I have never left text on here before but just thought I would share this with you,my gaffers daughter works for the coventry telegraph she says the word around the office is that leeds have put a player+cash offer for clingan, the player involved is paynter, the deal should be done by mon in time for tues it is gonna happen if coventry want paynter, cos leeds, not willing to meet there asking price.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Can't they just take money and Paynter ?

This is a comment left on Peter Lorimers collumn and the guy has totally nailed it!

Peter, some questions for you as a member of the board... Do you agree with the way LUFC is being run at the moment ? Do you think ticket prices are fair ? Do you think that casual attendees, lads and Dads have to pay full whack if they want to watch a match at Elland Road ? Thats how I first came to watch you in a Leeds shirt, I doubt that would ever have happened under current cicumstances. Do you think that it is fair that members have to pay £40 just for the priviledge of being able to purchase tickets ? Do you think it was a good move to ban the BBC from Elland Road ? Do you think it is a good idea to cut down on your catchment by taking all radio broadcasting in house and losing £700,000 per year for the right to do this, whilst turning down income from prospective broadcasters ? Do you want your club (I'm assuming LUFC are your club) to continue to be run by someone who threatened to destroy it unless he gained financially ? Do you agree that the fans inside Elland Road are policed by cheap hired bouncers who relish confrontation ? Do you like the fact that our chief executive once referred to Leeds as 'White S***e' ? Do you like the fact that we were repeatedly lied to that we were selling Fabien Delph in order to re-purchase Thorp Arch ? Do you like having a chairman who , for 7 years has spoken of investors and has not managed to attract any at all in all of that time ? ( Think about how long that is, My lad was 17 years old, he's now 24 ! We are still waiting) Do you like the fact that throughout West Yorkshire, young kids do not see Leeds United gear in shops to even give them a chance of choosing us over Manchester United or Chelsea ? Do you like the fact that our money is being spent on serial court cases and legal fees to satisfy our litigious cantankerous 80 year old chairman ? Do you like the fact that many members of the Supporters club, who were the lifeblood of the club, never missing a game , have been given pariah status by a chairman who countenances no dissenting voices? Do you think it is right that I have a season ticket renewal sitting on my table asking me to pay up front SEVEN months before the start of the next season, with no clue as to what I will be paying for ? Do you like the fact that we, as fans have to pay prices equating to a champions league side , yet our club serially sell their talented players for peanuts and we continue to turn up and watch mediocrity? Do you like the way that the club fails to negotiate new contracts with our talent and allow the situation to reach the stage where we are over a barrel ? Do you like the fact that, since our relegation in 2004 we have have over SIXTY loan players representing us ? Do you like the fact that our matchday programme is the most expensive in Britain ? Our club is rotten from the top down. If you, or anyone else, can't see that after 7 years of this s**t, then you never will. And you say we are making progress ? Don't be daft lad. No doubt there will be someone else along in a moment to defend the indefensible.

You speak for many a true Leeds fan! I foe one will not be renewing my season ticket & my son's under the current circumstances. I'd rather plough my money into grass roots football & to be honest watch my sons play for their respective sides at semi-pro level.
How it's all changed! As a 10 year old lad I occasionally washed Lorimer's car for 6/8d when he lived in a semi in Alwoodley . This game has gone mental & is starting to be controlled by crazy people! Bring back integrity, honour & loyalty!

I've renewed mine after agonising long and hard over the decision. Agree 100% with this excellent post though.

Which loan player made the biggest impact? Did Somma and Gradel start on loan? They would get my vote. On the other hand McSheffrey, Vokes and even Keogh didn't really do it. Let's hope Fab can make a difference. It really is a lottery though.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Gradel was initially on loan, best loan signing so far in my opinion has been the keeper from reading - looks like a great prospect, just wish we could afford to buy him

I think from my posts I am a little disallusioned at the min, like a lot of people.if snoddy goes, which we have to accept is a possibility I worry about where the next generation of fans are coming from.a lot of fans like me are not local,I grew up when Leeds were a very good side and that's why there are thousands of us around the uk.when I go to Leeds it's 200.00 for me and my little boy,a little boy who gets stick at school for been a Leeds fan.bates you have a duty to keep attracting kids that will want to keep coming like me for the next 50 years.my lad had a hero in how son and snoddy, how son gone and more to follow.you'll be long gone when the kids now are adults,do Leeds a Cavour, invest, get us up and keep the kids attraction to Leeds.shrew leeds {Ed013's Note - Write him a letter mate, I am local and cant afford to buy my son a season ticket as well as my own so I feel for you. If you read the interview ken bates had with yorkshire radio this week, did you see the part where bates was talking about transfers, and hinted that the better deals are available in June, july and the only players available in Jan are either ones who have been injured or are not good enough and that fans have to be patient, that to me is a warning that no players will be arriving in Jan.

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Lets admit it, the season is over for leeds. Maybe it was over at the start of the season. Sorry but i'm losing faith in this management team.Would love to see someone buy the club and get this horrible old get away from his strangehold of this british institution as known as Leeds United.

27 Jan 2012 21:04:08
Haha Grayson and bates, your a classic.4 days left in transfer window.Grayson says one or 2 may happen after fa cup games so that's Monday,48 hrs left to agree terms etc.if they were good players we were buying the fa cup would not matter,so basically he means low in pecking order squad players on loan, these are ones normally involved in fa cup.personally I think it will be a case of,we couldn't quite make it happen, they went somewhere else or there clubs decided to hold on to them.prepare to be very disappointed.my source is that yes couple of things on boil but literally 20% chance of happening.expect another poor loanee like odea who isn't good enough for spl or Ipswich.get season ticket renewal in on promises then sit back and watch the fireworks...shrew leeds

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Bit negative - terms will already have been discussed with potential targets - their clubs will want to wait until after the FA cup before deciding whether they're needed for the rest of the season. Not expecting any illustrious signings though....

No word of a lie! Richie Wellens will sign for a fee of 850k on Monday! {Ed013's Note - He is a good player, but I think that is a lot for a 31 year old. What do you think?}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Hi, my view? I remember the fee for Gordon was considered to be too much at the time. Allowing for the fact that transfer fees have gone up, if Richie is half as good then bring him on, oh, and Richie is about the same age as Gordon was.

Bates does not want to go to the PL ... if we went up then players want more wages and his profit margin goes down ... also the reason he has down membership deadline before the end of transfer window is that we will lose 2 key players on Monday ..... i believe RS and TL will both go Monday evening, then what we will get is we very nearly signed mr x or my y but at the last minute another club came in for them .... we also got a great ofer for xxxxxxx , we had to take it, is was too god to say no to !

This all fells a little da sha vu to me ... i hope i am wrong – if do go i have 3 season tickets and will not be renewing.

When wilt eh good day return to ER ... ? - MOT

Believable2 Unbelievable2

If we go to the prem league im prety sure bates will sell up and if he doesn't im sure his profit margins will get bigger as its up to him how much wages he will pay and its worth 90 mil just to go up and come straight back down

Agree1 Disagree1

I've seen some rubbish on this site, but this one takes the biscuit. From what I can decipher.

Agree3 Disagree1

I agree with the two replies. The original post is an example of why you have to be 18 to vote in government elections and why some people should not be allowed to express their opinion.

Agree5 Disagree0

Going up this year and straight back down may net 90 million, but the outstanding debts we owe, should we go up this year, will swallow all of that up.

If we go up NEXT season, the 90 million quid WOULD then be worth having....

Agree1 Disagree1

Again just rubbish..the extra payments payable if we reached the premiership within five years of administration amount to £5 million..that's less than £90 million by quite a lot?

Agree2 Disagree0

I agree, where did I put my enigma machine? What is that person saying? I know Ed will stand up for them, but, please, for me, advise as to what language they are trying to write, just so I can go and have in translated into English. {Ed007's Note - Got me beat mate!!!}

Persionally i dont think bates wants promotion i feel that he is saying it to make us fans think he is ambitous. If he did want promotion like other chairmen he would have invested a bit more money into the team.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Think about it, another season in the Championship charging Premiership Prices were we average 23,000 per game, so of course he doesn't want Promotion. The man is recouping some of his spendings before he sells on.....MOT.

Agree1 Disagree2

Is it the same person posting this rubbish? Why would he not want promotion?oh yes, he wouldnt want an extra 10000 on the gate every week, and £30 million in tv revenues. Who would want an extra £60 million over three years for just one season in the premiership?

Matty Pattison's agent demanded his "client" have parity with the top earners at the club. Grayson rightly refused.

Grayson " Keeping cards close to his chest this transfer window". (OS). Same story as every other window, in other words nobody available for free or to play on minimum wages. Believable5 Unbelievable1

Ridiculous post - you don't conduct your business, selling or buying, in public. It just alerts other clubs and gives agents the opportunity to push up wages. Would I tell my competitors my plans for my business over the next 12 months - of course not.

Sorry to say it guys but either im losing faith in getting anymore signings in before transfer deadline day.you got Ken(look after my pockets Bates saying one thing, and Simon dont no what im saying Grayson making other comments about transfers which never happen, sounds like a back room team who are really pulling together).just a final note i see that Matt Pattison was not wanted by grayson ,according to grayson we have better players in this position (TELL ME WHO MICHAEL BROWN DONT MAKE ME LAUGH).

Believable5 Unbelievable1

If we play a 442 then weve got Clayton, Delph, Brown, Pugh can play CM, Vayrenen, Nunez, more than enough

Agree3 Disagree2

Our midfield is stronger now than it was at christmas with Delph and Rogers so stop moaning!

Agree3 Disagree0

Thompson plays cm aswell

Agree2 Disagree1

We don't need another midfielder..
right back is what we need, i saw thompson last game, his passing was quite good..
i say put him in midfield when playing 4-3-2-1..

Agree2 Disagree2

I disagree,we do need another centre mid player,if we revert to 4.5.1 we have clayton, delph and erm..brown,pugh is not a centre mid player and i am sure he would be the first to admit that,i watched him at Barnsley and he was awful there, like a fish out of water,he is steady away on the left(nothing exciting)just steady away...if we could get someone to fill the howson (REAL)role behind the striker or someone to sit in front of the back four to release clayton/delph i think its a must!

Agree2 Disagree0

So why bring another midfielder in on trial then?

27 Jan 2012 11:01:50
Welcome to Simon Grayson’s nightmare. He is a slave to Leeds United’s heritage, and supposed status as a big club. He is employed by an 80-year-old with the instincts and vocabulary of a schoolyard bully. His best players are being sold, and his job depends on winning promotion to the Premier League.

Good luck with that. Managing Leeds these days is more Mission Impossible than Damned United. The fans – or “morons”, to use chairman Ken Bates’ term of endearment – are in revolt. Their sympathy for the manager is balanced by an understandable resentment at the casual exploitation of their loyalty.

Anyone who has followed Bates’ 45-year career in football will be unsurprised by his strategy at Leeds, where he has positioned himself as the mirror image of the unlamented Peter Ridsdale. The dreamer with the goldfish has been replaced by a despot with piranha-like tendencies.

Ticket prices are the highest in the Championship, more expensive than the majority of clubs in the Premier League. A children’s season ticket to watch former Leeds captain Jonny Howson play for Norwich next season will cost £80.50. The same season ticket at Elland Road will set a doting Dad back £201.

Howson’s departure on Tuesday, apparently for a lot less than the £2million quoted, is a sign of turbulent times. Bates appeared to position Grayson as a scapegoat when he revealed that the wage budget, £9.5million, is being exceeded by 23%. The inference, that players are overpaid under-performers, will doubtlessly be used as a pretext for more cost cutting.

The club have been forced to deny reports that Scotland international Robert Snodgrass will be the next disillusioned star to leave. It may, instead, be Adam Clayton, the midfield player who has rebuilt his career at Leeds after being prematurely released by Manchester City.

It’s a self-defeating strategy. Kasper Schmeichel did not want to leave Leeds in the summer but his £1million-a-year contract dictated his sale to Leicester City. Grayson has tried three cheaper goalkeepers this season, with a conspicuous lack of success, but has kept Leeds on the fringes of the play-off places.

His reward has been to see everyone from Neil Warnock to Steve Bruce linked with his job. Gates are down by an average of 3,500, and there is talk of a fans boycott of the televised home game against Southampton in March. By that time, it may be too late
{ this is from lifes a pitch} dont belive go read 4ur s self

Good honest post - eyes wide open to the facts and truth

Agree2 Disagree0

Brilliant piece, well done. Ever fancied becoming the chief executioner. On a serious note you are totally right in my view.

Agree2 Disagree0

Almost agree - but you're wrong about the keeper situation. Scheimechel's a 'Sky Sports' keeper - a great shot stopper but very poor positionally and organisationally. We were right to offload him irrespective of his salary. Lonergan is way better as is McCarthy. Can't disagree with much else here though.

Agree1 Disagree0

Some valid points, but the part about schmiechel is rubbish. We have a better keeper now in Lonergan, with a profit on the deal of about half a million. It's strange how no one mentions this deal when talking about grayson's signings?

Agree1 Disagree0

Yes, but where as the profits gone, certainly not on players or is this a undisclosed point of view.

I have to admit, we do make a massive difference at games. Was anyone there for Ipswich? Did you see how the players reacted when in the second half Elland Road started singing its heart out? I was sat in South Stand for it and when everyone piped up, the players looked like they found the energy they needed.

We hear about it all the time, the '12th man' but it definately applies to Leeds. I agree with Grayson, lets make Elland Road a fortress again by shouting out loud for the lads! M.O.T

Believable6 Unbelievable1

I agree but don't spend your money while there cos it's only gonna go to bates and he won't reinvest it in players ect, he'sl just relying on our loyality to keep his pockets full

Just buy your ticket dont spend money in the ground .... we all want KB out and believe me , when we get to the PL he will cash in, so we need to do out bit and raise the roof

SIYAVUMA Sports Agency managing director Paul Mitchell, whose company manages Matthew Pattison, yesterday refused to discuss the chances of the Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder at Leeds United.

This is despite impressive form displayed by the 26-year-old in two friendly matches against Newcastle and Glasgow Celtic.

Pattison scored a goal in each game.

The player, who has not been a regular at Sundowns recently, is on trials at the English Championship club and indications are he might join the Yorkshire club.

Mitchell said: "Yes, Pattison did well. but nothing has happened in terms of him joining the club. He went there with the blessings of Sundowns, who I'm currently in talks with regarding his future. I expect to hear from Leeds United next week."

If signed, Pattison - who also played for Newcastle United and Norwich City - will join compatriot Davide Somma at Elland Road.
