*** who is president.
Bates is a non entity and always will be, its people coming on here using him as an excuse for not coming I hate as much as him.
Lets just ignore him and treat him with the contempt he treats us, but please come back we need you more than ever now.
