From a very reliable source I heard Leeds are going to get a new home & away kit next season! {Ed020's Note - new home kit, the away kits till 2013}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Thats why Bates is selling them at 50% discount to cash in before people realise Gj

Davie Weir left RANGERS last week to persue his playing career in England , ticks all the boxes experienced , Free and only 41

Believable0 Unbelievable5

Future top manager, but playing is ridiculous if i'm honest.

Agree2 Disagree1

Are you taking the piss?

Agree3 Disagree0

Quite funny...shame hes experienced though

Agree1 Disagree0

Do you not remember paul telfer? we dont need another fossil

Agree0 Disagree0

This was posted last week he is not experienced yet so wise up and post worthwhile comments.

Agree1 Disagree0

As a defensive coach I'd have him.

I heard from a fair few sources within the club that Alan Smith was to sign a pay as you play deal today, yet it has failed to materialise, goes to show that no one within the club bar Grayson, Bates & Harvey really know our transfer dealings.

Crawley sign Sanchez Watt 'til the end of the season. Now that's a club with ambition, buying a bit of talent from the higher leagues. KB take note!

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Are you being serious?

Agree1 Disagree0

Sanchez Watt isn't, never was, and never will be good in the championship. Poor player I think. Can't understand this obsession with him {Ed020's Note - league 1 player at best, never really stood out for me}

Agree1 Disagree3

He's on loan not bought him!

Agree1 Disagree0

Think he is a free agent at end of season

Ally McCoist said to be keen to offer Enar Jääger a deal at Ibrox. It could hit a stumbling block if McCoist fails to shift players off his wage bill. Leeds monitoring the situation closely and may offer a contract close to deadline day.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Are you his agent?

Agree1 Disagree1

26 Jan 2012 21:16:51
Do you think we will ever get howson back?

Believable4 Unbelievable5

When he's 32 and in the Norwich reserves due to a horrific injury that's seen him lose all his pace yet fans will still want him back even though he will never be the same player again, hm how familiar that sounds

Agree2 Disagree0

Smiths 30 so thats that ideology out the window

Agree1 Disagree0

For god sake ...hes no David Batty/Alan Smith

Loans Loans Loans are not assets of the club.

This is true but if an agreement to buy is attached, you can really assess them before you buy. ie gradel!

Could be an interesting last day of the window!

five days left and then thats when leeds will start doing buisness in the emergency loan window just you wait and see

Believable5 Unbelievable3

No matter now much bs comes from the mouths of SG & KB there will be no new signings just the usual tales of the ones that got away - and I have been Leeds for 45 years

Breaking News, Call the Press Conference, Alan Smith has NOT Signed for Leeds Utd.....

Believable3 Unbelievable2

26 Jan 2012 19:46:06
sorry to bring up the jonny thing again, but just watched his two part interview on LUTV's we are Leeds. He seemed geniuenly emotional and very reflective on his time at leeds. He also said he definately wants to some back one day. All the best, you are a credit to Leeds ure family and Morley. MOT

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Good comment , leeds could easy get promoted if we go out and spend 8 mil on players this season

Agree2 Disagree0

26 Jan 2012 19:43:32
I would take the 6m,think about it if we keep him we are still gonna be playing our football in the championship and next year when his contract runs out sell him for 2m.promotion will not be achieved this year with him anyway and we are delaying the inevitable by keeping him,the longer we keep him the less he's worth so get 6m and try and buy another goalscoring winger like ambrose from palace.

Believable3 Unbelievable4

Hell lets just sell anyone with a bit of talent at our club. (and put the proceeds into a joint wage/transfer fee pot - not a transfer fee only pot!) So, sell Snoddy for 6, get 3mill at the most back on transfer fee to spend. no thanks, keep our very best players i say.

Agree7 Disagree0

Ok keep him sell him next season for 2 and have nothing in the transfer kitty that makes sense doesn't it

Agree0 Disagree6

26 Jan 2012 19:39:55
If Snoddy goes, so do I.....

Having supported Leeds for over 40 years I can take anything, but if we let Snodgrass go for ANY amount of mpney to ANY other team, I will be walking.

Grayson and Bates have said this woon'y happen, unless 'silly' money comes in?

20 Million I might accept, 4 million is just a total joke...

Believable4 Unbelievable1

They class 6 mil as silly money as its alot more than we paid for him

Agree3 Disagree0

Please help me with all these doom harbingers. Leeds have sold better players than Snodgrass, and still survived. Those of us who are loyal supporters will take it on the chin and march on. If you are a Snodgrass supporter rather than a Leeds supporter, you can follow whatever team he goes to, the rest of us will still support Leeds. {Ed013's Note - I don't know what the outcome will be but I know SG and KB have both said that Snoddy and Clayton are not for sale. However I do believe that everyone has a price so who knows, but your right, no one is bigger than the club}

Agree6 Disagree2

Take the 6 but only if we spend it all

Agree3 Disagree2

Thats the problem if we sell snoddy bates will not spend the money only pocket it

Agree4 Disagree0

6 million would be too good to turn down, but if these bids are true we must be ready to get a replacement. There are 5 days left! If Snoddy goes on the last day we're shafted

My mate works at elland road and they are buying a talented japanese player called Shota Suzaki which is known as one of the hottest prospects in Japan.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

No u got it wrong papa smurf is looking at a shogun for larry and a suzuki for snodin !! mot !!

Agree1 Disagree1

Yeah would be a great signing! 27 years old, 60 appearances in 8 seasons in the J League with a magnificent 3 goals! What a hot prospect. Oh and it is Shota Suzuki btw.

26 Jan 2012 19:01:36
What have we actually got to make sh this year after falling apart after xmas last year. Well we have signed an old second or third string goalie for free, a Spurs "starlet" who has been on loan for 7 different teams over the last 3 years including Yeovil, and of course a great albeit unfit former favourite on loan for 28days. Seems like no lessons have been learned from last year and not much chance of improving this year.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Dont forget a unproven yank

Agree2 Disagree2

Unproven? He's a US international and their national team has come a long way over the last 20 years - a decent performance at most of the world cups since they hosted it.

So much negativity...

Agree4 Disagree1

Leeds always have a blip xmas time weather it be before or after ,dont worry about it i expect us to finish in top 6 as i have faith.i cant see west ham been caught by us now but we could still get 2nd spot

Clint Dempsey was unproven when Fulham brought him over.

It's what a few of us on here have been saying - keep the Bates Out stuff out of the games. just seen dom matteo piece in YEP, cant believe whats written frankly. players get paid alot of money, footballers shouldnt need the crowd behind them constantly, to give 100%. not the fans of any clubs fault if the players arent 'getting on the ball'. when they've been not quite at it over the last few seasons, we've lifted them. well we're not quite enthused at the moment, so someone needs to lift us!! bates out

Believable3 Unbelievable6

Absolute drivel. I've played football at a modest level (Leeds University first team, Saturday morning leagues) and even a small crowd of a couple of hundred on your back can be very distracting. You know absolutely nothing about playing professional football in front of a large number of people and to suggest you know better than an ex professional who has played with two of the greatest clubs in Europe is not only stupid, it's monumentally arrogant.

Simple question please: Is Alan Smith signing for us or not this January, there must be people on this site that have some "genuine" connections not just, " i know Ken Dodds Dads Dog" and he says from a reliable source etc etc... cheers.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Yes Alan smith is signing, i have just seen him im sports direct buying a new pair of boots with a £20 gift voucher off Mike Ashley

Agree7 Disagree1

Smith has allready signed, it wil be announced on Monday 100%

Agree2 Disagree5

Can only repeat what i was told at the weekend that he had agreed a pay as you play deal.....would have expected of have thought iwe would have heard something by now though...

If every player who was 'signing 100%' on this site had actually signed we'd have a wage bill the size of the US national debt...

Where do people find these rumours? Do people just simply make them up? Do they sign a player on FIFA and automatically think they are quality players? About 50 names have been mentioned on here with no source.

I think the players name, the source of which the info has come from and for bonus points a link or picture should be added otherwise just don't bother you are just another pointless post

According to wiki : On 25 January 2012 Jermaine Beckford had a massive fall-out with manager Nigel Pearson which ended up with the striker cancelling his current contract. Jermaine is expected to re-sign for Leeds United before the end of the current transfer window.

Have it from a very good source that Harry Redknapp's dog Rosie is looking to make an investment in Football from her Monaco based accounts. She has contacted KB directly with a view to becoming a silent partner as she doesnt wish to travel regularly from her Dorset home- 'let sleeping dogs lie'. There is a small chance she will replace Peter Lorimer on the board though Anyway, this may result in increased transfer funs for Simon's pot in the remainder of the January window.

Believable9 Unbelievable1

Well the defence is like a dogs hind leg most of the time

Thoughts please....

My lad who is 7 in may as just been spoted by a scout at leeds and they are intrested in inviting him up to TA, but i am in two minds. On one hand i think it would help is delevopment but on the other don't want is heart breaking when/if he does not make it. i spoke to another perant who's lad was droped last seanson after been with the academy fo 6 years he was gutted.

Vaey hard to decied what to do for the best.

By the way we are from leeds and all leeds fans ( well the wifes a Liverpool fan ) but i told her to forget it.

MOT {Ed001's Note - isn't it better to try and fail than have him spend his life wondering what could have been?}

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Get him in, playing for Leeds should be a privelage at whatever level.
We're also a big enough club that if he doesn't make it here, just the fact that he played in our academy should open some doors to him at a lower level.

Agree5 Disagree1

You said it edd hit the nail on the head! better to try and fail than to never to try at all! irish leeds fan

Agree2 Disagree1

Agree with Ed, give your lad the chance but build him as a person so he is prepard if the worst does happen good luck he could be a future legend you never know MoT

Agree0 Disagree1

It may be an obvious question, but What does your lad want to do?

Personally I think it's a great opportunity but as a Dad myself, I'm sure you'd not want to put any pressure on him and rather him enjoy his football.

Agree1 Disagree1

If he doesn't try, he may come to regret it in later life. seems like an opportunity too good to miss.

Agree1 Disagree1

Get him in there. SG will probably have him in the team by the end of the season and can boast to the press about the exciting new player he has got in before the close of the window!

Agree1 Disagree0

Let him try it, if he enjoys it and fits in with his new team mates jobs a good un... (I had that all be it at rugby, I was dropped by Bfd Bulls but ended up at Keighley C for a good few years)

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely, you have to let him have a go (I bet he is dead keen) - just encourage him all the way but explain to him that only a small number of lads make it. Kids are really resiliant and whilst there will be tears if he cannot cut it he will surely get over it if you are there for him - good luck.

Agree2 Disagree0

The Academy is still in a right mess! It lacks both resources & know-how!
There are better places like Burnley or Blackburn, but don't waste your time even contemplating Bradford City!

Agree0 Disagree2

Get him up, could use simons pot to bring him in, will be starting next tues!

Agree1 Disagree0

My lad goes and he's not 7 until April

Agree1 Disagree0

Let him go to the academy and whilst there you could take English lessons to improve your grammar. That post is attrocious.

Agree1 Disagree1

If he is a defender, will sign for nothing, expects very little per week then we are the clu for you. on a serious note my best friend at school was at leeds and got dropped at 16. he went on to play a decent standard of footall and did i mention the free tickets to matches (i once had a wee next to mervyn day in full kit just before kick off)

Agree0 Disagree0

I played for Huddersfield between ages of 9 and 13 and was distraught when I was released, least I never had to wear my Leeds shirt under theirs anymore though haha.

The full text of the Bates interview can be found here:

www.thesquareball.net/what-ken-said/2012/01/25/leeds-united-for-sale/

He as good as says there might be noone in til the summer and says we'll need to offload players before we bring them in (and of course noone wants any of the players we don't want so where do you go from there?)

Believable2 Unbelievable3

I have a very low opinion of Bates but no-one is wrong all the time and his comments about the nervousness of our players at home is spot on. We're stuck with him until a buyer is found so let's focus on supporting the team. The team should be embarrassed about its recent performances and we, the fans, should be embarrassed about some of our recent performances during the games. Keep the protests outside the ground...

Agree5 Disagree1

Its easy solved ,to move the players on you could just terminate contracts but that would cost a settlement figure so what we need to do is transfer list the players for half price or even less for a quick sell at least there would be some money coming in and the wage budget would be cut.

Agree1 Disagree0

Why call it Leeds United For Sale - a very misleading title.
