Use our rumours form to send us leeds transfer rumours.

27 May 2012 22:17:49
Not a rumour but after watching the soccer aid match how about seedorf, free agent would control our midfield, and Ben shepard for right back lol he was better than Connelly has been for us even jonathan Wilkes played better than any of our midfielders last season and these two Arnt even pro footballers now that's saying something.

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Not free agent he's retired

Agree2 Disagree2

And get serge from kasabian up front too

Agree6 Disagree1

No he hasn't retired.

Agree3 Disagree1

He is free agent now after completing his contract with Milan and even if he had retired that would still make him free agent doh!

Agree3 Disagree2

Seedorf would be a complete no-brainer! quality player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, sure he would jump at the chance to join us,we can't get ward but we speculate on seedorf, give your head a shake

Agree1 Disagree0

Aren't you an old misery guts?

Mot without bates and his yes men!

27 May 2012 20:38:38
Lets get realistic, warnocks not leaving, bates aint leaving, and at the minute no one is coming in. However i believe by august we will be happy with the new signings, as well as snodgrass staying. Though i think mccormack and white will leave im afraid. What do you think edd? {Ed013's Note - Lets hope everyone will be happy come Aug}

Believable3 Unbelievable2

27 May 2012 19:13:16
Just an idea... not a rumour, but would you be happy with Leroy Lita? Didn't seem to have much of a shout at Swansea last year and with them being in a strong position for next year may become available at a reasonable price. Proven goal scorer at this level

Lust will do nothing but ruin this football club. They give the real fans a bad name. During the marches the majority of the lust members looked about 15yrs old and were just there to cause trouble. They have there own agenda and it's not to take Leeds back to the premiership!

Agree5 Disagree3

27 May 2012 18:22:34
A lot of talk about a takeover at Leeds, maybe we couldn't cough up 400,000 for Ward because ongoing talks are happening with a possible new chairman, I thank Bates for saving us but now his time has come we need someone to invest. Who wouldn't want to buy Leeds? Warnock knows what to do with money, in warnock we trust. MOT!

Friend who lives in leicester says beckford really wants to.return to leeds he loves
the place and adores the fans and feels he needs to return to make up for leaving he is willing to take a pay cut to play for us
I would love the guy back fair enough he left on a free after promotion to championship but do u blame him trying premiership football.were he finished top.goal scorer
Yeah he missed a lot of chance but he was there to take that.chance and with his pace he can terrorise defences leicester dont want him and are willing take a loss on his sale as leicester fans dont want him
Other players rumoured mills no chance linked to celtic and bamba linked to turkey or greece {Ed037's Note - And is this a well known fact in Leicester then?}

Believable3 Unbelievable5

In the case of Bamba i would walk to leeds and beg them to take me on...how much in drachmas will there be to the pound, too risky.

It looks like Simon Church could be looking for a new club - SSN - with 3 clubs monitoring him already. I think he would be a very good addition to us, but how much do we think he is worth? Its says Leicester are interested, but they have spent 3 million already and new rules states 6 million max from the Chairmen so they will need to do some selling soon to make more funds available. This is not a rumour by the way, this is me looking for your opinion as its about time we looked for players that can do a job at this level and not free, rubbish has beens!

ed any truth in there being a "transfer embargo on leeds united" whilst take over talks are ongoing. source newsnow!!!!! {Ed013's Note - This is the first thing I have seen media related, however don't get too excited due to a lot of pages on there are from fans making their own news. It would explain why Neil is really quiet and why the Ward deal hasn't happened}

I would like to put a few things straight.....

No takeover
Smith isnt coming back
Warnock is staying (until xmas as will be sacked if we arent up there in the top 6)
Aidy White is leaving, with McCormack
Snodgrass not leaving, but not signing a new contract either
Ward not coming as Paynter deal not going through
South stand not closing only corporate boxes there are being shut
Bates is staying for 1 more year 9 looking to get a big pay off when/if we go up)

Paddy Kenny arriving at Leeds along with Derry
Beckford has been told to take a pay cut to return to Leeds or rot at leicester

Any footballer who is on freebie, who has pace and power will be linked with Leeds...so expect the rumour mill to go into overdrive next week when 1St June arrives

All will become clearer in next 2 weeks, keep the faith, go on your holidays and get ready for our promotion charge!! {Ed013's Note - You sir should sign your posts with a name and take the credit you deserve. A lot of this is true}

Believable11 Unbelievable6

Finally someone wiv a bit of sense

Agree3 Disagree2

Well said...All true

Agree2 Disagree2

Trying not to be negative, but Kenny is a disctinctly average goalkeeper, and Derry would only give some team sheets away again

Agree2 Disagree0

Every issue I have with peoples posts have been addressed here, well done.
X

Agree1 Disagree1

ED, really?

Paynter couldnt be part of the deal because they are under a transfer embargo, Ward want to stay down south

Beckford wages has nothing to do with it, Leicester offered him twice we said no twice

Derry as said his family are settled in London and he doesn't want to move them again

Snodgrass is going, probably to Stoke or Everton

ur probably right about the takeover {Ed013's Note - Not all is right but some of it, the thing that got me was it was level headed instead of all the negatives I get through here etc etc}

Hi Ed, got any news on actual targets and not what people want to see at Leeds? Also this take over rumour must just be a smoke screen so bates doesn't have to spend a penny, surely?? {Ed013's Note - The takeover is just a rumour and everything is quiet on the transfer front}

YEP EXTRACT FROM GARY WALKER...So what’s going on at Elland Road? Why can’t United afford to make free signings and cough up what are relatively modest fees – by today’s standards at any rate – to fulfil the manager’s wishes?

In their defence Leeds are not alone in playing the waiting game. Most clubs will hold on until existing contracts run out on June 30, after players and managers have taken their end-of-season breaks, before starting business in earnest.

Part of the problem for Leeds could be that the bulk of season ticket renewals – which have fallen in any case – took place early in the new year and there is no match-day income to use. Come on Ken, spend big on the team, back your manager, restore fans’ faith, get more people back through the turnstiles and the club will reap the rewards accordingly.

Or maybe it’s simply time to accept you can’t take Leeds any further and go... I think we do have a few weeks left before panic sets in, but the feeling is it aint, kens had the money up front, you can see from the posts desperation and frustration has taken hold of the majority of die hard fans...here's hope ken will step up and prove the doubters wrong...more chance on the lotto millions!!!!

We live in hope,MOT

I've got a theory guys and disagree as much as you like because I am usually wrong. Bates doesn't like anyone to get one over on him so he would absolutely hate it if SG's team finishes above him. I reckon Dean Hoyle will give SG some cash to spend and SG will put a decent squad together. Therefore Bates full of hatred will think he is not going to get one over me I will give NW some more cash. Just watch this next couple of weeks, I know NW is on holiday but he will be in constant touch with Harvey. Expect about 4 signings in quick succession!

Believable2 Unbelievable8

He loves money even more than hatred i'm afraid. Fancy being 80 years old and still wanting more. greed, greed greed will lead him to purgatory.

Agree6 Disagree0

27 May 2012 09:33:35
Probably no one will agree but Jack Hunt from Huddersfield, Matt Lowton and Harry Maguire from Sheff Utd would be great additions to the defence.

Believable3 Unbelievable4

Harry Maguire definitely.

Is anyone else over this ward rumour? Yeah he is a decent, but not great championship player, Colin has never formally singled out that he is being targeted and before the rumour started alot of us would have gone ward who? I think we could get better from somewhere else

So much doom and gloom on here! We miss out on Joel Ward, so what? Warnock wants proven players and hungry ones. From the fact he isn't excited for a move to Leeds, we know he isn't hungry, and he certainly isn't proven. So it's best we move on from him and get in a better type of player, who wants the white shirt, and has the desire to reach the premier league with a top club! MOT

Believable6 Unbelievable1

So we need to find good hungry players that dont cost anything because we cant even get 400k together for a player...lol

just a quick question for you all discussing a takeover. i have just had a read about bates on wiki and i didn't realize how old he is, so what will happen to this club if he pops his clogs very soon. who will be in charge then or will the club be sold on the cheap to first offer. sounds like im hoping for a lot lol just curious
dc

He has a wife - she doesn't like football so would probably sell the club
or
He also has sons, so one of them may want his empire

sick of hearing Bates out just give it a rest he saved us without him there would be no leeds united.
yess he may not be living up to his promises but he was the one that saved us and without him there would be no leeds united so shut up and support the team

in warnock we trust

Believable5 Unbelievable7

Saving us is one thing but slowly sucking the life out of us is a different thing altogether. I agree with how Bates is running the club on a stable financial footing but there comes a time to spend some of the untouched Grayson warchest....the one thats been there for the last 3 seasons...probably need a locksmith due the fact Bates has forgotten where he hid the key.

Agree5 Disagree1

No he didn't save us - he manipulated the administration after putting the club into the process in the first place. You clearly know nothing about the insolvency process. There were several bids for the administrators to choose from and they picked the easy, short-sighted option.

And the calls for Bates out will go on and on until he goes irrespective of how much the deluded 'Bates saved us' crowd whine about it. Those of us with a conscience don't want him running our club.

BATES OUT.

^ Thats right mate. All these pro Bates supporters need to brush up on their 'facts'.

Good manager or not good manager. I would just like to say congratulations to Simon Grayson. Unfortunately for us they'll be a major force next year backed with the money from the almost certain sale of Rhodes and a cracking chairman (wouldn't one of them be nice).
I fully expect SG to go in for Beckford, McCormack, Clayton possibly Nunez almost certainly Clingan. Adding some if not most of these to what is already a decent squad. They'll be a major force next season.
Good luck Larry.
The jury's out on your manager skills but one thing is unarguable, you were 100% loyal & committed to Leeds & we will always respect you for that.
jt-lufc

Believable11 Unbelievable2

I Dont think jurys is out on his managerial skills he deserved a lot a credit for the work he put in with us we played exciting football had he been backed we would be in prem by now some of the players left have played well in the prem france etc and he did it all with no money the nly thing negative u can say is he was defensively inept which could be down to the fact that he believed we could outgun anyone fantastic manager he deserves everything he gets and i think he will get hudders promoted next season well done SG massive respect for you i think we should all cheer him onto the pitch next season

Agree5 Disagree1

Jurys out on his manager skills, are you joking me?!! he was one of our best managers in years and we was 7th in the division 3 points off the play-offs and he was wrongfully sacked for finally speaking his mind!

Agree3 Disagree2

27 May 2012 03:28:40
i am seriously getting worried now about next season. i know its only early but weve really not heard anything about arrivals coming out of leeds. we released 5 players, so you would of thought he had 5 in mind already. i know weve signed 1 but nw had said he would be disappointed if he didnt have 3 in before he went away. is it just me or was it a mistake signing andy lonergan? i think hes been terrible. if we had made schmeichel a better offer we would of made playoffs. i hope where all panicking for no reason- as most players are on hols now as well as managers, and its not like other clubs are making loads of signings, but kb has never dug into his own pocket, unless you count the 2 he grudgingly paid to buy 2 football clubs. message to kb, the best way to shut us up is to prove us wrong. keep the faith, mot

Huddersfield promoted nice one SG (Larry) now watch them finish above us, should never had got rid off him in the first place !

Believable9 Unbelievable7

Good to see the dignified way he acted at the end too. Recognising what an awful way it is to lose a play-off final, he didn't go crackers, the first thing he did was offer his condolences to Danny Wilson and the Sheff Utd players - including of course ex-Leeds men Doyle and Collins.

Simon Grayson has class. Ken Bates isn't fit to polish his shoes.

Now watch next season as Grayson prospers in the Championship with a board who back him, while we struggle in a relegation fight thanks to the lies Bates told Warnock.

I'm so sick of the lack of good news coming from Elland Road.

Agree8 Disagree5

Wind your necks in idiots, Warnock will have a decent squad when the season starts. Especially when Graysons dross is cleared out

Agree6 Disagree6

Amazing how some view Grayson :
Do you remember the 6:4 home loss against Preston?
What about the total inability to prepare a team defensively: same happened at Blackpool when he was manager .
Grateful to SG but let's move on and back the most successful Promotion manager in history !

Agree8 Disagree2

Well done SG.

Agree4 Disagree5

But then Warnock, 7-3 home loss to Forest, freak results happen in the championship, Blackpool were a steady team when he left for us, hes a fab manager

Agree2 Disagree1

I believe grayson will beat warnocks 7 promotions ,thats 3 promotions since 2005 so far .

Agree2 Disagree1

What's with the doylem calling people idiots? Everyone's entitled to their opinions. Christmas 2010, Grayson had us 2nd in the Championship. If Bates had backed us then, we'd have been up at the end of the season.

As for Warnock having a decent squad come August, are you sure? We've heard it all before.

Wind your own neck in and learn some respect.

PSJ

Agree2 Disagree1

SG did well with the scraps he had

Agree2 Disagree1

When SG got sacked we were 7th and just outside the playoffs who knows where we would have finished could have been in the playoffs and fair enough we had a few dodgy results, but we finished bottom half thanks to NW
