well I bet all you anti cellino fans are looking pretty sheepish right now "OMG he's a crook can't have him near our dearest club" come off it! now who hear 6th months ago would say now we would have england international keeper plus conner wickam in our team now we have the best strike force in the championship in my opinion let's hope to god they get the service as some of you already pointed out stick connor and smith up front with ross behind front two may work soon find out!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Stick Smith up front so we can lump the long ball up, its FOOTBALL we want to be playing (pass-move into space-pass) its not rocket science. When Smiths on the pitch its route 1 ;(

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes Andy I agree it's football I want not HOOFBALL, Leeds United are a football club, it's the Rhinos if you want to see boing punts up field.

I was at the St James Park game against Newcastle when Quinny scored four against us on his debut, upsetting we lost but we went away with our heads high because we played football. And the best team by a country mile lost that day even though my Geordie friends will disagree.

Viduka scoring four an giants Liverpool, we came back to win from two nowt down by playing football.

Southampton 3 Leeds 4; three nowt down and playing crap at half time, we got a couple of goals back and you could visible see and feel the confidence change and lift in our players, magic man, sheer magic. Then Gary Kelly just hits a beauty from 20+ yards out - GOAL, what a game, I love Leeds United me!
(And our lass of course ;) )

Agree0 Disagree0

Love the nostalgia and totally embrace it . But on that score do you remember Lee Chapman . Scored the winning goal at Bournemouth that promoted us, then scored enough goals to win us the title in the top tier . Having a big man up front only means hoofball if goofball is the only way the manager can bring a big forward into the game . If he has no plan B then questions must be asked!

Agree0 Disagree0

Northumberland White.
OMG you poked a stick in my memory when you mentioned Quinny in Newcastle match. I was there that day and at the end of the match looked round at my mate and said."bloody brilliant, we're going to win the league. We were excellent".he laughed

All I saw was Leeds playing some excellent attacking football and John McClelland helping fat Quinny score goals at the other end

Thank you for that trip down memory lane

Where would we be without Cellino? Showing the most commitment we have ever seen, even back to the old days when the Don had no money either. Must be backed, it may be a ride, but I am looking forward to it. Two class signings, and if TO not ratified, I think we can look into plenty more. Portsmouth anyone. etc

OPEN INVITATION TO THE FL!

Now that Cellino has shown his sincerity in taking over Leeds by paying the team wages for a second month and providing the money to loan two premier league players why are you STILL unable to back this takeover?

You allowed Ken Bates to buy Leeds, despite all the money problems he had and caused Leeds, and you allowed GFH to take Leeds over from Bates, despite them now having borrowed money from any available source to try and survive?

If you have a serious problem in somebody WITH the available funds to finance Leeds United for the next few years, PROVEN by 20 years ownership of a Serie A team in Italy, then either PUT UP or SHUT UP?

We all KNOW from past experiences that you HATE Leeds United and will do whatever it takes to keep us down, even making up rules to suit yourselves and the retrospectively adopt them to suit yourselves!

We are Leeds and we always will be. Whatever you do or say or penalise us for doesn't matter. Leeds United will be around long after you hypocrites are no longer here!

Leeds4alongtime (and a lot more to come!)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yep. That should Keep the wheels running smoothly. JD

Agree0 Disagree0

Well, since the announcement of the takeover and the speculation about Cellinos track record, the FL were always going to dot every I and cross every t. The eyes of everyone inside and outside football are on them so they are going through it with a fine tooth. If there is a problem with GFH then can't see it affecting Cellino as the FL had sanctioned them. I have a feeling this will be done and dusted by March 13th.

I doubt we will get out of this division without a Vinny, Strachan or Batty type player. Youth is great but we need an experienced battler in midfield. History proves this

extract from GFH yearly statement.
Highlights for 2013 included the acquisition of a new prime central London residential
building
where the Bank expects above average capital appreciation and returns over the
medium term and which was oversubscribed by investors.
Notably, the year also saw the
successful signing for the sale of a 75% stake in Leeds United Football Club to a strategic
investor. The sale, currently awaiting the
English Football League's final approval, will also
support value creation at Leeds to ensure strong future returns on this investment

my question is does the longer GFH DELAY the sale to cellino by withholding certain documentation from the FL, WE KNOW Cellino is paying wages, buying players, is this simply a ploy to boost their profits. because their profits for last year were a miserly 6 million dollars.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The question is why the f**k are the FL not just approving the takeover as they should only be interested in the buyer, NOT the seller?

The FL have already (allegedly) approved GFH as 'fit and proper' or are they expecting some backhanders, etc?

Can't think of any other reason why this isn't already done and dusted?

Cellinoe has already proved his sincerity to me with the wages payments and the fact we now have two premier league players in on loan?

Who else has invested this sort of money in the club, despite not even being in charge of it??

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Feb 2014 12:51:03
seems like the cellino takeover delay is actually down to gfh not submitting all required info, bit weird. mot

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It is weird, GFH are outgoing so why the delay, would appear all is well with Cellinos application haing supplied what the FL asked for, hopefully its sorted well before the 13 March, c'mon GFH, GET YOUR FINGER OUT,

Agree0 Disagree0

This is beyond belief now, the FL are now delaying the takeover because the SELLER hasn't provided documentation that the FL must ALREADY have seen at the last takeover?

If not, then why the hell did they sanction the Bates/GFH takeover?

This stinks of corruption and backhanders, and I hope Cellino starts legal proceedings against the FL as they are obviously not 'fit and proper' to run the League?

im thinking brian should go back for the diamond he originally started with. We now have stewart &kebe for the width, smith & wickham upfront, rudi holding, and ROSS playin behind the strikers in a free role position. QPR are shaking at moment, there for the taking C'MON LEEEEEEEEDS

Got a good feeling about the qpr game. Got a strong feeling that if we can start off quickly, we could have a good game. Start with wickham & smith upfront (McCormack in his free-role position) and maybe kebe & stewart could have a good game!theyre not bad players, need confidence and they'll shine! MOT

I'm going to put it out there, and I know I will get slated as its negative football but if we played Smith and Wickham with Ross just behind no defence in this league could cope IMO.

The physical presence of Wickham and Smith would scare a lot of defences and being so occupied this free's Ross up to do what we know he can do.

The reason I am thinking like this is simply because we have no quality central midfielder, so I could see Ross taking up an attacking midfielder/supporting striker role, where he is likely to get more time on the ball, especially now we have Wickham, whose finishing is a lot better than Smiths.

The obvious downfalls to this is it wipes the 4-4-2 formation many of you seem to want us to play out the window, plus maybe Wickham is better than being partnered with hoofball expert Smith, though I do rate Smith, just feel B'Mac thinks he is only good for a punt forward which is a shame.

Anyway, these are just my views and of course I may be completely wrong, but what we can say (and I think many of you will agree) is that it is nice to have a quality striker in to help Ross out.

Trouble with this is that it may work for a game or two, but then the opposition suss it out and becomes easy to deal with. Also there would be no width in our team with was the problem before.

Agree0 Disagree0

That would certainly resolve our midfield issues, simply bypassing it from the defence. Wickham for me is a great signing and him and Ross up front hopefully will be a formidable partnership. We need a spark in midfield, somebody who can get their foot on the ball and play a decent pass.

Agree0 Disagree0

If you played a 4-4-2 'diamond' formation it would work
