Lonergan
Lichaj Kilgallon Lees Pugh
Clingan
Snoddy White
Andrews Clayton
Sharp

Subs:
McCormack
Kisnorbo
McCarthy (for now)
Howson
Nunez

Looks a good side, and not that unrealistic really,

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Hmmm Andrews has very high wages.

Agree1 Disagree1

Good side Billy Sharp will be a good signing if he joins

Agree1 Disagree0

I would have howson in instead of andrews

Agree1 Disagree0

Keith andrews has nothing on howson.

In my opinion surely our scouts should have been monitoring potential transfer targets this last few months in England, Scotland, Europe and any where else me may pick up a good deal. With that said, then surely if we have definate targets then we should be looking at swapping paperwork and announcing the new signings on Jan 1st. If we had ambition for the Prem then this would happen, look at West Ham, 25 targets! In the paper this morning we have 2 targets, on loan! please dont tell me thats not Pugh and Keogh extending till the end ot the season and thats our buisiness done! Yes I know the papers are full of s**t alot of the time but having what ive said I bet we leave any signings till transfer deadline day where that will be another month gone by and probably us out of the promotion race. Lets hope im wrong as I keep throwing my money into Leeds and in the next few weeks Mr Bates will be sending me my season ticket renewel forms so come on Leeds lets pull summet out of the bag and prove that we deserve to go up cos if we dont then all the doom and gloom merchants on here will get their wish and another waste of space Chelsea sc***er will be in charge in Zola or Di Matteo or any other yes man that the merry go round will give us. Please prove me wrong Leeds and lets hope this is another xmas blip! I cant be doing with losing to the Dingles again!!

Lets keep the faith Leeds faithfull and pray for a fantastic 2012.

As a die hard leeds fan from a small child it breaks me in half 2 see whats happening, in grayson we trust if we want to play the likes of posh, bristol city, doncaster, derby etc every week. We need 4-5 new, good players, id love 2 see david batty as leeds boss! Legend!

Believable2 Unbelievable8

Legends dont make great managers at leeds over the years what LEGENDS of ours have made great managers of our club ? let me think gray=no bremner =no clark=no gray again = no macallister=no so wise up on your legends theory who next donkey deane?lump of wood pearson ? ffs!

Agree1 Disagree0

Batty has publicly stated that he doesn't even like football now he's not playing. Doesn't watch it on the telly, no interest at all. A really silly suggestion.

Darren Gibson to sign on loan.

Believable3 Unbelievable11

27 Dec 2011 20:19:32
If Grayson does go then Bates will bring in another yes man. Won't target a top manager because he might start asking for money to buy the players he wants. Instead of which Bates will restrict resources and we will end up picking up the dregs at the end of the transfer window on loan. We have yet to bring in a loan player who has been a rip roaring sucess. Can't see the club going anywhere while Bates is in charge. Hope I'm wrong !

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I agree, however Gradel was a loan signing!

Agree2 Disagree0

Lichaj, keough and gradel

I think we should all get behind simon and the lads right now, they are playing with very little confidence and its simons job to sort it out,and with the backing of the chairman, players and fans sort it he will.Everybody true leeds fan knows simon is going to get till the end of the season or at least until its mathematically impossible to reach play offs, and I for one applaud ken bates for giving him the time,we need stability and cash in Jan to sort this out,if we reach play offs anything can happen.people were saying leicester and west ham would run away with this league and not forgetting ipswich,so is simon doing such a bad job no so quit speculating on the next manager and concentrate on getting this club we love back where it belongs the premiership, because Simon is going nowhere at least in the short term good luck simon on the task ahead.

I hope everyone soon realises when january opens that we will end up signing young kids from premier league on loan instead of doing this we should give our young guns a chance to shine i mean the lad charlie taylor cant be bad if we give him a 3 year contract in summer wouldnt mind seen him playing left side of midfield and his first game set up a goal for ross with aidy white at lb also the lad poleon who scores goals for fun in both academy and reserve team matches should get his chance now cos we have no out and out pace up front

Believable4 Unbelievable3

I'll tell you what will happen, nothing at all for the first 30 days then on the last day we will get some has-beens, then larry will say the players we targeted we couldn't get for whatever reason and so on and so on.

Agree5 Disagree1

Apparently a film is being made about LUFC and Grayson - it is called "Groundhog Season".

27 Dec 2011 18:10:52
If Grayson does stay on,we need new backroom staff, our coaches aint that great

Believable5 Unbelievable0

We'd become a much better team if we did get rid of snodin and miller

27 Dec 2011 18:09:34
Grayson has had virtually no money to spend
and we are in the top half of the league
We are missing both Gradel and Becchio's goals this season,if we had that we would have probably been 3rd this season

Bates back the manager in January with proper money or sack him,and give the new manager plently of coin to spend

You can not expect us to get promoted if you dont give Grayson the cash to spend

Master bates really does p me off

Believable3 Unbelievable7

This is just my opinion so shoot me down due to the fact that rumour has it that if we go up this season mr bates will have to pay some kind of levy for our past finiancial problems but if we dnt and go up next season we dnt have to pay anything i think all this talk is a smoke screen between larry and bates i think their intention is to stay where we are for this season hence no big money players or salaries until this levy date has pasted why dnt they be honest and say that so we can just get behind team and stop all this doom and gloom !! mot

Agree0 Disagree4

I would not give Grayson a quid to spend, as he has proved time and time again that he has very poor judgement when selecting players. If he is given any real dough he will buy someone and then never pick them!

Sure to get some stick, but Paul Scholes would make a good player manager,

Believable0 Unbelievable9

Think hes doing punditry rather than coaching, not sure

Agree0 Disagree1

On what evidence do you say that? Record in management? 0 wins, 0 draws, 0 defeats. Total games in charge - 0.

Agree7 Disagree0

Every manager has that record at the start..

Agree2 Disagree2

But why take the risk? Statistically he's more likely to be poor than good and he wouldn't exactly be a popular choice in the Kop.

I wouldn't have a problem with any ex Man U or Chelsea player coming in to manage us because I'm 50 and I'd like to think that I have some perspective, unlike a lot of the people on this site, but I wouldn't want to see us bring in a high-risk, inexperienced manager with half the crowd hostile to him before his team had even kicked a ball.

Can't see that having a happy ending somehow...

Agree5 Disagree0

Is this an April fool?

Agree3 Disagree1

Paul Scholes? The most ridiculous idea I've ever heard of! Get a grip!

27 Dec 2011 18:05:39
I really cannot see papa smurf spending in january it will be the same excuses as usual we cant afford there wages or the transfer fee when clearly he should have money burning an hole in his pocket to give to the manager after selling all are best assets for half there price there worth

Believable4 Unbelievable1

27 Dec 2011 17:59:07
come on people Graysons no Guardiola/Mourinho/AVB but the stick hes got off some of these people on here is absolutely disgraceful, give the poor guy a break, its down to the players and their poor performances on the pitch, once they step over the white line, its all up to them

Believable3 Unbelievable10

The majority of people who post on here agree it is time for SG to go away and cease driving this club further and further away from the PL.

Agree8 Disagree2

I'm not sure we can take the majority opinion too seriously.

The majority of people on here can't spell, can't punctuate a sentence correctly and can barely string together an articulate, syntactically correct sentence.

The majority also seem to be under the illusion that Leeds United is still a big club and that the world's best managers are queuing up to fight for the vacant post when Bates sacks Grayson.

The majority also seem to have a very poor medium term memory and seem to think that all our problems will be solved overnight by changing the manager and/or spending a few quid on players.

The majority seem to think that players should stay and play for Leeds because we're so massive despite being offered loads more money to play in the premiership.

Perhaps I could have been more succinct. The majority on here are pretty thick...

Agree4 Disagree3

Hold on he got us promoted to this level surely that meant he drove us closer to it?

Agree1 Disagree0

Yeah he did, but now he's turned off the main road and is driving the wrong way down a side street to Midtable Obscurity!

Agree1 Disagree1

27 Dec 2011 15:48:49
Marc robins next manager!

Believable0 Unbelievable5

Why? Resigned from his last job after not doing particularly well and falling out with the board. Think he'll last long with Ken? Think again...

Agree1 Disagree2

My mates a Barnsley fan he reckons he was there best manager for years I know he left cos of lack of funds but surely bates can cough up more pennies than that tiny club!

I would like to see in the team if we had that 11 m
beckford 1.5m
gradel 2m
maynard 1m
tomkins 1.5
noble 2.5m
rest on a rb

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Beckford & Gradel? The same Beckford & Gradel who wanted to move to bigger clubs because we weren't good enough for them? Not so sure about that mate...

Agree4 Disagree0

They wanted more money after we made them who they are, and its gone tits up for the pair of them

Agree2 Disagree0

Where the hell are we gonna find 11 million mate? Back to footy manager for u

27 Dec 2011 14:42:26
I wonder if any of our former players would come back to club in coaching roles they cant be any worse than snodin and miller the likes of garry mccalister lucas radebe dom matteo gary kelly in my opinion any of these would be a good shout we need someone from outside to come in with different ideas

Believable3 Unbelievable3

What is this insane fixation that some people have with players from our past? Either as managers (like this) or as returning players (Smith, Kilgallon etc.)

Allan Clarke, Eddie Gray, Gary McAllister, even Billy Bremner, the greatest player ever at ER, have FAILED as managers/coaches at LUFC. A great player does not necessarily make a great manager or coach, even if they played well for us. Don Revie was the only real exception.

Stop living in the past, get with the present and look to the future.

Agree7 Disagree1

Sorry, but the past is better. If i could i would get in a time machine today and move back to 1997 and relieve the whole thing again (music was better, football was better, cars were better, everything was better).First, I'd walk into Elland Road and hand them a list of all the great youngsters and players of today and then we would never have got into debt and we'd have been the best team in the world for years. Second, I'd wait for the music to get good and hit the pop scene again.
however, this is rather a pointless topic as this cannot happen (well without a 'body' that can orbit the planet at faster than the speed of light). Instead lets sign:
1) Alan Smith Player/Coach
2) Erik Bakke Player
3) Ian Harte Player
4) Paul Robinson Player
5) Nigel Martyn GK coach
6) Matt Kilgallon Player
7) Vinnie Jones Coach
8) David Batty Coach
9) Stephen McPhail Player
10) Mark Viduka Coach
11) S Club 7 (need some match day entertainment)

We might have a chance then

Agree1 Disagree1

I'm assuming the last post was meant to be funny but I'll suspend disbelief, get in the time machine and go with it for now. Except...can we have some of the great acts who I saw at V97 at Temple Newsam? Beck, Prodigy, Foo Fighters... Don't remember S Club 7 being considered entertaining by anyone over the age of 4...

Agree2 Disagree0

Completely agree mate. Get back proven players that can sort this fookin team out!

Agree1 Disagree2

Wallace Arnold have a good coach.

Now is defo the time for grayson to go the man cant even come out after games and be honest to the fans all he does his keep saying were gonna work on the training ground i wonder what are players actually do at thorp arch apart from look at someone else to blame time to go larry and take snodin and miller with u cos there much help arnt they

Believable6 Unbelievable1

27 Dec 2011 14:20:06
Grayson out its as simple as that yes he is a leeds fan that doesnt mean he is a good manager he is running ideas he just makes excuses up all the time id like to see any of these replace him steve bruce owen coyle roberto di matteo gus poyet karl robinson

Believable6 Unbelievable2

Not one of those managers has a better record than Grayson. Owen Coyle - 2nd bottom of the premiership with a decent squad. Bruce, sacked before he could get Sunderland relegated. Poyet has big funds to spend to add his already expensive squad and his team is in free fall right now. Robinson has done no more that Grayson, and has failed to reach the Championship. Di Matteo maybe - the rest are a waste of space.

Agree3 Disagree1

Not Steve Bruce - he hasn't exactly been successful has he and he would offend the "no ex mancs" brigade on here

Agree4 Disagree2

Suppose the same was said about Danny Wilson of Sheff Utd who all said this guy is a disgrace of a Manager - - - guess what they are 2nd in Simon Grayson's Mickey Mouse league now he is the messiah - Grayson out...!

Agree5 Disagree2

27 Dec 2011 14:16:03
Ive said it before and i will say it again leeds united will not get promoted or in the play offs this season until the management of grayson snodin and miller leave i mean what the hell does he actually do except sit in the stands and then when where getting a chasing in games he trotts down and starts mumbling s**te like usual

Believable8 Unbelievable2

I've always supported Grayson, but when his team are bickering amongst themselves instead of working together as a unit then I can't help feeling he has lost the dressing room and respect of the players and now needs to go. Once that's gone then for me there's nothing left going for him and lets face it the signings he has made are pants. Once again we are overloaded with mediocre players and have to let players go before any can come in. I mean its like ground hog day over and over each transfer window. Paul Lambert anyone? He's a manager who has worked wonders and they are giving the prem sides a run for their money.

Agree3 Disagree0

There we go again with delusional suggestions. Paul Lambert is managing a club with money in the Premiership.

Oh sorry, I forgot, we're a MASSIVE CLUB so he's bound to want to come and manage Leeds on a fraction of his current premiership salary and he's so good he'll turn the team round despite having no player/wages budget to work with.

Sorry - just woken up again - that's not happening.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry to say but yes I guess I am dreaming about Paul Lambert. And YES Leeds are a bigger club than the Swansea's and Norwich's. I am looking at the bigger picture because he's a manager with credentials of being able to get a club from league one into the Premiership. Yes he maybe on bigger wages and have more money to play with at present, BUT if he gets Leeds into the Premiership this season then your not telling me that we once again won't be a BIG club that we were before. Who would most managers manage in the Premier league if the choice was Leeds or Norwich? What's that I hear you say LEEDS....that's correct, because when we do get back there then and only then will decent players want to come and play for us and Managers of the Blackburns, Wolves, Boltons & Norwich want to manage us. So I'm not so stupid as to look at the bigger picture. Yes it would be a step down for a premiership manager to come to us at the moment, but look how he got Norwich out of this league, he signed the likes of Grant Holt & Simeon Jackson etc from league 2. So if you ask me he knows how to work on a low budget, has an eye for a player and also get the best out of them as well. Sorry but I'm not so delusional am I??

Agree3 Disagree2

27 Dec 2011 14:09:57
Nicky montgomery anyone the holding midfielder we have been crying out for doubt we could even afford his wages

I have to laugh at some of the posts on here.especially the idiots who slag of posts when after all it's only an opinion.most people saying to shut up nothing is wrong and we are only a point from play offs, haha, there the idiots.simple to me,3 to to 4 decent quality signings, and I don't mean buck Rogers from USA or whatever his name is.if not it's mid table,Grayson will lose his job,the only couple of decent players we have will leave, some other stooge will come in and we will go through all this next year.for bates to say Grayson will be out if not in play offs is wrong.if he supports him in transfer market then ok but doesn't look like it.I think 1 point out of next 2 games is what we will get.it could be bit late. By mid Jan

Another 400 mile round trip to watch a load of rubbish yesterday. SG is kiddding himself if he thinks we played well yesterday & he needs to be honest with himself & accept some of the players are not good enough & it is time to get players in who want to play for Leeds.
We have had too many loan signings over the years (this is only a short term solution), what does a loan signing care if he doesn't live up to the fans/clubs expectations (how many players have we had on loan in the last 5 years & how many have we actually signed permanently).

Pugh looks solid, Keogh added another dimension when he came on (lets sign them in January permanently). Brown is a spoiler, not a player that can change a game in our favour (SG dropped a brick there by signing him)

Why is everyone knocking Grayson, Bates is the man in charge & if everyone is right in saying Bates only employs people that he can control then how can it be SG's fought.

We are not to far away from the top six to kick on like the teams around us who will spend money to kick on we need to spend some money & have players that want to play for Leeds.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

I think brown was signed for that reason.

Agree2 Disagree0

Every team needs a spoiler. Even the Barcas of this world need someone to break up the opponents play in their own half. And it's not like we have the players to pass other teams off the park now is it?

Brown added something to the team until Howson got injured - and it's interesting to see how quiet the anti-Howson brigade on here have gone now that they can see how much we're missing him.

The problem as I see it is a lack of depth. One or two injuries and we go from 4-0 at Forest to losing to Derby. We need competition for places so that the likes of Snoddy stop being lazy and complacent.

My one big criticism of Grayson is his tendency to stick with the same team but to be fair to him his options are pretty limited.

Agree1 Disagree1

400 miles? Jesus where did you come from? Europe?
